In this chapter it'll be part one of two as the team will split up to handle a heart transplant along with mysterious ice fortresses. though their also seems to be something going on in Justice belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 33: Red Star Part 1
Mount justice november 11th 3:05 pm
It was a glorious day for everyone right now as they all where busy celebrating something for a certain speedster right now that being kid flashes birthday who was enjoying some cake and presents giving him the best birthday ever and two cakes right now as some where in the middle of talking mainly being jinx and deliah on her being apart of the team right now as she was enjoying her stay here now
"Man i can't believe i'm out of that lab finally and here i'm a full blown superhero"She said
"But your a sidekick like some of us without the hero mentor guiding you"deliah said as she actually was given someone that isn;t apart of the league but an allie
"Your joking i'm working with her uh that chick"She said gesturing to someone that being a women with tanned skin who had on black yoga pants and a form fitting purple sweater from the look of it as she had a curvy and modest bust size with flowing brown hair reaching her hips as she was a hero that wasn't apart of the league but an ally and friend who was busy helping console zatanan with robin on what happened to the poor things father recently as deliah heard about her
Her name was charmcaster some hero from louisiana skilled in voodoo and witch craft despite the superstition of witches being evil she was the acception if she recalled her name was blair
"Right her i forgot about her although oh lord look"she said pointing at something that being artemis whispering something to wally right now
"What?"jinx asked but she shushed her as they watched as artemis pointed at jinny and conner as the speedsters eyes widden for a moment as his jaw dropped before saying it
"Oh come on! You two are a thing?!"wally said opening his big mouth startling the two who eyed everyone in the room as laughing for a moment was robin
"You two think it wasn't obvious did you have to tell kid mouth about it"robin asked
"Guess thats out of the bag oh well"jinny said as greg laughed bumping shoulder with superman
"Seems my partner and your little clone supey are swinging for each other now eh"greg said bothering the man of steel being compared to the boy it seems still after all this time but something soon happened an alarm blaring getting their attention
"Attention team suit up. Polar stealth mission briefing in five'batman said as all of them got up running to the team area as right now they grouped up in the main hall with wally confused
"Wheres flash?"he asked
"Flahs and red tornado have different assignments. Along with that we've seen massive ice storms patalyzing the north american from coast to coast. Images from satellite has detected five ice fortressses source unknown for now"batman said
"Can;t your watchtower thing blow it out of the skie"Red-x asked
"A what?"jinx asked confused
As batman sighed"the league orbiting headqayrers is not a weapon. Both green lanterns are off world and we need all hands on deck"batman said startling them on what this meant right now
"No way! Were getting a team up!"wally shouted in join
"Fighting side by side witht he league now that sounds amazing"robin said
"Suprboy use your super cycle to rendezvou with the batplane at icefortress 1. You'll drop robin and aqualad off with wolf at ice fortest 2 with black canary and red tonrado. After that it'll be zatana, artemis, miss matain rendezvuing with green arrow and martian man hunter at ice fortress 3 others will be at 4 and 5"he said but he skipped some of them
"Wait your missing some of us"deliah said as he had a mission for them
"Thats because you and some of the other leaguers are investigating something else in russia."he paused as the screen displayed something a strange looking burned piece of something in the snowy landscapes destroying a treeline startling them
"What is that"jinny asked
"We don't know recent reports from an armed patrol from the russian military have spotted something. Your going to investigate it with your mentors as sighting of one wanted criminal was sighted in the area black spider."batman said making their attention drawn
"A league of assassin member….great another one"Red-x gripped as nico sighed crossing his arms
"Well don't worry kid you got me, greg and good old witchy here helping out and maybe a living nuclear bomb"revnant said to their shock that their working with them
"Wiat where going after a nuclear monster thats awesome"Wally said but the dark knight stopped him
"No a young girl in seattle is in desperate need of a heart transplant. The conventional air traffic is grounded by the storm you need to pick up the donor heart in boston then run 3000 miles cross county to give her it"batman said
"Can't we you know zeta"Wally asked feeling left out of all the good action right now but red-x reminded him of something
"That heart is going to someone important brat the next queen of a kingdom who parents are dead. You ever read the news"Red-x said making wally flinch for a moment as he didn't know that before he prepared himself
"Well if thats the case….fine"wally said fine with it as he sped out of the place as impressed was greg
"Huh smart move kid using that to convince him"greg said
"That surgery determines if a little girl will get hers shes already schedule tomorrow for her open heart surgery. With one of those doctors being here…so yeah he should be grateful"red-x said as the team split up once they have immediately they where left here confused
"Soooo how are we gonna get to russia"jinny asked confused as charmcaster snapped her fingers as her outfit appeared as she wore black leggings slightly torn on the top to make it look like she did it on purpose with full blown witch boots on and a blouse top presenting some of her bust a little as it had purple lining it while she sported a witch hat and cape to match as sh titled it down smiling
"Magic kiddios"She said before she snapped her fingers again as something happened they all blipped out of thin air as standing awakarldly their was m'comm holding ghost who titled his head
Russia november 11th
As immediately before they knew it the group found themselves in russia the cold and snowy climate of this russian land. But immediately shivering was jinx who didn't have her costume on thinking she wouldn't go on a mission right now since shes still new as she shivered in immense cold
"Cold…c-c–c-cold"jinx said before her mentor teacher snapped her fingers as jinx appeared in some purple and black stocking with matching black and purple mixed boots. While wearing a frill blouse top as she sported a simple witch hat on her head frowning eyeng her as she didn't like the hat part
"Not fancying the hat"charmcaster asked
"No"jinx said being honest ditching it as she did dusting snow off their shoulder was red-x
"So where in the middle of no where now aren't we"red-x asked but greg spun his revolvers around
"Not likly kiddio look over yonder"greg said gesturing to something as they all did to see something an old russian village but something was up it was in ruins. Their where building smashed up with super intense scorch marks all over the place with one person already here talking to the locals at the moment that being captain adam who was talking with an older man as they walked over with the man noticing them
"More heroes"the man asked in slight broken english it seems as captain adam noticed them
"Seems i'm getting your help on this mission. The others are dealing with the ice forteress i take it"captain adam asked
"They are captain how are things here"revenant asked as the man sighed
"From what russian i understood and the english the leader here knew. It seems some foreign creature attacked them something made of plasma from the look of these scorch marks"captain adam said confusing them for a moment as examining it confused was wraith never seeing something like this before
"What is this?'she asked but the captain moved her back before eyeing one of the villager who presented something a gigorcounter as they pointed it near the material it began to go off the charts to their shock immediately seeing that it was radioactive
"Wait thats radioactive i…oh come on…where dealing with this"jinx asked in shock right now
"Deal with it kid"Red-x said as they eyed him as he was a kid himself
"Your a kid too remember adult go missing and kids are all in their own world"jinny reminded as how could they be sure
"Maybe i had a amulet like that wilson chick"red-x suggested as they hate how secretive he was but one of the people spoke russian to the chief making them eye them wondering what their saying
"What are they saying"Wraith asked as charmcaster snapped her fingers as they heard something english
"Tell them about where the monster lives…tell them where it lives"the women said as they looked shocked to hear perfect english from her lips right now
"Wait your speaking english i….right magic"wraith commented forgetting some people can do that as captain adam crossed his arms finding this useful now
"And where does this thing live?"captain adam asked as the chief scoffed
"That freak of nature is the obvious reason for the attack he did this."the chief said
"He"greg replied as the man nodded pointing toward some of the mountains close by in the far off edges of the area
"Over their it comes down to terroize us for banishing him from this world he attacks when he needs supplies if we don't give him it. That boy is dangerous you need to kill him"the man demanded it seems but they won't do that
"Listen here sir we'll handle this according to protocol we'll contain the suspect and bring him in for questioining"captain adam said as the villagers walked away as eyeing the witch in the group was revnant
"Got a quick way up to that mountain"revnant asked as she had some bad news as her powers needed a coolday
"Sorry cowboy but remember teleportation like this drains my powers and besides we can talk to prepare the rookies for this"charmcaster said but the captain spoke up on them being here
"No they'll remain here i have no clue why you even brought them here because their all going to get in the way of things"the captain said making them hate him for that as they rather have the one thats a kid apparently with revenant sighing taking him to the side eyeing the kids back their
"Come on captain you gotta cut em some slack they've been proving themselves alot lately"revenant commented
"Really? Charmcaster just accepted a new sidekick who hardly has control of her powers and a criminal record. You have a theif and a gunslinger who father is a next level threat in my opinion they should have been left at the cave"adam said as overhearing that was vigilante scoffing at him
"Now partner we've tussled before but as a true blooded american myself we got a problem here from our russian friends. Who we may have had issue with in the old cold war but these kids deserve the chance to help us besides wanna anger the mighty batman"viganlente warned
As their was a moment of silence as he did hesitate on dealing with the dark knight but captain adam scoffed gesturing to follow as they all did beginning to trek up the mountain to where this monster was apparently not realizing they might be walking straight into the fray
The group had to make their way up the cliffside edges of this large mountain as thankfully casting a spell to keep them warm was charmcaster as they all began to make their way up the mountain that was quite steep. Its been a good couple hours as they kept walking as rubbing their arms for a moment was jinny
"Why did we get stuck on this frozen country of a land mass"jinny complained
"Come on now darling the snow is a change of pace from the deserts in texas"vinganlente reassured as their it was at least warm
"I could have a nice drink to cool off here i'm freezing my butt off"jinny replied hating this
"How do you think the others feel kid their in the same situation as us right now i'm sure."red-x replied quickly making his way up some rocks as rubbing her arms seeming troubled was wraith which revenant noticed
"Heyya kiddio you okay"revenant asked snapping her back to reality
"Yeah you've been quiet an awfully long time right now"jinx added noticing her troubled as the teen rubbed her neck for a moment sighing briefly
"Its just nothing seeing that women with my powers is uh bothering me"wraith replied as revenant tried to play along but jinx eyed the others seeing them ahead before calling her out on it
"You mean how rose might be your sister"jinx said to the two shock she figured that out so quick as revenant covered her mouth eyeing the others taking a quick break ahead to rest up as they did he eyed her shocked how she knew
"How do you know about that"he asked not even hiding it as she eyed them surprised
"Your joking right? It was obvious since in prison word is she had a baby sister since she has two brothers"jinx said to their shock even deliah to hear that she might have two brother who are just as insane maybe as her possible
"Wait she has..brothers"wraith asked stunned for a moment but something happened a blinding headache pierced her skull making her wince in minor pain. Clutching it something happened something began to happen a memory from her past
Memory
Not knowing the exact day or time of this she could hardly remember it but all she could remember is her being a little girl maybe as she saw herself holding someone hand that faces was obscured but she could recall having an ice cream cone in hand as the other person did as they were a man it seems not even by a few years older than her it seems but they had ice cream as well speaking to her
"You liking that baby sis"the voice said as she could hardly remember their face or voice but the younger her nodded
But as the two walked and enjoyed the nice treat in hand they soon enough they walked through a door as someone called them out
"Where the hell where you two at"Another male voice said but it seemed to scare the younger deliah who clung to the man leg as it was a muscular man who didn't seem to much older than the man who sighed for a moment
"Come on i took her out for treats you really gonna get on my butt for that"the first man said but the second scoffed jabbing him the chest
"Our father said not to let her out after her training is done did you get her training done"the second man said as he forcefully grabbed her making her scream as the first man tackled her to the ground as she fell to the ground blacking out not watching what happened that day
Memory end
Gasping for a moment wraith held her head shaking it as revannt guided her to sit down as running back was charmcaster as they've been taking forever
"Whats taking so long with you all"she asked as its been minutes as they've been calling them like crazy as the man didn't know for sure
"No clue but…."he paused as dripping from wraith backup mask was blood that touched the snowny ground once it did it startled them for a brief moment seeing her bleeding
"Your bleeding"jinx said as wraith moved her mask up whipping it off as she got a nosebleed confusing her
"Guess i just got one"she replied as they stood their for a moment before a loud crunch of wood was heard startling them as suddenly viganlente gigorcounter went off the charts beeping and blaring before exploding to their shock as smashing through the woods was something that burned in the snow. That being a beast that was made entirely of pure energy that seemed to glow red hot and white with it having three black eyes that glowed as it roared out at them as taking a stance was jinny firing a few shots at the beast
But as her bullets hit the creature they melted them away to her shock as it raised its arms to smash her into bits. But diving to safety was jinny as the beast slammed the ground she looked back to see the ground becoming irritated immediately to her shock causing her to back up feeling heat from the impact zone
"Found our monster!"jinny called out as quickly waving her hands around casting a purple glow was charmcaster launching a deadly blast of purple energy hitting the creature that growled in anger going for them raising its large arms slamming it into the snow once it did it sent burning pieces of snow everywhere as it barely event touch red-x burning his cape slightly as he put it out in shock
"Is it me or is that thing pretty hot"Red-x asked
"Your not kidding sticky fingers this thing blew up the gigor counter got a plan captain"Viglante asked as the captain cracked his neck raising his hands charging up a nuclear blast firing a blast straight into it. As he did something happened once the energy hit the beast it began to slowly grow in size to their minor shock right now
"Sooo nuke powers make it bigger"Wraith joked as they tried to come up with something as they did suddenly something was launched into the beast at that moment a strange looking dart that stunned it making it howl out in utter pain as it did this confused the heroes as it fell down before the culprit revealed themselves
Standing on a hill was men in hazmat suits with one seeming to be the leader as they were all wearing heavy duty white hazmat suits as the man approached them with an anger motion to his walk
"Are you all mad?! Mad! This creature is highly radioactive"the man said in anger it seems sounding to have a chinese accent with english mixed in
"Mad? You just….uh took down the monster here pal"jinx replied as shushing her was revenant who approached them putting a hand up as some of the men in hazmat eyed them down which he noted right now as the leader made a motion with the men in hazmat gear beginning to drag away the beast into some containment tube trapping it as it growled at them scratching at the tube as it did this made red-x eye them before hiding behind a tree which jinny noticed wondering why he is doing that
As he did the leader took off the helmet revealing a man of asian descent with black hair that was unkmept and long with old fashion reading glasses on his face
"We take the monster down as it dangerous creation from us of new nuclear energy we are making"The man said as not hardly buying it was captain adam
"New nuclear energy in a place like this the villager said that something was attacking their village a boy. Is that a person"captain adam said but the scientist shook his head
"No…no it is…well…uh byproduct of nuclear waste and new energy we make. We need to dispose of such a beast before it becomes something….terrible"the man said as before they could question him further suddenly something hit the snow looking down the captain went wide eyed seeing it was a hand grenade
"Grenade!"the captain called out dive bombing onto it as he did the others jumped back as the strange professor immediately leaped onto a nearby snowcat as some of his men hooked up the beast to a few skis before driving off with it fast in the snow as they did the grenade went off barely scratching the captains protective suit
As it scratched his suit someone began to yell at them as suddenly gunfire came narrowly hitting them as it did suddenly someone began to speak in russian toward them
"ты заплатишь за то, что забрал ее смерть!"the voice said sounding male as on a nearby hill sporting an ak-47 opening fire on them was someone who kept shooting at them as he did dodging the gunfire was wraith who charged up a blast firing it at the attacker knocking them into a wall at that moment
Once she did looking at the strange group they already bolted away from them as sighing was vigilante
"Their go our culprits"viganlante said
"But they might be nice they took that monster down where done here"jinx said as it was never like that as the captain stood up dusting his chest off as they walked over toward the man who groaned on the ground but forcefully picking him up was an anger revenannt right now
"What the heck is your problem buddy throwing grenades could have gotten someone killed."revennant siad before the hood came off their attacker to reveal something that being a young teenager who was maybe seventeen years old in appearance but he seemed quite muscular for a boy his age with bright red hair and green eyes as he groaned on the ground before glaring at them
"Bup don't speak russian you know any english"viganlante asked
"He won't just know english"charmcaster replied but he did
"I do know english you american dog"the boy said to their minor shock as letting him go was nico but not on purpose as he felt a little hot to the touch right now to his confusion as the boy growled at them but as he did putting hands up was red-x
"Take it easy buddy we aint with them where heroes"red-x said but he growled at them
"Liars! You helped them…you helped them take her!"the boy shouted in anger confusing them for a moment as they took that creature
"They took some monster buddy that aint a girl"wraith replied but the boy growled walking over punching her in the face knocking her to the ground pissing her off but as she was ready to attack she flinched as suddenly something was happening to the boy his body was starting to glow bright red right now which made him cry in pain as it was the same color like the beast
Seeing the color and him glowing in confusion was jinny"the heck is up with this guy he attacks us and now is glowing"She said as the boy began to run away from them as they gave chase
It wasn't too long as they saw the boy running straight into a old looking heavy duty door that looked to be prepared to fight against nukes. But once inside it looked to be a miniature place to house nuclear waste or materials even but the boy ran straight into a nearby coolant room slamming the door shut tight as he did pounding on the door was an annoyed wraith
"Open up you jerk you punched me in the face for no reason"She demanded but suddenly the chamber gauge began to go off ticking like crazy before a loud scream of pain was heard as a bright red energy shot out from the glass illumianting the room as the alarms blared and blared for a moment before stopping as it did slowly it stopped before the blaring stopped
They waited for a moment before the doors opened as stepping out was the boy who had steam coming off his body before groaning falling to his knees as they wonder what just happened as approaching him touching him was captain adam
As the boy looked at him shocked"do not touch me"he shouted in fear pushing him off as he went from anger to fear now
"What is with this guy"jinx asked
"Take it easier their kiddio now mind using your words than fighting now after your little tantrum"viganlante asked as upon second glance the boy studied them for a brief moment before looking confused
"You are not dressed like the strange people here….you are not dressed like them"the boy said to their confusion
"Course where not who do you think we were"charmcaster asked as the boy settled down seeing no threat as he looked down
"I thought you where with the strange men that took me and my sister misha"the boy said to their confusion
"Misha? Whos misha"revnant asked to the teens surprise how quick the heroes are to question someone who was scared as wraith was their at one point in her life with her own powers as jinny crossed her arms eyeing the structure of this place for a moment
"She is my sister…she was taken by that man the one who did this to us"the boy said to their confusion
"Wait that man in the hazmat gear that we were questioning before you threw a grenade at us"revenant asked as he nodded
"Dah that was him he did this too me he…took me…he took me and my sister turning us into monsters…with the um…ah umm…strange cylinders"the boy said as they felt left out of the loop as wanting some questions now was captain adam
"What strange cylinders they have a giant radioactive logo on it"the captain asked as the boy thought nodding to him
"They did i…i…are you here to kill me…like the villagers…they keep trying to kill me…along with my sister for weeks now"the boy said in fear as stepping forward was wraith
"No we were sent to investigate this rumor of a plasma monster are you saying its your sister"she asked as he growled at her calling the creature an it
"She is no it! Misha is my little sister those men did that to her they turned her into that"the boy said as settling him down was vigilante
"Settle down sport we see that now mind telling us the rundown of whats going on here along with maybe giving us your name"viganlante asked as the boy thought for a moment nodding
"My name is leonid"the boy introduced himself
As the strange crew of hazmat soldiers got to a small campsite not that far from the village as some of them where preparing a large statis like devices beginning to load the beast into it as it howled out in pain and sorrow as it did approaching the lead man from before was a familiar person black spider who sighed
"Lookie here chang got one of his pet projects for his employers you got the other runt"black spider asked as the man named chang scoffed at that
"Of course not heroes involved they get in way but do not worry subject one distract them before recognize me"chang said but black spider hummed eyeing someone close by
That being a man it seems in his late thirites with a tall but slight muscular look as he was sporting a full black bodysuit with a utility belt and pouches on his hips while he had seathes for some swords on his back along with sporting gray graves, guanlents while sporting a cloth mask over his face colored jet black with two red eyes it seems as he narrowed them before hoping down as he seemed anger as chang flinched to see him
"Who was here"the man asked in a gruff voice as the professor thought for a moment recalling some
"A cowboy and cowgirl….a witch…some pale skin girl…uh….two i do not recognize…one wore a uh…black suit…a girl why ask"chang asked as the man seemed intrigued right now turning to the direction of the way they came laughing under his mask on who might be coming this way right now.
Seems that the league and their little tagalongs ran into some nuclear trouble. If you don't know redstar he was a russia hero whos pretty much a walking nuke I took inspirtation of his design from teen tians when he made his debut episode. But what will happen next with this mysterious masked figured. Thanks for reading!
