A/N: Well, this chapter came faster then I thought, wish I could write like this for my other fanfic, but anyway, have a good reading.

Chapter 2: Battle at the Pyramids

"What is this?" Tsubaki shouted in surprise as she tried to cover her eyes from the strong light. After some seconds the light vanished. She lowered her arms to see the egg. "Hi little one."

The door of her bedroom was opened and Max and Rex entered it. "What happened?" Max said as he and Rex looked at Tsubaki who was holding a small bird like dinosaur in her hands, it was a bit smaller than her hand. Small dinosaur chirped as it nuzzled the girl.

"Hey, guys, I want you to meet Solar, the archaeopteryx" She said showing the small dinosaur to the others. They gasped at the sight, the small dinosaur had the body covered by small red feathers with purple details,except at her legs where there wasn't any feather, just her small claws. Her entire body emitted some kind of small light, similar to the one when she hatched, but very weaker.

"So the egg really was a dinosaur egg." Rex said as he started to pet Solar. "Welcome to the family, Solar." Solar nuzzled her small head against his fingers. "I think she liked me."

Chomp, who just appeared. "What is happening here? I thought it was time to sleep…" Chomp said just then, noticing Solar. "Another dinosaur?" He jumped near Tsubaki, scaring Solar. She tried to hide herself with her wing, before glowing and turning into a card.

"Chomp!" Tsubaki said, scolding him. "She must be scared of you." He looked down.

"I was just excited." He said in a low voice, trying to apologize.

"Ok, but next time try to not scare Solar." Tsubaki took her dino holder and swiped the card on it. Solar emerged from the card landing right in front of Chomp. She was still afraid, trying to hide herself with her wing. Tsubaki approached her. "Sorry for Chomp, he is just excited to have a new friend, but I can assure you, he won't hurt." Solar lowered her wing and stared at Chomp, who then proceeded to start licking the smaller dinosaur. Solar jumped, landing on Chomp's back. She then curled herself.

"Well, now they look like friends." Rex said, giggling a bit.

"Looks more like Solar is using Chomp as her bed." Max said. Tsubaki took Solar from Chomp's back.

"Now I think she needs to sleep, so good night." Tsubaki said as she lay down on her bed. The boys nodded and left the room.

(D-team and Alpha gang's dinosaurs charges at each other as Solar flies right to the screen)

On the D-lab the next morning, the kids and Spike were standing in front of a computer. Tsubaki rubbed her eyes. "What are we doing here so early?" She said.

"Well, wanted to speak with you about something he found." Spike said as he placed his phone on a spot near the computer, as he did it the computer screen showed a man around 40, with blonde hair and wearing a brown vest, pants and hat, who was standing in a digging site. "Hello, Sodateru. Dug up anything new?

"As I said before, I have some news regarding those dinosaur cards you told me about."

"What do you mean, dad?" Tsubaki asked

"More dinosaur cards have been found." said.

"What?!" The five said in unison.

"I am calling from a dinosaur excavation site in Alberta, Canada. While we came across some fossils and some strange artifacts on our dig, we also discovered two more dinosaur cards." He explained. "Well, I sent the cards to your lab yesterday, so they will be there until night."

"But what were the dinosaurs in the cards?" Zoe asked. Sodateru pressed a button he was holding. The image of four cards appeared on the screen, two grays and two oranges.

"These are the cards I sent you. As you can see it is two dinosaur cards: a parasaurolophus and a carnotaurus; and we have these other two orange cards." pressed the button again and the image changed to the back of the cards. Rex and Zoe gasped at the sight.

"They match our stone symbols. Rex said.

"As I was saying, I hope you can make a deeper analysis on those cards." continued. Chomp, approached them and started chewing on Max's pants.

"It will be a pleasure." Spike said. Max tried to remove Chomp from his pants, the dinosaur jumped on Max's face and started licking him. Max started chuckling loudly.

"Again I need to thank you for taking care of Rex and Tsubaki" Sodateru said then changed his gaze toward Tsubaki and Rex. "And you two, you are very lucky to stay with Spike. You can learn a lot from him, so pay close attention and work hard."

"We will." The two said in unison.

"I need to go back to the dig, as I said the cards are on their way, they will reach you by evening. Call if you need anything ." said.

"Thanks." Spike said, turning off the screen.

Rex turned to Zoe, a smile on their faces. "Those cards match the marks on our stones. Do you know what that means?" He said excited.

"Yeah, you and I can have our own dinosaurs!" She said.

"Awesome!" He said.

Zoe put her hands together. "I hope the parasaur is as cute as the ones in the movies."

"What about me?" interrupted the two. "If anyone should have a dinosaur it's me!" He started crying then took the four dino holders on the table. "I need one of these." He then started doing many strange things with the dino holders trying to make them work with him.

"That is not how it works, dad." Max, who now was standing with Chomp biting on his hair, explained with blank eyes.

Reese, who was watching the entire scene, walked to the table and put four thick manuals on it. "The stones have chosen Max because they touched them first. try to get a hold of yourself." She explained emotionlessly.

"I know, I will." Spike apologized.

"What are those things?" Tsubaki asked as Solar lay down in her pocket.

"Dino holder manuals." Reese explained.

"Do we really need a manual?" Max asked

"Yes." She started raising Spike's arm with the dino holder. "They are designed to not just swipe your cards, they have a carrier that holds the stones and extra cards as well." She threw a manual to each. "It was a lot of work making them, so read the manual thoroughly."

"They are enormous, it will take a year" Zoe protested.

"And the problem is?" Reese answered.

"Maybe you and dad could just show how to use them." Max tried to convince her.

"You can like to spend your whole life studying, but some of us like to do fun stuff too. Maybe you should try it some time." Zoe said sharply.

Reese sighed and let go of Spike. He fell to the ground moaning in pain. Reese walked away. "I will go back to my analysis on the data of the stones." She said.

"Wait a minute. How did my dad know about the stones?" She asked, raising her eyebrow, which Solar got up trying to mimic. "Wasn't the card supposed to be a secret from the world? Or are you gonna tell every dinosaur expert in the world about it?" As she finished saying, Solar let out a low growl.

"Relax, is the only other person that knows beside us." Spike got up. "He is my colleague after all. Besides, it will be helpful in studying this case."

"And don't forget about the others that know about it" Rex remembered them.

"Who?" Spike asked.

"Remember, that Alpha gang knows about it too." Tsubaki remembered it.

"Yeah, they appeared out of nowhere with that tyrannosaurus and attacked Chomp." Max said as he looked at Chomp.

"Do you think they know how I ended up here?" Chomp asked.

"I think it's very possible." Max said

"Even Though they seemed like goofs, they had a tyrannosaurus and were searching for you." Tsubaki explained as she brought her hand to her chin. "Maybe they were the ones that made you end up here, maybe they are just goofs, but we can't deny the possibility of them being a real threat to us." Everybody looked at her.

"We will need to check that theory of yours when they appear again." Rex said, staring at each one.

On a room at the Alpha gang island, all the members, except Helga, watched while Dr.Z was doing some experiments. "Unacceptable! How did those kids get their hands on my cards? And why did you fail to get them back?!" Dr.Z complained as he pressed some buttons on a panel.

"Grampa, I think the energy level is too high." Laura, who was at the doctor's right said. The doctor gasped as he turned to her.

"She is right. And with the way we place this equipment it could blow up at any minute." Rod said.

"That is not the only thing." Ed comented.

"Do you think this is a joke?" Dr.Z started jumping and screaming at Ed. "Your fool! Dangerous experiments are my trade mark!" Seth walked away. "And when this is completed we will show those kids who is the one that deserves those cards!"

"Okay, grandpa, I got some homework to do." Laura explained as she and Rod walked away.

"Yeah, me too." Rod said.

The equipment started to produce some strange noise scaring Ursula, Ed and Zander. "Well I… heard someone calling us." Ursula said. The three tried to walk away.

"Stop right there. You three won't go anywhere!" Dr.Z said, his eyes fixed on his experiment. "You will stay until my invention is completed." The three sighed. "which should be any minute now."

The equipment shone stronger. It exploded, dust and ashes covered the four. Helga walked in the room, which now was a complete mess.

"Dr.Z, I want this mess cleaned until dinner time or there won't be dinner time." She threatened. Dr.Z sighed.

In Egypt, near the pyramids a sandstorm uncovered an egg-like capsule and opened it, revealing one card and one stone with a water symbol on it. The strong winds carried the card until inside a tourist bus.

Already in a city, the card flew from the bus until it landed near a table where a couple were eating. One of the people dropped his drink over the card, it glowed in a blue light. The light expanded and faded leaving a full growth gray spinosaurid with a purple fetails on its sail. The newly appeared dinosaur roared and people started to run from it.

Meanwhile at Alpha gang island, Dr.Z, Ed, Ursula and Zander were reluctantly eating, while Terry was eating his food happily. Dr.Z gave a quick look at Helga, who was behind him. The alpha scanner beeped. "Another dinosaur card!" Dr.Z exclaimed, taking the scanner.

"Dr.Z, no toys at the dinner table." Helga said, bringing her hands to her hip.

"I know it, but I can't eat at a time like this, when one of my missing cards has just been located." He said without taking his eyes off the scanner. "Ursula, Zander and Ed, we are off on a capture mission." He got up followed by the three.

"Yes, sir" They responded with a nod.

"No, you are not." Helga protested. "you are not going anywhere until I see every plate clean!"

"Right." Dr.Z answered.

"And don't think you are fooling anyone, I can see you hiding your peas under your plate." Helga said. The doctor gasped.

Dr.Z ran away trying to distract Helga. "Go and take Terry with you." He shouted trying to escape from Helga who followed him through the hallways.

Terry finished his food as when he was taken by Ursula. "What is happening?" The tyrannosaur said as he was carried away.

"Another card was found." Zander said as the three ran to the hangar.

"In Egypt." Ed complemented.

"Here we go." Terry said, sitting on top of Ursula's head.

At Taylor's house, they were eating dinner. " , do you have any idea of when the cards are getting here?" Rex asked.

"Well, your father said the cards would be here today so they can get here at any moment." He answered. Aki, despite eating, gave a small glare toward the two.

"Man, I can hardly wait! I might get a partner of my own soon." Rex said excited.

"What do you mean by partner?" Aki asked, giving a death glare directed at Spike. He gasped.

"Yeah, right, Rex is thinking about getting a dog too, just like Chomp." He tried to explain. Aki stared at him for a moment. "Isn't it Rex?

"Yeah, well, maybe." Rex said, giving her an awkward smile.

"Then we will have two… dogs and a bird." She stopped for a moment. "Just remember who is going to take care of them." She smiled at them. The kids and Spike sighed in relief.

"I know it." Rex answered.

"Max, I don't believe it! You ate all your green peppers and carrots." Aki said surprised.

"Yeah, you made them extra special this time that I'm gonna have even more." Max said getting out of the table to get more.

Chomp followed him. "What a liar. I eat them and you take credit." the triceratops complained.

Max lowered himself. "Do you prefer not getting them?" He asked. Chomp stopped for a minute.

"Ok, you won, just get me more." He said. Max blinked at his partner.

Tsubaki's phone rang. She took it out. "Tsubaki, no phones at the dinner table" Aki said.

"It is Zoe, just one second." TSubaki said, walking away a bit before accepting the 's image appeared on the phone, a worried look on her face. "What is up, Zoe?"

"Go turn on the news, hurry up." She ordered the Tsubaki. She turned the TV on. The image showed the spinosaurid causing chaos near the pyramids as people screamed and ran from the dinosaur.

Spike ran to the TV, amazed. "Another dinosaur!" He exclaimed. "And this time it's a spinosaurus!"

The image on the TV changed to a news anchor. "We just received this footage from the pyramids of Giza where a real dinosaur appeared earlier today."

"Egypt?!" Rex said. Suddenly the dino holders started beeping, a map appeared on it alongside a red dot in the middle of it.

"What is this light?" The three kids said in unison.

"I need to get Solar." Tsubaki said, running upstairs.

At the D-lab, Reese was on the computer, with Zoe on her side, when Max, Rex, Tsubaki and Spike entered. "A dinosaur appeared in Egypt." Resse said.

"We know that. Is there anything in the manual about the dino holder lighting up like this?" Max Asked, approaching her.

"You didn't read, did you?" She said.

"I did the whole thing." Rex said. Max and Tsubaki turned to him.

"How? you must have skipped it right to the end." Tsubaki said

"No, I didn't." Rex answered. Meanwhile Zoe took her manual and started passing through the pages quickly.

"I know how. Most of the pages are totally blank." Zoe said. "What is the deal Reese?"

"There is so much about the cards and the stones that we don't know yet, so I decided to leave some space for anything new we discover to be annotated on your manuals." Reese explained.

"So much time on your hands?" Zoe said.

The computer screen changed into a world map. "Interesting, the dino holders seem to be in sync with the map." Reese said.

"Look, Egypt is glowing." Rex pointed out.

"That is where the spinosaurus showed up." Tsubaki said.

"So, it must be telling us where the dinosaur showed up." Max said.

"But there is nothing we can do from here." Spike stated. "And I already tried to book a flight there and there is none until tomorrow morning.

Reese inspected the map one more time, noticing some strange lines appearing on it. "Wait, this is peculiar." She said. "These lines are connecting the dinosaur to the stones. Wait, it can't be…" She started typing something.

Meanwhile in Egypt, the Alpha gang was flying over the pyramids on their flying vehicle, Ed and Zander piloting while Ursula was behind them with Terry on her lap. "If I were a dinosaur where would I be?" Ed asked himself.

"There you are." Zander said sighting the spinosaurus.

"Terry, prepare to jump." Ursula ordered as she put a small parachute on him.

"Recruit Terry ready to fly." Terry answered, jumping from the aerial vehicle. He opened the parachute midair.

When Terry was about to land, Ursula took her alpha scanner and pressed a button on it. Terry glowed in red before turning into his full growth form. Both the dinosaurs roared at each other before charging.

Back at the D-lab, the four kids stood on a platform while was putting many bags on it.

"You can really teleport us to where the dinosaur is?" Tsubaki asked, Solar on her shoulder.

"I believe the dinosaur search function and transport function will work together. Now we just need a test run." Reese said, doing the last adjustments on the platform.

"Isn't that dangerous?" Zoe asked.

"You will be fine, probably. In the worst case I get a new room to do my experiments at home." She said, earning a look from the four kids and Chomp. "Just click the button and you will be teleported to wherever the dinosaur is."

interrupted them from pressing the button on their dino holders. "You can't go without me. I am a professional paleontologist." He said. Max and the others nodded. "Yepi." He crouched down on the platform. The kids pressed the buttons and a strong light covered the platform. Max, Tsubakia and their partners were the only ones to disappear.

"Note to myself: just those with the stones and a card can be teleported" Reese stated as she wrote it down on one of the manuals.

Spike started crying. "But I really wanted to go!" He complained

The two kids and their dinosaurs appeared near the pyramids. A roar was heard, they turned to their side. "The tyrannosaurus is here too?!" Max said

The spinosaurus was panting, Terry headbutted his head throwing him in the air. As the spinosaurus landed on the ground he glowed blue and turned into a card.

"I got it." Tsubaki said, moving her hand trying to take the card. Her hand was just some inches away when a mechanical hand came down from the sky and took it. "What is that?"

"Mission accomplished." Zander stated as the mechanical hand returned to the flying vehicle.

"But now is time for some big fat revenge!" Ursula said. "Go, Terry, End with them"

"Don't need to repeat." Terry answered charging at the kids.

"Ready for round 2, Chomp?" Max asked, preparing his dino holder.

Chomp nodded. "Always, buddy." He said. Max pressed a button and Chomp turned into a card on Max's hands. "Dino slash! Roar triceratops." He shouted as he swiped the card. Chomp emerged in his full growth form. "Now we got it! Go for It Chomp."

Chomp and Terry charged at each other. They locked heads fighting for space. Terry started winning and Chomp let go of it, backing up a bit.

"I thought triceratops were stronger." Terry said, teasing Chomp. The triceratops charged again, this time Terry stepped aside, dodging his attack and then bit on Chomp's neck. Terry threw Chomp away. The triceratops landed on his side, Terry then charged pushing Chomp with his head until hit the sphinx side. Chomp roared in pain. Terry started headbutting Chomp's belly multiple times.

Max's dino holder started glowing red. "Max, the move card." Tsubaki remembered him. Max nodded and pressed a button on his dino holder then the move card emerged from the device.

"Watch out, the brat is going to use the move card." Zander warned, Ursula blinked.

"Remember what happened last time he used it, we got beaten." Ed said.

"Oh, I am so upset." She said pretending to be afraid. "No, I have a card too." She swiped the spinosaurus card on her alpha scanner.

"Ursula, no"

"You can't do that here." Ed and Zander protested, but it was too late. a blue light formed inside the airship, breaking it. The Spinosaurus emerged in the air and fell right in front of Max and Tsubaki, making the boy drop the move card.

"Oh no my move card." Max complained. Both kids stepped back as the spinosaurus roared. They looked at the spinosaurus then at Chomp, who was still being headbutted.

Solar tried to hide in Tsubaki's hair. "We lost and now we will be eaten." The girl said. Two lights appeared, one at each side of the kids. When the lights faded Rex and Zoe stood there. "Brother, Zoe?!"

They nodded at her and then turned to the spinosaurus. "Are you ready Zoe?" Rex asked, drawing his dino holder and a card.

"Let 's go!" Zoe answered, doing the same.

"Dino slash! You can do it, carnotaurus." Rex said, swiping the card.

"Dino slash! Blossom, parasaurolophus!" Zoe said, swiping the card. A bluish carnotaurus and a green parasaurolophus appeared in front of them.

The spinosaurus stepped back, fearing the new dinosaurs. The carnotaurus and the parasaur charged together at him, throwing the spinosaurus away.

Max took the move card and ran to Chomp. "Chomp."

Terry changed his attention from Chomp to the other dinosaurs. "What is that?" Terry asked.

The carnotaurus charged at him and heafbutt him. Terry stepped back because of the hit and turned away trying to flee. The carnotaurus chased him.

Max got near to Chomp. "Are you okay, buddy?" He asked. Chomp tried to get up but fell to the ground returning to a card. Tsubaki and Zoe reached Max. Max turned to Zoe. "Can you and Rex take care of it?"

Zoe took out a move card from her dino holder. "We have some cards on the sleeves too." She said

The spinosaurus got up. "I can… I can still fight." It said before roaring at the parasaur.

"Green tackle!" Zoe shouted as she swiped the card. A green circle glowed around the parasaur. Vines emerged from the ground around the spinosaurus and started to wrap around it. The spinosaurus struggled, trying to let go of the vines. The parasaur charged at it, headbutting the spinosaurus belly. As the dinosaurs collided, the vines let go of the spinosaurus, sending it flying. It landed hard on the ground. The spinosaurus tried to move but failed. it glowed blue before returning to a card. "That was great." She patted the parasaur leg.

A mechanical hand took the spinosaurus card.

The parasaur nuzzled her in return. "Thanks."

Terry bit the carnotaurus's neck and threw it to the ground. Terry tried to step on it but the carnotaurus got up before that, leaving the tyrannosaururs's way. The carnotarus bit Terry's neck. The tyrannosaurus swung it, throwing the carnotaurus away.

Tsubaki ran to her brother. "Will you finish this or will you wait until your dinosaur loses?" She asked sarcastically.

"Okay, fine." Rex replied. He took out a move card from his dino holder. "Cyclone." He swiped the card. A light blue circle appeared around the carnotaurus. An air pillar descended around the carnotaurus involving it. The carnotaurus charged at Terry. It bit Terry's tail and spun in place before throwing the tyrannosaur at the pyramid. Terry returned to a card.

"I take it."

Tsubaki tried to take the card, a mechanical hand took it first. "My Terry may have lost, but he is my loser." Ursula said, pulling the card to her hand with the mechanical hand. She, Zander and Ed were on a camel.

"The Alpha gang." Tsubaki said, Solar on her shoulder bared her teeth at them. "What are you doing here?"

"That is not of your business." Zander replied sharply. heavy footsteps were heard, the Alpha gang turned up to see the two dinosaurs standing right behind the kids.

"I think it is time to go." Ed said, worried, as the camel bolted.

"They are really weird." The parasaur commented.

"Well, at least we are not with them." The carnotaurus complemented.

Max swiped Chomp's card again making him appear on his chibi form. "I am so happy you are okay now." Chomp licked Max's face.

"Me too, Max."

"And then won't you two introduce us to the two new dinosaurs?" Tsubaki asked. Rex and Zoe nodded. Max and Chomp's attention turned to them

Rex returned the carnotaurus to a card and swiped it on his dino holder. A chibi carnotaurus appeared in front of him. "Well, this is Ace, my first dinosaur." Rex said, pointing at the chibi carnotaurus.

"Nice to meet you all." Ace said. Chomp and Ace exchanged glares for a moment. "And you are?"

"Chomp." He answered. "Do you want to play?" Ace nodded. He and Chomp started chasing each other.

"Cute and all but it's time for you to meet…" Zoe said as she returned the parasaur to a card and swiped it. The parasaur emerged in a chibi form. "Paris!" The chibi parasaur hid behind herself behind Zoe. She turned to Paris. "What is the problem?"

"What if they don't like me?" Paris asked, trying to hide her head in the sand.

Zoe crouched and petted her. "Why would they? You defeated that spinosaurus." Zoe said. Paris looked back at her then went to play with Chomp and Ace. Zoe looked proudly as Paris played with the others.

"Wanna go too, Solar?" Tsubaki asked. Solar glided from Tsubaki's shoulders and played with the others. The four kids smiled seeing their dinosaurs being such good friends.

Max looked around and spotted something. He ran to it, the others were surprised by his sudden action. They reached him. "Look at this." Max said, showing them a stone with the water symbol. They all gasped.

"Another stone?!" Tsubaki asked.

A Blue glow covered Max. "Why is this happening again?" He asked. The glow faded.

"Maybe it's the way the stones bond." Rex explained.

"Wait, so now Max has two stones? How many more are there?" Zoe asked.

"Maybe Reese can have an answer." Max said.

"Wait, how do we go back home?" Tsubaki asked.

"Just put the dino holder on reverse mode and it teleports us back to where we came from." Zoe explained.

Back at the D- Lab, the D-team and their dinosaurs were resting after the fight, Rex and Max playing jokenpo, Ace and Chomp chasing each other and Zoe was with Paris and Solar while Tsubaki was watching Reese working.

"So, any news about the stones?" Tsubaki asked.

"Well, according to my estimates the stones are just parts of a bigger stone tablet, and with the 5 stones we already have, there are just 2 missing." Reese explained, showing a diagram with the original form of the stones.

"We just need to make sure we get those stones before the Alpha gang." Tsubaki stated.

At the Alpha gang island, Dr.Z was with his face on a big tube, with many patches. A fire move card floating on it.

"Finally, my new move card is completed. Now I just need to redo all my other move cards and my ultimate goal, my dinosaur kingdom, will finally be completed." He exclaimed in excitement. He started laughing.

"Should we interrupt him?" The spinosaurus, now in his chibi form asked as he, Terry, Ursula, Zander and Ed watched the doctor from the hallway.

"We will tell him about you later." Ursula said as she started to walk away. The others followed her "But, for now, welcome to the Alpha gang, Spiny."
