-en!"

Holding my head in pain. All I can hear is the piercing ring in my ears, but even then, I feel a tingle on my nape.

"Ren! Look out!"

Looking up too late, I feel something pierce my stomach.

-3700 HP!

I'm not given a chance to fight back, as I'm flung straight at the door I tried breaking down. "GAH!"

-450 HP!

Tables Have Turned Activated!

Slumped against the door, I stare up at the beast with hate. My current wounds were strenuous, and it was a miracle I could even handle that much pain.

Feeling the system begin to knit my wounds closed, I take a second to catch my breath. Picking myself up off the ground, I activate one of my new favorite skills.

"Bullet Time." Processing everything around me, I feel my heart fill with glee as I realize just how perfect this situation is. Then, I activate another new favorite.

"Telekinesis."

With each step or attack this beast previously made, destruction followed, leaving debris strewn all across the bridge. Or, as I currently saw it, ammunition.

"Hm, you are one annoying fucking deer, disgusting to look at too. I can't…Oh, right." It continues to struggle pathetically under all the rubble. "How do you like my reward for being so smart? Actually…if most of my spells scale off Int, which just so happens to be doubled right now…"

Smiling a not so heroic smile, I lift my outstretched arm toward its head. "I wonder if there will be anything left…Ah! Right."

"El Goa."

"Tsk." Replacing my now tattered clothes with one of the many spares in my inventory, I light the lamp that appeared after its death. "I need a drink."

Defeated Cleric Beast

Rewards: Insight x 3

Level Up x 3

Going up to the large door again, I try kicking it down once more. This time yields better results, splinters flying everywhere as a large dent is left where I kicked.

Warning!

Repeating this action will result in the death of many

'Wait…What?!' Putting my leg back down, I step away from the door. '2B! What the hell does that mean?'

"Exactly what it says, that door is what keeps most of the beasts outside of Yharnam."

'And you couldn't have said something earlier?!'

"Your previous attempt failed, so I had assumed this one would too."

"Haa…Whatever. I still need to find Beatrice and Rem, this world can end some other time." Heading back to the bridge's other end, I go through the other pathway. Down some stairs, I now find myself overlooking the ritual center from before on a more elevated area. 'This can't be all, right?'

Scanning the area, I find a small part filled with the same wooden coffins I had seen everywhere. "Fura." Wouldn't you know it, there was a hidden path leading down. 'Is there hidden paths all over? Or is this a one time thing?' Jumping down the hole, I find myself in the sewers.

"Guess I now know why the path was blocked." The smell that rose up my nostrils was horrible, all types of human waste mixed into one was not something I wanted to smell today, actually I never wanted to smell it…ever.

Killing all of the beasts in the upper part of the sewer, I unfortunately have to drop down to where all of the sewage is. 'Ugh…Gross.'

An idea pops up in my head as I look down into where I need to go. 'Remember what Echidna taught you…Magic is only limited by the mind.'

"El Huma." Freezing all of the sewage, a small chunk of my MP is drained.

-850 MP!

Dropping down into the now frozen sewage water, the ice remains in perfect condition. Looking around, I find rats the size of wolves stuck in the ice. Using my weapon to conserve my limited MP, they produce very little resistance. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think I'm in New York."

Killing the last of the rats, I quickly move out of the way from a sudden attacker. Their attack having been aimed more towards the ground causes their weapon to get stuck in the ice. This opening gives me ample opportunity to behead the beast.

"Attacking me while I'm distracted with your rat friends, not the dumbest plan, but I can hear you, y'know?" With their death, a small amount xp is given. 'Did I accidentally get too high level? The deer at the bridge actually injured me, but even it died quickly once I recomposed myself.'

'Actually…what level am I even at? Status.'

Closing the window, I let out a sigh. 'Did I grow too quickly? Life at the mansion was peaceful…it was quiet. Perhaps it was a second chance at living a normal life again…'

Shaking off such thoughts, I go back to what I was doing. "I need to find Beatrice and Rem! There's no point in thinking about such things now."

I killed beasts, met a crow woman, explored the rest of Yharnam, killed more beasts, and am now on an errand to find a child's parents.

New Quest!

A Child's Lost Parents

Objective: Find The Girl's Mother and Father. (Incomplete)

Reward: 5000 xp, 1000 G

Left with only one last place to explore, I head for the bridge I hadn't quite yet crossed. Using my increased speed and flexibility, it doesn't take long for me to arrive at the foot of the bridge. Taking out the turning townsfolk, I quickly cast a Fura, destroying the rolling ball of fire that was rolling my way.

A troll…"El Jiwald." With its head gone, the body rolls down the stairs. Walking past it, I kill anything in my way.

'A graveyard…I suppose something like this is commonplace in this world.' It's quiet. The eerie silence is soon replaced by the sound of butchering, something ripping through flesh with ease. Scanning through the place, my eyes land on a man at the end of the yard.

"...Beasts all over the shop…" I hear him mutter once I get closer. "...You'll be one of them, sooner or later…" Turning to me, I notice his beast-like features.

'Shit! He's already turning…' Summoning my cane from the inventory, I grab my pistol as well. Taking a few shots at him from a distance, I notice how ineffective they are.

Dodging out of the way, I narrowly miss being cleaved in half by his ax. 'What the hell?!' Turning my cane into a whip, I swing it at his ax in an attempt to stop him from attacking. My attack successfully lands, only for him to use the Blunderbuss at his hip.

Only a few of the pellets hit me, but the pain is excruciating as they are forcibly removed from my body by the system regeneration. Dodging out of the way again, the man continues to attack, not letting up at all. "El Sham-rk!"

'Who the hell is this guy?!' Blocking his attack, I kick him away before he can use his gun again. "Bloodlust!"

Bloodlust Failed!

'What…' Dodging another one of his crazed attacks, I use my Telekinesis to grab all nearby tombstones, and fling them at him. I watch on in shock as he blitzes right through them, continuing his attacks instead. "Tch! Damn it all…Bloodlust…

Bloodlust Successful!

Frozen in place, the Hunter's eyes widen at the sight of…certain death.

"Ul Huma."

-4875 MP

I don't know how many ice shards I called upon, but it was enough to cover the graveyard's entire sky.

Released from both his fear and awe, the hunter rushes at me, ax in his hands.

And, then…it rained.

Any resemblance to the previous graveyard this place may have once been is gone, all that remained was a frozen patch of land.

Ignoring the dead man at my feet, I walk past and light the lamp that appeared after the bombardment.

Quest Failed!

Return Mother's Broach (Failed)

'That was her dad?! Wait, her Mom was here?! Damn it…' Closing the window, another screen pops up.

Defeated Father Gascoigne!

Rewards: Insight x 2, Key to Oedon Chapel Gate.

Level Up! x 2

'What gate even is that?'

"How about the one in front of you?"

'Oh. That gate…Thanks 2B.' The stairs that led to the gate are frozen…who could've done that? "Goa." Fixing the stairs, I head for the surprisingly unfrozen gate. Using the key, the lock opens with a silent click, I push it open with a decent amount of strength. 'More stairs…'

Going the only way I can, I come across another sewer. "Ew…Ul Huma." Freezing the water, I go the only way I can, up a ladder. Thankfully, this one isn't as long as the others I was forced to climb on my way here, so my hands come out of it relatively fine.

"I'm finally inside somewhere that doesn't have enemies…" A small library…it doesn't seem to be used all that much. Sitting down on one of the chairs, I allow myself a minute of rest.

Five more minutes won't hur-

Quickly pulling myself out of the embrace and comfort of sleep, I continue onwards on my search.

"A chest!" Pulling it open, I get…tools. "What a scam…" Putting it into my Inventory, I go up more stairs. After what feels like a century of walking up these stairs, I am met with a nice looking door. Pushing it with the same amount of strength as the gate, I find it not budging. Using more force than should be necessary, it finally starts to open.

The keys' name was not incorrect, I was standing inside a Chapel. A relatively small one, but still big enough to be considered a Chapel.

But…the smell. Every house I walked past had incense, sure, but this place was practically filled with urns.

Ignoring the smell to my best ability, I begin to explore my surroundings.

Looking to my right, I see…something. I can't quite describe it, its arms are long and frail, it has a human head, but it looks unnatural. "...Hello? You're not a beast, are you?"

"...Hmm? Oh... you must be... a hunter. Very sorry, the incense must've masked your scent." They're not wrong, I was practically suffocating from the smell of the lit incense urns.

"Right. Quick question, have you happened to see or come across a child with blonde hair styled into drills? Possibly with a blue haired maid at her side?"

"...Ah, My apologies hunter, but my eyes…aren't as good as they used to be…but there have been two young ladies staying here…perhaps they are the ones you're looking for…"

"I see. Thank you..."

"...Ah, If you come across anyone with their wits about them…do send them this way…The incense wards off the beasts…" I leave him at that, a small amount of hope appearing at the chance to reunite with my spirit again. Finding another lamp in the center of the chapel, I light it quickly before moving on.

Now on the other side of the building, I find the two he mentioned on my right. They were bundled together, asleep.

One of them was a beautiful young woman with blue hair, dressed in her usual maid outfit, though the skirt was dirtied with my blood.

At her side is a cute blonde haired child, her hair styled into drill twin tails. I can't help but smile at the sight of the two.

Crouching down, I start to pat my contracted spirits head, with each pat she stirs in her sleep.

I feel my eyes water at finally seeing her again, letting a few tears flow, I quickly wipe them away. Recomposing myself, I shake her in an attempt to wake her.

Her eyes flutter from the light shaking, guess she's a fairly light sleeper. Once she's awake enough, our eyes meet, her beautiful irises in the shape of butterflies widen in seeing me. As I'm suddenly tackled by the great spirit, leaving me on the ground.

"Hey Beatrice…sorry I took so long." I comfort her as I feel her silently cry into my chest. "Don't worry…for I am here!" I hear a muffled giggle as she pulls away.

"...You are an idiot, I suppose." She says, without any real barb behind those words.

I decided to play along. "I am? Then, what does that make you?

"An even bigger idiot..?"

"Nope! You're Beatrice! The smartest, most adorably cute spirit a man could ever ask for!"

She smiles smugly at my praise, a smile not too different from the one she first showed me. "Well, Of course. Betty is the greatest spirit suited for her contractor, in fact."

"...You're totally right." Ruffling her hair, she doesn't stop me as I mess her hair up a little. "Remember what I promised to you?" Grabbing her hand, I restate our promise. "I'll be here, and if I'm not, I'll always make my way back."
