Part 24: Intervention of the Traveler
The battlefield was a scene of chaos and despair. Naruto, enveloped in the raging red aura of the Nine-Tails, stood like an unrelenting force of nature. His once blue eyes now gleamed a terrifying crimson, and the dark energy of his sword, Kuroame, pulsated in sync with his growing anger.
The Konoha 12, Kakashi, Guy, and Sasuke lay scattered, injured, and barely able to stand. Each had tried to reason with him, to hold their ground, but Naruto's overwhelming power had crushed all resistance.
Naruto's gaze locked on Sasuke, who was on his knees, clutching his chest from the earlier assault. The Uchiha glared back defiantly, his pride refusing to let him admit defeat.
"You thought you could take her from me and walk away?" Naruto growled, his voice layered with the Nine-Tails' snarl. "You thought there wouldn't be consequences?"
Raising Kuroame high, Naruto charged the blade with his dark chakra. The energy crackled like lightning, its power enough to obliterate everything in its path.
"Say goodbye, Sasuke."
Before Naruto could bring the blade down, a sudden burst of light illuminated the battlefield. The Traveler appeared, his cloak shimmering with unearthly energy.
"Enough," the Traveler said, his voice calm but commanding.
Naruto froze, his blade inches from Sasuke's head. The energy around him flickered uncertainly, as if the Traveler's presence alone disrupted the chaos.
"Stay out of this," Naruto growled, his red eyes narrowing.
The Traveler shook his head. "This is not your destiny, Naruto Uzumaki. You are a warrior, not a destroyer."
Naruto's grip on Kuroame tightened. "They deserve this. Every one of them betrayed me, treated me like I was nothing. Now they want to take everything from me again!"
The Traveler stepped closer, unphased by the oppressive chakra swirling around Naruto. "You are consumed by your past, and it blinds you. But if you cross this line, you will lose everything—yourself included."
Naruto hesitated. The Traveler's words struck a chord, but his anger and pain still burned fiercely.
From behind Naruto, Amara, who had been watching the confrontation in shock, finally stepped forward. "Naruto…" she called softly, her voice trembling.
He turned to her, his expression still fierce but conflicted.
"You're better than this," she said, her emerald eyes meeting his. "I know you are. Don't let them turn you into something you're not."
Naruto's hands trembled as he looked at her, then back at the Traveler, and finally at the battered Konoha 12 and his former teachers.
"They don't deserve mercy," he said, though his voice wavered.
"Perhaps not," the Traveler replied, "but mercy isn't about them—it's about you. Show them that you're stronger than their hate, their betrayal. Show them you're the Naruto Uzumaki who fights for what's right."
Naruto's aura began to fade, the red chakra receding into his body. The oppressive energy of Kuroame dulled as he lowered the blade.
"I'm not doing this for them," Naruto said coldly, glancing at the Traveler and then at Amara. "I'm doing it because I won't give them the satisfaction of dragging me down to their level."
The Traveler smiled faintly. "A wise choice."

A Warning
Naruto turned away from the Konoha 12, his back to them as he walked toward Amara.
Sasuke, still kneeling, glared at him. "This isn't over, Naruto. I'll bring you back, no matter what it takes."
Naruto glanced over his shoulder, his expression icy. "Try it again, and I won't stop next time."
The Traveler raised a hand, and with a flick of his wrist, an invisible barrier surrounded the Konoha 12 and the others, preventing them from pursuing Naruto and Amara.
"They need time to reflect," the Traveler said, watching Naruto and Amara walk away. "You, too, have much to learn, Naruto Uzumaki."
Naruto stopped but didn't turn around. "I don't need your advice."
The Traveler chuckled softly. "Perhaps not, but you'll need me soon enough. There are greater battles ahead—ones that will test you in ways you cannot imagine."
Before Naruto could respond, the Traveler vanished, leaving only a faint shimmer in the air.

Moving Forward
Naruto and Amara walked away from the battlefield in silence, the tension between them heavy.
"Are you okay?" Amara finally asked, her voice soft.
Naruto didn't answer right away. He sheathed Kuroame, the blade's dark energy dissipating.
"I will be," he said eventually, his voice quieter than before.
Amara reached out and touched his arm, stopping him. "Thank you… for not giving in."
Naruto looked at her, his expression softening. "I couldn't lose you, Amara. Not to them, not to anyone."
Amara smiled faintly, though her eyes were filled with worry. "Then let's figure this out together. Whatever's coming, we'll face it."
Naruto nodded, his resolve hardening. The Traveler's cryptic warning lingered in his mind, but for now, he had one goal: to protect Amara and ensure his past wouldn't dictate his future.
