DM Lucy Goes Ice Cream Crazy Chapter 2
After their game of tag, Margo, Edith and Agnes told Jessica each of their backstories about when they were orphans at Miss Hattie's Home For Girls while they had ice cream sundaes together as a treat. Gru was too grumpy to want to ice cream, But Lucy was especially delighted as she hadn't had ice cream for a long time. "I'm glad that I wasn't an orphan" said Jessica. ''Yeah it was pretty tough'' Margo admitted, ''Edith, Agnes and I each came from different families, then when we were adopted by Gru and had a new family with him and then Lucy when she came along to be a mom to us when she married Dad, we became sisters''.
"Well, I'm glad to be born as a biological daughter to my mom" said Jessica.
''Would you girls like pizza for tea?'' Lucy asked them. "Yes please, Lucy!" said Jessica. "Yes please, Mom!" said Margo, Edith and Agnes. Lucy asked each of the girls what pizza they wanted. Then she noted it down and went to make the order from Pizza Heaven. The grownups had been having a drink while the girls had been playing tag. As Lucy was tidying the tea things up, she passed by the freezer. Lucy opened it. Inside was the biggest stash of ice cream she had ever seen! Lucy loved ice cream. It had been one of her favourite foods since she was a little girl and hadn't had it in ages. Lucy's eyes went wide and her mouth drooled. Without thinking of anything else, Lucy pulled out the stash, grabbed a spoon, opened a tub and started stuffing her face.
She completely forget about the ice cubes and everyone's drinks. Lucy chomped her way through each tub of ice cream like mad, when she finished each one, she dropped it on the floor and opened another one. The empty ice cream tubs began to pile up next to her feet.''Oh yummy!'' laughed Lucy crazily, ''Ice cream! Wonderful ice cream!''. Gru was passing by. ''Honey? Are you all right in there?'' he called. ''I'm fine'' Gru'' Lucy called back with a mouthful of ice cream. Gru came into the kitchen to see Lucy gobbling up loads of ice cream and the huge pile of empty ice cream tubs by her feet.
He was so shocked by the sight of it he forget to be grumpy. "AHHH! LUCY!?" he gasped. "Hi, honey, you seriously gotta try these!'' said Lucy, with her mouth still full, ''I loved ice cream since I was a little girl!". When she came back outside, Lucy felt a little strange.
''Oh my head is spinning!'' she gasped. ''Have a drink'' said Jillian who was oblivious to what Lucy had done, ''Then you'll feel better''. ''Thanks'' said Lucy, gulping down a cup of tea. But then she collapsed onto her back and passed out from the funny feeling in her head. "MOM!" wailed Margo running over to Lucy and crouching down beside her. About 5 minutes later, Lucy woke up. ''Oh! I've got a stomach ache!'' she groaned, clutching her stomach with one hand. It was true. Lucy had eaten too much ice cream and now she was sick. ''You wouldn't have a stomach ache if you hadn't eaten so much at once'' Gru told her, ''You need to control yourself better honey''. ''I guess you're right'' Lucy groaned painfully, ''Ow!''. Dru came to see what the matter was. ''What's wrong brother?'' he asked. "Lucy's sick!" said Gru.
He decided to take Lucy upstairs to rest and look after her until she was better. But first Gru decided to dispose of the pile of empty ice cream tubs . He went back into her kitchen and used his Shrink Ray to make the tubs much smaller, then he chucked them into the recycling bin. Afterwards, Gru came back outside to Lucy and picked her up gently.''Come on Lucy'' he said, ''I'll take you home to rest where you'll be more comfortable in bed than outside here on de grass''. Lucy just nodded agreeably as Gru carried her inside. While Gru and Lucy were gone, Margo, Edith, Agnes and Jessica played soccer while they waited for their pizzas. ''I hope your mom feels better soon'' Jessica told the three sisters.
''Thanks Jessica'' said Margo quietly, she still felt worried about her mom and wanted to cheer Lucy up. Meanwhile, Gru helped Lucy to change out of her dress and into her blue pyjamas which she wore for sleeping in. Lucy got into bed and Gru tucked her up, warm and cosy. Gru went to get a hot water bottle and filled it up and brought it back for Lucy. ''Here you go honey'' he said, ''Rest your head on this, I think you have a bit of brain freeze too, that's why your head was spinning''. ''Thanks Gru'' said Lucy, gratefully. Gru pulled out the thermometer and stuck it in her mouth. ''Keep that in'' he said, ''In case you have a temperature''. On the way downstairs again, Gru told the minions that Lucy was sick and asked them to keep an eye on her while he was out.
At that moment the girls were eating stuffed crust pizza together. Margo was still thinking about Lucy. ''Your mom's in good hands Margo'' said Dru when he saw the worried look on her face, ''You dad will take good care of her''.
''But I want to help her get better too'' Margo sighed. In the midst of their conversation, Lucy was still in bed with the hot water bottle under her head and the thermometer in her mouth. She tossed and turned trying to find a comfortable spot, but it was hard with her sore stomach. "Urrrghhh!" she groaned. The minions stroked her back and sang her lullabies. Lucy managed a brave smile as she lay back down again. Gru came back and checked the thermometer having removed it from Lucy's mouth before he gave her the medicine.
