I arrived a Monday and so per prior agreement with Dad I'd be starting the next Monday at the Forks High School. I'd be a senior unlike the story canon Bella, after all I'd skipped a grade. If it hadn't been for the guaranteed extra points for certain canon events I would have fastracked and graduated high school at 13. But alas I had to suffer through something I'd done countless times before.

Anyways with a whole week to unpack and get ready for the tedium of next week. Charlie going fishing tomorrow early morning, I opened the system store as I lay in my bed.

The standard weaponry and talent books but what I was interested in was supplements and enhancements.

Three options showed up under that category.

Repellant (10,000 points) but it would repell ALL supernatural and I couldn't pick and choose which it would. I didn't want my friends to be repelled away from me. Seth, Jacob and Leah might as well be my siblings for how close we were and how much I loved them. No repellant wouldn't work, regardless of the exorbitant price.

Supressant (2,000) was slightly tempting if it weren't out of what I could afford. It would suppress any supernatural's gifts from working on me.

I already had a plan in place for getting passed Edward Cullen's gift. I didn't have Isabella's natural defenses as we were switched at her birth. Likewise I would most likely not be Edward's singer either. However, I had to build up a tolerance against mind-readers in past missions, giving to me having a very thoroughly made Mind Palace.

The last option was a Soother (1,000). I barely had enough for it.

The soother it seemed did as the name suggests. Calms supernaturals whenever they are in your presence. They will feel comforted and any bloodlust will vanish.

Of course the drawbacks were it being an enhancement it would cause me extreme pain after taking it as it literally changed the composition of my body. Oh and the possible obsessive protectiveness supernaturals might develop around a soother.

Was it worth it?

My family had the kiss of Luck to protect them but I was weak against the attack of anything out of the realm of normal. Sure I could put up a fight for a little while, since I was fit but it wouldn't last long against supernatural speed or strength.

I thought, 'Buy Soother'.

A ding rang out and my points went down to my remaining 50 before a pill popped into my hand.

Before taking it I wrote on a post-it and placed it on my door facing the hall. "Think I caught something from the plane. Already took some meds. Going to sleep it off."

Placing the small pill on my tongue I swallowed it dry. It wasn't the first time I'd taken an enhancement. It was one of the reasons I could put up a fight if I needed too; fighting body, and natural elegance. I'd been careful what enhancements I took in the past having heard horror stories of agents who became odd amalgamations after taking too many.

When the pain hit, I was expecting it. It felt like my veins were on fire and then as if they were dunked in freezing water over and over back and forth before I passed out.

It lasted for 4 hours before it finally let up. I was still a bit weak kneed afterward and had a hard time keeping food down for a day. Slowly I got better and I was able to take a shower to wash away the sweat.

Dad came home with some chicken soup Sarah made for me and well wishes from the family.

I spent the next night curled up next to my dad on the couch as we watched Mouse Hunt. Our laughter filling up the house.

When the weekend came I was well enough to go to La Push for bonfire.

I sat in between Seth and Jacob as we watched Billy Black tell the Quilette legends of old.

I couldn't help but think of what would happen when I met the 'cold ones' come Monday.
