Peter felt great as he was swinging around in his new black costume with the built in web in it; man TriCorp really made a miracle of science with this suit. He preferred the blue and red but hey; beggers can't be choosers.
Peter was playing close attention to the streets to see if there was anything that needed his intervention; sure enough a furniture store being robbed with masked robbers responsible. "This is not what they mean that the prices are a steal..." Peter joked jumping down to the gang of robbers there with their firearms.
"What... Spider-Man has gone black..." snapped one of the robbers as the robbers just started shooting at him; Peter began dodging with more awareness of where the robbers and bullets were. Plus feeling stronger as well; he was knocking them out but a couple of the robbers went to the driving seat of the truck they were using to store their stolen goods.
The truck drove off and when Peter had the rest knocked out; he then noticed the getaway truck. "Have to stop that..." Peter muttered but then found out the new webbing from the wrists of his suit then shot out and stretched farther than his old webbing would have. It then caught the truck and then pulled it hard and he then felt himself being pulled to it. He quickly got to the driver's seat and then knocked out the robbers as the police came.
"What's with the black suit Spider-Man?" asked one of the officers confused as they saw Peter and recognised the white symbol.
"Helps me blend into the night better and the white spider to keep on brand." Peter then joked right back as then out come in a longcoat was a short black haired Japanese woman who looked quite stern. "You carry yourself as someone important..." Peter said as the woman came up to him.
"Commissioner Yuri Watanabe of the Police Department of New York. Almost half of my force thinks that you are a reckless vigilante who needs to be brought in, almost half thinks that you are doing us a favor with the super criminals you brought down. The rest are not sure sure what to believe. I hope you can help me come to my own conclusion." she then explained as Peter then stared at her.
"Well if you want to be my Gordon to my Batman; see you around..." Peter said as he then web slinged away.
Early in the morning Doctor Twaki got up in his home and found out about Spider-Man's new suit in the news. Looking at a video on the Daily Bugle website of him swinging about with the new webbing and the pictures of the webbed up robbers; he was put into a panic first thing in the morning. He got a phone call and quickly answered it saying "I know... Spider-Man has the specimen..."
Peter had gotten home and felt great waking up and getting dressed; the new suit making so that he didn't need to waste any time changing into and out of it. He got his breakfast for him at the table with May there. He then felt his phone go off and there was Mary Jane texting:
You want to join Eddie and me studying at my home? Convinced Mayor Dad to let Eddie into the penthouse.
"Going to study at MJ's and don't worry; I will be careful in her rich politician suit's father's home." Peter said as May smiled at him.
"You take care all the same and while you are enjoying yourself with MJ in a nice rich suite; I'll be working on a double shift today." May then told him and Peter laughed as he cleaned up when he was done. He got out of the apartment building and going onto the streets; he found himself feeling extremely confident.
WIth his newfound confidence; he stutted the streets and found some street dancers; to think thathe started out doign what these street performers did. They were dancing to their boombox playing James Brown's People Get Up and Drive Your Funky Soul. He felt himself feeling like he could dance along to the song.
He got to the penthouse and there was a man in a suit there to greet him; "Peter Parker; I presume?" asked the man and Peter nodded; he was shown to the fancy expensive looking penthouse.
"Hold on a second... You are actually turning up? This is a surprise..." shouted out a voice and there was Eddie to greet him with a smirk as Peter frowned. "Lighten up bro; I was just joking... Don't tell MJ but a found a fridge and... This must be like hundreds of years old..." Eddie said showing off an alcohol bottle that he quickly hid in his jacket as Mary Jane came to see them.
"Hey Peter; What do you think of my place? I know it's a bit much but Mayor Dad insists on the best." Mary Jane asked as Peter just gave a thumbs up. "Well; try and not get distracted as I can show you where we can study..." Mary Jane said as she had them follow her to a dining table where there were school books for them.
Sometime later in Norman's office in city hall as he was meeting with Fisk; "...The files we have on Gargan and O'Hirn... Before being hired by Tri-Corp... Gambling debts to Gargan's name and pages of police brutality charges on O'Hirn's file from his time in the PDNY... They chose to give their special suits to them... O'Hirn's suit isn't coming off so far and we are having to build a special cell for him at Stryker's and who knows where OCtavius has taken Gargan..." Norman then said to Fisk.
"Jealous of what they pulled off Mayor Osborn? Should I have gone to them for creating supervillains?" Fisk asked as Norman glared at him. "Don't be like that; their tech will soon be yours. I imagine that the board will sign off on being folded into Oscorp at no price in exchange for any property damage fines and cases for putting the public in danger not being filed." Fisk then said with Norman glaring harder.
"How are you enjoying your new stay in that hotel I arranged for you to move into with your guard..." Norman retorted as then storming in was Twaki and some representatives of TriCorp.
"Doctor Twaki; I presume. Barging into my office; my friend and I were discussing yesterday's stunt. Plus your empoyers have sent out their guards armed with your tech as if acting as some sort of task force." Norman said harshly as Twaki then got to the desk.
"Mayor Osborn... Spider-Man's black suit came from our building and it's really dangerous... he is putting himself and the city at risk..." Twaki then shouted out as then there was a hole being smashed in the wall. Then there was Octavius smirking.
"Well... Mayor Osborn... Thief of my life's work... I coudl take my revenge now but I am in need of capital... I see you have one of your rich friends with you... I will give out my ransom in due time..." Octavius said using one of his limbs to snatck Fisk and then leave.
"Leave me be... I can write you a check right now... You have no idea who you are messing with..." Fisk snapped as Octavius ignored him.
The study session at Mary Jane's was going well; then they found the news alerts going off on their phones. They looked and saw that Octavius had now just kidnapped Fisk from Norman's office. "Oh my... Dad was there..." Mary Jane said in concern as Peter looked at the phone.
"Leave it alone Parker; let Doc Ock do whatever he wants with him. One less criminal Kingpin in the city; you wasted your time saving his life. Shoudl have jsut left him to collapse with his tower..." Peter thought dismissively as Eddie got up.
"What are you doing Eddie?" Peter asked as Eddie looked at him.
"What does it look like I'm doing? Sorry guys but I need to go get footage." Eddie said as they stared at him.
"Eddie; you know that you need to keep your grades up!" Mary Jane told him as Peter shook his head at what Eddie was doing; he would be wasting his time if he wanted Spider-Man to appear to boost up his blog.
"Look; bro here has bailed on us so let me have my time!" Eddie then said as Peter eyed and then shot up.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Peter demanded as Eddie looked at him.
"Pete; you know what I mean! At least I explained myself which is more than you ever did when you bailed on us!" Eddie retorted as Peter scoffed.
"You explained yourself that you want to get into a dangerous situation to get footage for your blog? While complaining about Spider-Man putting the city in danger when deep down you don't want him to go away and are thankful! Because it's thanks to Spider-Man that anyone ever cared about your stupid blog in the first place!" Peter snapped back at Eddie who was open mouthed and Mary Jane was silent.
Eddie then went to punch at Peter as he put up a motion as if egging him to do it; Mary Jane then caught' Eddie's fist. "Can you both please calm down..." Mary Jane asked as Eddie tore his fist away from Mary Jane.
"We both have bad dads and we bonded over studying and bro bailing on us. I thought we could have something deeper but you chose his side over me..." Eddie snapped as he then ran out and Peter then stared at Mary Jane.
"Sorry MJ but I am not in the mood to study some more..." Peter said as he then went to leave as well. Maybe he could vent up the frustration building up deep within him by punching Octavius.
Eddie ran out of the apartment in a huff and noticed the bottle in his jacket; he decided that he wanted to forget this and opened it up. Ignoring that he wasn't old enough to drink it; he ended up downing it as it felt strong and... It felt like his first hangover was coming...
His arm was caught by a security guard who told him sternly "I saw you on the feed taking that from the Mayor's fridge..."
Eddie in a panic tore his arm free and ran to make a getaway before he would find that for robotic arms guy; hopefully before Spider-Man showed up and was done. He found something opening up their car and ended up pushing past them and took the keys.
He didn't start his lessons but how hard could it be; he then started the car and started feeling the effects of the drink and he felt the car hitting something as he heard someone shout out "kid! Watch out!"
Okay as cliffhangers go... I should note that an alternate title for this set of chapters starting this one can be called: 'The Worst Day of Eddie's Life'. Yeah reworking a detail from Eddie's backstory that was revealed in the Donny Cates run on Venom but don't expect any brother that turns out to be a son in some convoluted series of events.
