WHAT IS UP MUCKAAAACHUNGAAAAAS!? IT'S TRAVEZTY! And I'm here to bring you all an update on this story, and it's actually fairly good news if you guys can tell with me updating after discontinuing this story! So let me explain what has been going on, and why I had decided to stop this story in the First Place and why I am actually going to be taking this into a whole new direction than last time.
So first off, there are many reasons why I decided to stop writing this story, and while I do share blame in it, I will be blunt and a good portion of it was also Dracoreaper. You see, I'm not good at writing government or military stories, and while I did take his ideas into consideration, there were many points of contention that I've tried to work with him on but he wouldn't stop, and most of this was the completely random additions and changes to the military we had created for the Terran Dominion. For me, I like sticking to what we set in place early on, but he kept changing and adding in new military assets to the Dominion's Military, while I was trying to do my best to keep things as minimalistic as possible for the Dominion's Military, keep it concise and contained, but also flexible. Not only that, we would argue constantly on what weapons the Military would use because he wanted to bring in a ton of weapons and armaments from Warhammer 40K while I wanted to primarily focus on creating a form of weaponry that relied entirely on magnetic forces, and, because of my logical and literal brain, I couldn't accept any of Warhammer 40K's weaponry until I could understand the science behind them and figure out if they were true.
This is the primary reason why I don't like using Laser or Plasma weaponry, because I had watched Spacedock's videos on Science Fiction Weaponry, and because of his scientific dissections of the Weaponry of Sci-Fi and because of my autistic tendencies, I didn't like the Laser Weapons because of it. To give a bit of context, Plasma Weaponry have terrible range and plasma expands to fill any container it is put in, and Space is a massive container, which, even with magnetic properties to keep it contained, is far too big to keep plasma bolts contained in a concise shape. Laser Weaponry, on the underhand, has much greater range than that of Plasmas, but the problem with Laser Weapons is that they don't deal enough damage in the short term to do anything significant, they have to remain on target and locked onto a single spot in order to deal any meaningful damage. Not only that, as a Laser travels out from it's emitter, it rapidly transforms from a narrow line into a wide cone.
That is why I wanted to use Magnetic and Lightning-Based weaponry. Thanks to me discovering Slivian Iron from Star Wars, which turns out to have powerful magnetic properties, I could easily create Magnetic Weaponry based on it, namely the Helical Railguns, which are basically the hybrid of Railguns and Coilguns. As for the Lightning-Casters, Mass Effect already did the work, thanks to using Ion Lasers to guide the Lightning to a target with it's Arc Projector, Arc Pistol, and Reegar Carbine Rifle, which use invisible Ionizing Lasers to guide the Lightning they fire and electrocute targets.
The next problem I had with the story primarily mostly my fault because I had gotten cocky. You see, I'm used to writing on my toes and not having much of a plan. This is what I do when I write Dungeons and Dragon Stories, that way I can let the dice decide what is going to happen and I can keep things a bit random. I also did this, somewhat, for my other story, Monster Hunter Storm. However, for a project as big as the Terran Dominion, I sorely underestimated my own abilities. Plus some of the ideas weren't my own, I honestly couldn't remember everything that Dracoreaper and I talked about on Discord for this collaboration. Coupled with Dracoreaper constantly changing things, I couldn't bring myself to write down my notes because I was afraid he'd suddenly change things while I was writing the chapters. Unfortunately, this fear became realized when he suddenly started changing the functions of parts of the Military in the middle of the previous chapter.
The third reason why I gave up on this project was because I had not done my research into the Ssi-ruu and their means of warfare when I first true battles of the Terran Dominion, as well as not having a genuine territory map of the Dominion in Star Wars. Truth be told, I had absolutely no idea that the Ssi-Ruu used chemical warfare to paralyze the populations of a planet then capture them for Entechment, that was something I had not known until I started to realize something was off. Not only that, I had Darth Syphilis's Fan-Modified Map of Star Wars, but I never really figured out the territorial boundaries of the Dominion. However, recently, I found a tool on my computer that allowed me to mark out those territorial boundaries. Using the Wiki articles on the Chiss Ascendency, as well as making a few edits of my own, I marked out the region's of Chiss Space and the Terran Dominion. However, to add more planets to the Dominion, I took the Systems of the Fath Sector from Legends Continuity, and added them to the Dominion's territory, along with Jedha.
The fourth and final reason why I gave up on this project… Well… It's because u had tried to copy what the YouTuber Boofire191 did with his "Earth in Star Wars" story. Not only that, thanks to my autistic brain needing to make logical sense of the Star Wars Galaxy, I couldn't bring myself to appreciate the fantasy and wonder I once had with the series growing up, hence why I watched Spacedock's Videos on Sci-Fi weaponry and warfare, and, as Reaper had told me, "it sucked out all the fun of the Star Wars universe". And while I hate to admit it, he's right. This mindset started when I watched clips from Game of Thrones and saw their versions of Dragons for the first time, and saw their more realistic takes on mythological creatures in that universe. Since then I've lost touch with my spark of imagination and sense of wonder by trying to ground things in realism to make the most sense, much like Boofire did, but to a more logical level than he did.
However, I can't just get rid of that part of me, so I've been working on rebuilding this story from the ground up with Reaper to create a revamped version of this story that will no longer have an MHA Elements and will be purely Star Wars. So i will be warning you now. If I can't change this story's formatting to be a pure Star Wars story, then I will be creating a new version of the Terran Dominion that is purely Star Wars. However, if I can, will be removing all chapters except for this update, so that I can have the new story take it's place. I hope you guys can forgive me for what I had done and understand the major factors behind discontinuing this story. Hopefully things go well. Catch ya on the Flipside! MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
