In the last chapter we saw redstar and superboy bonding as some of the league are busy deciding on who to add to their league and while someone contemplates on what might be her true family ties in her belongs to greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti.
Chapter 38: Family is Everything

Back inside of the cave as redstar and superboy had their own adventure humming a little enjoying the earth holiday was m'gann as she was busy pulling some food out from an oven as it seemed to be a steamed hem as eyeing it was ghost wagging his tail as he barked and yipped for the ham as she laughed
"Sorry but your not getting any yet"m'gann said as the pup whine
"Come now sister give the earth creature some food"m'comm said as she eyed him
"Well seems someone becoming more earth friendly you seemed to be rather rude to us at first"jinny pointed out
"I've grown accustomed to such things besides that garfield logan boy intrigues me"m'comm replied
"Thats because he called you blood brother and found you cool when he saw your true form"m'gann said
"Which i still can't believe i mean your like him but just green"jinny said as internally m'gann laugh with m'comm staring at her worried keeping it guessing she was not ready just yet right now although as they sat their misha was busy speaking to herself in russian a little as they shared looks
"Do you guys have any idea what this girl is saying"jinny asked as sighing was zantana casting a small spell

"Gah this is so annoying where are leonid. You leave and not tell me you are annoying big brother"misha said as they were relived to hear her speak english
"Thank god we hear english i was sick of trying to decipher what she was saying"red-x said as he was brushing piper hair as misha seemed to hear him

"I managed to make it so your mind thinks your speaking russian but your speaking english. That sort of implies to you are we speaking russian"m'gann said as from her view she was
"Yes but that is strange ummm green girl"misha replied
"Not used to seeing aliens still huh"jinny asked
"No i am not was i uh bothering you for being mad at my brother"misha asked embarrassed now it seems
"Believe me your not the only one here whos a little brother despite being the more mature and smarter one here"m'comm replied eyeing his won sister as she eyed him for that rolling her eyes as misha sighed
"Sorry just not used to be somewhere slightly warm i am used to the cold and well being that…creature it was…scary"misha said with a hint of fear in her tone
"Hey we get it besides this place could use more people at first it was just me and conner felt lonely here"m'gann said as sighing was jinny
"After that delilah then me then it was well…uh red-x here"jinny said
"Then after the dashing thief it was the pale skinned weirdo with bad luck powers then you two the walking nukes"Red-x taunted as she narrowed her gaze with her eyes slightly glowing red like her brother but shook her head but zantana sighed for a brief moment
"You know this will be my first thanksgiving without both my parents now. With mom gone and dad…being dr fate its kind of sad"zatana said as placing a hand on her back was jinny
"Hey i lost my mom too…though for dads mine can go suck an egg hes downright evil yours he did what a father did to protect his daughter"jinny said making her feel a tad bit better hearing that right now
"Thanks thought i was gonna cry all of a sudden"zantana said
"Well you could but guess where back from our little trip"conner said walking in with leonid as the two where carrying a few groceries as misha growled at her brother
"Leonid where did you go?"misha asked scaring redstar for a moment as wolf yawned a little limping from their fight early as it surprised jinny
"Whats wrong pup you hurt"she asked as the wolf whined a little but layed down as conner sighed setting some groceries down
"He hurt his paw outside mainly being uh well…."he paused thinking of a lie as redstar accidential stepped on wolfs tail making him yelp as he turned back growling at him as that made them assume what happened
"Ohhhh you mad the mutt mad"red-x taunted as red star put hands up scared now
"Good wolf…good wolf i mean no harm uh steak"leonid asked presenting a steak in packing as wolf tail wagged on that as he tossed him it with wolf tearing the packaging open scrafing the raw meat down
"Look at him go guy was hunger though your pretty bang up to get in a tussle out their"jinny asked seeing the bruise on leonid face
"We did some muggers scared them with well…grunting and shouting at them"conner said as jinny laughed pecking him on the cheek
"Well someone quite a hero like his big old counterpart"jinny said making him feel a little anxious on that but as they started helping unpack the groceries worried for someone was m'gann looking to the rooms which zatana noticed
"Let me guess worried for the person skipping thanksgiving with her own family"zatana said
"Yeah its worrying why she would be skipping it"m'gann said but having a small slip of the tongue it seems was red-x
"Thats because she found out mommy was an assassin"red-x suddenly said as they all eyed him with m'gann going wide eyed with jinny going shocked right now herself
"What are you talking about?"jinny asked as m'gann growled at him which conner noticed wondering if shes know something now not wanting to tell them about what him and leonid learned about him and lex luthor
"Red-x keep someone private life out of your own mouth"m'gann said before crossing her arms
"Besides don't try to enstow doubt within our ranks like sportmaster did"She added as the thief crossed his arms staring at her knowing what happened that night with queen bee as he kept that on the hush hush for now
"Its obvious that her mom was an assassin i mean i do my fair share of research besides kind of hard when your mom is nightshade the deadliest league assassin every who apprently died years ago. And her–"someone suddenly stopped him
"Enough"a voice said as they looked back flinching seeing katherine standing their as eyeing a nearby phone carefully was jinny
"You don't need to call the league…they already know who i am"katherine said not bothered by it to their shock as ready to fight her was conner but felt slightly weak from the fight with match before
"Why are you here? Here to kill us?"jinny asked as she closed her eyes
"I came to check on my daughter she hasn't answered any of my calls for weeks now and….look…just…i am nightshade a former league of assassins member"katherine said as zatana readied a spell but she eyed her snapping her fingers before a haze appeared from her hands creeping them out as it was just like delilah
"Your…you have her powers"jinny said
"Because she shares them with me and its a family gift. I just came to drop off her favortie meal for thanksgiving but i hear a little rat talking about something he shouldn't be divulging till someone comfortable"katherine warned
"You threatening me?"red-x asked before katerine blinked out of thin air before she stood right over piper scaring them especially him as he seemed ready to attack as she eyed him down
"Seems you do care about something i suggest keeping your mouth shut till the time is right. Because right now…i already know the questions going through my daughter mind right now are overwhelming her…her powers and who i am. But know this i left that life behind years ago because i was sick and tired of living a life as a killer. Always watching over your back waiting till someone kills you…."she paused looking down with shame which jinny could tell as she was raised by a good man
"Fine we won't tell her"jinny said to their shock right now
"Your serious?"conner asked stunned as she eyed her
"I've always been curious about you i mean….nico and greg seem to be supportive of me and that girl of yours being heroes. But that would imply the league knows and i bet even others on the team knows"jinny said
"Smart girl your right some of them do know i'll be telling them about this meeting because try anything i'll know oh and red-x….try anything like this again i'll make sure to tear that mask off and burn whoever is underneath"katherine said waving her hand over her body disappearing into nothing as they sat their in shock
"Are we really not gonna tell the league about this"zantana asked
"I'm sure they already know judging by the cameras in the place"m'comm replied gesturing to one close by as sighing was jinny
"Well guess thats a discussion for another time anyway what did she bring"She said as close by on a table was a tray of cinnamon rolls as eyeing them was a weary misha
"Did she posion them"She asked as already eating one was her brother as he swallowed the bite into his mouth as they tasted good
"If they were posion why would they taste so good?"leonid asked as it stunned them as zatanan did some test as m'gann walked off to find her girlfriend right now deciding to keep this secret for now.

Up in the stars high above the world where meeting for a special meeting right now mainly being the decision of a life time. As they where in the middle of a talk of adding more league members to their group to expand themslves
"Another expansion of the league could help generate the escalation of hostilities from our enemies"martian manhunter said
"Point taken which the option remains to vote. No on all candidates but i nominate icon for league memeberhsip"superman said displaying an image of a dark skinned man with domino over his ees as he wore a long sleeve red shirt with black pants and boots with a golden over his chest secured by four black straps while wearing a dark green cape
"Why? Because icon might be krptonian like you thought with captain marvel"green arrow teased
"You thought i was a krptonian"captain marvel asked as revenant laughed
"He did it was funny seeing his reaction afterwards"revaenant said but clark shot both of them a look before speaking
"Icon interest me and so does his protege rocket"superman said as on the screen appeared a seventeen year old girl compared to her mentor going for a more punkis look. As she had her hair cut short with an open cowl with no need to a mask as it meshed with a bodysuit perfectly while she wore coverall over it with the sleeves pushed up paired with knee pads and heavy duty boots and heavy gloves.
"Athena knows the league could use more female members"wonder women said
"Agree"dinah said
"Hear her"hawkwomen cheers with billy looking down at the row of men he was sitting with feeling awkward right now in this position.
As the meeting dragged on and on soon it came to the next one the atom as he was a little confused on why they would select him
"The atom? How useful can he be?"he asked
"Its the size that makes him the most useful. A well known researcher in his field he could be useful for bomb defusal and hostage situations"batman informed as that made sense
"Agreed"flash agree
'But we could use more raw power maybe the third green lantern guy gardner he could be of use to us"flash said but the other two where against it

"But we could really use the-"he tried to continued but they where adamant on the decision
"NO!"both shouted in unison as they got quiet for a moment as wincing was revenant

"Hes just really annoying and crude is all"hal replied
"Like a few of the others but what about blue devil he could be a useful player to our team with his skills and powers we could consider him as an option for the league"revenant suggested as the screen showed a large man with blue skin and giant ivory horns
"Hmmm i get what your implying but what about red arrow. Roy has the most experience and hes no kid hes a legal adult. I feel like hes ready"oliver said as he stood making captain marvel smile with a proud look but aquaman was unsure
"Is he? He has been uncooperative and disrespectful do we reward behavior like that? What message does that send to the rest of the team"arthur asked in a serious matter
"Okay i know but hes proven himself he may have his anger issues but ollie is right hes proven himself a qualified member. Hes worked hard to prove himself over the years besides we could use more non superpowered people on the team"dinah supported as he smiled at her for sticking up for him
"Shes right partner now i may be apart of the league at times helping you and what not. But still i think its nice to have more non supers on our side it helps with the image"viganlante said
"Agreed but what of the rest of the team their still too young"superman said as billy tugged on his collar hard on that topic
"Were are not including children in the league"clark continued
"That seems myopic. Both kid flash and aqualad are skilled both of them are ready"doctor fate agreed on the stance of letting them into the league
"What about zatanna"wonder asked with a curious tone angering the doctor it seems
"Absolutely not!"fate snaps at them sounding protective
"That sounded very protective doctor. At least we know zatara is still in their"diana said
"Wait a minute why is he even a member? I mean you forced zatara to give his life up to you….i've been in the cave and i've seen zatanna crying even because of it. Should that even be condoned here"billy argued as agreeing was charmcaster
"As much as i hate to agree he does have a point. You forced zatara hand by refusing to give up control"charmcaster added
"Zatara desired dr fate to remain with the league"nabu informed

"It is true. His trust in nabu is measured but he desired the league to be maintained close"nabu said as on the topic of the team speaking up was captain adam
"And what about the team some of them are old enough but one of them i don't trust still. Red-x we don't even know his true identity. Batman you've even struggled to find it"captain adam said as the dark knight eyed how does he know he hasn;t

"I mean i've been with her since she wanted to be a hero and shes just as skilled as me. Along with that she can nab badguys quick just like her old ancestor jonah hex"vignalante said
"But lately i've heard shes been searching for bane a dangerou criminal who broke your leg. That type of behavior won't stand in the league"superman warned
"Come on shes just mad and going through uh girl stuff"viganlante said
"Define girl stuff"dinah asked putting him on the spot as he felt a trap coming on
"Hey i know your setting me up but uh well….figuring out what a girl like her is strange"vingalnate replied but speaking on the topic of one other member on the team was oliver
"But what about that new kid we added shortly after the team started wraith. Kids built like a truck with all those powers since someone decided to give us more intel on how they work"oliver asked projecting an image of wraith on the screen
"You mean the multiple powers but the mere thought of well a mass murderer caught on the league spells trouble for us"Captain adam objected
"Shes just a kid no one even knows about that on the team i'm sure"revenant said with slight worry
"Really? Because while out meeting has been going on this happened at the cave"batman said before projecting a image on screen as it showed a recording of katherine threatening red-x as it startled them as placing hands together was diana
"It seems that your spying on people as we speak bruce"diana said
"I'm keeping them safe because it seems that red-x knows more than he lets on. "Batman warned
"It would appear so but it seems someone needs to talk to a certain women on threatening children"j'onn said
"Speaking of that what about your niece and nephew i mean hes not a hero but both could be useful"captain marvel said
"They are still young in mars years but their is a matter of you captain. Now that we know you are but a mere child ourself"manhunter pointed out as they eyed him for a moment
"He does appear to posses an adult body and the wisdom of solomon"Red tornado said
"Wisdim does not equal maturity"arthur agreed
"Hey i'm right here"Billy said
"Billy why don't you wait outside till we hashed things out"Dinah offered but batman spoke
"No. hes earned his right to be here as a member of the league until or unless hes voted out"batman said as billy was surprised
"Well its the face he lied about his age"dianh spoke up
"I didn't really lie. I left that part out"billy replied rubbing his neck with a smile
"Its still a lie but you left an important secret out no one lese on the league knew about the truth"wonder man said
"I know and so did revenant"batman said ratting the mexican hero out
"Come on bats i…i…your a jerk"Revenant said
"And how long did you plan to keep this from us?"wonder asked
"Hey i just wanted to help the kid out besides hes proven to be a real hero with whats he done. All of those kids are besides i aint the one who locked up a scared kid who got thrown into bella reve"revenant reminded
"It was a misculation on my part"Wonder women replied
"It still lead to a kid being treated like she was dirt and she almost died in their i'm sure countless times"revenant said in anger before he went back to his partner
"But your right about her….being a little untrustworthy i barely know her powers and i'm worried for the kids shes been acting strange lately"revenant said
"Strange how?"superman asked
"I don't know since they ran into the injustice league i've seen her scared about something since her mom told me she found out shes nightshade. Which might need to be redeemed sooner or later"revenant said as the meeting continued discussing new members as he worried for that girl he took under his wing
Mount justice november 25th
It was some time later as deliah was sitting in her room staring at the card that bloodhound left her as she was confused on what to do with it. She knew their was cameras somewhere in this room she knew the extract design of them since they where her dads design. But she was worried about what her family was or who her family was
She was raised by her mother always to do the right thing in life but was so confused on what to do with her life. As she was concerned about maybe contacting this guy to get some answer from him eventually on who her parents are and why their are holes in her head
As she sat their the door was heard knocking as she looked at it opening it as she quickly hide the card in her back pocket
Once the door was open she saw m'gann their
"M'gann i wasn't expecting you"deliah said
"Well i came to see if you wanted to join us for dinner you've been in this room all day now. I'm a little worried are you okay"m'gann asked as the teen thought for a moment sighing
"Sorry just concerned is all right now since…everything been pretty chaotic lately right now with stuff….so…right now i'm just processing my first thanksgiving without my family"deliah admitted as their was a pause as m'gann hugged her suddenly
"It'll be okay just come on down and have some dinner your ummm mom stopped by and dropped some sweets off actually she said their your favorite. But you might wanna hurry before leonid eats them all"m'gann said as the teen thought for a moment sighing as she followed her as the two of them joined the others as busy stuffing their face with a cinamon roll was leonid having his third helping
"Leonid stop eating all of them you greedy gluton!"jinny shouted as he kept trying to as groaning was red-x who ate through the slot under his mask as conner and zatana just watched the chaos unfold as deliah sighed happy to have a sort of family in the team here
Though far off from the mountain range staring at the cave was that strange jericho boy from before but much older looking like he was maybe in his twenties it seems but he stood up sighing for a moment pressing a finger to his ear
"Shes still here kath i'll keep an eye on her at all times just incase. "Jeircho said with a robotic sounding voice as he had some strange collar on his neck to speak it seems
"Good if they reveal to my daughter who i am to the others they will pay. I know that most of them know but i want her to be ready to tell them…for what person i am"katherine said as he disconnected the call overwatching the girl for her safety like a guardian even.
With that we close another chapter as katherine seems to know the mysterious stranger who is following her daughter. Though it seems someone is looking out for her like she was family as the team for deliah in a way is like a family. Thanks for reading!
