Coming Up Next: With Mat and Melissa trapped within Edison's latest creation, the chase is on to catch up with the mechanical piranha before it either takes them to Edison's lair or something worse. But even if the spies can save them, there's still the matter of what exactly Geraldine and Edison are working on together. Can they get to the bottom of this before more swimmers go missing?
Act 2: Chased By the Current
6:45 P.M. – Venice Beach
Out in the Ocean
"...okay, what the heck just happened?!" Sortiliena exclaimed once the spies had managed to catch their bearings.
"Some kind of robot fish just snagged Mat and Melissa!" Dawn gasped.
"And just like that, Edison's already crossed another line," Nick growled, his psychic aura flaring to life around him. "He must have forgotten that messing with my family is a major red flag."
"Same with Mat," Sam proclaimed. "Come on, everybody, let's swim after that thing!"
"Already on it," Bridget quipped as she deactivated her UPWATI, equipped an Aqua Lips Waterproof Lipstick, and reached for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"
With that, Bridget transformed into Sonic Mode, her outfit reconfiguring itself into a more swimsuit-like design to fit being underwater, and swam off like lightning after the robotic piranha.
"Wow, she can even go super-fast like that underwater, too?" Michi gasped.
"Yep, on both land and sea," Nick quipped. "Not so much the air, though."
"Come on, let's cut the small talk and go after Bridget!" Sam shouted. "I'm not leaving my hubby in the jaws of that Jaws ripoff!"
That was all that needed to be said as the spies all swam for their lives to catch up with the robot piranha and hopefully save Mat and Melissa.
"At least it doesn't seem to be moving too fast," Michi quipped. "Especially when Bridget went after it."
"Oh, trust me, Michi, once Bridget busts out Sonic Mode, practically nothing can escape her," Nick chuckled.
"Does anyone see a weak point on that thing?" Haruka asked.
"I'm scanning for one right now," RiCO answered as she began scanning for a suitable point of attack.
"I'm getting more vibes of the big fish in Super Mario 64, honestly," May commented.
"That's another good one to use," Nick quipped to May.
"Hey, eyes on me, fishie!" May shouted as the robot piranha swam towards her and she swam underneath it to bash its underside with her anchor, knocking it around slightly.
Bridget began to swim in circles around the robot piranha, building up kinetic energy as she did so, before eventually swimming towards it and punching it with a Metal Masher Boxing Glove, sending it reeling thanks to the momentum of the attack.
"We really gotta make sushi out of this thing before Mat and Melissa become its food!" Bridget exclaimed. "RiCO, did you find anything yet?"
"I found the weak point," RiCO stated. "The right tail fin!"
"Thanks, RiCO," Haruka remarked.
"But be careful," RiCO warned. "It seems Edison programmed for the robot piranha to explode into some nasty oil to pollute the ocean sooner or later... even IF you find the weak point..."
"Then we better hurry things up then," Britney stated.
"Wait, what about Mat and Melissa's well-being?" Sam asked.
"Well... I think that's a chance we'll have to take, Sam," Nick admitted.
Clover was already using the X-Ray Sunglasses from the Nanotechnology Eyeshadow she had secretly applied before the UPWATI.
"They're located in that thing's belly," Clover told the others. "We better hurry!"
The robot piranha tried to swim away, but Bridget cornered it using her Sonic Mode speed. She had created a circle big enough to stop the robot piranha in its tracks. Nick and Sam combined their attacks to attack the left tailfin on the robot piranha. Using their Laser Lipstick (Sam) and Laser Chapstick (Nick), both fired at that tailfin, ultimately taking the chance. The robot piranha twitched in every direction upon being hit in that specific area.
"Did we get it?" Nick asked.
"No doubt you did," Bridget remarked.
Before long, that robot piranha had indeed exploded, and Mat and Melissa were there, but they weren't necessarily unharmed, as their UPWATIs were crackling with electricity.
"What the heck happened in there?!" Dawn chastised.
"That thing is full of some weird acid inside!" Melissa exclaimed. "I thought for sure that Mat and I were going to become fuel!"
"I think it's not going to be long before..." Mat added before his and Melissa's UPWATIs short-circuited, and both he and Melissa had only seconds to abandon them and apply some Aqua Lips Waterproof Lipstick (and Chapstick in Mat's case) before they could succumb to a drowning.
"I guess we have to ask if WOOHP can repair the UPWATIs then," Nick sighed.
"And check that acid, too," Melissa gagged. "That stuff is gross!"
"Oh, that oil is being released!" Sam remarked and pointed.
"Allow me to take care of that," Michi quipped as she waved her hands and concentrated, hoping her powers could do something like this as well.
Thankfully, they seemed to do the trick, as the oil was covered in that same green glow and vanished from sight.
"Man, you're really talented, you know that?" Melissa chuckled.
Thinking ahead, Haruka took an important step to get a scan of the oil to send to Jerry and RiCO to analyze.
"Ooh, good thinking, Haruka," May commented.
Nick then did a scan of the area with his psychic radar for any other disturbances, and nothing popped up.
"Great... I think Edison got away while we got held up with those swimmers..." Nick groaned.
"Well, I guess for now we can head back," Sam told the others, and that's what they did for at least a dinner break.
That in mind, the spies all headed back to Mali-U to chill out, with RiCO promising to call them if W.O.O.H.P. discovered anything about Geraldine or Edison, since both villains were being pretty quiet right now.
That night, though, Michi continued to think about all the cool things she could do with her powers...
...and her thoughts again drifted to the question she had yet to find an answer to. Namely, why she had these powers in the first place.
To be fair, she knew that the Collective had given her these powers when they'd done... whatever they'd done to her. She just still wasn't sure why, only that the Collective needed her for something.
Despite that, though, Michi also knew that because they'd given her these powers, she was basically free to use them against the Collective whenever that time came.
And that allowed her to fall asleep peacefully.
10:45 A.M. – Malibu University
Beach Area
"PIRATE DIVE!" May exclaimed as she did a flying leap into the water. Much to her surprise, though, Dawn was able to move out of the way so that May only splashed empty air instead of her.
"And that's why you should only do that right as you're about to jump, May," Nozomi chuckled.
"My moment of triumph was fleeting," May conceded.
"Looks like they're having fun," Haruka chuckled as she and Nick walked out to join the rest of the spies.
"I tried to warn May not to announce her dives too early," Nick quipped. "Announcing yourself too early kinda ruins the whole point of the shtick."
"True," Haruka giggled.
"U-Um, excuse me?"
Haruka turned around at that voice, and she saw the swimmer she'd saved from Edison's "riptides" the other day, and he was apparently holding something behind his back.
"Can I help you?" Haruka wondered.
Nick mentally prepared himself, having a good idea on where this was probably headed.
"Okay, so... my name's Melvin, by the way," Melvin stated. "I never did tell you my name, now that I think about it. Anyways, I really couldn't stop thinking about how you saved me yesterday, and... well, I just wanted to..."
Melvin reached out and produced a flower he'd no doubt found nearby. "Would you please go out with me?" Melvin gasped.
Nick would have said something, but Haruka simply winked at him, silently telling him to let her handle this.
"Well, aren't you sweet," Haruka responded, accepting Melvin's flower. She didn't want to be rude, even if she had to tell him the truth. "I'm sorry I gotta burst the bubble, but... I'm already spoken for."
To emphasize her point, Haruka reached out to hold Nick's free hand, conveying the message to Melvin.
"And Nick's kinda a bit of a protective boyfriend, if you catch my drift," Haruka stated. "I just wanted to make sure that everything was clear."
"Oh... okay, then," Melvin conceded. "But I am still grateful for you saving me."
"It's like I said, there's no way I'd just let someone drown," Haruka answered.
With that, Melvin seemed to be satisfied, heading off in another direction.
"Wow, you handled that masterfully," Nick quipped.
"I learned from the best, after all," Haruka chuckled as she leaned over to kiss Nick.
Around the time the spies took a break from the beach for lunch, though, they were contacted by Jerry and RiCO.
"I guess that's it for our break, huh?" Britney sighed.
"Hey, at least we got to finish our lunch before Jer called us, right?" Clover quipped.
"Very true on that," Nick chuckled as he flipped open his X-Powder. "What's the sit-rep, boss man?"
"We have identified the location of Edison's secret base as out in the Pacific Ocean," Jerry answered.
"And lo and behold, I've picked up the signals of both our baddies there as well, so that can only mean they're getting ready to spring their big project," RiCO responded. "We're pinging you their location now."
A map of the Pacific Ocean appeared on everyone's X-Powders (and DS in Mat's case) with two blinking dots bunched together at one point, no doubt where Geraldine and Edison were holed up.
"That's not too out into the ocean, thankfully," Sam stated.
"Well, I'm in the mood to kick some butt, so how 'bout we head out that way and take care of business?" Alex proclaimed.
Everyone was in agreement on that, heading out of Mali-U, making a pit-stop at W.O.O.H.P. for a gadget refresh and so Sortiliena could join back up with them, and then heading out to find the lair.
But as they left, they missed Melvin staring at Haruka again, seemingly not deterred despite what Haruka had told him.
1:27 P.M. – Geraldine and Edison's Secret Lair
"Well, this definitely fits, doesn't it?" Bridget noted once everyone had arrived at the secret lair in question, which resembled a cross between an underwater aquarium and an assembly line, no doubt for whatever Edison was making.
"Wait, so you're saying that swimmer guy you saved actually tried to ask you out?" Sortiliena gasped.
"Yeah, but I managed to let him down gently," Haruka answered. "Still had to tell him the truth, though."
"You probably handled that about ten times better than I would have," Michi chuckled. "You've really got some experience, don't you?"
"I mean, I kinda had to when we were younger," Haruka replied. "Some other girls tried to ask Nick out back when he was dating Nozomi, since they'd seen his feats in karate class, so I had to set 'em straight."
"I really have no idea how I did that, honestly," Nick admitted.
"It was funny, though," Nozomi giggled.
"All right, everyone, let's see what this place has in store for us, shall we?" Sam stated as the spies all began to explore the lair.
The spies looked high and low for Edison and Geraldine or perhaps another clue.
"How are you holding up, Haruka?" Nick asked.
"What about?" Haruka wondered.
"That swimmer... Melvin?" Nick clarified.
"Oh, him? I think he got the message," Haruka stated. "But the lifeguard did most of the work, not me."
"Well, you and Nick had front row seats, so how'd it happen?" Mat asked. "Next thing I know, I look up and see you and Nick waving your arms to motion to the lifeguard that you need help."
"I think Melvin must have had a cramp somewhere," Haruka deduced. "Because I saw him holding both of his knees."
"And then the lifeguard does the rest of the work," Nick replied to finish the story.
"I hope he wasn't attracted to your bikini, Haruka," Bridget commented.
"Maybe," Haruka admitted. "You never know what goes through people's minds sometimes, especially when they're a little loopy from, y'know, almost drowning."
"Well, either way, that kind of stuff can get very serious when a rescuer takes their gratitude too far..." Mat deduced.
"Yeah, like this one time someone needed Johnny's help with finding something she'd lost," May quipped, remembering that particular event like it was yesterday. "He helped her find it, of course, because that's just the kind of guy Johnny was, but when she tried to give Johnny the 'standard hero reward', if you catch my drift, Jam caught her trying it and... kinda slapped the lady stupid for it."
"Jam does seem like she was kinda the overprotective type back then," Melissa answered.
"Oh, Johnny was pretty handsome, so he had his fair share of suitors that didn't want to accept he was already taken," May chuckled. "I definitely had to knock away more than a few prying hands myself."
"Well, I guess May's been in that situation before then," Nozomi remarked.
"Absolutely," May stated. "And it's no fun, too."
Sam then heard her X-Powder chirp.
"How's the mission going, spies?" Jerry wondered as his visage appeared.
"We're hoping to get somewhere now that we've found their hideout," Bridget replied.
"We were able to find out the acid on Mat and Melissa's UPWATIs," RiCO told them. "Along with the oil that Michi sent us to analyze..."
"Well, let's hear it," Sortiliena remarked.
"According to our analysis, the acid seems to be part of some kind of pollution agent," Jerry answered.
"And the oil is part of what's powering a bunch of machines around here, no doubt Edison's inventions," RiCO responded.
Clover and Alex couldn't help but cringe at that.
"I don't think it explains much about Geraldine and Edison's master plan though..." Sam commented.
"But we will find out sooner or later," Nick quipped.
"Wouldn't you like to find out right now?!" Geraldine sneered, which got everyone's attention.
The spies were shocked to see Geraldine and Edison right in front of them.
"Should have figured you'd try to catch us off guard, huh?" Melissa taunted.
"I'd say it worked, considering what we've got waiting for you," Edison laughed. "I would just surrender right now if I were you."
"Sorry, but that's supposed to be our line!" Nick shouted as he fired a Final Shine Attack and swept it across the hallway to knock both villains down.
Edison quickly jumped back to his feet and aimed a wrist-mounted device towards the approaching Sam and Mat, firing a large net that quickly ensnared both of them.
"Ah-ah, I wouldn't try to escape if I were you," Edison laughed. "That netting is made of ultra-strong, reinforced mesh. I'm pretty sure nothing you have on you can cut it."
Before Sam or Mat could think of something to try, though, Edison raised an electric ray gun, making it obvious what he intended to do.
"And now, enjoy about fifty-thousand volts," Edison cackled as he fired.
Michi acted quickly, raising her left hand to open a portal directly underneath Sam and Mat so that they dropped into it just as the electric blast hit the netting and electrified it. Michi raised her other hand above Edison and opened another portal so that Sam and Mat could drop out of it and pounce on Edison, driving him to the ground.
"H-How the hell?!" Edison gasped.
"The name's Michi Mochievee, and I can 'think with portals'," Michi taunted. "That's all you really need to know."
Geraldine lunged towards Clover and Blaine, her movement speed making it pretty clear she'd recovered from her earlier stunt.
"Looks like you're feeling better, huh?" Clover laughed as she easily dodged Geraldine's strikes. "You want me to have Michi portal you into something else so we can fix that?"
"Don't you mock me, Clover!" Geraldine shouted as she attempted to kick Clover in the head, only to be driven back by Blaine rapid-firing his Boomerang Bazooka.
"Hands off my girlfriend, you witch," Blaine taunted.
Before Geraldine and Edison could regroup and think of a plan, alarms began to blare in the immediate area.
"WARNING. WARNING. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY BREACH IN SECTOR EIGHT," a mechanized voice droned.
"Oh, what did you wretches do this time?!" Geraldine growled.
"H-Hey, this wasn't us, whatever it is," Alex retorted. "We're all right here kicking your butts."
Geraldine and Edison both decided to retreat to figure out what exactly the problem was, with the spies giving chase to make sure it wasn't another trap.
However, when everyone reached the source of the problem, spy and villain alike were very bewildered at what exactly they were seeing.
A large part of the 'dome' of this area of the base was cracked and warped as if something had shot at it from the outside. But the most peculiar part was that the shattered part of the wall and glass was entirely covered by an eerie bubble of dark red light.
"...okay, that's definitely not our handiwork," Haruka quipped.
"What the hell is that?" May wondered.
"I'm gonna go check it out," Nick stated. "Can the rest of you handle lug nut one and lug nut two until I get back?"
"Oh, you better believe it, Nick," Nozomi giggled.
The rest of the spies went on the offensive to fight Geraldine and Edison while Nick his opportunity to rush into the bubble.
When Nick emerged on the other side, his eyes widened as he beheld a distorted purple void filled with floating platforms and mysterious objects scattered haphazardly. Even the part of Geraldine's base that had been engulfed by the bubble was here, floating just above it.
"...what in the hell is this place?" Nick gasped.
As Nick took a look around the platforms, he even noticed some people nearby, a group of Geraldine's minions from the looks of it.
Only problem? They all looked like they had been turned into stone statues.
"What in the world is going on here?" Nick wondered. "And why do I have the feeling that I might not be welcome here?"
"H-Hey, what are you doing here?"
Nick turned around and noticed Raora, one of the Arbiters of Justice, dropping down from a floating platform just above him.
"Did you get sucked into the Still World, too?" Raora asked.
"Kinda," Nick admitted. "A weird red bubble opened up in the lair of a bad guy my friends and I are chasing, so I decided to investigate, and... well, I found this place that's right out of an Escher painting."
"You're basically in Null's realm, to put it one way," Raora explained. "He's sealed here, but he's trying to weaken it by opening rifts in the material world and pulling things into this place. Any people who enter this world without suitable protection... um..."
"They get turned into statues like those poor mooks back there, right?" Nick noted, gesturing to the petrified mooks behind him.
"Precisely," Raora answered, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a bright red crystal before holding it over Nick's head, then crushing it in her fists. The energy within the crystal rained down onto Nick, filling his body with a very unfamiliar power.
"If you ever find yourself in the Still World again for whatever reason, that spell will prevent you from being turned into a lifeless statue," Raora stated.
"What are you, and I'm guessing the other Arbiters, doing in this trippy place?" Nick asked.
"We're tracking down the Collective, considering that they're still trying to find a way to break Null's seal," Raora responded. "We all split up to cover more ground, and that's when I found you."
"Is there any way to close these portals so they don't possibly catch my friends in them?" Nick wondered.
Raora smiled in a cheeky way as she held up the same crystal she and the Arbiters had used to enter the Still World. "I'll close the portal when you leave, so you don't have to worry about that," Raora proclaimed. "Just get back and help your friends, okay?"
"That was definitely the plan," Nick quipped as he turned on his heel and ran back into the portal he'd entered the Still World from.
After a few seconds of feeling like he was wading through a wall of Jello, Nick found himself back in Geraldine's lair where the other spies were waiting for him. Almost as soon as he'd crossed over, the portal closed itself, leaving no trace of any damage to the area.
"That didn't take too long, huh?" May chuckled.
"We chased the lug nuts off while you were in there," Sortiliena quipped. "...um, what, exactly, is in there?"
"It's a place called the Still World, supposedly where that 'Null' character that the Arbiters are trying to keep sealed away, the one the Collective is trying to break free," Nick explained. "It's a pretty trippy place, but I'll tell you more of the details later. We've gotta go after those two, don't we?"
"No kidding," Bridget responded. "Let's move!"
The spies moved forward to stop Geraldine and Edison from executing their master plan.
"By the way, major thanks for that portal, Michi," Mat stated before he forgot.
"Totally," Sam added.
Before long, the spies heard alarms blaring once again.
"What now?!" Clover chastised. "They're calling us intruders?!"
"I don't think that's the case here..." Sam deduced. "Something tells me this place is going to self-destruct in seconds..."
The alarm started to go faster and faster.
(Rossini's "William Tell Overture" plays)
"And something tells me that means less than ten seconds," Melissa added.
"And I don't wanna be in here when this place blows to kingdom come!" Nick remarked.
"No worries about that, Nick," Bridget quipped. "Sonic Mode, online!"
With that, Bridget kicked up the juice and began running in all directions after Nick formed a psychic bubble to encase everyone.
"There's no way those two could have gotten far," Haruka deduced.
Thinking quickly, Sam contacted Jerry and RiCO to see where Geraldine and Edison got to.
"Jerry, RiCO, we need a tracking to where Geraldine and Edison are off to!" Sam exclaimed.
At that time, the underwater lair had exploded.
"Looks like the WOOHP satellites are picking them up heading back in the direction of the Mali-U Beach," Jerry told them.
"Should have guessed..." Sortiliena remarked.
"Go back to where it all started and take the chance..." Blaine commented.
2:21 P.M. – Malibu University
Beach Area
"I'm not picking them up," Nick told the others upon using his psychic radar.
The spies were all trying to act like normal beachgoers in the meantime.
"Maybe that's what their pre-plan is," Dawn replied.
Everybody nodded, knowing that was a safe bet.
"So, what's the plan, Sammy?" Alex asked.
"...haven't gotten that far yet," Sam admitted.
Clover, May, and Melissa used the Binocular Shades to see if they could sniff out where Geraldine and Edison could have been hiding in the sea.
"No hint of activity anywhere, either," Clover told the spies.
"Well, we better do something sooner or later," Britney stated.
"I'm pretty sure they'll be showing their faces around here soon enough," Sam answered. "We're gonna have to find a way to draw them away from the beach so nobody here gets caught in the crossfire when that inevitable happens."
"Okay, let's do it," Mat remarked.
But before the spies could even execute Sam's plan...
"Hey, I'm glad I found you," came Melvin's voice, much to Haruka's dismay.
"What are you doing here?" Haruka groaned. "Didn't I already tell you that I'm spoken for?"
"I just can't help myself," Melvin responded. "I haven't been able to stop thinking about you, despite what you told me, and I know it's wrong, but..."
"If you know it's wrong, then why are you still persisting?" Nick retorted. "I'm pretty sure Haruka's told you that I'm pretty protective of her, which means you definitely do not want to make me angry. Just a thought."
Before Haruka could try to convince Melvin that it just wouldn't work out, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye.
"Seriously, Melvin, you're on a fool's errand," May quipped. "If you keep this up, somebody's only going to..."
"GET DOWN!" Haruka shouted, pushing Melvin down to the ground just in time to avoid something that had been flying through the air towards him.
Nick quickly caught the offending projectile, a spinning circular drone with sprouting blades like a demented yo-yo, and destroyed it with a quick flurry of psychic bolts.
("Wake Up Your Hero" by Lyn Inaizumi plays)
"All right, who's the wise guy now?" Blaine exclaimed.
"Take a wild guess," Sortiliena quipped as Geraldine and Edison made their presence known, Edison wearing a strange suit equipped with a bunch of his inventions.
"You really thought we'd just let you off the hook like that, you little punks?" Geraldine laughed.
"We may not have clashed as much as we probably would during this, but that has given us more than enough time to complete our big project," Edison chuckled.
"And what, pray tell, is that?" May taunted.
"All in due time," Geraldine sneered.
"Melvin, you might want to get the heck out of dodge," Haruka stated.
Though confused, Melvin nodded, realizing that Geraldine and Edison were most likely trouble, and ran off so the spies could get to fighting.
"Nothing to get in the way now," Dawn taunted.
"Oh, really?" Edison chuckled as he aimed one of his gadgets, aiming to set it off on the beach.
Michi responded by creating another portal underneath both villains to drop them into it and deposit them somewhere much more open, like right outside of Malibu University.
The spies all followed Michi to that spot, where Geraldine and Edison were both slightly disoriented from Michi's portal trick.
"Will you stop doing that already?!" Geraldine shouted. "It got old the first time that cube girl did it!"
"Well, too freakin' bad," Michi laughed.
"All right, now we can really cut loose!" May exclaimed, summoning her anchor to her hands and tossing it like a javelin towards the baddies.
Geraldine and Edison simply leaped in different directions to avoid it, but Nick grabbed it in his telekinetic grip and guided it back into the back of Edison's suit, knocking him forward and crushing one of the jetpack-like functions strapped to his back.
"I'll have you know that I worked hard on a lot of these, and you're just destroying them like they don't even matter to you?!" Edison growled, only to be sent spiraling by a Final Shine Attack courtesy of Nick.
"Your inventions are only used to screw with us, so we have more than enough right to wreck your things," Nick retorted. "So don't you even pull that card with us!"
Geraldine rushed in to try and attack Clover, but naturally, Blaine was having none of that, placing himself in front of Clover and raising his arms to parry Geraldine's punch, then lunging forward while Geraldine was stumbling and socking her in the face with a well-placed right hook.
"Damn, that felt satisfying," Blaine chuckled.
"Way to sock it to her, Blaine!" Clover laughed.
"Ooh, you're gonna regret that," Geraldine growled as she recovered and leaped forward to try and strangle Clover, only for Sortiliena to leg sweep Geraldine off of her feet, followed by grabbing her by the waist and suplexing her into the ground.
"You were saying?" Sortiliena laughed.
Edison continued to scurry around the area, firing strange electric ropes from one of his gadgets to keep the other spies at a distance.
"Okay, yeah, I'm not dealing with this," Bridget groaned as she re-transformed into Sonic Mode and started running towards Nick, her intent obvious. "You wanna send mister gadget boy home crying, Nick?"
"Best idea I've heard all day," Nick quipped as he and Bridget joined hands. "Let's show this discount Inspector Gadget our Purple Comet Attack!"
"Oh, no you don't!" Edison retorted, attempting to activate a force field around him, only for Sortiliena to shoulder-tackle him in the back, sending him stumbling forward so that Bridget could get in close and use her momentum to uppercut Edison into the air.
Nick followed by leapfrogging off of Bridget's shoulders and knocking Edison back to the ground with an overhead fist slam.
Before Edison could even bounce, Bridget sped by him, causing him to spin around in place for a couple seconds.
Nick lunged forward to kick Edison in the back and send him stumbling forward.
Nick and Bridget ran to either side of Edison and started attacking him in perfect sync with each other, landing four direct punches each before snap-kicking Edison into the air.
"Ready for the finale?!" Bridget shouted.
Just as Edison started falling back down, Nick and Bridget charged, striking him rapid-fire from multiple angles and making it look like he was being pinballed through the air.
For the final blow, Nick and Bridget joined hands once again, then flew swiftly towards Edison, using their joined hands to clothesline him and send him crashing back into the ground.
"Never gets old, does it?" Bridget giggled.
A beep resounded from Edison's suit, and this caused both him and Geraldine to glance at each other, grinning wickedly.
"Oh, would you look at that, our secret weapon is ready," Edison laughed.
"Guess this is where we must bid you adieu for now," Geraldine cackled.
Edison activated a teleportation function on his suit to warp both him and Geraldine away before the spies could react.
"I dread to think about what he meant by that," Haruka noted.
"Spies, you might wanna hurry up and take to the sky," RiCO responded from Sam's X-Powder. "I just detected a really strong signal somewhere in the sky above the city!"
"Guess that's our cue, huh?" Sam stated. "Let's go and end this, shall we?"
With that, everyone took off into the sky to confront Geraldine and Edison's secret weapon.
To be concluded...

Next time...
Britney: Any sign of them?
Sam: Nothing yet, but I'll keep looking.
Alex: What exactly are those two nut loafs planning to do?
Mat: Knowing them, it can't be anything good.
Nozomi: I sincerely hope that Melvin guy got the message this time. Trust me, Nick's scary when he's angry.
Nick: One can only hope.
Michi: Hey, I think I see something over there.
Sortiliena: Watch out, everyone, here they come!
Geraldine: What do you think, spies? Is our weapon not magnificent?
Edison: This is where we wash our hands of you!
May: You really want to try your luck, you two? All right, then, we'll just trash this thing like all the rest, next time on the final act of Totally Spies: Lustful Lifeguards, "Topsy-Turvy Tides"!
Nozomi: ...um, Michi, what happened to your face?
Michi: I kinda took a bit of a splash during that last scene, so the makeup that makes the stitch on my face kinda... um, 'melted'.
Nick: At least it doesn't take much to re-apply, but you'd think they could make it at least somewhat water-proof, right?
