In the dim light of the Hidden Leaf's underground chamber, Sasuke's eyes opened slowly, adjusting to his surroundings. He felt a burning, intense power surging through him. Karin, who had stayed by his side, approached cautiously.
"Sasuke… how are you feeling?" she asked, her tone tentative, sensing the dark energy radiating from him.
Without warning, an immense, shadowy aura erupted around Sasuke, dark and menacing, as Susanoo arms formed around him and slammed violently into the chamber walls, causing the ground to shake. His newly awakened Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan glowed with power, and a twisted smile formed on his face as he surveyed his surroundings.
"I feel… unstoppable," Sasuke said, his voice laced with a cold confidence. "This power… it's unlike anything I've felt before. I can take on anyone, anything."
Karin took a step back, both awed and slightly unnerved by his intensity. "This… this is what you wanted, Sasuke. With that power, there's no limit to what you can achieve. But be careful… it's overwhelming."
Sasuke's eyes flickered to her, the Sharingan reflecting a dangerous gleam. "I know exactly what I'm doing, Karin. With this power, I'll bring true justice. No one will stand in my way—not the Kage, not Naruto."
His Susanoo arms retracted, the dark aura slowly dissipating, but the force of his energy still lingered in the air, thick and oppressive. He clenched his fists, reveling in his newfound strength.
"Let them come," Sasuke muttered, his voice dripping with anticipation. "I'll show them all who truly wields power."
As the heavy silence lingered in the chamber, Suigetsu and Jugo entered, their expressions a mix of caution and urgency. Suigetsu looked around, his eyes widening slightly as he saw the aftermath of Sasuke's awakening, the walls cracked from the force of his Susanoo.
"Karin, is Sasuke…?" Suigetsu began, but his words trailed off as he spotted Sasuke standing there, very much awake and emanating an intimidating power.
Sasuke's gaze locked onto Suigetsu and Jugo. "I'm awake. What is it?" he asked, his voice filled with authority.
Suigetsu shifted uncomfortably. "Well, I've got good news and bad news," he started, his tone slightly hesitant.
"Spill it," Sasuke replied, unmoved.
Suigetsu took a breath. "The good news: Madara's been defeated. Apparently, Naruto managed to pull it off. The Anbu confirmed it after investigating the battlefield."
Sasuke's expression darkened for a moment, but he simply nodded. "And the bad news?"
Jugo stepped in, his voice low and steady. "The Five Nations are targeting you, Sasuke. They're holding you responsible for using the Reanimation Jutsu in the war. They see you as a threat now."
To their surprise, Sasuke let out a cold, humorless laugh, his newly awakened eyes gleaming with a deadly confidence. "Let them come," he said, his tone dripping with contempt. "I've awakened a new power, one that surpasses anything they've seen. This power will help me crush anyone who stands against me."
He looked at each of them, his voice carrying a chilling certainty. "They think they can target me, but they have no idea what I'm capable of now."
Suigetsu smirked, though a hint of nervousness flickered in his eyes. "Sounds like you've got it all figured out then."
"Don't worry about them," Sasuke said with finality, glancing toward the door. "Prepare yourselves. We'll need to be ready for whatever comes next."
Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo exchanged glances, feeling the weight of Sasuke's confidence and the foreboding sense of the power he now wielded. They knew Sasuke's path was about to get even darker—and there would be no turning back.
In the Hidden Mist Village along the beach, Hotaru hesitated before speaking, glancing at Haku with a shy smile. "I… I really like Utakata," she confessed. "But with everything going on, I don't know if anything could really happen. I have to head back to my hometown soon to fulfill my duties… and I don't think he'd understand or reach out."
Haku listened carefully, her gaze gentle. "It's never easy, balancing what we have to do with what we want," she replied. "But if you feel this way, maybe it's worth telling him. You'd be surprised—Utakata might understand more than you think."
Hotaru bit her lip, considering Haku's words. "I guess it's worth a try. Maybe he needs to hear it from me."
Hotaru looked over at Haku, concern in her eyes. "How are you holding up, Haku? Especially… with everything now that you're pregnant. Are you doing okay?"
Haku smiled softly, though there was a hint of sadness in her gaze. "Thank you, Hotaru. I'm… doing my best." She looked out at the waves, her fingers gently brushing over her stomach. "I miss Naruto so much. Every day, I pray he's safe and that he'll come back home. I don't even want to imagine… what it would be like if he didn't."
Hotaru placed a reassuring hand on Haku's shoulder. "He's strong, and he loves you deeply. I'm sure he's fighting his hardest to come back to you and his future family."
Haku nodded, her smile returning a little brighter. "I believe that too. I have to."
Haku's gaze grew distant as she looked out over the water, her voice quiet but filled with longing. "There were nights I couldn't sleep, Hotaru," she admitted. "I was so sure I could feel huge vibrations and hear distant explosions, like the very earth was shaking. Every time, my heart would race, wondering if Naruto was out there, in the middle of it all."
Hotaru placed a reassuring hand on Haku's shoulder, sensing the depth of her worry. "That must've been so hard, Haku. Not knowing where he was or if he was safe."
Haku nodded, a soft sigh escaping her. "I just wanted to be there by his side, to support him. But I know he'd want me to stay here, protecting what's to come." She placed a hand over her belly, her expression softening. "Still, every day I just pray he'll come back to us soon, and we can finally have the peace we've dreamed of."
Hotaru smiled, giving Haku's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "He'll come back, Haku. I'm sure of it. Naruto wouldn't let anything keep him from you." The two stood there in silent support, watching the waves crash gently on the shore, each hoping for the day Naruto would return to the Hidden Mist.
In the medic tent within the Land of Tea, Naruto blinked awake, his eyes adjusting to the soft light filtering through the fabric walls. For a moment, he was disoriented, the weight of his recent battle with Madara still lingering in his body. He looked around, realizing he was lying in a recovery cot, covered in bandages.
Just then, Utakata and Chojuro entered, their expressions shifting from concern to relief as they saw Naruto awake.
"Finally up, huh?" Utakata said with a slight smile. "How are you feeling?"
Naruto chuckled weakly, though his voice was a bit hoarse. "Well…my whole body feels like it's made of lead, and my head's still spinning a little," he admitted. He wiggled his fingers, testing his movements, then looked up at the two. "But, honestly, the worst part is I'm starving. Any idea what's for lunch?"
Chojuro laughed, his face breaking into a grin. "Same old Naruto, I see. Don't worry—we've got the medics bringing in some food soon. You'll have your energy back in no time."
Utakata smirked. "Seems like surviving a battle with Madara didn't change your appetite, at least."
Naruto managed a grin back, his eyes bright despite his exhaustion. "Guess it's gonna take more than that to change me," he said, his spirit as resilient as ever. "But man, a big bowl of ramen right now would be a dream."
Chojuro and Utakata exchanged an amused glance. "You'll have to settle for something a little simpler for now," Chojuro replied, "but once you're back on your feet, I'm sure we can find you all the ramen you can eat."
Naruto laughed softly, sinking back onto the cot. "I'll hold you to that."
As Tsunade and Jiraiya entered the medic tent, Tsunade nodded to Chojuro and Utakata, gesturing for them to give her and Jiraiya some space to talk with Naruto privately. The two quietly stepped out, leaving Naruto alone with his former mentors.
Naruto looked up at them, an exhausted but hopeful glint in his eyes. "So… is it finally over?" he asked, his voice holding a cautious optimism.
Tsunade gave a small nod, her expression a mix of relief and lingering concern. "For now, yes. Madara is gone, and the immediate threat is dealt with. But…" She trailed off, her gaze shifting to Naruto's face, more specifically to his new eye, glowing a brilliant, light blue reminiscent of a clear sky. "I need to ask you about that eye. It's… similar to the Rinnegan, but different. When did it awaken?"
Naruto blinked, raising his hand to his eye instinctively. "This?" He paused, recalling the desperate moments with Madara. "It happened during the fight. I… I thought that was it for me. Madara had me pinned, and I could feel my life slipping away. But something inside me just wouldn't give up." He took a deep breath, remembering the rush of power that had come in that moment. "Then, this new eye appeared, and everything changed. It's like I could control space itself. I used it to counter Madara's strongest attacks and… well, finish things."
Jiraiya studied Naruto, his expression thoughtful and a bit wary. "So you managed to awaken this power when you were on the edge. But do you have any idea what it really is? Or what it can do?"
Naruto looked at Jiraiya, excitement flickering in his gaze despite his exhaustion. "This eye… it's unlike anything I've ever used. I can feel space itself around me, like I'm connected to it. I can channel chakra to a point where I can almost… control reality itself. It's not genjutsu. It's the actual fabric of space."
Jiraiya's brow furrowed as he listened, his curiosity and caution growing in equal measure. "So you're telling me it's like… you can manipulate the world around you? Shape it however you want?"
Naruto nodded. "Sort of, yeah. I managed to figure out three moves during the fight with Madara. The first is this spacial barrier. When I activate it, nothing can touch me—not weapons, not jutsu. It's like there's this invisible wall that blocks anything from reaching me."
Tsunade's eyes widened slightly. "An absolute defense… That's beyond anything we've ever seen, even from the Hyuga clan's rotations or Gaara's sand shield."
"And that's just one of the abilities," Naruto continued. "I can also concentrate my chakra to teleport short distances, almost like I'm folding space itself to get where I need to be in an instant. It saved me more than once against Madara's attacks."
Jiraiya was silent for a moment, processing the magnitude of Naruto's newfound abilities. "And the third ability?" he finally asked.
Naruto's gaze darkened as he remembered the technique. "I call it Spiraling Sun. It's a massive chakra sphere, but not like the Rasengan. It channels both my own chakra and this eye's spacial energy to compress and unleash pure force. When it hit Madara… it was like space itself exploded."
Jiraiya and Tsunade exchanged a glance, their awe and wariness evident. Jiraiya sighed, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Well, Naruto, you've certainly exceeded our expectations once again. But this new power… we'll have to be careful. You're not only the hero of this war—you're carrying abilities that no one has ever wielded. We'll need to work with you to make sure you stay in control."
Naruto nodded solemnly. "I understand, Pervy Sage. I won't let this power go to my head. If anything, I'm more determined to protect everyone now. And if this eye can help, I'll learn to master it."
Jiraiya gave out a small chuckle as he handed Naruto a steaming bowl of ramen, grinning as Naruto's eyes lit up. "Eat up, kid. You've more than earned it. Once you've rested, we'll be heading back. The Hidden Mist and Sand forces will be heading home to start rebuilding and recovering. It's going to take time, but you helped make that possible."
Naruto dug in, savoring each bite after days without a real meal. As he ate, his expression grew more serious. "Thanks, Pervy Sage. But… what's going to happen to Sasuke? He's still the Hokage, but he didn't stick around to help us win this war."
Tsunade crossed her arms, a troubled look in her eyes. "Sasuke may hold the Hokage title, but his actions in this war have left him in a complicated position. The other villages are concerned about his alliance with Kabuto and the use of the Reanimation Jutsu. And with Madara defeated, there are whispers that some villages may demand accountability for his actions."
Jiraiya nodded, leaning against the tent post. "The Raikage and Tsuchikage are both wary of him. Even if they don't outright oppose him, they'll want answers. He's put Konoha in a risky spot."
Naruto lowered his bowl, his gaze somber. "So… is there going to be a summit? One where they decide what to do about him?"
Tsunade sighed. "Yes. The village leaders are already talking about a summit, though without Sasuke's invitation. Mei, Gaara, and the other Kage are still wary of his intentions. They'll have to find a way to address it without sparking another conflict."
Naruto clenched his fist. "If Sasuke tries anything, I'll stop him myself. I won't let anyone else suffer because of this war."
Jiraiya placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "I know, Naruto. For now, focus on healing. Whatever happens next, you'll need your strength."
Tsunade offered Naruto a gentle smile. "Get some rest, Naruto. Jiraiya and I need to check on the others, but we'll make sure everything is taken care of."
As they stepped out of the tent, Naruto relaxed back into his cot, letting the peace of the moment settle in. A few minutes later, Mei and Zabuza entered, their faces a mix of relief and pride.
"Naruto," Mei said warmly, stepping closer. "How are you holding up? I don't think we've properly thanked you yet for everything you've done."
Naruto managed a small grin, though his exhaustion showed. "I'm alright, just… numb, mostly. I didn't think I'd actually make it out of that fight with Madara. But it's over, right?"
Zabuza chuckled, arms crossed as he looked down at Naruto. "You really went and did the impossible, kid. Not many could've faced down Madara Uchiha and lived to tell the tale. You've earned the respect of everyone here, that's for sure."
Mei nodded. "It's thanks to you that we can finally rebuild and move forward. The Hidden Mist owes you a debt, Naruto. I heard about your new abilities, too… seems like you're practically a legend now."
Naruto's cheeks reddened slightly at her praise. "I just did what I had to… didn't think about it much beyond that." He looked up at Mei and Zabuza, his gaze steady. "Once I'm recovered, I'll be heading back to the Mist with you. It's where I belong, and I have a promise to keep."
Mei's expression softened as she glanced at Zabuza. "We'll be glad to have you back, Naruto. The Mist is your home."
Zabuza gave a firm nod. "And I'm sure everyone there will be ready to celebrate."
Mei leaned in a bit, her gaze drawn to Naruto's eye, which shimmered with a unique, light-blue hue. "So, that's the new eye everyone's been talking about," she remarked, intrigued. "It's… different from the usual Rinnegan, isn't it?"
Naruto nodded, reaching up to touch the edge of his eye, still getting used to the strange sensation. "Madara called it a Rinnesharingan, but he said this color… this light blue, that's rare. Apparently, it's not something you see often, even in legends."
Zabuza crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "Rare, huh? Leave it to you to awaken something that even the Uchiha hadn't seen before."
Mei smiled, fascinated by Naruto's new power. "And have you figured out what it does?"
Naruto thought for a moment, recalling the intense, spatial control he'd tapped into during the battle. "I can channel chakra to manipulate space itself. It's not genjutsu… it's like I'm bending reality around me. I can create barriers that stop enemies from reaching me, and I've unlocked a few other moves with it, too."
Mei listened closely, clearly impressed. "A power like that… it could change the balance of a battle completely. You've become a force even the strongest would fear."
Naruto rubbed the back of his head, slightly embarrassed. "I guess… but I'll use it to protect everyone I care about. That's all that matters to me."
Zabuza smirked. "Sounds like a good plan, kid. Just don't go getting any ideas about world domination," he joked, though there was a glint of genuine respect in his eyes.
Naruto laughed, shaking his head. "Nah, I think I'll leave that to the bad guys. I just want to get back to the Hidden Mist, rebuild, and finally have some peace with Haku."
Mei placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Maybe it's a good idea she stayed home or else she would've ended up hurt in this war. I'm sure she'll be waiting for you."
Naruto nods, feeling a sense of relief. "Yeah, I'm glad she stayed safe," he says, his mind drifting to the thought of Haku back home, waiting for him. Mei smiles, reassured that Naruto's determination is still strong, and she adds, "We'll be heading back soon. The Hidden Mist could use a bit of hope after everything that's happened. Your return will mean a lot to everyone."
Zabuza places a firm hand on Naruto's shoulder, his expression unusually warm. "Rest up, kid. The Mist needs you, and Haku's been waiting long enough."
Sasuke stood just beyond the Leaf Village gates, his expression hardened, eyes focused on the path ahead. As he turned to leave, Sakura approached, her face etched with concern. "Sasuke… I just wanted to say I'm sorry about Itachi. I know he meant a lot to you."
Sasuke's gaze shifted briefly toward her, but he remained resolute. "I don't need sympathy, Sakura," he replied, his voice steady but cold. "Not right now. I have things I need to do."
Sakura stepped closer, her brow furrowing. "But… Sasuke, where are you going? After everything we've been through, you don't have to face this alone."
He looked at her with a hint of softened resolve but quickly turned his gaze back to the horizon. "There are things that only I can take care of. I've made my choice."
Sakura hesitated, pain flashing in her eyes, but she didn't press further. She knew that look — the determination that had always defined him. "Then, at least let me wish you luck," she murmured. "I hope you find the answers you're looking for."
Without another word, Sasuke nodded slightly, then turned and walked forward, his silhouette slowly vanishing from view, leaving Sakura standing alone by the gate, watching him disappear once again.
Karin hurried out of the hospital, her anxious gaze darting around until she spotted Suigetsu and Jugo by the entrance. She approached them, eyes narrowing. "Where's Sasuke? I just checked his room, and he's gone."
Suigetsu scratched the back of his head, shrugging nonchalantly. "He headed out to take care of some 'business' or whatever," he replied. "But he told us to stay here and look after the village while he's gone."
Karin's eyes widened, her fists clenching. "You just let him leave? Don't you realize he might be planning something reckless?" She shot Suigetsu a look of frustration. "Sasuke's been through too much, especially after losing Itachi. He doesn't need to do this alone."
Jugo looked at her calmly, his expression somber. "Karin, you know Sasuke. Once he sets his mind on something, there's no stopping him," he said quietly. "But he trusts us to keep things stable here."
Karin sighed, the worry evident in her face. "I just… I just have a bad feeling. We've lost so much already." She hesitated, looking out into the distance. "I just hope whatever he's planning doesn't get him into more trouble."
Suigetsu tried to offer a reassuring grin. "Hey, it's Sasuke. He'll be fine. But just in case…" he looked to Jugo, "we'll keep an eye out for anything unusual and be ready to act if needed."
Karin nodded reluctantly, glancing one last time in the direction Sasuke had gone, hoping he would return safely.
At the edge of the Hidden Leaf Village, Sasuke took out a small piece of Naruto's clothing he had kept from Naruto's old apartment. Holding it for a moment, his gaze hardened with determination. He knew Naruto would stand in his way and believed that facing him was the first step toward his larger plan.
Summoning a hawk, Sasuke tied a note to its leg with instructions to seek out Naruto and deliver the message. The hawk took off into the sky, and Sasuke watched it soar away for a moment before turning and heading toward the Valley of the End.
The note simply read:
"Naruto, meet me at the Valley of the End. It's time we settle this once and for all."
As he moved swiftly through the trees, a cold resolve filled his mind. This was where it would begin—he would eliminate Naruto, and then nothing would stop him from reshaping the shinobi world. The looming statues of Hashirama and Madara awaited him in the valley, symbols of the clash between old ideals, but Sasuke was intent on carving a new path.
This was more than revenge; this was about finally realizing the change he believed the shinobi world needed.
As the Hidden Mist forces prepared to depart the Land of Tea, Naruto walked alongside Mei, Zabuza, Utakata, Chojuro, and the rest of the squad. Despite the exhaustion from the battle, he felt renewed energy as they drew closer to home—closer to seeing Haku again.
As they reached a fork in the path, Mei stopped, turning to Naruto. "Naruto," she began, "I'll be heading to the upcoming Five Kage Summit. I wanted to bring you along, as there will be discussions about the future of all our villages and the steps we'll take from here."
Naruto looked at her, feeling the weight of her words, but Mei's expression softened as she continued, "But I know someone important is waiting for you in the Mist. You've earned the right to be with her. We can manage the summit without you this time."
Naruto nodded gratefully, smiling. "Thank you, Mei. I'll leave the summit in your hands." Mei gave him a supportive smile and nodded before signaling Ao and Zabuza to join her. As they set off for the summit, Mei called back, "Be safe, Naruto. And give Haku my best."
With that, Mei, Ao, and Zabuza headed in the opposite direction, bound for the summit. Naruto watched them go, then turned back to his path. His heart quickened at the thought of finally seeing Haku, knowing he had made it through and that he could now be by her side again.
As Naruto walked alongside Utakata, Chojuro, and the rest of the Hidden Mist forces, he could hear their praises ringing in his ears. They called him the "Demon Flash," a name earned for his incredible speed and prowess in battle, particularly during the war against Madara. Though he appreciated the recognition, his thoughts were elsewhere, focused on returning to Haku and the safety of the Hidden Mist.
Suddenly, a hawk descended from the sky, landing gracefully in front of him. It had a note secured to its leg. Naruto recognized it immediately and felt a sense of foreboding wash over him. He untied the note and read it quickly. The message was from Sasuke, his former rival and ally, and it sent a chill down his spine:
"I have unfinished business. I'm coming for you, Naruto. Prepare yourself."
Naruto's expression hardened. He folded the note and turned to Utakata and Chojuro, determination etched across his face. "I have business to take care of," he said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of urgency.
"Wait, what do you mean?" Chojuro asked, confusion crossing his features.
Naruto shook his head, cutting him off. "It's something I need to handle on my own. Don't follow me."
Before they could protest, Naruto dashed away, tapping into his newly acquired speed and the powers of his Rinnesharingan. He disappeared in a blur, racing towards the Valley of the End. The wind rushed past him as he pushed himself harder, knowing that he had to confront Sasuke before it was too late.
As he ran, thoughts of Haku and his recent victory against Madara fueled his resolve. He could not allow Sasuke's ambitions to threaten everything he had fought for. The landscape blurred around him, and he was determined to reach the valley and confront Sasuke before the situation escalated further.
