(A/N)

Hello readers.

Welcome to this fun new story of mine…. Pokémon Risings!

The idea admittedly came out of nowhere while discussing this with my friend, The 3rd Dragneel. And the idea we came up with is various anime characters in the world of Pokémon.

Now this is a big one as it's not one franchise. Not two franchises. Not three franchises. But multiple franchises. Granted I won't be doing EVERY franchise. I'm not that ambitious. However, I think it'll be fun to have different characters travel the world, catching pokemon, making friends and memories along the way, anything a Pokémon trainer would do.

One of my main reasons for making this is because I'm a huge Pokémon fan. I've been following the series ever since I was a kid and It's the franchise I associate myself with the most.

I bet you guys are wondering, what are the rules? Well, let's elaborate.

One character per series. Though others that are connected to that specific character will be present, but they will be in minor roles.

Some trainers will specialize in a type, but I want to make them as versatile as possible. Limit can be 2-3 of the same type

The Pokémon roster will range from Gen 1 to Gen 9 only. If a Gen 10 was made, then it won't be included.

This region is manmade, but will have at least some references to the actual Pokémon lore as well.

The characters will have their skills, but not their original powers. They'll be referenced through their Pokémon team.

Now that we got the rules out of the way. Stock up on some pokeballs and wear your running shoes because we're about to start this new journey.

Welcome to Fierne

A dark sphere is shown in the sky before a light shines down on it, revealing a mechanical device colored in red, white, and black with a white button in the middle. The device descends down before landing in the hands of a tall and slim young man with deep, green-gray eyes. The man's attire consists of a pair of glasses, a beige vest over a black long-sleeved dress shirt, a red ribbon tied into a bow around the collar, beige pants, and plain brown shoes. He completes his attire with a giant white lab coat.

"Greetings new trainers. I am Doppo Kunikida." He introduced himself with his eyes closed. "And I am the Pokémon Professor of the Fierne Region. The world is inhabited by these creatures called Pokémon and you can catch these devices called Pokeballs. Say hello to the world, Farfetch'd!"

Professor Kunikida then flips the pokeball up in the air before it opens, sending out a light brown duck with a white underbelly. It has a flat, yellow beak, brown eyes, a V-shaped black marking on its forehead, a three-feather crest on top of its head, big wings that work like hands, yellow legs with webbed feet and a stubby tail.

"(Hello)!" Farfetch'd quacked while waving with his free wing.

"You can find most of these creatures roaming in the open fields, flying in the skies, crawling in trees, lurking in caverns, swimming in the ocean, or even casually walking by in cities." Professor Kunikida explains professionally. "People and Pokemon live side by side. You can own them as pets or as battle partners. They can even be used in showcases or with any occupation."

Takoba Town

"To any aspiring trainers watching this presentation, allow me to give you this advice." Professor Kunikida started calmly in a video before opening his eyes with a burning passion. "Befriend any Pokémon or trainer you come across and be sure to treasure every single moment with one another. If you desire to learn more, then come on over to Aramo City in the Fierne Region and attend Pokémon Academy! We welcome you with open arms!"

With that, the video ended on a Rotom Phone, which is floating in front of a male teenager with messy dark green hair, large eyes with green irises, and freckles on his cheeks. His attire consists of a white shirt with an Ultra Ball symbol in the middle, black shorts, red shoes, and a green cap. This is Izuku Midoriya, an average boy who is a fan of Pokemon.

"Pokemon Academy…" Izuku started. "I've already sent my applications, so hopefully I get accepted into the school."

"Hey, there's a Pokemon Battle going on!" Izuku can see a few citizens rushing down the streets, prompting Izuku to follow the crowd and see what's going on.

On the left corner, there's a male trainer with a large, rotund, amphibian Pokémon with an extremely elastic and squishy body that's mainly green, orange patterns on its head, back, and lower body, along with small orange feet. A rounded cross is seen on top of its head, while the patterns on its lower body are chevron-shaped. The pattern on its back consists of two orange chevrons and a lightning bolt shape, surrounding an orange circle with a yellow dot at the center.

On the right corner, there's another male trainer with a monkey Pokemon with light beige, shaggy fur. It has triangular ears with pink insides, narrow eyes with tiny pupils, a pink, snout-like nose, brown arms and legs that have metal shackles on the wrists and ankles, hands with no visible fingers, resembling mittens or boxing gloves, and two-toed feet.

"Your Bellibolt is no match for my Primeape." Trainer 2 laughed with a grin.

"We'll soon see about that." Trainer 1 said back while adjusting his glasses.

"Primeape and Bellibot…" Izuku stared at the two Pokemon. "Both are really strong Pokemon. This is going to be good!"

"One look at that dopey grin and I can tell what you are…" A middle aged man said before smirking. "A fanboy."

"Y-Yeah sorta.." Izuku laughed awkwardly.

"There's nothing to be embarrassed about, kid." The middle aged man patted Izuku's back. "I'm like that too when I was your age. And by the looks of those two Pokemon, this is one going to be an interesting fight."

"Bellibolt, use Mud Shot!" Trainer 1 commanded as the EleFrog Pokemon took a deep breath before firing a barrage of mud balls from its mouth at Primeape.

"Heh, Pathetic." Trainer 2 scoffed. "Primeape, power through with Close Combat!"

Primeape howls with anger before rapidly punching through the Mud Shot, quickly approaching Bellibolt before proceeding to punch and kick Bellibolt numerous times before finishing it with one big punch.

"(That tickled)." Belibolt croaked as its entire body is now covered in sparks of yellow electricity.

"But how!?" Trainer 2 exclaimed in shock.

"I've trained my Bellibolt to withstand attacks so I can fully utilize Electromorphosis." Trainer 1 said. "Whenever it gets hit by an attack, it takes the damage and charges up, allowing me to do more damage with an electric type move."

"Excuse me!?" Trainer 2 gritted his teeth while Primeape gained a tick mark.

"Allow me to demonstrate. Belibolt, use Parabolic Charge!" Trainer 1 commanded.

Belibolt fires an electric sphere into the air, which shoots out multiple blasts of lightning at Primeape. As this happens, Belibolt is glowing green. The attack kept up for a while until Belibolt stopped, causing Primeape to puff out smoke from its nostrils before fainting.

"No Primeape!" Trainer 2 cried in agony as he returned his fainted pokemon back into its pokeball. He grumbles and runs off before shouting- "I'LL BEAT YOU ONE DAY!"

"(What a sore loser)." Bellibolt croaked with a sweatdrop.

"Don't mind him, Bellibolt." Trainer 1 said, petting the EleFrog Pokemon. "You did good today."

"(Thank you)!" Bellibolt smiled.

Once Trainer 1 returns his Belibolt and leaves, the crowd begins to die down as everyone is going back to what they were doing. Izuku, on the other hand, expanded his Rotom phone into a tablet and took out a digital pen before writing notes down.

"Electromorphosis… Belibolt certainly has a good ability that makes it a force to be reckoned with… but it'll be difficult if the opponent uses a status infection move or a stage hazard attack…" Izuku starts mutterting nonstop with a serious analytical look on his face as he keeps writing.

"What's that, fanboy? Taking notes over there?" The middle aged man asked, giving him a thumbs up. "Does this mean you want to be a Pokemon Trainer too?"

"Huh?" Izuku looks up and turns to the middle aged man. "Yes. More than anything. And someday, I would like to battle the Champion of Fierne."

"You sure got ambitions, kid." The middle aged man laughed before grinning. "When that time comes, I'll be supporting you."

"Thanks. I'll do my best." Izuku smiles.

Raizen Town

In a small house, a young man with blue hair is sleeping in bed in spite of his alarm clock going off. This is Shido Itsuka, a responsible man who looks after his younger sister.

"Wake up, brother! Wake up!" Shido grumbles as he pulls the sheets over himself the moment a cute young girl with fiery red hair barged in and started hopping and dancing on top of her brother. This is Kotori Itsuka, Shido's younger sister.

"Kotori… Get off.." Shido groans in his sleep. "Please sis…"

Kotori laughs as she jumps up in the air. "You ready Skitty!?" She calls out as a small pink kitten runs into the room.

"(Wakey Wakey Shido)!" Skitty meows as it jumps in the air before descending down with Kotori. Kotori lands a dive kick and Skitty headbutts its head directly on Shido's stomach.

"Oww!" Shido groans in pain as he opens his eyes, revealing his brown irises. "What the heck was that for!?"

"Sorry, but we have to wake you up." Kotori giggles with a wink.

Shido grumbles before laying back down, covering his entire body with his blanket.

"Seriously!?" Kotori starts to get annoyed as she sits down and shakes her brother by the shoulders repeatedly. "Can you please wake up!?"

"Kotori… Take Skitty and Run…." Shido demanded, sounding like he's possessed.

"B-But why?" Kotori gulped.

"(What are you doing)?" Skitty asked.

"Kotori... I am the Banette that you created... when you abandon your stuff Eevee…" Shido moaned like a ghost.

"N-No… I-I-It can't be…!" Kotori gasped in horror.

Shido removes the cover before he roars like an Ursaring, scaring Kotori and Skitty as the two scurry out of his room in fear. Shido took a deep breath, finally able to get a moment to himself.

"Alright, better get ready." Shido stretches before getting out of bed. He then dresses up in a white shirt with a red diagonal stripe, a long sleeve blue button shirt, navy blue pants, and black sneakers.

After getting ready, Shido walks downstairs and notices a table flipped to its side. Confused, he glances over and sees a trembling Kotori hugging Skitty.

"(Kotori, you're crushing me)!" Skitty squirms in Kotori's strong grasp.

"I'm sorry, Skitty.." Kotori whimpers in fear. "I don't want Banette to haunt me all my life.."

Shido can hear the two before grinning as he decides to mess with them a bit more. He gets on his knees and crawls around the couch. Once he hears the two calm down, he jumps out of hiding and lets out another roar.

"Ahhh! Don't hurt me Banette!" Kotori screams as she gets up and backs away from her possessed brother.

"It's okay Kotori. It's only me." Shido laughed slightly.

"A-Are you sure?" Kotori asked with watery eyes.

"Yes, I am a very good friend to you." Shido reassured her while holding a hand up. "I'm Kotori 's big brother."

Kotori calms down before laughing with relief.

"I'll go make breakfast." Shido said as he put on a black apron. "Can you fill up Skitty's food and water bowl?"

"You got it!" Kotori saluted before walking to the counter, filling a red bowl with Pokémon food and a blue bowl with water. She grabs the two bowls and sets them on the floor. "Here you go, Skitty."

"(Thank you)!" Skitty meows before walking over and starts eating.

Shido grabs an egg and cracks it as Kotori sits on the couch and turns on the tv, which is playing news about the new enrollments at Pokémon Academy.

"Hey big bro, you said you've sent your applications for the academy, right?" Kotori recalled.

"Pokémon Academy?" Shido looks back. "That's right. I should be able to get a response from them soon. But what about you? Will you be okay when I'm gone?"

"Relax, Shido." Kotori smiled. "You taught me how to cook and clean. Besides, I got the neighbors and Skitty with me to keep me company."

"(She's right)." Skitty nodded while doing a small salute with its hand-like tail.

"Well, if you say so. I'll be sure to call every now and then to see how you're holding up." Shido smiles before looking a bit strict. "But you guys better not go too crazy with the sweets while I'm gone. It's important to have a balanced diet. Understood?"

"Y-Yes big bro." Kotori squeaked weakly.

"(Please stop glaring at us)!" Skitty whimpered from intimidation.

"Good." Shido smiles as he pets Kotori on the head. "Come on, let's go eat breakfast. You don't want to be late for school."

"Okay!" Kotori smiles as she sits at the table and eats.

Shido couldn't help but chuckle to himself from his sister's energy. He then looks at the broadcast of Pokémon Academy.

'Maybe I could figure out what I want to do over there. And if I'm lucky… I could find out what happened to mom and dad.'

Petral Town

In a peaceful town of Petral, a few customers are chattering amongst each other about their daily activities and enjoying their brunch Café LycoReco.

"Here you go, one BLT." A blonde girl with red eyes served, wearing a red samue with dark blue and lime-green accents, a dark blue kimono skirt, and a beige apron wrapped around her waist. This is Chisato Nishikigi, a happy go lucky girl who works at Cafe LycoReco.

"Thanks Chisato." A male customer smiled as Chisato continued placing orders on the table. "I hear you're going to Pokemon Academy. Is that true?"

"Ding ding ding." Chisato said, waving her index finger to the sound she made. "I've submitted my applications and I'm currently playing the waiting game. I can't wait to study there and become a performer!"

"A Pokémon Performer?" An elderly customer asked.

"My, what a wonderful dream." An elderly lady smiled sweetly. "Just make sure you don't end up like those prideful egotists who are only concerned about fame."

"Don't worry." Chisato reassured as she served the elderly people cups of tea. "Sure, I'd like to be famous, but I want to be someone like Inglis!"

"The Champion of Fierne?" The customers gasp and look at Chisato in shock.

"What? She's strong, beautiful, and awesome." Chisato sighs happily.

"Hey boss." A customer sitting at the counter looks at a dark skinned male with glasses. This is Mika, Chisato's adoptive dad. "How do you feel about this?"
"Me?" Mika asked while brewing coffee before giving it to the customer. "Well, I'm obviously happy for her."

"I will admit. The place won't be as lively the moment she leaves for the academy." The customer confessed.

"Don't worry. I'll make sure to drop by during my trip." Chisato said as she overheard the conversation.

"And when you come by, make sure to perform for us!" A male customer shouted as the other agreed with him.

"Yeah, you got the athletic skills!"

"Not to mention you're a real cutie!"

Chisato couldn't help but giggle from the praises she's getting from the customers. She's definitely going to miss working here in the cafe once her journey starts.

Aramo City, 3 Weeks Later

In a fancy penthouse, an emotionless looking girl with medium-length reddish-brown hair, with a few strands of hair hanging over the right side of her face and a pair of blue glasses, is listening to something through her blue wireless headphones with blue triangles on each ear cup. Her attire consists of a sky blue long-sleeved sweater over a white buttoned up shirt, navy blue pants, and black shoes. This is Miku Nakano, a reserved girl who's the daughter of someone rich.

"Okay, that should be everything." A girl with red hair, yellow star hair pins near her eyes walked out of a room, Her attire consists of a white shirt with poofy sleeves underneath a red dress. This is Itsuki Nakano, Miku's younger sister. "Hey Miku. You're ready to go?"

Miku didn't seem to respond as she seemed to be too focused on her music with her eyes closed. Itsuki sighs before approaching her older sister and tapping her on the shoulder.

"Eep!" Miku yelped and shot her eyes open, only to see her redhead sister. She then removes her headphones and lets it rest around her neck as it audibly plays Believe in Me. "Oh, it's just you Itsuki."

"What is it you're listening to that made you ignore me?" Itsuki questioned.

"It's just a documentary." Miku answers as she pauses the music.

"Oh really?" Itsuki's curiosity has peaked as she got close to her sister.

"You wouldn't like it." Miku responds by shutting her Rotom phone off.

"Alright.." Itsuki pouted. "But let's hurry up. We're getting an early start at the academy."

"I hear you." Miku gets up and grabs her luggage before the sister exits out of their penthouse. The sisters then enter the elevator as it begins to descend.

"Shame Ichika, Nino, and Yotsuba couldn't come with us." Itsuki sighs while looking at picture of Itsuki and Miku with three other girls, one with short pink hair, the other with salmon pink hair and butterfly hairpins on the side, and the last one with short orange hair with a green ribbon.

"They don't have their sights set on Pokemon Academy like us." Miku states. "Besides, we can still call and visit them."

"I know." Itsuki smiles. "How strange. It feels like yesterday we're spending time together and now today we're chasing our separate dreams. Nino is going to culinary school, Ichika is going to become an actress, and Yotsuba is going to be an athlete."

"All the while the two of us are studying Pokemon." Miku says as the elevator reaches the bottom floor before the two make their way out of the building. "To think Dad was actually kind enough to let us go to the academy."

"Well he is good friends with Professor Kunikida." Itsuki noted.

The sisters keep walking down the sidewalk and are about to cross the street. Miku puts her headphones on and walks ahead of her sister until…

"I'M LATE! I'M LATE!" Itsuki hears someone shouting and turns around and sees a frantic Izuku running superfast.

"MIKU! LOOK OUT!"

"Huh?" Miku lowers her headphones. "I didn't hear what you- AHHH!"

*BUMP, CRASH*

Izuku bumps right into Miku as the two fall onto their butts on the concrete floor with Miku's glasses in front of her feet.

"Watch where you're going…" Miku groans while placing a hand on her forehead.

"I-I'm so sorry!" Izuku apologized as he grabbed Miku's glasses before holding them out to her. "Here you go."

Miku looks up at Izuku before taking the glasses and putting them back on. "Thanks." She says before getting up and wiping the dust off her clothes.

"You should be careful!" Itsuki scolded Izuku with a pout. "What if you ran into something worse?"

"I-I'm sorry!" Izuku bowed. "I was so focused on packing my stuff, I lost track of the time."

"No, it's my fault." Miku says while holding a hand up. "I didn't hear you shout because of my headphones. I should've been more careful of my surroundings."

"But I still bumped into you and made you drop your glasses." Izuku clarified with a frown.

Miku couldn't help but smile. "Let bygones be bygones?"

"Agree." Izuku smiles back. "Are you two heading to Pokemon Academy?"

"We are. Want to walk along with me and my sister?" Miku offered.

"A-Are you sure?" Izuku stuttered. 'Am I dreaming? A girl asked to walk to school with her!'

"As long as you don't do anything stupid." Itsuki warned.

"I promise I won't do anything weird." Izuku swore.

"Alright. Come with us." Miku says as she, Itsuki, and Izuku resume walking. "What's your name?"

"I-Izuku Midoriya." He stuttered. "And you are?"

"I'm Itsuki Nakano." She says. "And this is my older sister, Miku."

"Wait, so you're twins?" Izuku asked.

"More like Quintuplets." Miku clarified while looking at her Rotom Phone. "Our other sisters are attending different schools."

"I see.. Does this mean you two want to learn more about Pokemon?" Izuku asked.

"Well, our dad made arrangements for us. But I'm not opposed to the idea." Itsuki answered. "I know I want my starter Pokemon to be adorable~ What about you, Izuku?"

"Me?" Izuku looks up in the sky before crossing his arms. "Good question… Picking a starter isn't easy. You got to go with one where you know how to raise and form a friendship with, but also reliable in battle. Having a specific type helps out, but it also comes down to what you catch, what you plan to do…"

Itsuki couldn't help but feel weirded out by Izuku's non stop muttering, causing her to slowly inch away from the green haired boy. Miku glances over and hears Izuku's rant before sighing.

"I want a Pokémon who I can share an adventure with. I'm not really interested in gyms or contests. I just…" Miku paused before turning to Izuku and Itsuki. "I want to know more about Pokémon."

"Wait, you understood what he just said?" Itsuki asked.

"Well yeah. You didn't?" Miku raised a brow.

"Yeah because he was talking too fast!" Itsuki exclaimed.

"I see…" Miku says, turning her focus back to her Rotom Phone and putting her headphones back on.

"Sorry, old habit." Izuku apologized with an awkward laugh. "But your sister has a good reason to be a trainer."

"She is the smartest out of the five of us." Itsuki says. "I just wish she can break out of that shell of hers."

"She doesn't talk to a lot of people?" Izuku questioned Itsuki with a slightly concerned look on his face.

"Not really. Me and our other sisters are the only ones she can talk to. Even then, it's not a whole lot." Itsuki answered.

"Well… Take it from someone who's as socially awkward. It's good you're there for her." Izuku said with a smile. "I wish I had someone like that."

"O-Oh! I'm sorry, Izuku! I wasn't trying to-" Itsuki began to apologize.

"No no! It's fine." Izuku waved his hands. "Talking about this is nice. And if you'd like, I could… help?"

The redhead stared at him for a moment before giggling, much to his embarrassment.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I shouldn't laugh." Itsuki wiped away a tear.

"It's not funny…" Izuku fidgeted his fingers sheepishly.

"You're right. I just never expected a stranger to offer a helping hand. Normally, I'd think you were a pervert trying to take my sister."

"WHAT!?" Izuku's face heats up. "Why would I be perverted to a girl I just met!?"

"I mean…" Itsuki gestured to her own body, making Izuku turn red.

'I never even noticed!'He thought before looking away out of courtesy.

"But you don't seem like any other guy. I like that." Itsuki smiled. "Okay. I'll trust you for now."

*RING*

The school bell began to ring, making the two gasp. "Oh no! We'll be late!" With that, Izuku and the Nakano sisters rushed to class.

Pokemon Academy, Gateway

Shido exited the bus with a stretch, probably from sitting for a long time. He looked up at the entrance with a big sign that reads Pokemon Academy with a Pokeball below.

"This is it.. Pokemon Academy." He muttered to himself. "My parents used to attend this school. Maybe I could find more clues about them." Putting on a pair of earphones, Shido played some tunes as he walked towards the school.

"I can't believe we're in the same class!" A female student cheers as she's chatting with a few of her friends, one of them being Chisato, who is now wearing a long red vest with short sleeves over a white shirt, gray and red pleated skirt held up by a brown belt, black knee-high socks, and brown boots.

"This day is already at a good start." Chisato hums with delight. "Hey, are you going to be competing in showcases?"

"I actually plan to be an explorer." Her friend replied.

"I'm going to be competing in the Pokemon League."

"I wanna get a boyfriend!" Some of the girls gave the speaker a look, making her pout. "Well, it's what I want! A little romance isn't bad, right Chisato?"

"Well, it's not bad. It really comes down to what kind of boy you want." Chisato explains. "I mean, I wouldn't mind a boyfriend, but there's a lot on my mind. Oh right! I almost forgot."

Chisato reaches into her bag and takes out an article. On the front cover, there's a young female adult with long whitish-silver hair and red eyes. Her attire consists of a white buttoned up shirt underneath black leather breastplate, gloves, a silver shoulder pad on the left with a pokeball and wing insignia attached to a red cape, blue skirt with gold trim, white thigh high socks, and black boots with silver linings.

"Is that the newest article about Inglis?" A girl asked.

"Mhm. I'm gonna read her latest interview." Chisato opens the magazine and starts reading, unaware of a few students walking by, including Shido.

"Harbi Town was in for the surprise of a lifetime when Champion Inglis won a battle during an event. When asked what drives her to battle, she says…"

"I could feel the determination of both trainers. And it burns my very soul! But I hope to find the perfect challenger one day to dethrone me. That's why I encourage everyone to try your hand at the Pokémon League, and surpass your limit!"

"Wow, we got a few cute boys this year." A girl gushed.

"Some are even good looking too." Another girl swooned.

"That blonde guy looks hot!"

"Oh, check out the guy with the purple eyes..."

"The blue haired boy ain't bad either. Say Chisato~ Which guy is your favorite~?"

"Huh? Did you guys say something?" Chisato perked her head up from the magazine.

"Aww man, you missed out." Her friend pouted.

"On what?" Chisato gives the girls a puzzled look on her face before hearing the school bell ring. "Oh! Orientation is about to start! Let's hurry!"

All Chisato's friends did was sigh before they followed her. At this rate, they're worried she might be single forever.

Auditorium

As the students took their seats, a few began to chatter with each other about various topics. This continued until Doppo Kunikida entered the stage and tapped on the microphone a few times.

"May I have your attention please?" He spoke up, silencing the entire room. "Thank you. Greetings students, I'm the principal of the Pokemon Academy, Professor Kunikida. This place was found a few years ago by my predecessor."

"Whoa, Professor Kunikida in person…" Izuku whispered to himself with sparkly eyes. "He's so cool!" He was then shushed, much to his embarrassment.

"Firstly, I want to welcome you all to the academy." Kunikida spoke up. "All of you have applied here because you're searching for a purpose. And that's why we're here: to guide and teach you everything you need to succeed. But for all new and returning students, there is an alternative."

"An alternative?"

"Wait… is this…?"

"The alternative is the Exploration Program." Kunikida said before the entire audience shouted in excitement.

"Exploration Program?" Shido asked no one in particular.

"As you all know, Pokemon Trainers travel throughout the region, battling Gym Leaders, obtaining the necessary amount of Gym Badges in order to compete in the Pokemon League for a chance at becoming Champion. This tradition has been going on since before our academy was founded." Kunikida began to lecture. "And we would like to continue this tradition without ignoring your studies. With that said, allow me to explain the Exploration Program." He nodded towards the technician, who quickly lowered a screen from above, moving it just above the professor. Soon, the screen turned on, showing a map of the Caldea(Forgot what region this is lol) Region. "Firstly, this program is only acceptable for 2nd and 3rd years. So unfortunately, 1st year students will not be able to participate."

"Awww man…" Some of the 1st years sighed in disappointment.

"Secondly, this program will allow our students to travel the region as registered Pokemon Trainers. This will last for the entire school year, though if you are not comfortable with the journey or find that it is not for you, you are more than welcome to return." Kunikida then showed a student I.D. "Your student will be programmed with a pass function so that you may be able to travel via bus and/or boat, free of charge. Just know that once your journey has concluded or you decide to return, the function will seize."

"Wow. Who knew we'd be getting so many benefits?" One of Chisato's friends commented before looking over to said girl, who had a big smile on her face. "Chisato?"

"Oh my gosh, this is what I've been waiting for!" Chisato squealed quietly with joy and sparkled in her red eyes. "Just think, we could run into Inglis! If I did, I would SOOOOOO die happy~!"

"Well, she's excited." Itsuki giggled, not too far from Chisato.

"She's too loud…" Miku muttered, trying to pay attention to the professor.

"Settle down. I know this is all exciting, but we must stay on task." Kunikida reminded everyone with a glare, causing the commotion to cease with Chisato sitting down with an awkward laugh and blush. "Thank you. Now as I was saying, for all you 2nd and 3rd years, you have 2 days to decide. Should you choose to do so, on Friday, you will be given your very own Pokemon partner."

Many of the students got excited about the idea of receiving a Pokemon. But the teachers soon calmed them down so the professor could continue.

"Remember that Pokemon are not simply pets or tools. They are your partners from day one, and you must care for them as they will care for you. The stronger your bond is with your Pokemon, the more you'll achieve." Kunikida then held his fist high with a proud look on his face. "Any one of you could be the next Champion!"

With that, the students cheer and clap with excitement from Kunikida's passionate words of encouragement.

"That is all I have for my speech today. May I wish you all the best for your school year." Kunikida finishes with a bow before exiting out of the stage.

The students began leaving the auditorium one by one while some began chatting about what they heard from the professor.

"We're getting starter Pokemon if we chose to do our journey?"

"And if our journey ends or if we return to the school for good, that's it."

"I'm not sure if I want to study or explore Fierne."

Shido is looking down at his feet with a serious expression. He came for a reason, but what would he choose?

"Do I stay to study? Or go around the world? Either way, I have two days to decide." He muttered with a small sigh. "Maybe I should ask the teachers about my parents first. They might know something."

School Hallways, After School

"Aww, looks like we'll be in different classes." Itsuki pouted as she and Miku were holding a sheet of paper with their school schedule written down.

"I can't be that surprised." Miku says with her eyes closed. "Schedules are determined by randomization. By the way, have you decided on what you want to do?"

"I think I might stick with studying." Itsuki confessed. "As tempting as it is to explore, I want to play it safe. What about you, Miku? Are you going to stay in school with me?" She noticed Miku staying silent. "Miku?"

"No." Miku answers instantly, making her sister widen her eyes. "I think it's best if I travel. I want to see the entire region of Fierne, learn new things, and meet new people. If I'm stuck in school, I won't be able to grow." Miku then turns around and sees Itsuki, who's now sniffing with tears in her eyes, making the monotone girl raise a brow. "Did I say something wrong?"

"MIKU!" Itsuki cries with joy before hugging Miku tightly, earning a squeak from her sister and a few awkward stares from some nearby students. "I'LL MISS YOU, BUT I'M SO PROUD YOU'RE BREAKING OUT OF YOUR SHELL!"

"Itsuki, we're in public…" Miku grumbles with slanted glasses from Itsuki's clingy hug.

"Can't I hug my big sister!? Let me do this!" Itsuki continues to cry.

"You're such a crybaby…" Miku shakes her head before returning the hug since she can't really persuade her little sister. "Don't worry. I'll make sure to call you every now and then."

"You better." Itsuki told her and let go of the hug, wiping her tears. "Now come on. I'm hungry!"

"Big shocker…" Miku rolls her eyes.

"Mmmmmm, Miku…" Itsuki pouts at Miku.

"Alright, we'll go eat. Just don't go overboard." Miku states sternly. "Unless you want the nickname Eatsuki to come back."

"Did you have to bring that up!?" The sisters' conversation went on, ignoring the looks of those nearby.

In the library, a certain greenette was going over his notes from class, a cup of coffee next to him.

"Fire Types are strong against Water, which is strong against Grass, which is strong against Fire. Each one has their benefits, but no one type is stronger than the rest…" Izuku muttered as he finished writing, taking a sip of his coffee. "If we're allowed to pick our starters, I gotta think hard… Unless they're randomized. Then, I should adapt."

Izuku then looks up at the clock in the library, seeing that it's almost 5pm, causing him to stand up abruptly and pack his things.

"Oh crap, I better go to my dorm before I get in trouble!" Izuku panicked, nearly dropping his coffee, but catching it before he could accidentally make a big mess. "Oh no!"

"Woah. Looks like you need a hand." Izuku looked up and saw Shido standing over him, a concerned frown on his face.

"O-Oh. Sorry. Was I bothering you?" Izuku asked, hoping he wasn't a burden.

"I was just passing by and saw this." Shido motioned to the papers and books that fell. "Here, let me help."

"Thanks. Sorry for making you help me clean." Izuku apologized as he and Shido began picking up the papers and books.

"Don't be. It would be rude of me to ignore anyone in trouble." Shido reassured with a smile before grabbing Izuku's notebook, which looks worn out and old. "Is this yours?"

"Y-Yeah. I've been carrying iit with me since middle school." Izuku admitted.

"Do you mind if I take a look?" Shido requested and once he earned a nod from the greenette, Shido looked at the various notes Izuku wrote down. "Whoa, this is impressive. You are really good about certain Pokemon."

"Thank you!" Izuku smiled, feeling appreciated. "I always loved watching Pokemon. Ever since I was a kid with my dad."

"Is that so?" Shido smiled at Izuku. "That's good. I can tell you'll be a good Pokemon trainer. Is that what you want?"

"Honestly… yeah." Izuku sat on his chair, a deep expression on his face. "I want to learn more about Pokemon and become strong with them."

"It's a good dream." Shido sat down across from Izuku. "All the while I'm struggling to figure out what I want to do while figuring out something personal."

"I'm sure you'll find a goal." Izuku encourages. "You just gotta go look for it."

"I mean, that's why we're here at this academy." Shido points out before the males look at each other and laugh quietly. "Oh right, I forgot to ask, what's your name?"

"Izuku Midoriya."

"I'm Shido Itsuka." He held a hand out, prompting Izuku to grab it and shook hands with him. "I gotta get going, but hopefully we'll see each other one day."

"I'd like that. Take care, Itsuka!" Izuku waved Shido goodbye as he left the library. "Wow. He's so nice. Though, I doubt we'll meet again…"

"SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!" The librarian suddenly popped out of nowhere and shushed Izuku, making him jump.

'A few days later, Auditorium'

Today was Friday.

The day the students of Pokémon Academy are getting their starter pokemon.

"Thank you all for coming. I'm sure the decision was not an easy one." Kunikida informed the students in front of him. He wasn't surprised to see so many students volunteering for the exploration, though a part of him felt it was mostly to get a Pokemon. "Today, you will all be given your very own Starter Pokemon, along with all the essentials new Trainers typically receive." He then aimed a hand towards the large tables behind him, which had other faculty members, as well as a whole cart full of Pokeballs.

"Woah, that's a lot of Pokeballs!"

"I wonder which one I'll get!"

"Think there'll be a Legendary in one of those?" Many of the students began to chatter amongst themselves about what Pokemon they'll receive, only to be silenced by the professor.

"As I was saying, you'll each be given a Starter today, and whoever you choose will remain with you for the entirety of your journey. Just know that if you are caught trading away your Pokemon on school grounds, you WILL receive proper punishment. Am I clear?" Kunikida gave everyone a serious look, making many of them shrink a bit. "Good. Now please form four lines. When you come up, please show your school I.D so that we may check you off the list. Good luck, everyone."

With that, the process began. It was a bit slow due to the number of students, but it was going rather smoothly.

'Okay, okay, okay. Calm down, Izuku. You've been preparing for this.' Izuku told himself as he waited for his turn. Looking around, he could see a few students from his class in the other lines, as well as Miku and a young man with purple eyes. 'Wait, I know him. He was in that chess tournament. What was his name? Lawrence? Louis? Or-'

"E-Excuse me?" A meek voice called out from behind Izuku, making him jump as he turned around to see another teenage boy looking at him. He had spiky black hair, matching colored eyes and bags under his eyes. "I think it's your turn."

"My turn?" Izuku looked up and saw there was no one in front of him. "O-Oh! Sorry!" He quickly went over to table 3. He then gave the teacher his school I.D before it got scanned.

"Izuku Midoriya. Okay, you're clear." The teacher told Izuku. "Now please pick a pokeball."

Izuku felt his anxiety creep in as the cart of Pokeballs were wheeled up to him. There were so many, each holding a different Pokemon. 'Okay, you might not know what kind of Pokemon you'll get. But as a proud Champion once said, 'Sometimes, you just need to take a leap of faith.' I can do this. I can do this!'

So, with a determined inhale, Izuku closed his eyes and reached into the cart, grabbing one random Pokeball.

"Come on out!" Izuku ordered as the Pokeball opened up, shooting down a blob of light blue energy onto the table. As the light took form, Izuku's eyes slowly widened in anticipation.

"And so, this will be the start of my journey to become a Pokemon trainer."

(A/N)

And that is it for the first chapter of Pokemon Risings!

Hope you guys like this introduction to my new story and man, what an experience. I went through different concepts and ideas to make it work and it took about a year to finally figure it out.

I know some are expecting other popular shows. Well, I wanted to be unique and go with ones no one expects, but can still work in the world of Pokemon. That's why I went with Shido and Miku. It was originally Itsuki (kinda biased since Itsuki is my favorite of the Nakano sisters), but I swapped to Miku for more dynamics with the main cast. But don't worry, Itsuki will still be around for support and moments.

Izuku and Chisato are a special case since while I was planning this story, I had the honor to meet both Justin Briner and Lizzie Freeman. Both are very sweet people and of course, fans of the stuff they do. So when I told them about this story, they were amazed by the concept and even gave me their opinions.

I bet you guys are wondering what Izuku, Shido, Chisato, and Miku's starter Pokemon will be? I already know the answer, but I want to hear your guy's opinion.

Until then, see ya in the next Chapter!
