New Discovery Chapter 4

Lincoln, Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lisa arrived home, panting from the run, while Lincoln cradled baby Lily. After catching their breath for a few more minutes, they began to process the day's events at school. "Okay, we all know that what happened wasn't normal," Lincoln stated, prompting nods from his younger sisters. "You're right, Lincoln; something strange is happening at school," Lucy remarked, signaling agreement. "You mean something is happening to here," Lana observed. "Say that again; this is bizarre," Lola added. "Considering this, nothing like what we saw today should happen," Lisa concluded. "Poop, poop," Lily babbled, unaware of the ongoing conversation.

Before anyone else could speak, Lincoln noticed a green arrow pointing at the door. "Lincoln, what are you looking at?" Lola and Lana asked. "You guys can't see that?" Lincoln replied, still on the ground. They both shook their heads. "No, we don't understand. The green arrow on the ground," Lincoln said. "Big brother, I don't understand what you're talking about; there's no green arrow on the ground," they responded.

Lincoln appears confused, unable to grasp why his sisters overlook the arrow. Suddenly, the door bursts open, unveiling their four elder sisters, each with a unique expression: Lori looks scared, Leni seems puzzled, Luna is worried, and Luan is terrified. The younger siblings, noticing the distress on their older sisters' faces, are anxious to discover what has transpired.

Lucy admits that what happened scared them a bit, but they're calming down now. "Something weird happened to us, dude," Luna says. "Something weird happened to us too," Lola adds. They exchange glances, waiting for one of them to find the words to explain.

I was in chemistry class with Carol and Bobby, mixing chemicals, and everything was proceeding smoothly until my classmate Jake started mocking me. I got angry and yelled at him to leave me alone. Suddenly, for some reason, the chemical tube shattered, flames engulfed the table and chairs, and Jake was caught in the flames. This is how Lori explained her story.

In English class, our teacher asked us to write about our future aspirations and goals. I was excited because I knew what I wanted to achieve, but my excitement was dampened when a classmate mocked me, calling me an "Airhead," prompting laughter from everyone. However, in an unexpected turn of events, a gust of wind swept through the classroom, knocking everyone to the floor and resulting in the bully landing in the trash can. It served as a lesson to him, and while I was pleased, I remained puzzled about the mysterious source of the wind.

My friend and I were in band class, feeling quite bored. To lift everyone's spirits, I suggested playing a song. My friend and our teacher were on board, so we grabbed our instruments and began to play. The room filled with cheers, and just before the finale, I struck the last chord and exclaimed, "Rock and Roll rules!" Suddenly, a sound wave surged, knocking everyone to the ground, and the power went out.

In acting class, I auditioned for Juliet's role in "Romeo and Juliet," but an infuriating incident occurred: the light bulb, glass, and mirror shattered. Luan suggested hiding the scene where Mei kisses Beeny and the check.

The younger siblings were surprised when they heard the news and knew they needed to learn more about what had happened. "So, what happened to you guys?" Lori asked, eager to know their story. Within a few seconds, Lucy began to speak first.

I was outside reading my book when Sally, Rilly, and Kate started bullying me. Sally grabbed my hair, and I think I might have hit her because I had so much energy while I was trying to run away. After I escaped, I found myself back in the hallway, not sure how I got there, as some students rushed past me.

During class, we viewed 'The Jungle Book' film. As the bear made its entrance, I shut my eyes and reflected on the scene. Abruptly, a wave of screams erupted, with everyone claiming a bear had appeared; intrigued, I attempted to catch a glimpse, but it was too late. Lana noted that, inexplicably, crystals started to form, ripping through the school and causing the buildings to grow cold.

On my way back to class, I was blocked by three bullies. Dismissing their antics, I provoked their anger. As one attempted to attack, I sidestepped, causing him to tumble to the ground. Turning around, I saw the other two lunge at me; a quick backflip made them crash into each other. I took the opportunity to escape from the school. Then, mysteriously, the school started to freeze over. Arriving at Lily's school, we found it overrun with vines and a tree that had sprung up out of nowhere.

After finishing their stories, they were shocked to hear the news and couldn't believe it. "That's crazy," Luna exclaimed. "Yeah, our school will be closed for about a month or two, given what happened. They tried their best to fix it, but it's going to take some time," Lincoln explained. At that moment, Lincoln realized that Lola hadn't shared her experience. It wasn't long before everyone noticed that Lola hadn't mentioned anything about the theater.

"Hey, Lols, what up Lana say to her twin?" But Lola remained silent, her expression one of anger. "Lola, are you okay? What happened?" Lincoln inquired, sensing something was troubling her. Without a word, Lola walked away, heading to the kitchen where the children's table was. Before she could speak, she felt a hand grasp hers. Turning around, she saw it was Lincoln, her older and only brother.

Lola attempted to push his hand away, but Lincoln persisted, knowing that if his sisters were troubled, he needed to understand the issue before it escalated. Lola may seem tough, but at heart, she's a child learning the difference between right and wrong. "Lola, please tell me what's bothering you; I'm worried about you," Lincoln implored with a hint of sadness in his voice. Lola paused, her sniffles subsiding, and Lincoln released his grip, sensing she was grappling with something.

"Sorry, Lola, I didn't mean to make you cry," Lincoln apologized, but Lola interrupted him. "No, Lincoln, it's not that. I was picked on and ridiculed at school," Lola said, her voice tinged with anger and sadness. "Who's making fun of you?" Luna asked, but Lana already knew. "Let me guess, Lindsay Sweetwater?" Lana suggested. Lola nodded, then spoke up. "That Lindsay Sweetwater always mocks me, and I just... I just..." Lola trailed off, too angry to continue at the mention of Lindsay Sweetwater's name. She was about to punch the kiddie table when her hand transformed into a pink crystal fist, shattering the table.

Lola opened her eyes to find the table shattered beyond repair. Glancing at her right hand, she screamed, sending her sibling into shock. "Lola, what happened to your hand?" Leni asked. "I don't know," Lola replied, confused. "Lola, you literally destroyed the kiddie table," Lori observed, her hand ablaze with embers. "Lori, your hand is on fire," Lincoln exclaimed, just before an accident froze the floor, causing everyone to slip and fall.

Before they could rise, the door swung open with force, and a familiar voice filled the room, one that didn't bring comfort but irritation to Stickin. Lincoln recognized it immediately; it was his older sister, Lynn Loud Jr. Her gaze met his, and it was clear she was furious.

Lynn Jr. glares at her little brother, anger evident in her eyes. Lincoln looks back at her, confusion clouding his face, not understanding why she's upset. "Lynn, why are you mad at me?" he asks. "Because of you and that stupid orb, I've broken the power box by swinging the bat during a baseball game, and now I've been kicked off the team," Lynn accuses. Feeling guilty, Lincoln begins to speak. "Sorry, Lynn, I didn't mean to," he says, only making Lynn Jr. even angrier.

"Oh, you're going to be sorry," Lynn Jr. says, charging at Lincoln. Lincoln tried to find a way to dodge Lynn until he spotted a weak spot, calculated her speed, and saw a green line above her. Without wasting time, he ran and jumped just in time over Lynn, leaving her and the rest of his sisters astonished. But Lynn Jr. is not one to give up; she keeps charging at Lincoln, but he keeps dodging, making her even angrier. Lincoln was cornered with no exit in sight. "Now you're going to get it, Stink," she threatened. The Loud sisters pleaded with Lynn Jr. to stop and even tried to restrain her, but she was just too strong.

Lincoln looks around and realizes there is no escape. Lynn Jr. gives him an evil smile. "Time to pay, Stinkin'!" Lynn Jr. dashes towards him. Lincoln takes a chance and decides to jump. As Lynn Jr. dashes, she hits the wall, and the sisters look on with worry. Leni, with sadness in her eyes, closes them and pleads, "Please stop," as the wind begins to stir. Lynn Jr. turns to the wall, noticing Lincoln is gone. "Where is he?" Lynn Jr. murmurs, searching for him.

"I think you want to look at the sky," Luan joked, but everyone ignored her except Lynn Jr., who looked up and saw Lincoln—not standing, but floating in the air. "What in the world?" exclaimed Lynn Jr. "He's literally in the sky," Lori observed. "Lincoln can fly?" both twins said in unison. "I didn't know the little dude could fly!" "That's not flying; he's floating," Lisa clarified.

But Lynn Jr. didn't care; she was about to unite with Lincoln when a strong wind swept her away. "Where is this wind coming from?" Lynn Jr. exclaimed. "Stop it, stop it!" Leni cried out. The rest of the sisters watched as a wind tornado swirled around Leni, realizing she was controlling the tornado. "Leni, calm down, dude," Luna urged, but she made a loud noise, causing the other sisters, including Lincoln, to cover their ears.

"Sorry, dude," Luna says, but as she slips on the ice, the lights and power flicker erratically. "The house is a mess," Lori declares, observing the ember on her arm. Luan notices and grabs the fire extinguisher, using it on Lori, which only makes her angrier at Luan. "Luan!" Lori yells, and in a bizarre twist, Luan turns into glass. "Oh my gosh, Luan is glass!" exclaims Leni. Lucy, witnessing this, becomes slightly scared and turns invisible.

"Hey, where did Lucy go?" Lola asked, looking around. "I don't know," Lana replied, rubbing her hands together. "Man, I wish Charles was here," Lana muttered, but then something unexpected happened, leaving Lisa and Lola in shock. "Lana, you've turned into a dog!" Lisa exclaimed. Lana glanced at the mirror and saw her new canine reflection. "Wow, I'm a dog! This is the best day of my life!" Lana exclaimed, unaware that the mirror was Luan. "How in the world?" Luan wondered aloud.

Lisa's head began to throb intensely. "This headache is interfering with my high IQ," Lisa remarked, clutching her head in agony. Objects began to tumble around her; chairs slid across the floor, and the table flipped over, scattering items onto the ground. Amidst the chaos, a loud child added to the disarray, and the noise became overwhelming. Lily watched her sibling with growing concern, her eyes welling up with tears.

The noisy sibling continued to grapple with issues and conflict until the sound of crying and the sight of vines sprouting from the ground caught their attention. "Where are these vines coming from?" Lincoln wondered aloud, still levitating. "Who's crying?" Leni asked. As the siblings looked around to identify the source of the crying and the origin of the vines, they noticed Lily in tears. They were filled with regret for upsetting their youngest sister. Lori and Leni started to relax, their flame and tornado fading away. Luna rose to her feet, regaining her poise; Luan returned the mirror to its original state; Lynn Jr. assisted Lincoln back to the thawing ground; Lucy reverted to her normal self; Lana transformed the dog back into her human form; Lola changed her crystal fist back into a hand; and Lisa's mind settled as she moved to comfort Lily.

When they reached Lily, they embraced her, which soothed her and allowed her to speak. "We are so sorry, Lily, for making you cry," the loud sibling said. Lily ceased crying, and the vine stopped growing. Observing the state of the house, which looked terrible, the loud sibling asked, "So, what do we do now, and what happens to us?" "First, let's clean up before Mom and Dad get home, then we'll figure out what happened," Lincoln suggested. "That's a good idea," Lori agreed, prompting all the other siblings to nod in agreement.
