Chapter 18
Shaylee was at the training field swinging her sword around. She was dressed in a tan tunic top and brown breeches. Sweat beaded on her brow as she hit the target that was in front of her.
Fili came into the training grounds to see that she was practicing with her sword. He watched her with a curious gaze. He had to admit that she had very good form. He bit his lip watching her movements. "Training?"
She swirled around gripping her sword tightly in her hands. "Fili. I thought you would be with your brother?"
"Kili is around somewhere," Fili said moving towards her like a lion coming towards his prey. "So getting some sword practice in."
"Wouldn't want to be rusty." She said as she put her sword down looking at him with a curious gaze. "What brings you here?"
"Thought I would get some sword training in as well."
Shaylee hummed softly as she turned her back to him swinging her sword at the dummy that was there in front of her.
"Wouldn't it be better if you had someone against you?"
"And who would I ask to do that with?" She questioned turning her head and looking over her tan-clad shoulder at him.
"Ask anyone in the company… I am sure that they would train with you. You could've even asked me." Fili mused with a smile.
Shaylee stopped for a moment putting her sword away in its sheath and looking over at him her brow raised. "Ask you huh?" She questioned with a small smile.
Fili cleared his throat. "Sure you could've asked me."
She moved in front of him stopping short to look up into his blue eyes. "And would you have trained with me if I asked you?"
"I would have." He said as his cheeks flushed slightly.
Her fingertips touched his mustache braids. "Hm… I suppose if you were up to it would you?"
Fili cleared his throat as his cheeks went redder. "Yeah… I mean… sure…"
Shaylee let out a giggle. "You sound so unsure of yourself. I thought you would be sure of yourself if you wanted to train."
"I want to." Fili said with a small smirk knowing that she was starting to get under his skin a little bit. He had to admit that he didn't hate it which made him concerned was he starting to fall for her?
"Well come on. Train with me then." She teased with a small smile.

Win was taking a walk through Rivendell dressed in a white tunic and a pair of blue breeches. She took a deep breath of the cool crisp air around her as she looked at a statue in the area. She bit her lower lip softly as she looked at it. She heard heavy footsteps behind her, but didn't acknowledge them.
"Looking at the scenery." A deep lustrous voice came from behind her.
She turned and faced Thorin. Her brow raised as she looked at him. "What are you doing out here, I thought that you would be away trying to keep yourself away from the elves."
Thorin let out a breath. "I'm not going to live that down am I?"
Win shook her head lightly. "They have been accommodating of us here… Perhaps they aren't as bad as you think they are… Better than their woodland halves that watched the distruction of your homeland." She said softly as she slowly began to walk again.
"Win…"
She stopped for a moment to turn and face him. "What is it Thorin?" She questioned softly wondering what could be going on in his head. It still bothered her that he was rejecting the feelings he had for her and it hurt to know that he didn't want to do feelings.
"I… amrâlimê…"
She froze when she heard amrâlimê being said once again. Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked at him with wide violet eyes. Was he really going to admit his feelings fully towards her or would everything that they had been though be a waste?
Thorin took a deep breath knowing that he needed to make this right with her. He moved closer to her touching her pale cheek softly with his strong hand.
She looked up into his blue eyes wondering what he was going to do. Was he going to admit the truth that he loved her or was he going to push her away again. She couldn't bare that if he pushed her away again. It would make her heart crumble inside of her chest and she would admit that she wouldn't try to do anything else with him. Tears came to her eyes as she took a shaky breath. "Am I really your amrâlimê?"
Thorin sucked the breath between his teeth. He knew that this was his chance to right this. He stroked her cheek softly with his hand. "Yes." He admitted softly. "You're my amrâlimê."
She could tell in his eyes that he was stating the truth and he was vulnerable about the whole thing.
"I never wanted to hurt you, amrâlimê." He said softly pressing his forehead against hers softly closing his eyes. Taking a deep breath he stroked her hair back from her ears.
"When you said you couldn't do this Thorin you did hurt me." She said softly. "Mo sheud…" Her eyes fluttered shut feeling him gasp slightly at what she called him. "Bidh gaol agam ort ge bith dè, an t-seud agam."
"Being with me will cause problems…"
"Problems we can overcome." She said softly looking into his eyes.
"You would be queen."
"Something that I could handle Thorin…" She said softly stroking his cheeks softly with her hand in a gentle touch.
"Do you even want that?"
"Want to be queen?" She took a sharp breath in thought. She never thought that she would see the day that Thorin would admit his feelings towards her that they had probably held onto for all those years since Smaug's attack on Erebor. Was she willing to become Queen of Durin's people? The Dwarves of Erebor would not like her and she knew that, but she knew that she was going to have to make this choice. "Yes. I'd do it for you anyday."
"People won't like it."
"The King loves who he loves."
"And I love you, amrâlimê. I was trying to push it back, but I know that I can't hold it back." He admitted softly knowing that there was no way that he could hide his feelings for the fae woman that was wrapped up in his arms at that very moment.
A small smile came to Win's lips as she leaned up and pressed her lips softly against his in a soft kiss.
Thorin kissed her back softly trying his best to not push his luck. He didn't want to push her away from him again. He couldn't bare to have that happen again. He could only hope that Balin was true to his word that they would support him in this matter.
Win slowly pulled away from him looking into his eyes seeing the care in his hardened eyes from the world around him. She took a deep breath. "You know they're going to ask." She said softly resting her forehead against his.
"I know… and we'll deal with it when it is time to do so." He said softly rubbing her back softly with his strong hands.
Win let out a soft giggle. "Thank you Thorin."
"For what?"
"For finally saying how you truly felt."
Thorin let out a soft laugh knowing that he hadn't had anything to really worry about. Perhaps being with Win was something that he should've had done years ago when they were in Erebor. He certainly wasn't going to mess up this time.
