Hello everyone.
I decide to do a Rio Thanksgiving Story
A special shout-out to Alexriolover95, Nightfly, and Tomada Junior for being in my story.
Yesterday morning.
It was cold day in Moose Lake, Minnesota. The sun was not being shown. The clouds were all gray and heavy. At the airport just coming out from the entrance to one of the terminals was a friendly red haired young woman pushing a cart with luggage and a lot of cages housing some birds in them.
"Isn't this nice to be home again Blu?" Banjo said to his brother.
"Yeah, home sweet home." Blu happily replied back. He wrap his wings around his mate Jewel to keep her warm.
Some newcomers to the new land were feelings very uncomfortable. They never been to a cold land before.
"Uncle Blu, how did you and Banjo live in Minnesota which is so cold?" Bobbie asked them.
"Well me and my brother lived in Minnesota but we were inside a house which was warm." Blu answered.
Blu, Jewel, Banjo, Grace, Alex, and Lily along with Cadence, Eddie, Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, Nightfly, Sorrel, Tomada, Tomada Junior, Bobbie, Lisa, Nate, Clive, Mary, and Bridget all flew from the Amazon to Rio to go with Linda, Tulio, and Fernando to spend Thanksgiving together with Linda's family and friends there in Linda's hometown and where Blu and Banjo lived for most of their first 15 years in life.
The families wished they could have brought more friends and family with them to spend Thanksgiving.
Alex would love to bring his sister Liz and mother with him as well. He wanted his new brother-in-law Roberto, his sister Liz's mate, their sweet Rosalia, his cousin Holly, and his new cousin-in-law Garth but he is happy that his little sister came.
Blu and Jewel would love to bring Eduardo and Mimi to Moose Lake. Jewel wanted her father and aunt to be there and see how humans lived.
Banjo and Grace would have loved to bring Peter, Susan, and Jenny to Moose Lake. Grace wanted to show her parents and her aunt about Thanksgiving and how humans celebrate that holiday.
Lily wanted to bring her father Leo. Leo is willing to let his precious daughter spend time with her family.
The younger birds decided to bring their sweethearts for the trip.
Linda, Tulio, and Fernando got on a text and managed to fit everything inside. They were on their way to the old bookstore which was being looked by Linda's mother named Leslie.
They arrived at the bookstore called Blue Macaw Books. Linda smiled as she saw her parents walk out to greet their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Linda, Tulio, and Fernando got out of the taxi and paid the driver, thinking him for the ride. Linda, Tulio, and Fernando got everything out of the taxi and when that was done. The mother, father, and daughter finally hug each other.
"Hi mom, hi dad. So good to see you guys again." Linda hugs her mother and father.
"Great to see you too Linda." Leslie and Manny hugs their daughter. They look at Tulio and Fernando. "Hello our son-in-law and grandson." They hugs them both and the both males hugs them back.
"So good to see you again." Tulio hugs his parents-in-law back.
"Happy to see you grandma and grandpa." Fernando said as he hug his grandmother.
"I brought friends of Blu's and Banjo's." Linda said.
"Hello." Leslie greeted.
"Hi birds." Manny said.
The birds squawk hello. Linda opens the cage and let the birds go. Lily is happy to get out of the cage. Since she hate being in cages.
"No need to worry about being in cages." Lily said.
"I know honey but you are out of the cage." Alex said.
"Minnesota." Nightfly said.
"I like Minnesota already." Tomada Junior said.
The birds relax and watch some TV. It was night time. Everyone is sleeping. The next morning is Thanksgiving.
"Happy Thanksgiving Everyone." Blu, Banjo, and Linda said.
"Happy Thanksgiving guys." Tulio and Fernando said.
"We love Thanksgiving." Jewel said.
"Back in Minnesota, me and Banjo celebrate Thanksgiving with Linda in 15 years." Blu said.
"We sure dad brother." Banjo said.
"I am excited to have the food." Nightfly said.
Linda helped her mom cook the turkey. Tulio, Fernando, and Manny cooked the cabbage and rice. After cooking. The food is all done cooked. There is turkey, rice, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, veggies, cranberry sauce, and the desserts they have is pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, chocolate delight, pecan pie, and apple pie. All Linda's family and friends came in the afternoon. Everyone gathered up and greet Linda, Tulio, and Fernando.
"Blu what are you thankful for?" Jewel asked her mate.
"I am thankful for Linda for taking care of me and my brother Banjo in 15 years in Minnesota. I never guessed for a human to helped to us. A bookstore home to protect me from the cold, our ability to read and write. Tulio for helping me get a girlfriend named Jewel and showing me the beautiful city of Rio. "I am thankful for my children for coming to my life and I am glad that I am a father." He stops and looks at Jewel. "And lastly I am thankful for Jewel the love of my life who I saw as an angel. I thank you for helping me show how to be a jungle bird in Rio and I thank you for showing me the Amazon is our home. I realized that I can't depend on Linda all the time. We have three kids, find our species the blue macaws, and living our best life in the Amazon." Blu ends his speech and takes a look at his wife. Jewel just smiled at him.
"Oh Blu that was a beautiful speech." Jewel said.
"Yeah I meant every word." Blu said.
Jewel smiled at him them grab him and use her wings to pull him into a passionate kiss. Blu's eyes widen open with a surprise about the kiss. Blu kiss his wife back.
"Jewel what are you thankful for?" Blu asked her.
"I'm thankful that I am back with my species in the Amazon. I wish my dad and my aunt was here with us. Before we moved to the Amazon, I had survival that got me when I was transferred to Rio De Janeiro, I lived alone. For the humans that had good intentions of humans helping me. Blu you came in my life and give me a better life to be with you. You helped me how to make new friends, you and your brother saved me and Grace from Nigel and Hector, you save me from my fall to my death, and you took me to Tulio's aviary for him to fix my wing when my wing was broken. You gave me love and have three beautiful children. Thank you and I love you." Jewel said.
Blu was surprised that Jewel said those sweet words. Blu smiled and give her a hug. Jewel hugs him back. Banjo and Grace smiled at this moment.
"Banjo what are you thankful for?" Grace asked her mate.
"I am thankful for Linda for taking care of me and my brother Blu. I'm thankful for my brother Blu for being by my side and we have each other backs in Minnesota. I am thankful that I saw the city Rio. I am thankful for my children who brought joy to my life. He paused and look at Grace. "I am thankful for you Grace the love of my life. You are the most beautiful bird to be with. I couldn't even survive the jungle without you, I want to thank you for showing me the world. Thank you for accepting me as your mate. Our adventure in Rio with our friends was true love then you wanted to come to the Amazon which I made you happy. I want to be with you until the day we die." Banjo finished his speech. Grace look at Banjo with a smile on her face.
Grace was very touched by Banjo's word. She hugs him and grab him for a kiss. Banjo is shocked that his wife is surprising him with a kiss. She continue kissing him. Banjo accepted the kiss and put his wings around Grace kissing back.
"Now Grace, what are you thankful for?" Banjo asked.
"I am thankful that I have you Banjo in my life and we have four wonderful children. When I was alone I didn't trust anyone, I was alone my entire life until I met you. You have the right to be with me. Even though you was raised by humans, you showed me how to trust humans, and you were right about humans. Humans take care of birds when they are hurt and injured. At the Samba Club I started to fall in love with you, you are a sweet bird. I am grateful that you and Blu saved me and Jewel from Nigel and Hector. When me and Jewel fell off the plane, I thought I was going to die. You and Blu jumped after me and Jewel in order to catch us. We shared our first kiss. You are a good husband to me, a good father to your children, a good brother to Blu, and a good brother-in-law to Jewel. You did everything for me. You and Blu took me, Grace, the kids, and our friends to the Amazon which we found our species. I love you so much Banjo." Grace finished her speech.
Banjo hugs Grace. Grace hugs him back.
"That was a beautiful speech guys." Tulio said.
"Thank you Linda." Blu, Jewel, Banjo, and Grace.
"You're welcome." Linda said.
"Everyone, hold each other's hands and wings." Leslie asked. Linda, Tulio, and Fernando locked hands. Blu, Jewel, Banjo, Grace, Alex, Lily, Cadence, Eddie, Bia, Carla, Tiago, Belle, Crystal, Junior, Max, Nightfly, Sorrel, Tomada, Tomada Junior, Bobbie, Lisa, Nate, Clive, Mary, and Bridget held to each other wings. Jewel let Tulio held her wing and Blu held Tulio held his wing. "Let us bowed our heads." Leslie said and everyone closed their eyes and bowed their heads. "Dear lord, we are thankful for the food that we will have placed on our table, we thank God that Linda, her husband Tulio, and their adoptive son Fernando who came to Minnesota with their feathered friends. We are thankful for life. I am grateful to have my daughter in my life. We are also thankful for our feathered friends who are here with us on this day. Help them travel from the Amazon Rainforest to Rio then traveled to Minnesota on a plane safe and sound. Thanks again for everything you have given us love and peace. In Jesus name, Amen."
"Amen." Everyone said.
"Alright family and friends, enjoy the food!" Leslie said as everyone began to eat their food.
