Ruby Rose strolled through the hallways of Beacon Academy, her hands clasped behind her back as she hummed an upbeat tune. She wasn't really heading anywhere in particular—just enjoying the quiet moments of the evening.

As she rounded a corner, she froze mid-step. Up ahead, someone was approaching an elevator, their footsteps echoing softly. Squinting, Ruby immediately recognized the figure: Professor Ozpin. He looked around suspiciously, glancing over his shoulder as if to check if anyone was watching. Ruby, being Ruby, immediately dove behind a nearby pillar, her crimson cape fluttering a little too obviously.

"Miss Rose," Ozpin's calm voice called out, his tone as patient as ever.

Ruby peeked out nervously, chuckling awkwardly as she emerged from her hiding spot. "Uh, hi, Professor! I wasn't spying or anything. I was just, uh… admiring this pillar. Super sturdy. Great construction!"

Ozpin chuckled softly, the corners of his mouth twitching up into a faint smile. "It's quite alright, Ruby. Perhaps it's fate that you're here."

Ruby blinked, tilting her head. "Fate? Like, the good kind or the 'you're about to die in a Grimm attack' kind?"

"The good kind," Ozpin reassured her with a faint laugh. His tone then shifted, becoming more serious. "Tell me, Miss Rose… would you like to know a secret?"

Ruby's eyes lit up like Crescent Rose in combat mode. "A secret? Heck yeah! Secrets are, like, my favorite thing next to cookies, weapons, and capes!" She paused. "Is it about cookies?"

Ozpin smiled, shaking his head. "Follow me."

Ruby eagerly followed him into the elevator, her excitement bubbling over as the doors closed behind them. She half-expected some spy music to play as Ozpin pressed a button labeled "BROKEN: DO NOT TOUCH."

The elevator jolted and began to descend. Ruby's curiosity peaked as she watched Ozpin closely. "Sooo… where are we going? Is it a dungeon? A secret Grimm zoo? A cookie vault?"

Ozpin didn't answer right away, his face unreadable. As the elevator finally stopped and the doors slid open, Ruby's jaw dropped.

The room before her was massive, like something out of a sci-fi movie. It was circular, with glowing panels lining the walls and a massive, holographic map of Remnant floating in the center. Alongside the map were streams of what looked like hundreds of alternate versions of it, each slightly different. There were shelves filled with strange gadgets, glowing crystals, and what looked suspiciously like… a rubber duck in a jar.

"Whoa…" Ruby gasped, stepping inside. "Is this… your man cave?"

Ozpin chuckled softly. "Not quite. This room has been here for centuries, long before I became headmaster."

Ruby tilted her head curiously. "Wait. How long have you been headmaster?"

Ozpin hesitated for a beat, his eyes flicking away. "A topic for another time." Before Ruby could press further, he cleared his throat and asked, "Tell me, Miss Rose, have you ever heard of the Multiverse Theory?"

Ruby tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Uhhh… kinda? Isn't it the thing where, like, there are a bunch of alternate worlds? Like, what if I wore green instead of red, or what if I was a… I dunno, a pancake?"

Ozpin raised an eyebrow. "Not exactly, but close enough." He gestured for her to sit at a nearby console, where a hologram displayed two identical Rubys side by side. "The Multiverse Theory posits that for every choice made—or not made—a new reality branches off. An infinite number of possibilities, each as real as our own."

Ruby's eyes widened. "Wait. Are you saying… the Multiverse is real?"

Ozpin nodded solemnly. "Indeed. And this room exists to monitor and, when necessary, interact with it."

Ruby stood up excitedly, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "That. Is. SO COOL! Are there alternate me's out there? Am I, like, a pirate in one of them? Or a supervillain?! Do I have an eyepatch?!"

"Perhaps," Ozpin replied, amused. "But there's much more to it than simply knowing they exist." He opened a small box, revealing several sleek, watch-like devices inside. Taking one out, he handed it to Ruby. "This is called a Reality Band. It allows the wearer to travel between alternate realities."

Ruby inspected the device, her reflection gleaming in its smooth surface. "Ooooh. Shiny."

Ozpin smirked. "While powerful, it has limitations. Each band comes with only ten charges. Every trip to or from a universe consumes one charge. Use them wisely."

"So… I can visit, like, eight universes and come back?" Ruby asked.

"Precisely," Ozpin confirmed. "Though the bands can be recharged, the process is… complicated."

Ruby nodded, strapping the device onto her wrist. "Okay, so what's the catch? There's always a catch."

Ozpin's expression darkened slightly. "Two rules: First, always wear a disguise. You must never be recognized as yourself in another world. Second, avoid interacting with your alternate self at all costs. The consequences for reality could be catastrophic."

Ruby gulped. "Catastrophic, like… how bad?"

"Worst-case scenario? The complete collapse of the Multiverse."

"Got it," Ruby said quickly. "No touching other me's, no breaking the Multiverse."

Ozpin gave her a reassuring smile. "Good. Now, let's test it. I'm sending you to a world where you and your teammates are ten years older and have become accomplished Huntsmen and Huntresses."

"Wait, so I'm gonna meet future me?!" Ruby squealed. "This is gonna be awesome!"

Ozpin handed her a cloak, glasses, and a wide-brimmed hat. "First, your disguise."

Ruby groaned, slipping on the ensemble. "Ugh, do I have to wear the hat? I look like a sad detective."

"Better safe than sorry," Ozpin said, moving to the console. "Are you ready?"

Ruby nodded, her hand trembling slightly as she placed it over the band's activation button. "Ready as I'll ever be."

With a press of the button, a swirling vortex of light engulfed her. Ozpin watched as Ruby disappeared into the portal, leaving behind a faint shimmer of energy. He smiled faintly, sipping his coffee.

"Good luck, Miss Rose," he murmured. "And please… don't break anything."
