In the Hokage office of the Hidden Leaf Village, Suigetsu, Karin, and Jugo lounged around, their expressions a mix of impatience and confusion. Suigetsu leaned back in his chair, spinning a kunai on his finger, while Karin paced the room, glancing at the door every few moments. Jugo sat quietly, lost in his thoughts, as the atmosphere thickened with uncertainty.
"Where is Sasuke? He should have been back by now," Karin muttered, crossing her arms. "This isn't like him."
Before anyone could respond, the door swung open, and Inoichi Yamanaka and Shikaku Nara stepped inside. Their expressions were serious, a contrast to the casualness of the room.
"Hey, you guys," Shikaku said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We need to talk. It's important."
Karin raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "What's going on? Sasuke didn't mention anything about a meeting."
Inoichi exchanged a glance with Shikaku before responding. "There's been some unsettling news regarding Sasuke. We're holding a council meeting, and it's crucial that you attend."
Suigetsu leaned forward, his playful demeanor shifting to concern. "What kind of news? Is it about the war?"
"Not directly," Shikaku said, folding his arms. "But it involves his actions and the ramifications they might have on the village. We need to address this with the council, and we expect all of you to be present."
As Suigetsu, Karin, and Jugo entered the council chamber, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The council members were already assembled, their faces etched with concern and anticipation. Tsunade sat at the head of the table, flanked by Shikaku and Inoichi, her expression grave. The remaining members of the council, including some of the older Shinobi, whispered among themselves, their eyes darting towards Sasuke's teammates as they took their seats.
Karin glanced around, her heart pounding in her chest. "What's going on? Why are we here?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
As the murmurs quieted down, Tsunade cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention. "Thank you all for gathering on such short notice. We have urgent matters to discuss regarding Sasuke Uchiha's actions and their consequences."
Suigetsu crossed his arms, his brow furrowed in concern. "What do you mean? Where is Sasuke?"
Tsunade leaned forward, her expression unyielding. "I'm afraid I have some devastating news. Sasuke encountered Naruto at the Valley of the End. During their confrontation, he was killed."
A gasp echoed from the council members, and Suigetsu felt his stomach drop. "No way… That can't be true!"
"Here," Tsunade said, cutting through the rising panic. She tossed a bloodstained shirt across the table towards them. The shirt landed with a heavy thud, the dark crimson stains stark against the fabric. "This belonged to Sasuke. His battle with Naruto was fierce, and it ended in his death. I am now the Hokage in charge of the Leaf Village."
Karin's hands trembled as she picked up the shirt, her eyes welling with tears. "Sasuke… No…" she whispered, struggling to process the weight of the revelation.
"Why was he fighting Naruto?" Jugo asked, his voice strained. "What happened?"
Tsunade sighed deeply, her gaze unwavering. "Sasuke had allied himself with Kabuto and other rogue factions. His actions put not just our village at risk, but the entire world. I wish it had ended differently, but this was a battle that couldn't be avoided. We can't allow his choices to threaten the peace we've fought so hard to maintain."
Shikaku chimed in, his tone serious. "This meeting is not just about Sasuke's fate. We need to discuss what happens next. With Sasuke dead, there will be fallout, and we must ensure the safety of our village. We also need to understand the full extent of his actions leading up to this moment."
One of the elder council members shifted in their seat, addressing Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo directly. "What do you know of Sasuke's plans? We need all the information we can gather about his alliances and intentions."
"We… we don't know much," Suigetsu replied, frustration lacing his voice. "Sasuke kept things to himself. We thought he was just training, preparing for something big, but we never imagined it would come to this!"
Karin clenched her fists, anger bubbling inside her. "If we had known what he was planning, maybe we could have stopped him! This is all our fault!"
Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her steely gaze fixed on Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo. "Now that I'm Hokage, it's imperative that I understand your intentions. We can't afford any more surprises. I need to know what you plan to do now that Sasuke is gone. Your allegiance is crucial."
Karin shifted uncomfortably in her seat, glancing at her teammates before responding. "We are all test subjects of Orochimaru," she began, her voice steady but laced with emotion. "Sasuke was the one who freed us the day he died. We followed him because we had nowhere else to go. He gave us purpose when we thought we were just experiments."
Tsunade raised an eyebrow, processing the information. "So, you're saying that you have no loyalties to Sasuke anymore? That you were only following him because he offered you a way out?"
Suigetsu nodded vigorously. "Exactly! We don't want to be part of whatever he was involved in. We want to move forward, away from Orochimaru's shadow."
Inoichi interjected, "But we can't take your word for it. We need to ensure that there are no hidden motives. You must understand, with Sasuke's actions leading to war and chaos, we have to be cautious."
Tsunade leaned forward, her expression serious. "That means I will have to have you interrogated. You will be taken to the interrogation unit for questioning. This is not about punishment; it's about ensuring the safety of the village. Until we're finished, you'll remain under our watch."
Karin's eyes widened. "But we're not enemies! We want to help!"
"I understand that," Tsunade replied firmly. "But I can't take chances right now. Too much is at stake. I need to know if you're still loyal to the ideals Sasuke once upheld or if you're aligned with whatever darkness he may have pursued. Until I have that information, I can't allow you free reign in the village."
Suigetsu sighed, crossing his arms. "Fine. We'll cooperate. Just know that we're not here to cause trouble."
Tsunade nodded, satisfied with their agreement. "I appreciate your understanding. Once the interrogation is complete, I'll reassess your situation. Until then, I'll make sure you're comfortable and not treated like prisoners. You're still welcome in the Leaf, but trust must be earned."
As they walked through the dimly lit corridors of the Hokage office, Tsunade led Karin away from the group, her expression serious. "I need to speak with you alone," she said, gesturing for them to step into a quieter room adjacent to the interrogation unit. The door closed behind them with a soft click, isolating them from the others.
Once inside, Tsunade took a breath, her demeanor shifting slightly to a more personal tone. "Karin, I want to discuss something important. When I confronted Kabuto and destroyed his lair, I found evidence of his experiments. He had been attempting to create life through the combination of different bloodlines. One scroll I discovered detailed a child created from Uchiha and Uzumaki blood."
Karin's eyes widened as she processed Tsunade's words. "What are you saying?" she asked, her heart racing. "What does this have to do with me?"
Tsunade continued, "The scroll indicated that Kabuto deemed this child not worthy and sold them off. This concerns me greatly, especially given your heritage. I need to know if you have any connection to the Uzumaki clan."
Karin shifted uncomfortably, her thoughts racing. "I don't know for sure," she admitted. "I was raised in Orochimaru's experiments. I've always had a strong life force, and my hair is red, like the Uzumaki, but I don't have any memories of my family or where I come from. My only connection is with Sasuke and my teammates."
Tsunade studied Karin closely, searching her face for any sign of deception or insight. "The Uzumaki clan is known for their powerful chakra and longevity. If there's a chance you are part of that lineage, it could change everything for you, especially in light of this child. You could potentially be a key player in understanding what Kabuto was doing and possibly even finding the child, if they are still alive."
Karin's brows furrowed as she absorbed Tsunade's revelations. "I can only create sealing chains from my body," she admitted, her voice low. "It's not much compared to the other abilities of the Uzumaki clan, but it's all I have. I don't even know what else I could potentially do if I were truly one of them."
Tsunade regarded her thoughtfully. "You're not alone in this. My godson, Naruto Uzumaki, is also from the Uzumaki clan. His mother, Kushina, had red hair and shared many of the same abilities you possess. I have no doubt that if there is a connection, you two could hold significant power together."
Karin's eyes widened at the mention of Naruto. "Naruto is from the Uzumaki clan? I had no idea! He always seemed so different from us."
Tsunade nodded, her expression softening with pride. "He's a remarkable young man however he got his looks from his father Minato the Fourth Hokage and he has a lot of potential. Right now, I've sent him on a mission to investigate the whereabouts of the child that Kabuto created. If the child is still alive, it's vital we find them."
Karin felt a mix of excitement and apprehension. "What if I'm connected to this child? What if we really are family? I need to know."
"Exactly," Tsunade agreed. "That's why we'll need to conduct a DNA test to confirm any relation between you and the child. If you are indeed from the Uzumaki clan, it may reveal critical information about your heritage and your abilities."
Karin's heart raced at the thought. "What if I'm just another test subject? What if I don't measure up to their legacy?"
Tsunade placed a comforting hand on Karin's shoulder. "You are not defined by your past, Karin. The Uzumaki clan's strength lies not only in their abilities but in their will to protect others. You have already shown that determination. Now it's time to find out who you truly are and where you fit in this world."
Karin nodded, feeling a surge of resolve. "I'll do whatever it takes to discover my past. I want to be more than just Orochimaru's experiment."
"Good," Tsunade said, her tone firm. "Once Naruto returns, we can conduct the test. Until then, focus on staying strong and truthful during your interrogation. I'll be by your side as you navigate this journey."
With a newfound sense of purpose, Karin followed Tsunade back into the main area of the Hokage office, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, determined to uncover the truth about her lineage and the fate of the child that might hold the key to her identity.
In the Hidden Frost Village, Naruto opened his eyes, the soft glow of Sage Mode faded, leaving him feeling both grounded and invigorated. He turned to Jiraiya, a spark of determination in his gaze. "I was able to track the child's chakra. It's coming from a park up ahead," he said, pointing down a narrow path lined with frost-kissed trees.
Jiraiya's interest piqued, his usual jovial demeanor shifting to one of seriousness. "Are you sure? It's not uncommon for chakra signatures to fluctuate in this area, especially with all the interference from the weather."
Naruto nodded, confidence surging through him. "I'm sure. I could feel a familiar warmth mixed with the chakra. It's like I'm being pulled towards it." He stood up, brushing off the frost from his clothes, and took a deep breath, savoring the crisp air that filled his lungs.
"Then let's not waste any time," Jiraiya said, matching Naruto's pace as they began walking toward the park. "This child might hold important information about the Uchiha and Uzumaki bloodlines. It could even change the course of the future for both clans."
As they walked, Naruto felt a mixture of excitement and anxiety. The implications of finding the child weighed heavily on his mind. What if they were connected? What if this child had inherited abilities that could either help or hinder their efforts against potential threats?
"Hey, Jiraiya," Naruto began, glancing at his mentor. "Do you think it's possible for someone to inherit the best traits from both clans? I mean, what if this child has a unique ability that could turn the tide in any future battles?"
Jiraiya chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with a hint of nostalgia. "With the Uchiha's Sharingan and the Uzumaki's sealing techniques, it's not outside the realm of possibility. This child could potentially wield some incredible powers." He paused, looking thoughtful. "But remember, it's not just about power. It's about how one chooses to use it. That's what defines a true shinobi."
Naruto nodded, absorbing Jiraiya's words. "I understand. It's just that I don't want another child to go through what I did—being alone and misunderstood. If we find this child, I want to make sure they know they have a family."
As they reached the park, the atmosphere shifted. The air was filled with laughter and the sounds of children playing, their energy brightening the otherwise cold surroundings. Naruto scanned the area, his gaze landing on a small figure walking away from the park as it walked towards the empty streets of the quietest part of the village.
Naruto took a step forward, signaling Jiraiya to remain back. He wanted to approach the child on his own, to create a space where the kid could feel safe and open up. The park's laughter faded into the background as he focused solely on the child.
"Hey," Naruto called out, his voice steady but friendly. "Are you related to the Uchiha or Uzumaki clans?"
The boy turned around, a hint of curiosity glimmering in his eyes. "Oh yeah? Who's asking? And what's with that weird look on your face?"
Naruto's jaw dropped as he took in the child's features. The boy looked strikingly similar to a young Sasuke, with the same dark hair and sharp, intense eyes. The resemblance was uncanny, and it struck a chord deep within Naruto, stirring memories of his rival and friend.
Naruto crouched down, looking directly at him. "You know, you look a lot like him when I was your age," he said, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
The boy raised an eyebrow, confusion creasing his forehead. "Who is 'him'?"
"Your dad," Naruto explained, "Sasuke Uchiha. He belonged to an elite clan called the Uchiha. They're known for their powerful Sharingan eyes and incredible jutsu. It's why people feared them—and why they were sought after. Their power made them targets."
The boy's expression hardened at the mention of the Uchiha clan. "Yeah, well, that clan makes me sick. All that power and the fighting… It's pointless."
Naruto nodded, understanding the boy's feelings. "I get that. The Uchiha clan's history is full of tragedy and conflict. Everyone wants to use their power for their own gain."
He took a deep breath, knowing he had to be honest. "Now, about your dad… I kind of killed him." He hesitated, expecting a violent reaction, but the boy cut him off.
"I don't care," the boy said sharply, his tone surprisingly defiant. "He was never around anyway. He was just a name to me."
He looked at Naruto with narrowed eyes, suspicion etched on his face. "You know," he said slowly, "I have a feeling you're trying to get at something here. I know I'm part of the Uzumaki clan too, but I don't know anything about my mother. I suspect she abandoned me just like my dad did."
Naruto's heart sank at the boys words. He had seen the pain of abandonment reflected in his own life and now in this boy's eyes. "Listen to me, Kid," he said gently, trying to reassure him. "You do have a mother out there, and she's waiting for you. She's not going to abandon you. I believe she'll take good care of you."
The boy scoffed, shaking his head. "What does it matter? I'm being sold off soon, so it probably won't matter if I have a mother or not."
Naruto felt a rush of anger at the thought of anyone selling a child. "What do you mean you're being sold off?" he asked, concern etching his features.
The boy shrugged, looking away. "I overheard the people who took me in talking about it. They said I'm too strong to just leave here without a purpose, and they want to sell me to someone who can use my abilities.
Naruto looked at him, gauging the uncertainty etched on the boy's face. "So, what do you want to do?" he asked, hoping to encourage him to think beyond his current situation.
The boy crossed his arms, his expression troubled. "Will I really be able to find happiness if I end up being sold off? I mean, if no one cares about me…"
Naruto shook his head vigorously. "I can tell you right now, you're 100 percent not going to be happy if that happens. You deserve so much more than that! I've seen what happens to people who are treated like they don't matter, and it's not right."
"Then what do you suggest I do?" The boy asked, his voice tinged with a mix of skepticism and hope. "You're talking about happiness like it's something I can just grab off a shelf."
"I can't promise you it'll be easy," Naruto replied, taking a step closer. "But I believe there's hope for you. I want to take you to the Hidden Leaf Village. There, you'll have a chance to meet your mother and start fresh. You won't be alone anymore; you'll have people who care about you."
The boy hesitated, looking down at the ground. "But what if they don't want me either? What if I'm just a burden?"
Naruto crouched down to the little boy's eye level, making sure he had the boy's full attention. "You're not a burden. You're a person with your own dreams and desires. And trust me, once you meet your mom, she'll want nothing more than to embrace you and be there for you. It's not about what you think you deserve; it's about taking that step toward something better."
The boys expression softened slightly. "You really think my mom will want me?"
"I know she will," Naruto reassured him. "And I'll be there to help you every step of the way.
Feeling the weight of the moment, the boy let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Alright, let's go. I want to meet my mom."
"Great! Let's get moving then," Naruto said, standing up and extending his hand toward the young boy. "Follow me. We'll head to the Leaf Village, and I'll introduce you to everyone. You're going to love it there!"
With a newfound sense of purpose, the boy took Naruto's hand, feeling a small spark of hope flickering to life within him. As they walked together, the world seemed a little brighter, and the possibility of happiness felt just within reach. They set off down the street, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
In the heart of the Hidden Leaf Village, a crowd had gathered, the air thick with anticipation and a sense of foreboding. Tsunade stood atop a raised platform, her expression grave as she surveyed the faces of her people. She took a deep breath, knowing the weight of the words she was about to share.
"Citizens of the Hidden Leaf," she began, her voice steady yet somber. "I have come before you today to deliver news that weighs heavily on you all. Our previous Hokage, Sasuke Uchiha, has died in battle against Naruto Uzumaki."
A murmur rippled through the crowd, shock and disbelief etched on many faces. Tsunade held up her hand for silence, continuing, "While I know Sasuke's legacy is complicated, we must acknowledge the reckless decisions that led to this tragedy. His actions put our village at great risk and caused irreparable damage, not just to our homes but to our relationships with other nations."
The crowd shifted, some whispering among themselves, while others looked at Tsunade with a mix of anger and sorrow. She pressed on, determined to guide her village toward healing.
"However, I stand before you today not just to mourn our losses but to announce that I will take charge of the village moving forward. Together, we will rebuild and strengthen our alliances with the other villages. This is a new era for the Hidden Leaf, and we must embrace a generation of peace."
With her final words hanging in the air, Tsunade felt a renewed sense of determination among her people. As they began to cheer, she stepped back, her heart heavy but filled with a glimmer of hope for the future of the Hidden Leaf Village.
In the streets of the Hidden Leaf Village, the news of Sasuke's defeat was spreading quickly, and the impact was felt deeply by his former comrades. Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Tenten, Lee, Neji, Kiba, Shino, Hinata, and Sakura gathered together, each of them absorbing the loss in their own way. They had all fought alongside Sasuke at different points and had once hoped he might return as an ally.
Sakura stood slightly apart from the group, her face pale, eyes misty. She had known Sasuke the longest, and even through all the pain and distance, she had held onto a glimmer of hope that he could be saved. Seeing her sorrow, her friends instinctively moved closer, forming a protective circle around her.
Ino reached out, gently placing a hand on Sakura's shoulder. "Hey, if you need anything, we're all here for you, okay?" she said softly, her own voice a bit shaky. She knew how deep Sakura's connection to Sasuke was and could feel her pain.
Shikamaru sighed, his gaze distant but sympathetic. "It's tough, but at least now… there's no more running, no more hiding. He's finally at peace," he said, hoping to offer some comfort with his words.
Choji nodded solemnly. "We know how much you wanted him back, Sakura. We all did. But he chose his path."
Lee stepped forward, his voice full of determination. "Sakura, you are stronger than this pain. You're one of the most resilient people I know. Sasuke would have seen that too," he said, hoping to remind her of her own strength.
Hinata, ever gentle, approached with Hinata with kind eyes. "He'll always be part of you, Sakura, but we'll be here to help you move forward."
Sakura finally looked up, surrounded by her friends' support, and managed a small, grateful smile. "Thank you… all of you. I thought this would be easier, knowing he'd be free from his pain. But somehow, I just keep thinking about what could've been," she said, her voice cracking slightly.
Neji, understanding the weight of past regrets, added, "In our line of life, we learn that holding on can sometimes do more harm than letting go. Sasuke made his choice, and now it's time for us to move forward."
Kiba and Shino exchanged a look of quiet understanding, and Kiba placed a hand over his heart. "We'll all remember him, Sakura. Whatever he became, he was still one of us."
Tears welled up in Sakura's eyes, but they weren't just of sadness. There was also a sense of release. She'd been carrying the hope, guilt, and burden of her connection to Sasuke for so long. Surrounded by her friends, she felt a spark of healing begin to bloom.
"Thank you, everyone," she whispered, grateful for the bonds that held her up in her darkest moments. With her friends' support, Sakura found the strength to accept the finality of Sasuke's journey—and to start looking forward to her own path with them by her side.
As the group gathered around Sakura, Shikamaru spoke up, "Since Naruto's the one who took Sasuke down, maybe Tsunade will finally bring him back to the Leaf. Now that she's Hokage, she could offer him a place here again."
Ino nodded, looking hopeful. "Yeah, he's done so much for us, and everyone here knows he's a hero. It would only make sense for him to come back to the village he grew up in."
Sakura gave a small, bittersweet smile. "I wish he would come back and be part of the Leaf again. But after everything… he might feel he belongs in the Hidden Mist now. They'll probably throw him the biggest celebration ever." She looked down, her voice softening. "But it would have been amazing to have him here, as a hero in the Leaf. I know he'd still make us all proud."
Lee clenched his fist, eyes blazing with admiration. "Naruto's spirit is unbreakable! No matter where he is, his heart is as strong as ever. I believe he'll continue inspiring everyone, whether he's in the Hidden Mist or here with us!"
Hinata's gaze softened as she looked toward the village gates, almost as if she could see Naruto beyond them. "I think… no matter where he is, Naruto will always be connected to us. And someday, maybe, he'll find his way back here. I believe that."
Kiba crossed his arms, smirking slightly. "If he's getting treated like a hero in the Hidden Mist, I hope they're giving him a feast worthy of his appetite. He's probably eaten half the ramen supply already."
The group laughed a little at that, and even Sakura found herself smiling at the thought of Naruto being celebrated just as he deserved. Even if he was far from the Leaf Village, they knew his spirit would always be with them.
The group's eyes widened in disbelief as a massive cloud of smoke erupted near the center of the village. As the smoke cleared, they saw Jiraiya and Naruto standing atop a giant toad, Naruto grinning ear to ear.
"Wow, this place is still kicking!" Naruto shouted, taking in the familiar sight of the Hidden Leaf. His bright energy lit up the entire square, and villagers began gathering around, gasping and whispering as they recognized him.
The group was stunned, frozen for a moment as they processed what they were seeing. Then Sakura, unable to contain herself, rushed forward, her eyes filled with both excitement and emotion. "Naruto! You're back!"
Naruto looked down at her with his familiar warm smile, a bit of surprise in his eyes. "Sakura-chan! Hey, everyone!" He waved, looking at each of his friends in turn, all of whom were now gathering around him with faces full of joy and relief.
Shikamaru gave a small smile. "Didn't think we'd be seeing you so soon, Naruto. So, what brings you back?"
Naruto scratched the back of his head, laughing. "Guess I missed you guys. And, well, Tsunade-baa-chan asked me to help with a little something here."
Lee clenched his fists in excitement. "Naruto, your return is like a spark igniting the fires of youth within me! Let's have a sparring match to commemorate your return!"
Naruto grinned, shaking his head. "I've missed you too, Lee. But maybe later!"
Hinata stood quietly nearby, her cheeks pink with a gentle smile as she watched Naruto interact with everyone. She took a step forward, her voice soft yet filled with warmth. "Welcome home, Naruto."
He turned toward her, nodding. "Thank you, Hinata. It's good to be back, even if it's just for a little while."
Kiba, arms crossed with a big grin, smirked. "Did the Mist finally run out of ramen, or are you just visiting your old stomping grounds?"
Naruto laughed, glancing around at all the familiar faces of his friends. "Nah, they've still got plenty! But there's no ramen quite like Ichiraku's," he said, winking.
The crowd's attention shifted to the young boy standing by Naruto's side. Whispers spread as they all took a closer look, and soon jaws began dropping in shock and disbelief. The boy's resemblance to Sasuke was uncanny—his dark hair, intense eyes, and the unmistakable Uchiha aura.
Ino blinked, processing what she was seeing. "Naruto, who…who is this?"
Sakura took a step forward, staring at the boy with wide eyes. "Naruto…he looks exactly like Sasuke when he was younger!" Her voice wavered, and a mix of emotions played across her face. "Why is he here?"
Naruto let out a deep breath, glancing at the boy before looking back at his friends. "Apparently, the guy Sasuke was working with—Kabuto—used some of Sasuke's blood to create him. Jiraiya and I tracked him down in the Hidden Frost Village, and I couldn't just leave him there."
Kiba's eyebrows shot up, and he folded his arms. "So…he's like some kind of…clone?"
Naruto shook his head. "Not exactly. He's his own person. But, yeah, the resemblance is no coincidence. Kabuto experimented with Uchiha and Uzumaki blood, trying to create something powerful. I didn't think twice about bringing him here. Tsunade's going to figure out what's best for him."
The boy looked around, unsure of how to react to the attention. His expression held a mixture of curiosity and suspicion, his gaze sharp as he assessed the crowd. The familiar faces of the Leaf ninjas, though strangers to him, felt oddly comforting.
Sakura took a breath, her voice softening as she looked directly at the boy. "What's your name?"
The boy hesitated, glancing up at Naruto before answering, "I don't really have one… Not a real one, anyway."
Naruto placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We'll get that sorted out, don't you worry. For now, let's get you to Granny Tsunade."
Hinata, standing nearby, gave the boy a gentle smile. "Welcome to the Leaf. You're safe here."
The boy's hardened expression softened just a little, and he nodded, his defenses lowering slightly as he followed Naruto and the group toward the Hokage's office, leaving the onlookers murmuring and wondering just what this would mean for the village and the legacy of the Uchiha.
As Jiraiya, Naruto, and the boy entered the Hokage's office, Tsunade and Shizune's faces registered pure shock. The boy's striking resemblance to Sasuke was undeniable, and for a moment, the room fell into stunned silence.
Tsunade cleared her throat, attempting to recover her composure. "So…this is him?" she asked, her gaze darting between Naruto and the boy.
Naruto nodded, keeping a supportive hand on the boy's shoulder. "Yep. Jiraiya and I tracked him down in the Hidden Frost.
Shizune put a hand to her mouth, her eyes wide. "The same Kabuto who worked with Orochimaru? And he really…combined Uchiha and Uzumaki blood?"
Tsunade nodded solemnly. "That's what we've gathered. Naruto, I appreciate you bringing him here, though I'll admit it's surreal seeing someone who could be Sasuke's twin at that age." She let out a sigh. "I only hope he doesn't carry the same burdens Sasuke did."
The boy looked between the adults, his brows furrowing. "I'm not…whoever this Sasuke person was," he said, crossing his arms. His tone was tinged with irritation, but also a hint of confusion.
Naruto chuckled, giving the boy a pat on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it. You're not him; you're your own person." Turning to Tsunade, he continued, "I figured I couldn't just leave him. He deserves a chance to find out who he really is—without being someone's 'experiment.'"
Tsunade gestured for Naruto and the boy to take a seat as she prepared the materials for the DNA test. The boy shifted in his chair, his gaze flickering between Naruto and the equipment Tsunade was setting up. Naruto gave him an encouraging nod, hoping to put him at ease.
After setting up the equipment, Tsunade turned to Naruto. "I've already taken Karin's blood sample. Now we just need samples from you and the boy here," she explained. "This test should tell us if either of you are connected to him, or if Kabuto used some other source for his experiments."
Naruto held out his arm willingly, letting Tsunade draw a blood sample without flinching. The boy followed suit, though he was more hesitant, his gaze fixed on the needle with a slight frown.
Once she had the samples, Tsunade began the process of analyzing them, her hands moving skillfully as she input the samples into the testing device. She turned to them both as the results began processing.
"While this test runs," she began, "I think it's important to know… regardless of the results, you don't have to carry anyone else's legacy if you don't want to." She directed her words at the boy, her tone gentle. "Whatever blood Kabuto used doesn't define you. It's only part of your story."
Naruto leaned forward, smiling at the boy. "Tsunade's right. Whoever you want to be, it's up to you. Whether you're part Uzumaki or Uchiha or both, it doesn't change the fact that you're you."
The boy looked between Naruto and Tsunade, seemingly absorbing their words, though his expression remained guarded. He was quiet, but there was a glimmer of understanding in his eyes—a hint that, for the first time, he was starting to believe he had a choice in who he could become.
The machine beeped, signaling the completion of the test. Tsunade took a deep breath, glancing at the screen. "Here we go," she murmured, as the results appeared on the display.
Tsunade looked up from the test results and met the boy's eyes. "It's confirmed," she said with a solemn nod. "Kabuto used Karin's blood. You are one hundred percent her child."
The boy's expression shifted, a flicker of surprise and confusion passing over his face. He looked away, almost as if trying to process this new revelation. Naruto placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, offering him a reassuring smile.
Tsunade continued, her gaze turning to Naruto. "This also means Karin truly is an Uzumaki, just like you. It makes sense now. Orochimaru must have known the power and heritage of the Uzumaki clan. The Third Hokage did everything he could to protect you, but Orochimaru found another way to get Uzumaki blood for his experiments."
Naruto's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of sadness mixed with anger. "Orochimaru really went too far… But at least now this kid has some family, right? And if he's Karin's son, then he's got Uzumaki blood running through him, too."
Tsunade nodded, looking back to the boy. "You don't have to decide right now, but if you want to meet Karin, I can arrange it. She's here in the village, and from what I've seen, she genuinely cared for Sasuke, so she may want to know about you."
The boy stayed silent, still processing everything. After a moment, he looked up at Naruto, searching his face for some sort of guidance.
Naruto knelt down to meet his gaze. "You're not alone," he said softly. "You've got family here. Karin, me, and everyone else from the village. You've got a chance to make a new start if you want it."
After a pause, the boy nodded slowly, as if realizing for the first time that he truly did have a choice in where he belonged.
As Tsunade, Jiraiya, Naruto, and the boy entered the containment unit, they were met by Ibiki and Inoichi. Tsunade stepped forward, her expression serious as she addressed the two interrogators.
"What do we know about Karin?" she asked. "Is she clear for release into the Leaf Village? I need to know if we can trust her."
Inoichi nodded, glancing at his notes. "From our sessions, it's clear she harbors no hostility toward the Leaf. Her loyalty was primarily to Sasuke. Now that he's gone, she seems genuinely lost but hasn't shown any sign of aggression or hidden agendas. Her cooperation has been solid."
Ibiki added, "She's been compliant and forthcoming. Given her past as one of Orochimaru's captives and Sasuke's team members, she could have chosen a different path. But so far, she's expressed nothing but a willingness to stay peacefully."
Tsunade glanced back at Naruto and the boy, her gaze softening as she thought about what this would mean for both Karin and her newly discovered son. "Very well. Let's bring her in."
A few moments later, Karin was escorted into the room, her red hair vibrant and eyes wide with curiosity and a touch of anxiety. She looked around, taking in the sight of Tsunade, Jiraiya, and finally Naruto standing beside the boy. Her gaze lingered on the boy, her expression shifting as if she sensed something familiar.
"Karin," Tsunade began, her tone gentle but firm, "there's something important you need to know." She paused, allowing the weight of her words to settle. "This boy… he's your son. Kabuto used your blood to create him."
Karin's eyes widened, her hand going to her mouth as she looked at the boy in disbelief. "My… son?" she whispered, almost unable to believe it.
The boy looked up at her, unsure but intrigued. He shifted uncomfortably, but Naruto placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Karin took a tentative step forward, her voice trembling. "I… I never thought… I thought I was the last of my family." Her gaze softened as she looked at the boy, her voice barely a whisper. "I don't know what kind of life you've had, but… I'm here now. And if you'll let me, I'd like to get to know you."
The boy hesitated, glancing at Naruto and then back at Karin. After a moment, he gave a small nod.
Karin pulled the boy into a tight embrace, her tears flowing freely as she held him close. She looked down at his face, her hands gently cupping his cheeks, and couldn't help but smile through her tears. "You… you do look a bit like him," she murmured, her voice filled with a mix of wonder and sadness.
Tsunade watched the reunion with a softened expression before addressing Karin. "You're free to go, but for now, you'll be under the watch of the ANBU," she said, her tone firm but not unkind. "We want to ensure that you and the village are both protected. Given your medical skills, we'd also like to offer you a job in our medical corps. It's a good opportunity for you to start fresh and to provide for yourself and…" she glanced at the boy, "your son."
Karin looked up, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Lady Tsunade. I don't know how I'll ever repay this kindness. Being able to stay here and… and be with him… it means everything."
Naruto gave her an encouraging nod. "You've got a family now, Karin. And the Leaf Village isn't so bad once you get used to it. You'll find your place here."
Jiraiya stepped forward, placing a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Seems like a new beginning for a lot of us. Good luck, Karin. And kid," he added, looking down at the boy, "you've got people who care about you now."
With heartfelt thanks, Karin and her son prepared to leave the room. She glanced back at Naruto, her gaze filled with unspoken gratitude. She'd come to the Leaf as a follower, but now, thanks to Naruto and Tsunade, she was leaving as part of a family, with hope for the future.
