Thanksgiving Drawing Charades
(A/N: Happy Thanksgiving!)
The warm glow of candles filled Peach's Castle as the festive Thanksgiving dinner came to a close. The long dining table was now cleared, and the group had gathered in the cozy lounge. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, and you, Reginald, were ready for the night's grand finale: Drawing Charades.
"Alright, Reginald," said Daisy with a playful smirk, "are you ready for the ultimate challenge?"
You nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. "I was born ready."
Peach giggled, handing you the ornate bowl filled with 100 slips of paper. "Pick five without peeking!"
You reached in, carefully pulling out five slips and handing them to Mario and Luigi. The brothers leaned in close, unfolding each slip to read the words. Their eyes sparkled with mischief as they exchanged knowing glances.
"Turn around, Reginald!" Luigi called, chuckling. "No peeking while we draw!"
You obeyed, facing the crackling fireplace. Behind you, the scratch of markers on paper was accompanied by whispered discussions. They were clearly strategizing their artistic masterstrokes.
"Done!" Mario finally declared.
Peach shuffled the five cards face down and placed them in a neat stack on the table. The room grew silent. Daisy brought out a golden stopwatch and raised her hand dramatically.
"Here's the deal, Reginald," she said. "You've got sixty seconds to guess all five words. If you win, we'll fire the Thanksgiving cannon for a big surprise. If not…" Daisy trailed off, winking. "Let's just say the surprise might be less explosive."
You swallowed and took your place in front of the table. Luigi counted down. "Three… Two… One… Go!"
Mario flipped the first card. The drawing revealed what appeared to be a small oval shape, with a spiky crown on top. Your brain raced.
"Uh… Koopa shell?"
Mario shook his head vigorously. Luigi tapped the paper, pointing at the spikes.
"Spiny!" you shouted.
"Correct!" Mario cheered, flipping the next card.
This one was a blob-like shape with wavy lines around it, and Luigi had drawn a little sun in the corner.
"Cloud? No, wait… Boo in sunlight?"
Peach giggled from the couch. "You're close!"
You narrowed your eyes, catching the subtle lines. "Fog!"
"Yes!" Luigi flipped the third card. The stopwatch ticked loudly as you pressed on.
The third drawing was a simple mushroom, but instead of eyes, it had a question mark.
"Question Block Mushroom?"
Mario gave a thumbs-up. "Good enough—it's Mystery Mushroom!"
The fourth card revealed a stick figure holding a star. It looked triumphant, as if radiating power.
"Power Star? No—Super Star!"
"Correct!" shouted Luigi.
Twenty seconds left. The final card was flipped. This one had you stumped. Mario had drawn… a circle? With jagged teeth? Luigi had added what looked like a chain.
"Chomp Chomp… no, Chain Chomp!"
"That's it!" Mario yelled, throwing his hands in the air.
Peach clapped as Daisy slammed the stopwatch. "Fifty-four seconds! You did it, Reginald!"
Everyone rushed to the balcony. A massive golden cannon stood poised at the edge. Luigi pulled a lever, and with a thunderous BOOM, the cannon fired, sending a dazzling shower of golden confetti and sparkling stars into the night sky. From within the burst, giant balloons shaped like turkeys and power-ups floated gently down into Toad Town.
"Happy Thanksgiving, Reginald!" Peach said warmly.
Mario placed a hand on your shoulder. "You've earned it, pal. Best Drawing Charades partner we've ever had!"
As the confetti drifted around you, the night felt magical, filled with laughter, warmth, and friendship. You couldn't help but smile. Thanksgiving at Peach's Castle was definitely one for the history books.
