With this chapter its the thankgiving time for them and despite the holiday i'm posting this real quick for those who wanted to read something other than listen to politics. But someone might be sharing something in common from their shared lab Justice belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 37: Lab Rat Buddies
November 25th mount justice 10:25 am
It was a snowy day for everyone in the cave at that moment as it was a special day as it was thanksgiving day. With everyone celebrating the holiday as eating some cranberries was wally going mhmm
"Man i love thanksgiving gobble gobble get in my mouth"wally said but smashing his hand was a wooden spoon looking up it belonged to an annoyed looking m'gann
"Stop it wally because these are for dinner besides you have your own family gathering to get to"m'gann said
"She has a point better get going speedy"red-x said as the speedster sighed zipping out as he was right now looking a little better trying to sneak some cranberry sauce was piper as m'gann eyed her as the girl slinked down. But she grabbed a small bowl handing her it as she ate it smiling
"Well seems someone getting special treatment"deliah said
"Shes just a kid but this is what you humans call cranberry sauce its quite delicious"m'comm said as smacking his hand away was his sister
"Stop eating the food guys because were preparing alot for the small group we have here"m'gann said as jinny was here since her mentor was buys or whatever
"What my mentor is busy in his dumb league meeting or whatever"jinny mentioned
"Right that because jinx headed out after running into her apparent aunt and uncle who took her in despite her powers. She seems happy"red-x mentioned as recently the doctors at star labs found her relatives who gladly took her into their loving home.
While their was leonid rubbing his neck as misha was their looking better if you will as she wore blue jeans and a olive colored sweater as she was playing a video game failing at it as she was saying something in russian probably swears
"Are those good russian words or bad russian words"Deliah asked
"It is best you do not know but i am surrpsied some of you are here and not with your families"leonid said as sighing was jinny
"Moms been dead for a long time i miss her but i'm making her special thanksgiving pie a recipe passed down for generations in our family"jinny said
"Secret pie might steal the recipe"red-x joked
"Bup do that and i'm taking the mask off since that thing is tighter than a hog tied by its toes"jinny said as he rolled his eyes under his mask as conner stood off to the side looking at them bothered about something but leonid eyed deliah
"What about you are you doing to your family?"leonid asked as she eyed him
"Why bring that up"deliah asked brushing her hair to the side
"You are daughter of big CEO who owns large security company would you not want to spend time with your family"leonid asked not taking the hint as she started to walk away as ghost titled his head at his owner
"I uh….i rather not spend time this year with them i'm heading to my room for a bit"deliah said with an uncomfortable look on her face as leonid was confused
"Was it something i said"leonid asked
"Maybe take the hint she doesn't wanna talk to her family rusky"conner said rudely walking away hurting the russian boy who followed him but as he did conner heard a high pitch tune only he heard as he felt someone calling to him it seems right now
As he walked out leonid followed him grabbing his suit just incase as he watched the superboy board his supercycle with wolf following him onto the cycle as redstar had one thing that was flight as he began to follow them to wherever they where going right now.
Washington DC november 11:38am
It was a long flight for the russian hero but he followed the superboy who was just arriving somewhere under a bridge but he watched him go into a white limo. As red star watched this happened he was quite confused him for a moment but as he watched after some time he saw him leave but he caught a glance of someone in the limo that being lex luthor who he seemed to recognize a little
After that the russian hero in training decided to follow him closer as he kept following him to a strange looking building that had the words cademus on it as he finally decided to approach him as the gates where opening as he called to him
"Superboy what are you doing here"redstar called out shocking conner he was here
"What are you doing here?"superboy asked as stepping out was someone
"Oh you made a friend superboy"a voice said looking at the source it belonged to a man who wore a golden colored helmet who had a quite built look as this was guardian as by his side was a strange tall slender man with blue skins with a radically shapes head mostly human and a pair of horns on his head with no nose as he wore a patient shirt and matching pants for his outfit as it shocked the russian
"Are you an alien like green girl"red star asked as it made guardian laugh
"No not at all well sort of but what brings you here?"guardian asked as conner eyed the russian hero ignoring him
"I'm here about the super clone where are you hiding it"conner questioned to their minor confusion as a women was also their
"Conner their is no one else here like that your the only one i'm needed in my lab guardian please handle this"dr spencer said walking away as he sighed escorting the two inside right now as they did the man removed his helmet as conner looked shocked he looked just like red arrow
"You look just like red arrow"superboy said
"Well he is my nephew though whos your friend he seems foreign"guardian asked
"I am red star well uh liberated victim of a man cruel punishment"red star said
"Huh really like superboy here since he praddled about it when he was escaping here i don't blame yah kid the old cademus was terrible but where brand new. We even educated the genomorphs"guardian said
"geomorphs?"Red star asked as they passed by something that stunned him strange looking creatures straight from some medievil world from their appearance some looked like elfs or dwarfs even as he stared at them for a moment
"Heyya benny?"guardian greeted a g-dwarf cleaning some dishes right now as it waved to them as red star smiled a little but as he did conner seemed weary of the place before someone spoke to him in his mind
"You can trust him superboy he is trustworthy"dubberliex voice said
"Unlike you. Still hiding your psychic powers"conner said as that strange man from before was in an office doing paperwork
"But some secrets have their place. Besides we are all created as weapons you were designed to–"he cut him off in the mind link
"To replace or destory superman i know whats the point"superboy though
"That you should understand the plight of those left behind after i helped free you from cadmus"dubberilex said as he looked down for a moment
"But the league liberated all the genomorphs"conner said through the link
"Did they? We are not free to walk the surface but reduced to menial labor now"dubbilex said as he looked down
"Guardian could a super clone exist without your knowing"conner asked as he eyed him as back in that limo from early watching confused a little was lex luthor humming to hismelf on the friend that boy has with him
"Now who is this"lex asked scanning the boy with the cameras hes controlling getting barely enough information on him just that hes emitting high doses of radiation making him intrigued it seems
"What are you talking about? You are the only superboy"Red star asked as he growled a little at him but guardian was calm
"Look i don't know if that exist but why even ask"guardian asked
"I intend to free it like the others did just like aqualad, kid flash and robin freed me"conner said but it sounded like he was talking to someone else confusing guardian and red star as the man sighed annoyed
"Look i have my own missing genomorphs to locate but you got the run of the place. And uh i doubt you'll find what your looking for besides keep your friend on a short leash okay"guardian said as conner growled walking ahead with red star chasing after him
The two experimented teens soon arrived at something a door light up with the words project Kr as conner and with wolf into it as red star looked around seeing a pod in the room scaring him a little which wolf noticed whining as conner stared at him
"What is it?"conner growled as he glanced at redstar who looked at the pod as a flash happened for him. As he had a flash where he saw himself in the lab with dr chang as he was pounding on it in fear as he was watching something happen right now his own sister with tears in a similar pod smashing her hands screaming but he couldnt' hear it
But the man named chang smiled at him pressing a button before leonid looked back in fear seeing a large piece of strange red energy coming toward him as he screamed for a moment as the blinding energy costumed him. In the real world leonid clutched his chest panting and finding it a bit hard to breath which conner noticed
"Are you okay"conner asked as leonid coughed for a moment before calming his breathing
"I am fine this place it reminds me of…what that man did to me and my sister it…does not bring back good memories"red star said making him question him
"Then why did you even follow me?"conner asked as the russian heard of his tale from the others briefly
"I heard from m'gann and the others at the uh cave one day about your story. How you used to be an experiment like me""leonid said
"I am nothing like you i…"he was stopped seeing something the wall was a little off as wolf was scratching it. Walking over he gripped the fleshy walls tearing them off to reveal something a large chamber with scores of pods all over the place to redstars shock as they walked in seeing scores of pods all over the place as they did one caught his eyes a frosted over pod
Walking over he moved it slightly as conner flinched inside of it was him as he saw something on the pod door project match. As red star noticed the similar features
"He has your face…what is this"redstar asked
"A victim"superboy said finding a button as he pressed it as the pod door opened with ice coming off it as the project named match slowly fell out as he doens't move much as conner smiled
"Its okay your free now"Conner promised but matched stared at the S on conner chest angering him as he flinched before match let out a yell of unbridled rage chagrin forward tackling conner to the ground as they began to roll around the place. Seeing this red star aimed his hands to fire of a blast which conner noticed
"Don't i got this!"coner shouted but it didn't seem like it as match threw him through some of the tubes smashing them complete as he roared in rage jumping forward delivering a flurry of punches and strikes to him several times as it was hard to get through to him. With match staring at the S on conner shirt doing something as he threw him through several pods
As match growled at him approaching for another fight wolf snarled leaping onto him biting at him before match grabbed him throwing the wolf straight into conner as he saw him coming at him he caught him outside the broken doorway. Though as match came for him red star fired a charge blast hitting him as it made him glare at the russian who pounded his fist together
Red star screamed as he leaped forward swinging his fist as it connected agains match but he grabbed his hand unfazed by the hit throwing him straight into a wall hard as he grunted in pain from that as conner and him look to see match starting to take flight
"He can fly like you?"Red star asked
"No i cannot why can he fly"superboy said as the clone growled doing something else firing off a blast of heatvision from his eyes hitting red star as he screamed taking the energy making conner growl as he jumped up punching the clone in the air as he landed on the ground growling at him like a wild animal right now as conner panted for a moment seeing as he tore off match s suit
As match roared leaping forward slamming both his fist on the ground slamming him right through the floor sending concrete everwhere. The shattering of the ground made it impossible with enhanced vision as the dust was settling conner laid on the ground unconscious but match let ouf a victorious yell as he eyed the S on conner shirt
Then breathing heavy he eyed a reflective surface on a door using it to burn the S into his chest but it was backwards but something made him cry in pain as he clutched his head
For what felt like forever conner began to awake by seeing a bright light that scared him as he opened his eyes to see what he was in a pod. As he was also in a solar suit making him panic for a brief moment right now
"no..no..no!"he shouted pounding on the pod but it suddenly opened as he spilled out panting on his knee looking up he saw red star their smiling at him
"You are awake my friend ha ha"redstar said shaking him with a smile but he shoved him off glaring at dr spencer, dubbliex and guardian as he growled at them
"Its alright conner we saved you"spence shouted
"Its not alright! You put me back in a pod!"he shouted
"It was the only way to heal your injuries"she plainly told him
"Your another cadmus mad scientist picking off where desmond left off last time! Project match is yours admit!"he snarled pointing a finger at her face as she glared at him
"Believe what you want i'm done here"she refutes walking away as guardian sighed
"Superboy look we were shocked ourselves to see what you called this match that you two were fighting"guardian said
"And where did he go"conner demanded
"We don't know camera went off during the battle found you two knocked out and match was gone"dubbliex informed eying red star who glanced at him it seems
"And he isn't the only one to disappear we need to get to the bottom of this"guardian said as tehey left right now as they did conner began to get his clothes back on before a nearby screen came on showing lex luthor
"So the truth wasn't that hard to find after all no permanent damage thanks to the little russian friend following you"luthor said
"Like you care? Tell me what you know about match"conner questioned
"Conner are you trusting this man he is a bad guy from what captain adam told me when he showed me few villains he hates superman"Red star said
"Come now my boy i may hate him but i'm trying to help i know very little here. Krtponian DNA is noritfisouly difficult for human science to read we created you to replace superman incase he died. Now as much as i hate him he does have his uses incase the world ends. But for you..we didn 't give you all his powers i wonder why maybe something else"luthor said making conner feel himsellf over in shock
"I'm part human"Conner said to red star shock
"Yes its the obvious answer. The other one your twin has pure hyprtonian DNA with the missing seuqnece it drove match insane you he needed to be put on ice as soon as possible"luthor ordered
"Not happening"conner snapped
"Your call either way you'll need these"he said as a compartment opened up revealing a case with superman s on it
"A gift for you these are called shield. Stick one on your arm it'll suppress your human DNA and then for an hour your a kryptonian but well as for your friend here well he shouldn't know such things why don't you wait outside"luthor said
"No i stay because he is my friend"redstar said as conner growled a little at him
"I don't want these from you take them back"he said but the man sighed
"Keep them as a gift chiao"luthor said as conner quickly got done dressing his clothes but glanced at red star
"Spill"conner said as he eyed him
"What do you mean superboy"redstar said seeming to be playing dumb as he stared at him
"Your heart rate and dubbilex increased you two are lying about match being gone aren't you"conner siad before his voice came to him
"You are right brother it seems you and the boy here share a past i read his mind he can be trustworthy he even roughed himself up more to fake his injuries"dubbeliex said as conner saw a bruise on redstar cheek as he smiled at him
"Wait why would you do that for me you two…you know"he thought through the link as redstar walked over placing a hand on his shoulder
"We are not so different you and i. I may be from russian but i was taken from my home from my family. Me and my sister where experimented on to be someone weapon but i wish to not be their weapon you seem to be like the same. When i first arrived in the cave you seemed to be strange but the more i talked to the others you seem like me….a weapon who doesn't want to be a weapon"Red star said making conner eye him for a moment before gesturing to follow
The two of them followed some directions from dubbilex as they did they soon arrived at something some stairs leading down as they traveled down them they soon found something a large space that seemed to contain a cavern. As the halls where decorated by genomorphs all over the place as waiting for them was dubbilex
"Welcome to genomorph city"he greeted
"The missing genomorps your responsible"conner said in shock
"I am. One by one i liberated them and brought them here to keep them safe our brothers. Of course i have a dream but one day the world you live in will accept us but for now genomoprh city exist. Which is why i mindlinked with him i told him what was going on he was fine with it"Dubbilex said
"Yes yes he told me that he means no harm that he wants to help them like your friends and the ones that saved me and my misha. "Redstar said with a smile as conner was shocked by saw match right now with three small imp like genomes with glowing horns as chained to a pillar was match to his shock
"Did you help with this"Conner asked his teammate who was stunned
'No…no! He told me to…rough myself up and he save him"Red star
"Do not be anger toward him he had no idea. But his current condition the g-gnomes keep him docile"dubbilex said
"And the chains"conner asked
"For everyone safety if he escapes this could set us back decades"he warned
"So you hold him like prisoner like the men that tortured me and my sister like the people here to him"red star shouted as it caught match attention who slowly looked up seeing conner chest seeing the S as he roared in rage tearing the chains off at that moment as he flew forward burying conner into the rock behind him as he screamed grunting
The attack makes red star fire a red beam of plasma at him as wolf barked and barked leaping onto him as he did he sent the canine into a stalamite as dubbilex tried to use his powers but it only slowly but he roared punching him back as red star screamed getting locked in a fierce fist as conner coughed and coughed looking up rubbing his chest for a moment as he saw match elbow drop red star to the ground hard as he grunted in pain with superboy debating the shield
But he looked up recalling the words red star said early how their alike as it seemed to stick to him. As match raised his fist slamming onto redstar head hard as he groaned as he growled taking the patch slapping it on his arm before his heart rate began to skyrocket as his pupils shrinked before he clenched his fist
Match came in soaring screaming in rage as he punched him but it was caught as the joints cracked as he was surprised but conner smiled as it was his true. Harshly yelling he delivered an uppercut to match chin throwing him back and high up as he caught himself flying off but conner flew after him
The two of them charged screaming clashing as match turned his heat vision on blasting him but as it did he hit a knocked him back as match crashed into him trying to drive his thumbs into his eyes as conner fired a stream of lasers into his chest hard as he screamed as superboy picked him up beginning to slam him over and over into the ground again. As he did someone called to him
"Superboy stop!"guardian yelled panic looking to the source he flinched as it was mercy and guardian with several swat members angering him as red star looked down. After that match was locked up in a pod freezing again as the two teens stared at the hero
"It has to be this way sorry get home safe"guardian said as the two shared looks leaving. As they left but conner looked up seeing luthro their as he growled
"Their was a tracker in the tinbox you made the cloning project after all"superboy said
"Yes i did"luthor said
"Then the league needs to know this you will answer for your crimes"redstar said before luthor hummed
"Meltdown"luthor said suddenly making red star clutch his head as he screamed in pain falling to the ground shocking conner
"What did you do?"conner asked
"Why what professor chang put in the boy you both do share that together. Although a good businessman keeps tracks of his assest. But does the fact you have human dna wonder who your donor is. Face it you have more in common with me compared to superman anyday"lex said
"Thats a lie!"superboy shouted
"What has he even given you nothing. Not even affection i wonder why because big boy blue lives in a world of black and white"luthor said making him look away
"You were created by the bad guys so was he and his sister. Both of you made to serve but the world isn;t all that. Its full of grays and weren't you determined to free match at all cost? Yet ultimately you wisley agreed to my suggestion to refreese him for the greater good. And though me a villain you used my gift to you we are more alike than you think"luthor said
"Take them back"conner demanded
"Keep em as a gift to a father to his son"luthor said smugly as he clenched his fist not needing them for what he planned next
"I won't need them for this"he said cocking his fist back
"Red sun"luthor said freezing him up as suddenly he regained conscious as he looked around seeing him gone as getting up was redstar confused
"What happened?"Red star asked as superbor held his head
"A single word for each of us and he put us done i mean…he…he….he helped make you and your sister have your powers"conner said in shock
"I heard that part what do we do?"red star asked as he looked down
"I don't know but the league can't know about this because he might make us do whatever he wants"conner said as redstar looked down but placed a hand on his shoulder with a determined look
"We shall find a way to break this. We are not his puppets if we need to hide it i will hide it with you my american friend. We are like brothers in this"red star said as it made conner smile at him for a moment
"I guess hey maybe we could catch up on the dinner with everyone else."conner said as the russian nodded as they walked to the supercycle with a new found friendship for each other now.
With that it seems that superboy and redstar share something in common both being luthors pet rats for his experiments and weapon projects. Though cleaver little reference here i did this since the abridged series had him be a pure blooded russian which was funny and wanted to reference that here. Thanks for reading!
