That evening at dinner, everyone was sitting around the table.
"I can't believe the Tamer's Guild has fallen so much," said Margaret after hearing what everyone had to say about when Ryoma went to join.
"Slimes are far more interesting than any other monsters and just throw that away for nothing at all?" she asked.
"I couldn't agree more," said Ryoma.
"Alright, let's move on from the slime talks," said Reinhart.
"Which reminds me, you didn't say why you were trying to raise your Guild Rank earlier," said Michelle while looking at Ryoma.
"In the spring I'm planning a trip to my old home where my grandparents left some heirlooms but I had to get my rank up in order to get access to the area," said Ryoma.
"Where did they call home?" asked Eliaria.
"The Great Forest of Schluss," said Ryoma, which caused everyone to stop what they had been doing and stare at him.
"How are you alive?!" asked everyone.
"Mr. Calum asked me the same thing when I told him," said Ryoma.
"It makes sense given your skills but how could anyone live there?" asked Reinbach.
"My grandmother set up a barrier to protect our house, even after dying it would remain so the house and everything inside would still be protected," said Ryoma.
"You're planning on taking people with you, right?" asked Miyabi.
"No, it would be easier for monsters to get us in a large group," said Ryoma.
"Plus the barrier will only allow me through so no one would be safe after I went into the house," he said.
"Which is understandable," said Elise.
"We just want you to be careful and not push yourself," she said.
"And make sure you message us when you set out and once you return, that way we'll know that you are alright," said Reinhart.
"Will do," said Ryoma with a smile.
"Now then, let's enjoy the food," said Reinhart.
