Once I told the Professor my name, well my new name, we hashed out a few more details before we left the waiting room.

Me following him.

Since this is his house.

The two of us walked and eventually passed through a set of doors, after which we found ourselves in a lab. Specifically the lab shown in the Pokemon anime.

As soon as we stepped inside I looked around and examined all the different kinds of machines and equipment. Seeing all this cementing the fact Oak truly was a scientist.

"Nice set up you got here professor." I spoke.

"Why thank you young Mikoto." Oak replied, pride in his voice and a small smile on his face.

Which I would definitely have if our roles were reversed.

Anyway.

The two of us moved through the lab until we reached this world's version of an incubation chamber.

How do I know this you ask?

Because there is a Pokemon egg sitting in said chamber right now.

As we arrived I briefly glanced at the egg before turning my gaze to Oak. "Professor is the egg in that incubation chamber perhaps..."

"Yes, it's as you suspect young Mikoto. That egg contains your starter Pokemon." Oak confirmed. "Though I'm sorry to say it won't hatch for at least another month. So you'll have to wait a little while longer before you begin your journey."

"That's fine with me professor. I waited for this moment for a long time. So waiting a bit more doesn't bother me." I replied. "Though I am curious, why are you giving me a starter Pokemon from an egg? Not that I'm complaining or anything, but don't you have any others available?" I asked.

"Unfortunately not at the moment." Oak replied. "This year there was a high number of trainers who began their journey, which in turn exhausted even my supply of starter Pokemon. And it will be several months before even I can get my hands on anymore. Hence why you must wait for the egg to hatch to receive your own starter." He explained.

"I see. Thank you for the explanation." I replied. I then looked briefly at the egg again before turning back to Oak once more. "So if you don't mind me asking, what sort of Pokemon will hatch from the egg?" I asked.

For I can't tell simply based on its color scheme. Which is a mix of light blue and white. Many Pokemon in this world having those colors.

"Why it will be a-"

"Grandpa! I finished my homework. So can I go out and play with the-Who are you?" A young male voice suddenly spoke, interrupting Oak.

A very familiar young male voice.

Turning my head in its direction my suspicions regarding the owner of the voice were confirmed when I saw none other than Gary Oak standing before me.
A young one too. He looks only about six or seven years old.

'Well, at least now I have a rough estimate of where I am in the timeline.'I thought. Given that Ash and Gary are the same age. Meaning I have about a decade until canon begins.

That's one item on my to-do list marked off. Now just a couple dozen more to go.

Yay me.

I was being sarcastic if you couldn't tell.

Turning in the direction of his grandson, like me, Oak leveled a stern gaze at the boy, making him sheepishly begin scratching his left cheek. "Gary, what did I say about manners?"

"Hehe, sorry grandpa." Garry said. He then looked at me. "Nice to meet you, I am Gary Oak. And you are?"

"Mikoto Suoh." I replied. "Very nice to meet you, Gary."

"Much better." Oak said, giving a curt nod of approval to Gary. "Now then, what were you saying before?"

"Oh I was just wondering if I could go outside and play with the Pokemon now that I'm done with my homework?" Gary asked.

"Sure. Just remember to mind your manners because-"

"Pokemon have hearts and minds as well." Gary spoke. Interrupting his grandfather. "Yeah, yeah, I know gramps. We'll see you." He spoke.

Gary then ran out of the lab.

After which Oak sighed and shook his head. "I don't know what I'm going to do with that boy. Honestly, why can't he just be a bit more like his sister?" He mused.
Giving me another piece of information about this world.

The fact Daisy Oak exists here.

'Thank you professor Oak.' I thought.

After another minute of shaking his head Oak turned his attention back to me. "Oh sorry young Mikoto. I wasn't trying to ignore you. I was just lost in thought."
"Hey no need to explain, professor. That happens to me all the time." I said. "Besides I can see why you got like that. What with your grandson and all. He is quite the energetic little youth."

"You can say that again." Oak agreed. "I really don't know what to do with him. Especially since he reminds me so much of well, me in my younger years." He revealed.

"Just be there for him and I think he'll turn out just fine." I spoke. Actually knowing he will.

Thank you foreknowledge.

"Heh, to get advice on a child from one who is barely past the age of being one himself. Now I can see I really am getting old." He said.

"Eh you don't look a day over forty." I spoke.

Eliciting laughter from Oak, which I joined him in. Our laughs not dying down until a moment later.

"Oh thank you Mikoto. I needed that." Oak told me.

"No problem." I replied. "So, back to the egg. Do you mind telling me what species it is?" I asked him.

"Of course, of course." Oak said. "You see it will be a Dratini." He spoke.

"Huh?" I managed to say after hearing Oaks words in regards to the egg. "I'm sorry I think I misheard you just now professor. Because it sounded like you just told me the egg, of which the Pokemon that will hatch from it and will become my starter, will be a Dratini?"

The first form in the evolutionary line of one of my favorite top ten Pokemon of all time, Dragonite.

"No dear boy, you heard me correctly." Oak easily replied.

"I see. Well I just had to make sure." I spoke.

Making a quick mental note to give the ROB the praise he asked for earlier in his note.

Since now, he damn well sure deserves it.

Using my left hand I stifled a quick yawn. Then once I did I put my hand back with the other one on the computer keyboard in front of me. Putting it back to work in my efforts to search the internet.

Or the Pokenet as it is known in this world.

By the way the currency here is known all across the world as Pokedollars. I kid you not.

Yeah, the play on Pokemon is that integrated into society here.

But honestly that doesn't bother me at all. Especially with everything else I have learned about the Pokemon world I now call home over the past month.
Which is almost over, meaning my Dratini egg will hatch soon, allowing me to finally take the first step forward in becoming a Pokemon trainer.

In regards to the practical side of Pokemon training that is. Since during the past month I've been working hard on my technical side.

With some aid from Professor Oak. Who has been graciously hosting me as a guest in his home as we waited for the Dratini egg to hatch. Since I had nowhere else to go.
Professor Oak really is a great man.

That's why I need to make sure I work hard to pay him back for all he's doing for me in the future. Since I'm not the type of person to accept handouts like this without at least doing something to re-pay them. If not it would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

But enough about that for now, back to the main topic.

The information I have acquired about this world.

First, all nine regions from Kanto to Paledea are known and in contact with each other.

Though most of the prominent figures I know from the Pokemon media in my previous life such as the gym leaders, elite four, and champions either haven't made their marks yet or are in entirely different positions than I remember them being in.

For instance, at the moment Pryce is the current Champion of the Indigo region. Meanwhile Lance, who I learned is only two years older than me, just earned his spot amongst the Indigo Elite Four.

Though I know it won't be that way for long. Especially with the video clips I've seen of Lance's battles on the Pokenet. Just from watching a few of them even I can already tell he is a different kind of trainer. The same applies to his Pokemon. His three Dragonite in particular.

Hm, wonder if he would ever give me some tips on raising my own?

Food for thought.

Second, the techniques such as Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Dynamaxing and Gigantimaxing are also all known.

Which is good.
Because it means no one will be suspicious when I bust out Mega Evolution in the future. Since that has been one of my favorite things about Pokemon ever since it was revealed during Generation VII.

Third, the movie events are likely canon here.

Since places that only existed in the films such as Rota and LaRousse City are real here. Along with all the other anime-exclusive locations. I even found several articles on Professor Lund from the Destiny Deoxys film. So yeah, film events are likely to happen.

Meaning more future headaches.

But on the bright side it gives me more of the Pokemon world to explore.

Silver lining.

Fourth, here there is no six-carry limit for a trainer when it comes to Pokemon. Though there are other rules and regulations in place that prevent trainers from carrying dozens of Pokemon on them at once.

Legal ones that is.

Which brings me to the fifth thing I've learned.

The villainous teams in this world are no joke. They are classified as serious criminal/terrorist organizations and are to be handled with extreme prejudice and caution should you ever encounter them. Pokemon trainer or not.

At least the ones that currently exist.

Which from what I have gathered are only Team's Rocket, Aqua, and Magma. Though while surfing the Pokenet I have found forums and chatrooms discussing the already possible existence of Team Galactic in Sinnoh. Though I hope these rumors are false.

Because in my opinion out of all the villainous teams to ever appear in the Pokemon media Team Galactic and their leader Cyrus are by far the most dangerous. Since unlike Maxie and Archie who only want to change the world, albeit at the cost of an untold number of lives of people and Pokemon alike, Cyrus and Team Galactic wants to destroy everything in fucking existence.

Yeah, no.

If I never meet that nihilistic blue-haired cult-leading bastard my life will be good. The same goes for anyone else associated with any of those organizations.
Though in regards to that it looks like the Aether Foundation in Alola takes after its anime version rather than its game version.

Good.

Moving on.

I continued surfing the net, absorbing any and all information I could.

Until I heard someone knock on the door to the spare room I had been using as my own.

"Come in." I said. Turning away from the computer towards the door.

Then the second after I did it opened. Revealing a girl my age with light-brown hair and matching colored eyes, dresses in a beige blouse, with a green skirt, green low-heeled shoes, with a lab coat completing her ensemble. Which hardly did anything to hide the curves in all the right places this girl standing in front of me has.

Who is none other than Gary's big sister and professor Oak first grandchild, and granddaughter, Daisy Oak.

"Hey Daisy, what's up?" I asked her.

"You need to come with me now Mikoto." Daisy spoke urgently. "The egg, it's hatching."

Hearing this I basically jumped out of my chair and started running towards the lab with Daisy.

The two of us arriving in no time at all we headed over to a table where professor Oak was standing at.

The egg sitting stop it, slowly but surely emitting pulses of light.

Reaching the table Daisy and I began to stand silently by Oak as the pulses of light being emitted by the egg got faster and faster until eventually the entire egg glowed for a moment before all light faded from it.

Then the second after it happened a crack formed near the top of the egg and we all saw the face of a Pokemon staring out of it at us.

Who then started breaking out of the egg, until eventually it had completely removed itself from it.

Revealing a Dratini.

"Beautiful." I couldn't help but say.

"Yeah." Daisy added.

"Ah whether people or Pokemon the miracle of birth is shrouded in wonderment." Oak spoke.

"Dra?" The Dratini purred. Slightly tilting its head as it stared at Oak.

"Oh, don't mind me little one. Instead, why don't you get to know your trainer and partner." Oak spoke.

When he did I slowly moved my hand towards Dratini and smiled at it. "Hey there little guy. My name is Mikoto Suoh and I'm going to be your trainer." I told him.

For Oak confirmed for me a while ago that this Dratini is a male.

"Dratini." He replied. He then stared at my arm for several seconds before approaching it and began slithering up and along it. Until he eventually reached my head and began nuzzling his cheek against mine. Cooing in happiness.

I smiled at this.

Feeling the two of us are going to get along just fine.

Dratini continued nuzzling our cheeks for a few more seconds before he stopped. He then slid himself off my arm and back onto the table.

Once he did I gently tubbed the top of his head. Completely unashamed, and affected by the sappy looks professor Oak and Daisy were throwing my may. Since unlike some men I'm not afraid to show my gentle and caring side in front of others.

Especially to one of my Pokemon.

And on that note. "Hey Dratini, would you like a name?" I asked him.

"Dratini?" He questioned, looking at me.

"Yes, a name." I replied. "If you don't want it that's fine, but if you do just gently nod your head."

Dratini stared at me for about a minute before gently nodding his head.

"Alright then." I said. "So from this point on your name will be Spyro." I told him.

For he's one of the most badass dragons I know. So what better name would there be for my partner to have?

"Tini!" Dratini happily exclaimed, telling me he liked his new name.

So with this Spyro the dragon has been born, and one day I promise that name will be known all across the world.

Count on it.

"Spyro, jump back and dodge." I instructed my partner.

Who followed my instructions perfectly and jumped back, completely dodging the Razor Leaf aimed at him by his an opponent. An Oddish. Which Daisy is currently the partner of for the purposes of this Pokemon battle.

Two weeks have passed since Spyro hatched from his egg.

During this time the two of us have been bonding. But I've also been teaching him numerous things. Like about the world at large, his own species, and about Pokemon battles. The last of which he loves.

Even though he only began having actual battles a week ago.

Which you probably think is too early for a newly hatched baby Pokemon, and let me tell you that's where you'd be wrong. Spyro might still be a baby Pokemon but he's quite the little tyke.

Professor Oak having explained to me this was because of Spyro's dragon typing. Because as it turns out most dragon-type, and draconic natured Pokemon along the likes of the Charizard and Gyarados lines, have highly tuned innate battle instincts more than other types of Pokemon in the entire world.

That's why only after a week of being in the world Oak gave us his seal of approval to start having mock battles. Of which I have loved every minute of.

Being a Pokemon trainer truly is amazing.

Looks like that ROB is getting some more praise tonight.

"Spyro use Thunder Wave." I spoke.

Grunting in acknowledgement Spyro generated electrical energy across his body before sending it out in a wave towards Oddish, which struck it. Leading to it gaining the paralysis effect.

"Now while it's stunned, Wrap." I spoke.

"Tini." Spyro said. He then slithered across the ground and wrapped around Oddish before it hand a chance to react.

"Don't let them set the pace Oddish. Break free with Acid." Daisy commanded.

"Back off now Spyro." I said immediately after she spoke.

When I did Spyro obeyed and backed off before he could get poisoned.

"Okay now that you're free use Poison Powder." Daisy spoke.

"Don't allow that. End this with Dragon Breath." I said. Calling for Spyro to use his egg move.

Following my commands Spyro quickly gathered draconic energy at the front of his mouth before blasting at Oddish, his attack landing a direct hit before anyone poisonous powder could be released. Resulting in a knocked out Oddish, making us the victors.

"Excellent work partner." I called out to him.

"Dratini." He happily cried.

"Yes, good work you two." Daisy complimented, while she moved to tend to Oddish. "To think you would progress this quickly in only two weeks. Now I see why my grandpa made you two partners." She explained.

"Thanks Daisy." I replied.

"Dratini." Spyro added.

"Woah, what Pokemon is that?!"

Then right after he did I heard a voice I will never forget as long as I live.

Turning in its direction I saw none other than the ageless, though here he will age because if he doesn't it will just be weird, protagonist of the Pokemon anime series for more than twenty years, until they changed it to that girl Liko, whose adventures I religiously followed, Ash Ketchum.

Stars in his eyes as he looked at Spyro.

Gary and a young girl standing on either side of him.

"That's a Dratinit Ash. Come on, we learned about them in school a while ago." The girl spoke.

Leading Ash to start sheepishly scratching his cheek. "Hehe, sorry Leaf, I forgot." He un-shamelessly admitted.

Hearing this I couldn't help but put a wry smile on my face. Since it looks like Ash will still be Ash in any Pokemon universe.

Though I suspect that's likely because he has something akin to what would be either ADD or ADHD in my previous world. Since from watching the anime I know Ash isn't dumb. Far from it. He just has trouble keeping an attention span on things that don't really interest him. But I think with some proper help Ash could turn into an entirely different person. However I'm not going to be the one to do that.

At least, not yet.

I need to wait and see how Ash turns out in the future, when his starts his journey, and only then will I decide if I'll assist him a bit or not.

Since I'm not heartless enough to leave my favorite Pokemon character hanging.

"Really Ash, it's a wonder you even make it in school. Gary commented.

Only for Daisy to walk up to him and slap him upside the head.

"Ow!" He yelped, turning to glare at Daisy. "Sis, what was that for?"

"For that mouth of yours. Now apologize to Ash." She spoke.

"Fine, fine." Gary grumbled.

Only for Daisy to raise her hand to strike him again.

Making Gary stand up straight like a soldier in front of his commanding officer and get to apologizing to Ash.

Seeing this I couldn't help but lightly chuckle.

Spyro joining me.

But after the apology was over we stopped. Since the kids turned their attention back to us. Specifically Spyro.

"Mister, is that really Dratini?" Ash asked me.

"It sure is. And my name is not mister. It's Mikoto Suoh." I replied. "And what are your names?" I asked Ash and Leaf. Even though I already knew.

"I'm Ash Ketchum." Ash proudly exclaimed.

"And I am Leaf Green. Nice to meet you mister Mikoto." She spoke.

"Just Mikoto is fine Leaf. After all I'm not that much older than all of you." I told her. "And to answer your question Ash, yes this is a Dratini. His name is Spryo and he's my partner."

"Dratini." Spyro said. Introducing himself.

"Awesome." Ash said. "So Mikoto, does that mean you're a Pokemon trainer?" He asked.

I nodded my head. "Yes, I am." I replied.

Professor Oak having given me my official Pokemon trainers license last week.

After I passed a small test he had put together.

Since while he trusted me he was staking his reputation on the line by giving me a trainers license, something most people have to study years to acquire, like Gary and his friends are doing right now, so I understood why he wanted a bit of reassurance in regards to my qualifications.

Needless to say I passed that test with flying colors.

"Cool!" Ash exclaimed.

"Yeah, I know it is." I replied. "But remember this Ash it takes a lot to become a Pokemon trainer. Not just getting Pokemon, but also training them and other types of knowledge as well." I told him.

Deciding to throw him a bone, and hopefully planting the seeds that will make a more competent Ash when he begins his journey in nine years.

But honestly I won't hold my breathe.

Ash nodded at my words.

Gary and Leaf surprisingly joining in.

Though I don't really mind.

"Well I would love to stay and chat some mor with you kids but unfortunately I can't. Spyro and I have some things to take care of." I spoke.

For tomorrow morning is when we officially set out and start our Pokemon journey in earnest.

Bidding Ash and the others farewell Spyro and I started making our way back to the main complex.

Me with a skip in my best.

For tomorrow for me the journey begins.

Hell to the yeah!

Watching the sun rise like it does in the opening of the original Lion King film I stood facing professor Oak.

The two of us standing outside the gates to his home/ranch.

For he was seeing me off.

"And you're sure you have everything?" He asked me. "Your backpack, your clothes, your pokeball's, your ID, your-"

"Yes, professor, I'm sure I have everything." I interrupted.

Not that I have an issue with him caring for me. But I would really like to get a move on.

"Alright then, if you're sure." He replied.

"I am. And once more, thank you for everything you've done for me." I told him. Holding out my left hand.

Which Oak took and began shaking. "Young Mikoto as I keep telling you it's not trouble at all. And if you really want to thank me then become a great Pokemon trainer. That's all I ask."

"Don't worry professor Oak, I will. I promise." I said.

I then ended our handshake.

Once I did I turned away from the professor and started down the trail.

Until eventually I was on my way out of Pallet Town.

Truly taking my first steps in the vast and wonderous world of Pokemon.

A/N: Hope you liked my first official chapter of my new Pokemon fanfic.

Now to address somethings I didn't yesterday. Namely why my MC has the name and appearance of Mikoto Suoh from K Project. Simply put, it's because I wanted it to be that way. But I'll say this, this fanfic is not going to be some crossover. Though as you already know it does encompass elements from the game, anime, manga, and other Pokemon related Media and Lore. So be prepared for what's to come.

And concerning my MC's Pokemon, I'll reveal them as he catches them and not before. But since I'm generous I want to see if you readers can guess which Pokemon I will choose to make up his team.

I'll even give hints.

Mikotos' Team:

Spyro - Dratini (Male/Starter)

Artemis - Moon Stone used for Evolution

Surtr - Arm Cannon

Thor - Lightning fists

Luna - Moon worshipper

Poseidon - Firefighter

Casper - A Friendly Ghost

Smaug - Prehistoric Terror

Lancelot - Blademaster

Thalassa - Singer on the Seas

Hashirama - King of the Jungle

Vritra - Flying Bug

Nyx - Curse Bringer

Loki - Illusion Caster

Bellona - Samurai
