In this chapter its part 2 of the short arc for conner and jinny meeting the new gods from the original timeline of the show. But how will they handle it and will something interesting come up in the end. Young Justice belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 30: New Gods part 2
As deliah was sitting their in the therapist office right now she was weary of even being here now. As she sat their with a nervous look as dinah held her notebook in hand staring at her
"So dear how are you feeling?"she asked as she looked down
"I'm doing great right now ma'am"deliah said but she could tell that wasn't really the case
"I can tell your lying your…heartbroken after what happened i can assume that wally hasn't made things interesting with the big reveal"dinah said to ease into the topic as deliah chuckled sighing
"Oh my god are you gonna tease me that i'm dating m'gann now? I just met her brother…hes…uh peachy'deliah said missing her own siblings right now hoping their okay as she thought about her own family which the women decided to bring up
"Her family during that time all of you were probably worried for your parents. But you….i'm sure that you were scared that you couldn't say your goodbyes to your parents or take something back"dinah said making the teenager flinch as she eyed her figuring it out quickly
"You umm all know about my umm…ummm…"deliah paused as someone stepped in from a adjacent door that didn't lead to the others as it was her mentor nico
"We all know kiddio…that your mom is well…nightshade an assassin for hire"nico said making her on edge
"Wait…did…did you all take me in to just keep an eye on me…to make sure i'm not some m-murderer like my umm…m…"She didnt say it as dinah closed her eyes with a worried look sharing a look with nico who nodded to her
"Kid your mom left that life behind years ago. Did you even give her a chance to speak and explain herself when you found out"nico asked as the girl paused for a moment shaking her head
"You should have…because this may come to your utter shock but…how do i put this"Dinah said but someone stepped inside to tell them
"That your father is a hired killer and assassin. Were sorry to tell you this"batman said making her flinch right now hearing this as the women eyed the dark knight who eyed her
"Bruce get out now….your ruining this"dinah warned as he simply nodded backing off as deliah sat their for a moment processing that still that her father was some guy named deathstroke a hired gun and killer
"So what…are you here to make me bait for that…sicko"deliah stuttered getting some silence as she glared at them with nico sighing
"Not really kid but…look what happened in that simulation troubled you. Right now i suggest you get some help on this you may be learning to control your powers. But you…were scared…i saw the simulation you where scared…that you would die and never get to apologize to your mother again for what you called her"nico said
As their was a moment of silence right now but slowly she began to crack right now crying into her hands right now as dinah walked over placing a hand on her back to comfort her as the women had a worried look now for the rest of the team
Right now back in the cave whisper jumped over some thugs before slashing her whips horizontal at the group. But the only thing preventing them all from being hit was the rock in their way right now as sinking in some quicksand was bear forcing himself out right now
"The confines of these tunnels favor their weapon . we must take the battle in the open"bear said as he forced himself out as conner punched the rock getting moonrider out of their
"Their bounds to be more room topside"conner shouted as he and wolf take the back of their pack with the new gos having bear boost them out with serifan firing back with his weapons as jinny stopped him
"Sometimes it better to turn tail than fight them head on"jinny said as he smirked
"Spoken like a true cowpoke"serifan said making conner eye him for that right now. Quickly boasting each other up they traveled topside to get to safety.
"Their getting away!"whisper shotued slashing at them in unison as jinny was going up suddenly she felt a stinging sensation on her back as she cried out in pain. This startled conner looking over seeing her crouching as her shirt on her back was slightly torn. Immediately he growled running over picking her up jumping out of the hole
As he did the other new gods were their with vykin sighing"i have no wish to prolong our battle further"he said as the thugs got out ready to fight them now as bruno aimed his weapon at them.
"Fear not freinds she will protect us"Dreamer said as conner held jinny who writhed in slight pain right now
"Who?"conner questioned as like the rest of the gods they weren't even scared of the fight right now with bear smiling right now at something flying in the skies. As in the skys was sphere now armed with her own gun firing at them
"Cool"jinny mumbled but conner went wide eyed
"Wait sphere is a she?"conner questioned in shock right now hearing that as the sphere came down with her shooting at the intergang thugs before cirlcing back to them.
"It is now time"vykin said holding his mother box in hand
"Time for what?"conner asked as all their mother boxes beeped in unison
"Taru!"all five shouted as suddenly a flood of golden light covered him. Then before his eyes slowly opening them they went wide to see a android like figure standing their colored in a gold color with white lines and blue armor on its body. Watching this it seemed the thugs were focusing on the sphere as now combined the new gods approached their foes.
Turning the two men with tech in hand they tried to use the quicksand again to slow down this android. But easily it stepped around it using its eyes to fire laser at the tech making it disappear as the thugs had no harm to their body now.
Then the two cannons on their chest fire the disk but simply waving their hand it slowed the trajectory before stopping. With their other hand they let out a consuccive wave that kicks all the gang up and whisper then back to the ground
Readying her whips whisper tossed them forward toward the new god. But catching them with easy with their hands as they used their laser eyes to destory the whips at the handle. Staring down at it stupidly where they used to be the new god released another concussive wave from their hand knocking her down as she she groaned
Seeing her allies right now immediately bruno aimed a similar motherbox in the air as it sumomoned a portal with her going wide eyed
"Ugly wait!"whisper called otu as she took off running but the new gods caught her as she was stopped then they used their ther hand toward the drill summoning a portal underneath it as it dropped disppearing from sight. Once that happened the portal disappeared with the thugs as they dropped whisper to the ground.
Then another golden light appeared as it faded with all five of the new gods being bad to a stunned conner and jinny
"What was that?"Conner asked
"Infinity man. We mered to become part of the source and greater sum of our parts"dreamer said
"Least ou teams not that close"conner grumbled setting down jinny carefully who hissed in pain.
"She is hurt let us help"bear said making him on edge as he got close to the man growling
"Easy partner can't we help a fellow cowpolk"serifan said as he walked over shoving him in the chest making the new gods on edge
"Don't lay a hand on her! No ones laying a hand on her like last time!"conner shouted making them go a little quiet as jinny winced in pain looking at him for a moment staring at him with dreamer stepping forward
"It'll be fine we have something to heal her"Dreamer said pulling out her mother box before gesturing her to turn around. Jinny did as her back had a whip mark with blood already being drawn right now as she pointed the mother box at her. Suddenly a beam came from it as conner watched in an instant to see if starting to heal as jinny felt relief
"That feels better…it doesn't hurt"jinny commented
"Of course mother boxes have healing capitabilites for most injuries. Did you not know that"dreamer asked as the girl flinched for a moment looking down
"No…could have been useful to help my ma before she…nothing"jinny said upset as whisper tried to run but dreamer caught her as she snarled at her
"I aint talking"whisper said but she wasn't asking as she placed her hands to her temple as her eyes glowed purple. Shiving from that and tremble a whisp came from her head forming and took the form of a horrible mutlatied person in its place. As they had glowing red irises covered head to toe in a cloak laughing manically. All the new gods gasped
"desaad"Dreamer managed to say
"Look i've been patient so far. But we both deserve answer what is going on"conner asked anger now
"Yeah i just got whipped and you healed me with a magic box"jinny added as the gods shared a look all nodding together as she put an image of desadd again
"The new gods come from two worlds at war. Those of us are from new genesis are gods of life, freedom and the soruce. Our enemies are from apokolipis that are gods of anti life, slavery and degradation. This is desaad a god scientist, and chief tortuer of apokolips. His experiments are that of pure evil. His works, abominations. His master"he paused as the image spoke.
"Unspeakbale"the image said finishing it as he laughed before the image was banished
"Creepy as hell"whisper says as they stared at her for a moment with jinny having an idea
"Maybe you know where they are?"jinny asked with whisper narrowing her gaze as she eyed dreamer who stepped forward as she didn't wanna have her head propped again
"Fine! Their at some old airfield or whatever…their..now let me go"whisper said but jinny cocked her fist back clocking her in the face knocking her out from the fight now
Back in the therapy session was dinah staring at her new patient being wally eating popcorn happily riht now
"So you want me to believe that after everything you went through even your own death in a fiery explosion. Your peachy"dinah said not even buying it still
"I'm fairly certain i never use the word peachy. But i got the gist besides everyone knows of the two having girl on girl action. Kinda sweet…maybe i still got a chance with jinny"wally said munching on his popcorn
"Are you sure your not interest on talking about your extreme reaction to artemis death"She asked making him choke as he hacked and coughed on the popcorn he had pounding his chest making him slowly it. As he looked at her nerovusly
"Rather talk about you babe"wally said as she sighed
"Your in denial"dinah said as he put his hand to the floor rubbing his head
"I'm fine with that"wally said as she looked at him
"You are not. Having this thought will only cloud your judgement for how much you care for each of your teammates. And when she died you looked broken and you were enraged when she died. I am here to help you all you can talk about it"dinah said as he sighed right now rubbing his hands right now sighing
"I…guess i am just….i don't know just…it startled me is all that i was denying that fact that i umm…."wally paused looking down on it as he closed his eyes as their session cotninued for a while. Before he walked out with robin looking up as she stared at him nodding
"Its your turn robin"dinah said as he stepped inside for his session right now.
High in the air flying right now were the new gods with conner and jinny following the path of the mohterbox. But as they where flying right now their ships where close as conner kept staring at jinny worried right now as he did bear noticed this
"Ah it seems you are intrigued with that one"bear said aloud almost but conner eyed him scoffing
"Lets just get this done now"conner said a sthey where landing at the airfield right now. It looked very old and abandoned like no one been their in years now. But as they landed the box in vykin hand pings out again
"Seems their are a large cache of apokoluptian technologies inside"he commented as he turned to the building as he used his infrared to find not heat signatures right now
"No heat signature even so"conner said as they slowly approached the building stepping inside of it right now seeing nothing right now with the news gods and the two looking aoround. Before suddenly light snaps over their heads startling them
"Though i could be wrong"Conner muttered raising an eyebrow confused to see several dozen people managing to slip past his vision
"I thought your heatvision was one hundred percent everytime"jinny said as he eyed the palace
"Sorry this tech mask heat signatures so vision filters our illusions. We got you"bruno said firing a shot at the stunned group making them all scatter right now. As moonrider rolls out of the smoke fire suddenly he uses a blue electricity like power to take down two hire thugs in rapid succession. The second got hit so had they went into the ceiling rafters
Conner charged at one carrying a spear but gripping it he bent it nearly 45 degree before throwing the gang member trying to wield it. Bear changes at a man next to him laughing as he knocked him down with one punch
With serigan and jinny back to back firing their weapons right now taking down some thugs including one with a chest cannon but jinny aimed at them firing a shot destroying the disc that came out kncoking them down as seirfan hollered a little
"Now this is like the final draw in a showdown"serifan cheered
"Easy and keep an eye out for the badguys"jinny said firing a shot nailing one of the thugs down. As vykin tried to use his power but nothing happened on the weapons
"It seems that my magnetic power aren;t working. We will soon be dover run it is time"vykin said as the new gods formed together as conner rolled undernath a punch before right hooking a gang member in the head with jinny providing covering fire for them
"taru!"The news gods said as the bright light covered them including bruno. As it did slowly from his side someone started to move forward before the chest protection started to steam as their body split in half to to desadd as he growled
'Now moral deliver the fatherbox"he ordered as bruno flinched before seeing the not fully formed infinity man. Reeling his hand back he threw the father box as it disappeared into the infinity man chest glowing form. It clutches its head in pain before solidifies from the stomach it turns from gold and blue to a red and black color. As the three stared at them with wolf growling
"Oh where so screwed aren't we"conner said
"Yep"jinny said with desaad smiling right now
"Kill the boy and the girls along with their little dog!"desaad ordered as infinity man came at them but immediately conner pulled jinny into his arms to protect her as the two got launched out of the building. As they landed on the ground hard she groaned as they landed just a few feet outside of the place
"You good?"jinny asked as the two of them picked themselves up right now from the fight
"Yeah but guess we need to take him down together"conner said as sphere rolled over to their side as infinity man stepped out toting around a hammer right now at the ready to fight them like the bugs they are.
"Hurting try tramautized"robin managed to say as he held his head
'I finally become the leader and i wind up sending all of my friend to their deaths. I know what i had to do….but when we started the team i was so desperate to be incharge that…i don't want to anymore. That not the worst…you can't tell batman"robin begged
"Nothing will leave this room"Canary promise
"I just always wanted to you know…grow up and be him. But..the hero bit? I'm still all in it just that thing inside of him"robin said as canary face breaks a little as she saw him look ashamed sounding so nervous right now as someone spoke up
"Just speak up kid you got nothing to hide"red-x said startling the two
"How long have you been their"Robin asked as he stared at him through his mask
"Not lon beside i know you better than anyone kid. You don't have the drive to scarifece someone for the sake of the mission. You care for your friends….because…say it"red-x said making the women glare at him as robin looked down getting up walking away
"That i don't wanna be the batman anymore"he said leaving the room as their was silence as red-x sat himself down in confidence as she stared at him disappointed
"You ruined his session red-x"dinah said as he sighed
"Listen lady i know him, fish boy and red head for a long time even though we aint friends. Besides you aint gonna be able to read me"red-x said but their was a moment of silence as she studied him for a brief moment
"Really? So if you were to die during that mission in real life you'd be fine with it. Because you seemed to really wanna be a hero even though you steal and treat other poorly"canary prodded as he wasn't falling for it
"Come on sweet cheeks a criminal can be sweet just bored is all besides gives me a chance to get some payback against the bird for ruining my deal years ago"red-x said but she could sense more than just that
"Then why care for that little girl that needed a heart transplant"dinah said as he eyed her through his maks right now getting on a defensive stance now which she noticed as the two decided to talk to pass the time right now.
Back at the airfield conner cried out in pain as he had a plane thrown at him. But as it happened it disoritned him from that hit as he gasped slightly in pain. Though wolf growled pouncing onf infinity man trying to get it but it smacked him mid air to the ground with jinny running forward firing her rifle several times spinning it to unload a rubber cartridge but the infinity man smacked her back as she recovered quickly.
Eyeing the plane conner grabbed one of the wings tearing it off with ease before roaring as he threw it at the giant. But as it came forward it used its hand to grab it as got covered in a gold colored. Then using it to slam it down on him before tossing the plane away leaving an unconscious conner mostly as jinny ran to him
"Conner!"jinny called out as desadd laughed right now
"Infintiy man is my master weapon now"desaad said with a happy smile
"I'm going to enjoy taking things slow…fatherbox knows all my proclivities and programmed infinity man accordingly"he said with a smile as wolf got up as conner struggled with jianny assisting him. But raising its hand to slam them into nothing coming through the air was sphere right now rolling to take flight
As she quickly unfurled landing right ontop of infinity mans head and with a scorpion like tail pricked the back of its neck. Suddenly the blooding of the red and black circuity soon filled with blue as they returned to their old color. As the sphere looked like a helmet on its head as desaad looked shocked
"Attack…attack while you still can!"he screams as they opened fire but infnity man picked the two teens up placing it on its head as they saw a pair of control on its head with the two sharing a look taking a control each
"Oh this is gonna be good!"jinny cheered as the thugs began to open fire at them but using the arm they blocked the gunfire before conner moved the controls swatting them to the ground with a determined look on his face. Eyeing bruno he tried to run but narrowing its gaze toward the tech. Firing a laser it destoryed the tech covering the man in nothing but a pair of boxers as he groaned
"Thats just wrong and ugly"conner said dropping him to the ground as the thugs where starting to run as the infinity man came at them taking small shots with their laser eyes to destroy their technology right now. As they did soon enough the apolotian opens a portal before walking through it growling pulling a grenade up from his sleeve
"All will suffer!"he shouted throwing it high in the air as it did infinity man fired a beam shooting it out of the air. But the wave from the blast knocked infinity man to the ground as conner and jinny with sphere dropped to the ground. With the new gods on the ground as sphere layed on the ground twitching in danger as she appeared damaged right now.
Conner easing himself rushed over with a worried looke as wolf bite the fatherbox destroying it into pieces. With vykin picking himself running over
"Can you did what you did for her"Conner aksed as he nodded placing his motherbox on the overlaps. As their was some oozing black sludge but as the motherbox pings. The sphere began to put itself back together before returning to her default shape as he smiled
"It seems that the healing process has begun we shall take her back to new genesis"vykin said to the two shock
"Excuse us?"jinny aksed
"We thank you for the help but new genispehre home is with the new gods"Dreamer said as the other new gods are behind her but conner glared at her
"No! No way that happening!"conner denied them to take her
"And why should we let you have her? To us she lives. To you she merely technology"serifan questioned as he growled
"Its not like that!"conner shouted
"Then what is then because you seem to care for her and the other human girl here"bear said making him snap a little
"Me and sphere bonded okay!? And so what i like her!?"conner shouted pointing at jinny who blushed for a brief moment as their was some silence with serifan and bear sharing a smile as dreamer smiles over at vykin as he smiled too
"It seems you are close to her. You may keep the sphere guard her well"Vykin said as conner sighed but jinny stepped forward
"Hey do you want that mother box i had laying around in my ancestor trunk i can go grab it"jinny asked
'No by all means keep it. Besides i am excited to tell of the jonah hex of his blood still being here. He has enjoyed his time with us maybe he can come for a visit"bear said as she found that to be amazing right now to hear.
As the new gods left them soon through another portal their was some silence between conner and jinny for a moment. Before suddenly she walked over wrapping her arms around him kissing him on the lips stunning him as he returned it as the two held each other in the moonlight right now sealing a new relationship with one another.
But back in the therapist office was m'gann closing her eyes"it was all my fault"She said as in the room with her was her brother as she hugged her knees as he kept quiet for now it seems
"Hello megan…who else can turn a simple exercise turn into a life and death nightmare that terrorizes all her frends she cared about. Even learning of her girlfriend who probably scared of her now"me'gann said hugging herself slowly going to a caucasian skin tone with m'comm looking surprise
"You've turned white"he said as this made her amber eyes calm up as she gasped in fear
"No!"she cried in fear but studied her hands seeing them to be a caucasian skin tone to her relief it seems
"You mean umm caucasian…i'm feeling fine being megan. Since i can;t be trusted with my powers"m'gann said but dinah looked toward m'comm who was brought here to comfort his sister
"Sister you are a martian. Not using our gifs is natural to us but…you need to understand you cannot hide your true heritage from them for long. You know how much it meant to me that you always where their for me when i was harassed. You helped bring me here…to keep me safe"m'comm said as she looked down for a moment looking away as canary sighed
"Look your powers are scary but when i firsted used my canary cry i nearly deafened my entire fire grade class. I understand that your scared but your uncle and brother are here to help you train. Beside you should feel comfortable to show them who you really are"black canary said making her perk up just a little
"I don't think their ready to see the real me…but training sounds nice"m'gann said as m'comm looked worried but hugged her.
As the hours kept passing for them returning was conner and jinny now as deciding to do something with some encouragement was conner sitting in the office with jinny as dinah noticed them together
"I already had you here jinny but…"she paused eyeing the two seeming to sense they got closer but conner sat their
"Its fine that she here but….when umm the attacked happened i wasn't devastated in the slightest. Even with superman, red tornado the whole league even dead. I didn't save wolf, i watched artemis, kaldur and jinnt die and abandoned all my friends but i felt…at peace for some reason"conner said as jinny placed a hand on him for a moment
"I'll take a step out supey"jinny said walking away leaving them as dinah soften her gaze and listen
"See from the moment i opened my eyes in cademus that pod their was one thing i wanted and feared. To know what is means to be superman and i knew i was happy."he started but met her eyes before dropping them back down
"Everyone i cared about died or traumatized and here i am happy. I…i how do i get past the guilt of something like this? How can i live with myself"he asked as their was some silence sensing his broken heart and new love he seemed to have found but she placed a hand on his knee
"I don't have the easy answer for you conner but this is the first step. And it seems someone will be their on that journey to be well"dinah said making him smile a little needing to hear this it seems.
With that we close another chapter for the team as it seems jinny and conner are starting something interesting between one another. Like I hinted at in a way both are sort of perfect for one another. in the comics if memory serves me right jinny is a mechanic and conner has a love for bikes. Besides what might happen next?
