In this chapter we'll be having two parts as the team needs to grapple with the struggles of the training exercise and someone might be finding a more of a connection with each other soon. Sorry for not posting for so long been busy with other projects and life you know but I managed to pump out alot of chapters for you to read so I can finish this story Justice belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 29:New Gods part 1
Mount justice october 23 5:03pm
As their was silence in the cave nothing was happening as right now m'gann slowly stirs a bowl in silence. While kaldur was leaning against the counter close to her as wally is slumped over a chair. Then their was artemis leaning against the back of one of the chairs. With robin sitting on the couch worried. Then their was deliah sitting their petting ghost who whined in her hands worried. Red-x stood their seeming annoyed right now while jinny leaned against a nearby wall
In the training room right now waiting for someone was red tornado, martian manhunter, captain marvel and revanant to watch over the teens with worried faces starting at the screens,
"Recognized batman 0-2"the computer said as stepping from the zeta tube was batman
"How are they?"the dark knight asked immediately
"I am still shaken what you and i have wrought. One can only imagine what these youths have faired"manhunter said gesturing to the screens with the team
"I know our virtual training simulation went badly. But i hoped they would have rallied together by now"batman said making the three look surprised but captain marvel looks annoyed at him
"Trauma may linger my friend as you know"j'onn said as captain marvel scoffed
"Have something to say captain"batman asked as he eyed him for a moment
"Just that you should cut them some slack. Their still kids you know….i mean if i was in their shoes seeing all that i'd be messed up myself"Captain marvel said with revanent eyeing him as he placed a hand on his shoulder
"Excuse us for one second"nico said dragging him away to somewhere else as the two continued to talk as he did nico slapped the captain upside the head
"Ow what was that for?"captain marvel asked
"Kid shut up. You wanna give up who you are because i remember you begging me to not let them know your a kid yourself. Mr i have the power of a magic wizard"nico said as this man knew of the captain true identity with the hero sighing
"I know i know but it just…makes me mad i mean seriously we've been here watching them and…its…upsetting i mean if i was in their shoes i'd be heartbroken."captain marvel said as the hero agreed
"I agree lets hope things are going well with dinah"nico said hoping everything goes well their.
Inside of the office that they had in a room filled with a green chair and another one from across her was black canary. As she sat their with conner sitting their as she kept her gaze on him right now
"Look i can only imagine how devastating it was to lose your friends in essence your family. Convinced all of this was real"she said as her voice wavered a little calling them his family as he clenched his fist
That entire simulation felt so real all of it felt so real that he thought he lost so many people close to him. That he almost lost someone that he couldn't have the heart to tell them something before they where gone.
"I know it must have been horrible for all of you. But you may be superboy i understand that…your not suppose to feel sadness or vulnerability"she said making conner growl on that last part sick of all of this
"You know know how i feel at all"conner said getting up storming out of the place
"Conner wait!"black canary called out as conner stormed out as she sat down worried now. But as he was storming out watching were the other team members with red-x huffing
"Guess someone grumpy"Red-x joked making jinny eye him before getting up to go after the hero right now as dinah stepped over sighing
"Artemis your up"dinah said as artemis sighed stepping up to do her own session
As conner was storming out of the cave right now he slowly made his way to his bike getting on it. Then he kicked it into gear with jinny whistling at him getting his attention
"What do you want here to drag me back"conner growled as he helped his helmet but sphere got in his way right now as she eyed him
"Nah i'm here to keep an eye on you and guessing this one is too"jinny said rubbing sphere who beeps a little for a moment with them sharing a look
"Out of my way sphere i need to go now!"Conner shouted but the sphere did something. Slowly but surely it started to take the shape of something that being a more exterestial style vehicle right now as the two shared a look with jinny smirking
"Now this is a ride but…mind letting me tag along"jinny said as their was a moment pause with conner smiling as the took got on the new vehicle. Then it started to float exciting them before the two sped off through the open doors as batman ran over to it
"Hex, superboy return to cave"batman said before hearing it echo on the ground close to him seeing the two ear pieces gone now as he sighed seeing this on the ground
Metropolis october 23rd 5:28
Their was nothing at first in the park as it was calm and fairly occupied. But as it was suddenly a golden portal went boom appearing out of thing air before them all startling the people who began to run away from something that being a ship looking more like a car rising some panic
The first was a large muscular man who wore dark blue armor and a helmet with some bright green marking on the armor to make it stand out.
The next was a brown skinned man with long red hair a little bit below his shoulder. With a large black headband with a large black gem on it. With him having very large red eyebrows. Though he was wearing a vest that seemed to be made of fur from an animal and his skin has blue stirpes on the arms. While he wore a wristband that goes onto one part of his hand and his wist. He wore some large baggy green pants with white and black sandals
The next was someone who resmbled a women with light brown skin and violet eyes. While she wore a pink dress with light blue stripe, black leggins, matching pink boos. With a short black cape with some pink stripes. While she sported an assortment of jewelerly including a white armband, pink earring, and a pruple and pink diadem
The next was a lean man with black hair and bright blue eyes. While his attire was consist of a bodysuit colored dark blue with purple lines on them and black boots and a red sash and headress
The next was a boy with eyes color beyond a natural color scheme. He resembled a caucasian young boy with blonde hair and violet eyes with a small gap in his teeth. While he sported white pants with black boots and a black shirt with a brown poncho oer it while sporting a black belt with holsters on it. While the poncho had blue marking on it made it distinct with a black cowboy hat on.
Hero danjar!"the large man cheered flying upward right now
"Zo! No kemnos! Danjar thara, thanka, tabor"the cowboy said but the man with armor them held up a strange box as it went bing
"But when can we see some cowboys?"the boy asked
"Your obsession with the bargains must wait serifan"the man said as he turned to the box
"Motherbox please camouflage all extraterrestrial energy signatures. Then scan the planet as advise"the man asked as the box beeped again
"What we seek si on this world let us–"he was stopped as it beeped again catching their attention
"The new genisphere is here on earth and a mother box"the black haired girl siad
"Then the forever people will take her back and her other companion as well! No foe will stand in our way"The large man cheered
High in the skies right now sitting their was conner with wolf along with jinny. As the controls of the sphere was similar to a motorbike with her driving it as she drove a little low splashing some water up against the rocky shoreline as she laughed with a smile
"This is amazing! Ohhh if my ma was here she flip her lid or greg would"jinny said laughing as he smiled a little at that. As he did the bike turned a full 90 degrees change in the direction they were going as she got gutsy going into a loop as it startled him but wolf barked happily
"Oh yeah!"conner cheered right now as the ship was flying around before doing something as it came to a complete stop right now. Once it did suddenly the others from metroploizs appeared startling the two teens right now
"Whoa."jinny commented as the man in green diamond spoke
"Return the new genisphere and the mother box with any other technology you stole from new genesis human"the man warned
"And who are you exactly?"conner asked
"What are you? You look like your from a cowboy movie"jinny added making serifan look at her surprised right now
"Well i'll be they are real"he commented with a smile to her confusion but the driver stood up
"Let keeps this simple that!"the man gestured toward sphere
"Belongs to us give it back"the man warned making conner and jinny eye them down. But as it did soon enough the motherobox picks up a higher speed revving its engine letting out a sharp ping making the forever people stare at it for a moment
"Forever people stand down. They did not steal the new genisphere they saved it from the real thieves"the leader it seems said
"We are sorry. The forever people embrace you as a friend, ally and worthy warriors"the large man said as the two shared looks
"Your kidding right?"conner aksed as they looked confused
"We are not kidding…let us land close by to talk"the girl said as they agreed on that as the two wanted some answers right now for what is even going on.
As they where making their was throught the air right now the sky was starting to darken as they where making some introductions right now to each other as they told them who they are and flew close to each other
"The forever people"conner asked
"We are young gods apart of the new gods"the driver said with the two of them sharing some looks
"Right"jinny mumbled to herself as the cowboy themed boy seemed excited
"I am serifan to think i am to meet one of you cowboy in the flesh"Serifan said excited as jinny tipped her hat to him
"Well uh cool but i'm more of a mechanic in a way…though i like my outfit. Cool hat"jinny complimented making conner growl a little at that right now which the red haired man noticed
"I am dreamer and he is moonrider. "The women said gesturing to the man in the red sash
"And our leader vykin"dreamer said to the final man holding the mother box. With the red hair man smiling with a wave
"I am of an animal not native to your world. But you may call me wolf"the man said but the actually wolf growled at him as conner smiled
"This is a wolf"conner bluntly said as the large man sighed
"Then what about bear…ah bear is even better"bear says brightly
"I like it you seem to fit the motif"jinny said
"And you are?"dreamer asked as jinny tipped her hat to them
"Jinny hex"jinny said catching vykin by that last name
"Your name is that of one jonah hex correct"vykin asked startling her for a moment as she stood up straight
"Hes pretty much my great great grandfather why?"jinny asked as serifan laughed a little excited right now
"He is a great man and is very interesting to speak to back on new genesis"serifan suddenly said catching her attention that her own ancestor from long ago that is suppose to be dead is alive
"Wait…my…jonah hex is alive?"jinny asked confused with the forever people looking confused
"Why he is? Ah i forgot humans have short life spans but we can explain that more later"vykin said as they better right now
"And you are?"bear asked superboy who paused for a brief moment sighing
"Con…superboy my name is superboy"conner said stumbling his words frowning which jinny noticed concerned right now as the man held out motherbox
"This right here is motherbox a living computer."vykin explained with jinny and conner recognizing it
"Hey thats in my ancestor chest its the same one even"jinny commented
"Ah ha! So thats why she detected a piece of stolen technology here it must be a gift from one of our people. But we are here to find our rescue drill"bear cheered as the two ships flew around flying high above the tall building as they did the box beeped in vykins hands
"It is beneath us about 18 meter underground"he commented
With conner examining the area below seeing a construction site but also something else close to the building right now that being the federal reserve conventional located right across from the street
"Thats a construction site perfect coer for a dill. Especially with the federal reserve right across from the street"conner said confusing the forever people as they cleared it up
"They uh keep money here for safe keeping"jinny explained
"Really? So its a heist then lets go on partners"serifan said pulling out two high tech looking guns
"Guns blazing and round up them outlaws"he added as they shared looks
"He hs watched many earth western"dreamer argued
"Hey i get it their cool. But we can't brute force this stuff sometimes in westerns they gotta be stealthy like the natives."jinny said to get it through one of their heads with vykin laughing
"Seems you two are natives of this land we shall follow your lead for this"vykin said surprising the two to hear that right now.
Back at the cave right now sitting in silence for a moment was artemis sighing as she leaned back in her seat
"Look me dying during that exercise might have started things out but i was the coma girl. Missed out on all the fun and forgetting it was real. I don't have no trauma no need to shrink rap me"artemis firmly said with confidence but the women didn't buy it
"That your too tough to need any help"dinah said with disbelief in her tone as artemis looked down at her feet in her chair
"Whatever maybe"Artemis said looking away sighing
"Or maybe your too tough t admit that you need help. Artemis its not a sign of weakness to open up to your friends"black canary said making the archer pause for a moment a she looked down for a brief moment
"But you still keep secret from them"she poined out as artemis slightly went wide eyed but corrected her a little
"I did well tell one of them about ummm it"artemis said to her surprise as she wrote something down worrying the archer but she was intrigued
"And who did you tell this exactly to?"dinah asked as the blonde messed with her hands ringing them
"Deliah we kinda share a similar history and i owed her she told me about her powers when she first got them"artemis said as she eyed her
"But you can't tell the others especially wally. Imagine what he would do since he found out m'gann and D are dating now….funny"artemis joked with a scoff but that made the women stare at her
"So the one your most worried about finding out is wally"she observed with a grin right now as artemis tense up blushing for a moment not really wanting to speak another word on this at all now.
As the time passed in the other room the others waited with robin sitting their in silence. While m'gannn looked troubled with wally munching on some popcorn as m'comm was standing their looking annoyed with their being some silence. While deliah sighed in annoyance
"So this is so much fun….sitting here waiting for therapy great"Deliah said annoyed as red-x scoffed
"We should have joined supey and cowgirl they must be having fun now"red-x said with a cocky tone as they all eyed him
"Yeah we need your cocky tone right now. Just…shut up okay"robin said
"If it was that easy to shut this jerk up he would"Wally said as the unexpected happen
"Fine i'll shut up for now"red-x said making him and kaldur share a look but ghost was sniffing around before walking over to a trouble m'gann as the pup did m'comm stared at it picking it up by his collar making him yip a little
"What is this strange earth creature"m'comm asked still forgetful of it with deliah walking over taking her dog from him
"My pet dog remember. Don't hold him like that you'll hurt his neck hes still pretty small"deliah said rubbing her pet in her arms as m'comm glared at her with his sister staring at him as he backed off for now.
Though soon the door opened with artemis stepping out as she rubbed her neck with black canary stepping forward
"Kaldur you are next"dinah said as kaldur got up right now his session for the evening.
Back with conner and jinny group outside of the construction site was a group of three guards right now guns raised as one had a scar on his nose. But right now approaching them was a old women with a sweet look
"norman!"She called out to them as the one with a scar looked up
"Mom?!"he asked walking over with the other two looking confused but from another view no one was near her as she held a jacket in hand walking toward him
"I brought you a jacket its cold out tonight dear"the old women said making him groan
"Ma come on i'm with my friends"the guard said before suddenly the two guards got zapped from a distance. This made him raise his gun to defend her right now
"Mom get down its not safe…i…"he finished dumbly as she changed back to her true form being dream as jinny rushed over punching him to the ground cracking her knuckles together with a grin. Staring at the hold they made their way down as they did serifan was excited right now
"That was amazing who knew i'd be apart of a western adventure"he said with a grin
"Well were in the city but hey whatever floats your boat"jinny said making conner a little anger which bear noticed as they kept approaching the end of the tunnel right now to find three more large guards but a couple others stood out to them right now.
The first was a stocky and thick necked man of medium height with dark skin and dark eyes. With black hair styled into a pudding bow cut with a fu machu moustache framing the chin and a unibrow. While he wore olive colored pants and a black sweaters
The next was a woemn who had red haired with a voluptuous build along with sporting a black zip up shirt with a v on the collar showing some of her cleavage as she sported a pair of grey pants. While all three of them where wearing strange technology right now for their heist as they where pulling gold bars out of the vault
"A billion in bullion ugly. The old creeps gears performed as advertised"the women said with a smile
"Yeah whisper gave me a score tops any old man ever delivered to intergang"he said as the others watched from the shadows watching them right now as vykin was about to attack but conner tried to stop vykin who approached them
"You will give us back the drill and carts they are property of new genesis. You may return them now "he ordered with him pointing toward his feet making the thugs share look as conner and jinny came out
"Gold goes back too"Conner said
"Interfer and things get ugly"whisper said with a grin as bruno stepped forward
"I'm ugly"he said as the tech he wore activates as a large cannon was mounted to his chest that fired a few red disk toward them. Using telekensis vykin raised the ground but as the disk came it denated launching him and conner back as four came to a stop in the air before passing between themselves. Making one small adjustment he brought them straight into the bams
Once he fall to the ground more of the disk come with the rest of the new gods going into the fray with conner and wolf taking cover as was jinny aiming her revolver shooting them
But pulling out his pisotosl serifan shot the disk out of the air before they reached bear. As the large man sneds him a smile with him running in to take out two more disc as serifan followed him to try and help. With vykin being shocked right now by the four around him moonrider takes one of them out but then one got attached to his back sending him to the ground in a harsh manner as he cried in pain. With that the earth began to enclose around him
Then someone standing beside bruno had laser on their hands compared to the chest cannon as whisper held two whips in her hands
"These weapons aren't from new genesis they are of the enemy"Dreamer says
"What enemy?"jinny questioned
"The enmy the gods of anti life. The weapons of apokolpis"dreamer said with jinny and conner sharing a look wondering what they had gotten themselves into right now
Back in the session kaldur he was talking to her right now about his time in that simulation
"It felt like i was a general but i behaved like a soldier and i scarfieced myself. "Kaldur said strongly but loses his steam narrowing his gaze worried
"I am not fit to command and muse resign as the team leader"he added with a hurt look right now on that with her looking down
"Who do you suggest take your place then"she asked calmly making him snap his eyes open as he thought about a couple options
"Artemis is too raw and untrustcting. Kid flash is rash and impulsive. Miss martin remains eager to please with superboy carrying too much anger. While their is wraith who seems just as excited but can't control her own powers. Jinny seems disinterested in being a team leader while red-x he still remains to be watched for his other goals"kaldur said which left one person as she finished
"Making robin the more logogical choice in this"canary stated
"But he is so young"kaldur objected but she pointed something else out to him
"Your all young kaldur your all kids still"dinah said stunning him but could tell she had compassion in her tone as he sat down for a moment sighing
"I cannot shift the burden to him it appears i must withdraw my resignation"he said chuckling emotionless at the end as she sighed
"Please send in deliah next she is next for her session"the hero said as he did as the women hoped that all of these teens can process this trauma of theirs well now.
With that we close part 1 of 2 for this short chapter section as the others seem to be in the process of handling their grief while conner struggles as him and jinny seem to have found possible new friends in a way. Thanks for reading!
