3 weeks later..
Amity sat at her desk writing away in her diary. Dear diary, it has been quite some time since we 1st set off on this journey to Barbados. I doubt I will ever get used to life at sea. The first few days I felt quite ill. The captain had brought me a bucket if I felt like retching. Hunter has informed me it doesn't take long for one to get their sea legs. It
took me a week before I could walk around the ship with no problem. The voyage has been quite dull. I either stay in my cabin and read or take a stroll around the ship with Prince Hunter. He has told me so much about the sea. I can't wait to see what the Caribbean has in store for me. Amity closed her diary as she received a knock on her cabin door. It was a sailor. "The captain requested that you join him and his officers for dinner." He said as Amity nodded as she got up and made her way to the captain's quarters.
Opening it she found captain Darius with his lieutenants as they sat at a magnificently carved table. "Welcome Lady Blight to my quarters." Captain Darius exclaimed as she bowed and sat at the empty seat next to Hunter. "Captain Darius, I thought it was against Royal Navy Protocol for a captain to dine with his officers?' Amity asked as Darius
looked at her and smiled. "Ah, quite a smart one. You are indeed your fathers child. Yes it is code though I find this ship runs more smoothly if I dine with the men from time to time. As a way to boost morale and our coordination." Darius said as he took a sip of wine. "Ah I see and may I ask the captain what would be for dinner?" Amity said as
the hunter poured her some wine." We are having Roast Chicken." Darius said as the cook brought forward 2 perfectly roasted chickens. They all soon began to dig in though with civility."I Hope this voyage has not been too troublesome for you Lady Blight." Darius asked as he ate some chicken. "It has taken some getting used to." Amity exclaimed as she ate some of her meal."Well have no fear, we're already halfway through our journey and soon you and your soon to be fiance will be in Barbados." Darius said as he covered his mouth realizing what he said. "What do you mean by Fiancee?" Amity asked as Hunter looked at her.
"It appears we are to be wed. It was arranged by my Uncle and your parents. You were not to be told until we made land. I have been given a post in Barbados for the foreseeable future." Hunter responded, sipping his wine cautiously."Well that is wonderful." Amity said, trying to hide her disappointment. After about 20 minutes the feast was done and all went their separate ways with Amity looking out at the sea trying to contemplate what she had heard. Soon Hunter joined her. "Look I know this is sudden but let's make the most of it." He said trying to win her over. "Of course it is an honor to be wed to the royal family is it not." Amity replied well aware there was no way out. "It is and I promise you I will be good to you till the end of time." Hunter stated. "May I ask you a question?" Amity said.
"Why of course dear." "Why did you pick the navy?" Amity asked. "I knew as the crown Prince I would one day be stuck to the throne of England so I wanted to see the world before that day. I felt that seeing how the world really runs would give me the tools necessary to be a great king." Hunter said as the two looked at the endless sea before them."Really?" Amity asked"Yes and I know in due time the two of us will form an unbreakable bond if you give me a chance." Hunter said. Amity felt a calming presence before her like what lay ahead of her was a bright future. The two began to walk back to their quarters when a sailor on look out bumped into them. "Sorry sir, just on my way to relive the crows nest. Cant keep our guard down as we enter her waters." He said leaving Amity puzzled."Whose waters are we entering?" She asked.
"Were entering the waters of the dreaded Captain Clawthorne the most vile pirate of the high seas." The sailor replied with a real amount of dread in his voice. "Tell me more about this pirate." Amity asked." Captain Clawthorne is a vile woman who has been raiding these routes for 10 years. She was like you once. A woman of High society. Then she went mad and killed her husband, taking his wealth and building her name as the most feared pirate in the land." He said "clutching a cross with each word." Sailor enough of this. You have little to fear if you do your duty now to relieve the crows nest at once." Hunter exclaimed as the sailor quickly went to relieve the crow's nest. "Now my dear let me return you to your cabin." Hunter exclaimed as he walked Amity back to her cabin for the night.
1 Week Later….
Amity was quietly sleeping when she was awoken by Willow. "What is it Willow?" Amity asked quite groggy from being suddenly awoken. "Lady Blight I mean Amity I heard a Boom." Willow said as an audible boom could be heard in the distance. "Willow, it's probably thunder now, go back to sleep." Amity said as a cannonball shot its way through the wall causing both women to hit the floor."Amity I don't think that's thunder." Willow said as the 2 ran to the deck to see what was happening. The deck was busy as sailors grabbed swords and guns as Amity looked to Captain Darius for answers. "Captain what's happening?" Amity asked. Darius looked at the 2 women before him. "It's Pirates Lady Blight have no fear we shall drive them off." Captain Darius said as the Barrelman shouted."My god it's Captain Clawthorne and the Grey Owl." Before a volley of chainshot made quick work of the main mast sending it and the Barrelman hurdling into the sea.
The Hms Titan was Losing speed as the captain ordered a hard turn to cross the t bringing the full brunt of the Titans broadside on the Grey Owl but Captain Clawthorne had brought her broadside to bear and unleashed a volley of 20 9 lb cannons wrecking havoc on Hms Titan. "Lady Blight you and your maid Barricade yourself in my Quarters at once." Darius said as Hunter led them To the Captains quarters instructing a sailor to keep watch in the event of a boarding. Amity and Willow hunkered down in the captain's room as the 2 ships sent volley and volley of cannonballs at one another. Soon the guns fell silent as the sound of boarding hooks latching on to the ship could be heard and the clashing of swords. Meanwhile on deck Hunter and the crew were fighting doggedly against the invaders. He parried his foe before a slash to his chest sent him down.. Captain Darius was headlocked in a fight of his own. As Hunter went to aid the Captain he felt a blow to the back of his head as it went to black.
It soon became clear that the tide was in the favor of the pirates as they began to overwhelm the crew. In the Captain quarters Amity and Willow could hear footsteps approaching and a single gunshot rang as the sailor guarding the door dropped dead, his blood seeping through the cracks. The two held each other as the pirate on the other side began to break through the door. Each hit weakened the door until it was forced open. Though to the shock of the 2 it was not a burly man before them but a woman. She had to be around their own age. She had a blue bandana covering messy brown hair. Her skin was mocha colored. She wore a tattered tan shirt with beat up blue pants and worn out brown boots. Her brown eyes caught a glimpse of Amity and putting her sword back in its sheath she said"Hola hermosa."
