The tree is still while the watcher is motive. The tree is resistant to persuasion of other balance. The tree is above the line of watching.
The forest was cool, and humid. The forest had shadows from the suns position. While the hike was taking place, a quiet wind was sweeping through that bounced off each tree for multiple parts of the forest.
When the sign appeared on the trail for a hunters lookout up ahead, Katie knew what she needed to look for. She had heard that when the group of film makers went missing, that the look outs were active, and that it carried a large view of the forest with the right equipment. The had swept the area with a night vision camera and couldn't find anything, not even the tent that was left behind. After the tent was found, it was more easily seen from the lookout.
Katie followed Steve through the trail watching as ribbons they passed tied onto the trees swing. The trail had bushes that had tied together to make a thorn batch. When they reached the look out, Steve climbed up first, than as Katie was following she noticed on of the steps were loose. At the top, she could see large parts of the forest and could imagine that it made people feel safe to hike the path. The was a binocular set, she look through and saw the river first, than as she moved the device around she saw that trees were much more colorful from that view point. The trees seemed to have tops that connected space evenly. She kept viewing and the three cabin that she saw made a pattern, almost a perfect z. That was presently surprising.
The lookout was square shaped and she took photos from each side. Katie was heading back down when the step to the ladder started to wiggle and she slipped. She was hanging 10 more steps to go, when Steve noticed from the top. He told her to hang on and pull her up. Katie's bag was stuck in the ladder, and when she pulled on it, it seemed to pull back. It was a constant pulling struggle and she could feel the empty space underneath her. Steve had her hand and While holding on to her the space was getting heavier and her gravity was rushing towards the bottom. Steve finally pulled her up, after she became loose of her bag. Steve went down to get the bag, the zipper was stuck in the step. After staying the top 10 minutes, that climbed down again, and made it to the bottom.
Walking down the trail the trees seemed to comfort her from the scare. The trees were blowing and it cooled her down. There was another refreshment stand up ahead. When getting there she asked the worker if she heard anything about the lookout steps. The lady replied no, and suggested that maybe she had newcomer butterflies. Katie was glad the lady relived her of her worry's. Her and Steve finished there snack, and looked over the map, they were almost half way through the forest, the next half was next.
