Grampa, Save Me

The first thing Tyson sees in the morning after opening his social media feed is a photo of Kai and Kristina. They're both looking into the camera. She's kissing his cheek. Ew.

It's from her page but Tyson doesn't follow her but he does follow Robert who had reposted it. Robert's a little obsessed with Kai, Tyson's starting to learn. With all of the Blitzkriegs actually. He seems to have a particular hatred for them.

He's seen Robert glaring at them as they passed in the hallways and even making some bitchy remarks when someone brought up the subject once.

Tyson wonders if there's a specific reason for it or if it's just because of who the Blitzkriegs are. People tend to love them and hate them at the same time.

As for Tyson, he feels nothing but hatred towards them. Well, not all of them. Just Kai but that's more than enough to blacken his heart like tar corrodes lungs.

"Get out of there," Hilary knocks her knuckles against the side of his head. "What are you thinking about so much?"

"Nothing" he says, rubbing his temple. They're walking towards their classes. He glances at her and thinks about how her party had almost turned into a disaster. "Last night was good, right?" he asks unsurely for like the third time.

"Yup" She turns to smile at him. "It was an amazing night, Tyson, I told you. Best party ever. Really, thank you." She abruptly pulls him into a hug. "I'm so glad I have you guys as my friends," she says into his hair.

His arms come around her to hold her, slightly surprised. "Yeah" he says, "I'm glad to have you as my friend too."

She squeezes him fiercely and then lets go, looking at him with concerned eyes. "I saw you out there with him last night, you know? I saw you talking to him and I know you sent them away."

He already knows where this is going. She's worried.

"Hil, I'm fine," he reassures her.

"Are you sure? Because he seemed really angry and you looked-"

"I have it under control. I promise."

"It?" She raises her brows.

"Him"

Hilary rolls her eyes, smiling, and shoves his chest. "You're so full of shit."

"Everything is fine, Hil," he says again. "Don't worry about me."

"Are you lying to me?" she asks, looking at him from under her lashes.

"I'm not lying. I promise."

"Okay" Her eyes linger on him, still worried, but less than before. "If something's going on you'll tell me."

"I will" he says and pinpricks of guilt stab his chest for the first time. Images of him and Kai in that hotel room flashing unwelcome in the corner of his mind. What the fuck? Where is that coming from?

Hilary says "bye" and heads to her next class and Tyson looks at her retreating back frowning at himself. Does he need to tell her about that? Is it wrong to keep it a secret from her?

It's not like it's a thing. It's not like he's dating Kai or something (as if Tyson would ever. He gags just thinking about it.) That would be wrong. That would be a betrayal. They're having hate sex. There's nothing romantic about it. There are no feelings in it except may be feelings of violence.

But then why can't he tell her?

Because no one needs to know, his brain supplies. It's a shameful secret.

Right.

It still bugs him a bit. Not telling her. He's not used to keeping secrets from her. He'll tell her eventually of course. Just not now. Once Kai graduates may be?

"Oh Hil, you're never going to believe this but Kai and I used to hookup. Yeah, it's a really funny story…"

Tyson slaps his hands against his face and rubs it frustratedly.

"Granger" Kai says from behind him and he jumps nearly five feet in the air.

"What the fuck do you want?" he hisses, spinning around.

He's wearing a leather jacket and a haughty look. Tyson wants to shred both.

"Your little stunt last night," he says as if that's an explanation.

He groans in frustration. Here we go.

"I think you and I need to go for a trip tonight to make up for it."

"Yeah? Where? To your tight asshole? I don't think I'd fit," he says, intending to be all snarky but it doesn't quite come out the way he thought it would.

Kai frowns lightly, confused, thrown by what Tyson just said and wondering what exactly he'd meant by it.

Tyson grimaces. His brain quite literally malfunctions and goes , "$#FU?!"

Kai's one eyebrow spasms and he looks like he's going to make a joke about it for a moment but then he decides to just pretend it never happened and clears his throat.

Tyson follows suit and clears his too.

Moment erased. That was a blip. Never happened. Back to the regularly scheduled shitstorm.

"We'll be leaving at eleven," he says. "Wear a suit."

"For what?"

Kai takes a step forward. "Why would I ruin the surprise by telling you?" he sneers.

Tyson's tempted to punch him. He doesn't have any verbal capabilities for a moment (a normal occurrence around Kai) but then he finds them. "Where are we going?"

"That's for me to know and you to find out," he whispers in his ear before brushing past him, on his way to class.

A shiver of fear and premonition goes through him. Kai's intending to get his lick back at Tyson for threatening to smash his bike yesterday. He should go prepared. He touches the shell of his ear which is still hot where Kai's lips had grazed it.

"Tyson, where are you going?" Keke yells at him as he leaves the dorm.

"I'll be back soon," he calls over his shoulder. He hopes that he will be as he walks towards the Blitzkrieg house.

A black Aston Martin is idling in the driveway as Tyson gets there. He says a quick prayer before climbing into it.

He loves the interiors of this one. All dark grey and posh and quietly screaming of wealth. It smells really good too. Makes him envy Kai who looks like he costs a few hundred million dollars himself.

"Where are you getting all your money from?"

"Generational wealth, remember?" he says as he backs up the car, looking over his shoulder, one hand braced against the head rest of Tyson's seat.

"Your parents cut you off, remember?" asks Tyson, staring glumly out the windshield.

"Shut up, Granger," Kai says, glancing at him. Irritated by the fact that he brought it up. By the fact that he knows. By the reminder that he told him all of that himself. "Keep your nose out of my business."

Tyson folds his arms across his chest and looks out the window. The only reason he's even putting his nose in Kai's business is so he can find stuff to use against him. It's not like he wants to know things about the man who's driving him some place where he can murder him without anyone finding out about it.

Let's just get this over with, he thinks.

He takes him to a graveyard.

Oh fuck.

"What are we doing here?" Tyson asks, looking around them as Kai picks the lock on the gate and pushes it open.

There's literally no one around.

The road is empty. There are vines crawling all over the gothic-style gate.

Kai's waiting for him at the entrance.

"What are we doing here?" he asks him again right before he steps in.

"We're here for a party," answers Kai.

"A party?" In a graveyard?

"Yeah"

"You better kill me tonight or I'm going to strangle you to death," Tyson swears.

Kai laughs softly as they pick their way through the dark field full of dead people. There's…light.

From the full moon.

From the few lamps scattered around the area too far from each other to properly illuminate the graveyard.

They pass many tombstones. Tyson trips over a stone once but rights himself quickly, his heart hammering in his ribcage. There are trees around them and they're blocking the light from the moon, making it even harder to see where they're going.

"Where's the party?" He lied. Of course he lied. "I don't even know why I-" Tyson's saying when a bony, rotting hand reaches out from one of the freshly dug graves and clamps around his ankle.

He screams.

He screams so loud it scares the birds in the trees and makes them fly. And they must be exotic birds or something because he's never heard them make that type of sound.

He shakes his leg, kicking at the hand to make it let go of him. But it pulls the arm out further, mud falling away from the skeleton.

Tyson reaches down and pries the thing off of him. It's wet and squelchy. When he's free he runs. He looks around for Kai but doesn't find him.

"Kai?" he calls, scared. Where did he go?

He stops with his blood freezing in his veins when he sees more figures rising from the graves around him.

He clutches at his chest, looking for the locket with the protective charm that his grandpa had given him in 5th grade but remembers that he stopped wearing that in freshman year when they'd laughed at him for being superstitious.

Fuck.

Grampa, save me.

Technically, somewhere in his mind he knows that this can't be real. That ghosts aren't a thing. But right now, it looks so very real. The undead emerging bodies. They look dangerous.

He runs again. Away from them. They chase after him.

Circle around him.

Come close to him.

He screams as the hands reach him.

Grampa!

Then he hears laughter. People laughing around him. So many of them. Joyful laughter. The hands all fall away. The faces of corpses are peeled away to reveal warm, smiling, human faces.

"What the fuck?" he mutters shocked.

They were masks? It's people behind them. Then all of a sudden there's a party going on around him. There's music in the air. A drink is pushed into his hand. He gets a pat on his back and this guy from third year he's definitely seen on campus before thumps him on the back and says, "No hard feelings, right?" He grins at him. "It was just a prank."

Tyson forces a laugh. He doesn't even feel like himself. His limbs are still shaking. "Right." His voice comes out strange. "No hard feelings."

His tongue feels weird in his mouth.

He walks away from the crowd of people. The students from his university strolling around in costumes, talking about college stuff. He hides in a small huddle of trees and relaxes against a trunk, taking a small sip from the cup in his hand because he's thirsty but doesn't trust whatever's in it enough to drink properly from it.

He wills his heart to calm down.

So apparently, students from their university like to party in this graveyard. It's not too far away from campus so in a way it makes sense that they would come here. And they play pranks on people too. That scare had been way too good and professional for it to have been a one time thing.

So Kai made them play a prank on him.

That was all it was. Tyson was scared last night too when he heard the sudden ruckus in the hall, saw the piñata getting smashed. The purring glint in Kai's eye when Tyson had screamed at him. As if the more he told Kai to go away the more he'd wanted to stay.

The next time Tyson sees Kai he's going to kill him.

The next time he sees him-

There's a rustle of leaves as Kai steps into his hiding place.

They look at each other.

He presses his lips together as if he's trying to hold back a laugh.

Tyson throws the drink in his hand at him. It hits him nicely, wetting his hair, face, his chest. He doesn't seem too surprised by it though, like he's been expecting it.

Oh Tyson will give him what he wants.

"You son of a bitch!" he shouts. "I'm going to kill you!" He leaps towards him, swinging his fist. He misses. "That is the last time you mess with me! You were worried I was going to ruin your bike?" He pushes at his chest. "Your bike is going to be the least of your concerns when I'm done with you." He grabs Kai by the lapels of his jacket. "I'm going to make you wish you never met me!"

Then he just attacks. He's all fists and fury, a tornado. He feels Kai fighting his punches and hooks. Trying to hold him. "I'm going to ruin you. I'm going to ruin everything you care about-"

Kai pulls him into a kiss. Desperate, yearning, so full of desire.

Oh

His hands still as Kai's arms wrap around him, one going to the back of his neck, another pressing against his mid-back. Holding him to his chest as his mouth coaxes Tyson's open and his tongue sweeps into him.

He moans then. Can't help himself. His hands free themselves from where they were trapped between their bodies and pulls Kai in, sliding his fingers into his hair and tilting his head for a better angle.

He kisses him back harder, fiercer and it's almost a competition and he can't get enough. And he's losing his mind. Kai pushes him up against a tree and Tyson wraps his legs around him, Kai's hand drops to his ass, he presses a thigh against his cock-

They should fuck.

Tyson pushes him away. Horrified with himself. What is he doing? What are they doing?

They had been fighting. He had been mad at Kai. He's not supposed to be kissing him. And he definitely shouldn't be thinking about fucking.

Oh my god, he thinks. What the hell is wrong with him?

They're literally in the middle of the woods. There are people nearby.

They've lost it.

"Fuck" he swears, looking at Kai. He's going crazy.
