It had been five years since Keiko and Daiana had confessed their love for each other. Keiko could hardly believe that half a decade had already passed by. In fact, it seemed to have happened as if in the blink of an eye. Keiko was filled with joy and pride as she thought about how far their relationship had come. She was thankful for the memories they had made and the moments they had shared. She couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
And speaking of the future, she had decided that enough time had passed and it was now time to propose to Daiana and cement their commitment for life. Keiko couldn't wait to get down on one knee and ask the woman she loved to spend forever with her. She knew that it would be an honor to call Daiana her wife and have her help raise Raphael alongside her.
Keiko took a deep breath and calmed her nerves as she went over her plan one more time. She had arranged to take Daiana out for a picnic in the park, just like the very first date they had gone on together. It wasn't exactly a Lockdown of Love like the ones her grandparents and her uncle had thrown all those years ago, but it was still a date that neither of the two women could ever forget. As Keiko walked towards their spot in the park, she hoped that everything would go according to plan and that Daiana would say yes. The rest of her life practically depended on it.
Keiko arrived at the park and laid out the blanket and picnic basket. She looked around at all the trees and flowers in her vicinity, which were bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. The sky was filled with a myriad of colors, from soft pinks and purples to vibrant oranges and reds. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold.
As Keiko waited for Daiana to arrive, she couldn't help but feel anxious. She tried to calm herself down by taking deep breaths and telling herself that everything would be okay. Finally, she spotted her girlfriend walking towards her and waved her over.
"Hey, Keiko," Daiana said as she approached the picnic blanket. "What's all this about?"
Keiko smiled and said, "I just wanted to take you somewhere special. I thought this would be the perfect place to celebrate your birthday."
"Uh, Keiko, my birthday's in June. Isn't it a little early to be celebrating it right now?"
"Yeah, it is. I figured that we could celebrate it two months early just because. After all, every day might be your last."
Daiana raised an eyebrow. "Okay... that's a little weird."
Keiko smiled. "I know, but let's just sit down and enjoy the sunset. It's beautiful, isn't it?"
Daiana nodded in agreement and sat down beside her, and they shared a kiss. As they enjoyed the sunset, Keiko took the opportunity to reach into her pocket and pull out the ring box. Her hand shook slightly as she opened the lid to reveal the sparkling diamond ring inside.
Keiko took a deep breath before speaking. "Daiana, I have loved you since the day I met you. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever known, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Daiana gasped. "Is that the real reason why you asked me here?"
Keiko nodded and smiled. "Yes. So, will you marry me?"
"Yes, Keiko, yes!"
Keiko slid the ring onto Daiana's finger and the two of them shared another kiss. It was the happiest moment of their lives. They could hardly believe that they were engaged to be married, and they were eager to start planning their wedding.
Keiko and Daiana headed back home, eager to share the news with their loved ones. Raphael was the first person they saw, and he was ecstatic when he found out.
"I can't believe my mommies are getting married!" Raphael exclaimed. "This is awesome!"
"Well, we technically have you to thank for bringing us together," Keiko said. "If it wasn't for you, we never would've met."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
After that, Keiko and Daiana made their way through the White House, telling their friends and family members the good news. Their parents, siblings, and cousins were all thrilled and excited for them. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that the couple would have a happy and long-lasting marriage.
"I'm so happy for you," Eddie said. "You deserve this."
"Thanks, Dad," Keiko replied.
"Of course, anything for my daughter."
Eddie wrapped his arms around her, and Keiko returned the gesture. They were both happy for the other, and they couldn't wait to see what the future held.
"Oh, by the way, there's something else I need to tell you," Eddie said.
"Really?" Keiko asked. "What's that?"
"Your brothers Henry, Thomas, and Percy are finally coming home from the NICU this week."
"Oh my gosh, really? That's great!"
"Yep. All three of them are doing well and are ready to come home. Zelda and I couldn't be any more excited."
Keiko herself couldn't have been happier for her father and second stepmother. She was so glad to hear that her baby brothers were healthy and strong, and she was looking forward to seeing them come home. This was going to be the best week ever.
After she and Daiana had welcomed her baby brothers home from the NICU, Keiko got to work planning out their wedding. There was so much to do, and she was eager to get started. She had so many ideas, and she couldn't wait to make her vision a reality. After all, it wasn't every day that a world dictator was getting married (though, in Eddie's case, time could only tell if that was the case with him).
The first thing that she did was create a Pinterest board for her wedding ideas. She poured over hundreds and hundreds of pictures of floral arrangements, cake designs, and bridal gowns. She also spent hours upon hours browsing through venues and reading reviews from other brides who had been married there. Keiko was determined to have the best wedding possible, and she was going to make sure that every detail was perfect no matter what it took.
After she had done her research, Keiko went shopping with her stepmother, two of her aunts Arisu and Fubuki, and two of her cousins Europa and Yui for their dresses at Tysons Corner Center. She wanted each of them to feel as beautiful and special as she was going to be on her big day, and she knew that they would all look amazing in their chosen gowns. They were all different shapes, sizes, and colors, but they were going to complement each other perfectly.
"You know, I have never seen someone as excited as you about their wedding," Europa said. "You're a real trooper."
"Thanks, Europa," Keiko replied. "That means a lot."
"So, what are you looking forward to the most?"
"Everything, I guess?"
"Can you be more specific?"
"Hmm." Keiko pretended to think long and hard about it. "Well, I can't wait to see Daiana walk down the aisle in her beautiful dress. I can't wait to exchange our vows and declare our love for each other in front of everyone. And I can't wait to start the rest of our lives together as wives."
"Aww, that's so sweet," Yui cooed. "You know something? I think you guys are gonna make the cutest couple."
"Thanks, Yui," Keiko replied. "That means a lot coming from you."
They spent the rest of the afternoon trying on all sorts of different dresses. By the time they left, they had managed to find the perfect ones for each of them. They couldn't wait to see Keiko and Daiana get married and start their lives together as a married couple.
