Peter woke up the next morning feeling quite refreshed; a rest during his sleep felt exactly what he needed. He thought to what happened yesterday... His new black suit from TriCorp wasn't some sort of nanomachine marvel fo science but a dangerous alien that was influencing his mind and emotions...
What he said to MJ and Eddie and how he acted towards them... How he wanted to let Doc Ock hold Fisk hostage... He should apologise to them today... Would Eddie even be in school today considering what had happened... He didn't help Eddie's mood but what he did was reckless and... He felt his complicated feelings about his lifelong friend out..
He got dressed and got to his phone and found Mary Jane's number upon going to his contact list; better get this out of the way. Mary Jane answered it and she said in a shaken voice "Oh... Morning Peter... How are you feeling?"
Peter shook his head at her trying to be polite and replied "MJ... I'm sorry for how I acted yesterday... I was being a jerk and... I know what Eddie did but..."
"It's fine Peter but..." Mary Jane replied as Peter shook his head once more.
"It's not... We can talk more at school and I can apologise to your face..." Peter said as there was silence on the phone which had him confused and concerned. "Earth to MJ..." Peter asked.
"...You don't know yet... Do you Pete?" Mary Jane asked as Peter's concern grew and he got out of his room and found May shaken watching the news on the TV, Peter quickly said goodbye to Mary Jane and looked to the TV.
His eyes widened as the on the scene Daily Bugle reporter was in front of Midtown which had a hole in the wall and then showed pictures of the trashed sections inside. The reporter said that it was one places of the rampage of the alien possessed Spider-Man the previous night. Peter was speechless and open mouthed as it then showed phone footage of Venom savagely attacking some robbers.
Then there was phone footage of him being fired upon by PDNY officers and then Venom attacked them and the police vehicles. Plus footage of Venom sending a tendril enveloping the arm up to a police capture and forcibly causing it to crash. Then they put down the number of confirmed fatalities and serious injuries in the previous night so far...
Then it cut to an emergency press conference in front of City Hall where Norman was standing with Yuri; "No one denies the help that Spider-Man has brought to this city with the new breed of super criminals but he has unfortunately become what he has fought... So with a heavy heart; we are putting forth a warrant to Spider-Man and sending out all PDNY officers to take him down by any means necessary..." Norman then said as Peter then ran back to his room.
He was shaken; the black suit was not only still out there but bonded to someone else and causing mayhem. He had Felicia calling him and then answered "Before you ask Felicia; I'm fine physically at least... I know that the black suit is causing destruction with it being pinned on me... I have to track it down and see about destroying it..." Then there was a sigh from Felicia's end.
"Be careful... I saw first hand what you looked like in that thing before we got it off and it wasn't pretty... I don't even know if the new host even WANTS that thing off them..." Felicia said as Peter was silent about this as this was concerning. "Your lizard friend put some sort of super juice into you to make you stronger and... Dad knows who you are..." Felicia then told him and Peter felt that if he was given the super serum that Connors made then that explained how he recovered and he would definitely need it against that thing.
He would deal with his ex's father knowing his identity later.
He changed into his normal Spider-Man suit with his web shooters. He got out of the window as May opened the door to check on him but upon what she witnessed she stared as Peter didn't notice. He then just went through the window as her mouth fell wide open.
Peter couldn't even web sling far as he was tacked without his Spider-Sense going off...
Aaron was up in the morning and definitely shaken when he saw the news and saw that the black suit had found a new host; they should have known better than to not expect the thing to find someone else to latch onto...
He decided to check up on his family and using his Ipad called Miles on a video chat; Miles answered and he looked shaken in the living room as there was Jefferson arguing with his wife Rio. "Miles... Everything alright..." Aaron asked concerned.
"The news said that Spider-Man became a monster and Mum doesn't want Dad to go out... I don't either..." Miles explained as Aaron fully understood.
"Jefferson; you change out of that uniform right now! No way am I letting you get out of work to hunt that thing down!" Rio was heard yelling.
"I have to Rio! I put on this uniform and badge to make the streets, the neighbourhood and the city safe for you, Miles and everyone else! No way can I stand back and let the city be torn to shreds..." Jefferson shouted back.
"I can see that it's a tiring time... Tell your folks I said hi and stay safe and inside Miles... Love you all..." Aaron said giving a smile that dropped as he ended the call. He then got his Prowler suit and gear together; the thing dies today...
From his new hideout Octavius managed to repair any damages to his robotic appendages; hearing about the truth of Spider-Man's new black suit made him realise how fortunate he was to escape while he could. Watching what was done with the suit made him as horrified as he was amazed. If only he could study such a thing...
Still he and Gargan would take advantage of the shaken city with the resources focusing on hunting down Spider-Man; they would perform their breakout on Stryker's Island. He had heard about the recent breakout of the infamous Frank Castle and while the improvements were impressive for normal prisons; they were no match for his intellect.
Gargan would be given his assignments as he would give him the opportunity. Sneaking off through a secret entrance to the room with the security monitors; hacking into their systems was no challenge for a mind like his.
"If Spider-Man gets brought in; you think that we can even contain him in here?" asked one of the guards monitoring the feed on the monitors as Octavius then used his robotic arms to knock them out.
He looked to the monitors and using the computers; was easily able to find the main prisoners' files including where each prisoner was staying. "I'm in Gargan. I am now sending you the cells to find Beck and Toomes. But first..." Octavius said as he then used the system to find the temporary cell that they had O'Hirn in; using special cuffs that was generating an EMP field to disable his suit. "Now Gargan! Now here is the location of Dillon..." Octavius said and watched as Gargan sneaked his way to where Dillon as being stored.
Placed in a water tank where there was equipment to study him and his powers; Gargan got in and used his tail to break the tank and got Dillon out. "Now get Dillon to the power generator and then proceed to free the others." Octavius then ordered and he knew that Gargan could take care of the guards. O'Hirn would get out and cause the distraction for Gargan to find who they were after and he would go to where they were keeping possessions of the prisoners.
He already had Gargan sneak his way to the evidence lock-up of the PDNY. He had already claimed a ship for the 6 to make their escape...
Peter got up and found himself stuck black goo on the wall of some basement. He was met with Venom and glared hard at the monster; "So you found someone else to take over... Does those teeth grow out of you because gross..." Peter quipped but then the face peeled back to reveal Eddie. "Eddie... What... No... You..." Peter asked stunned as Eddie laughed.
"Surprised bro? I asked God for an answer and the Lord sent me this after you discarded it... I can't believe that you would do such a thing with the power that it gives... This is the first time since I've even uncovered my faces ever since I fully transformed... After paying a visit to my home... This is where we are..." Eddie taunted as Peter was stunned.
"Eddie... Listen... I'm sorry for being a jerk but you have to take the suit off... It's dangerous and it messes with your head... Amps up your negative emotions..." Peter said as Eddie grew angry.
"You have no right to lecture me Pete! All this time... I thought that you had my back as Spider-Man made a fool out of me... He humiliated me all this time and you have been him this entire time! What kind of friend are you?" Eddie demanded as Peter was silent for a minute.
"Sorry Eddie but I had to protect my identity... You saw what happened when you claimed that Flash was Spider-Man... Criminals came to our school to kill him..." Peter said as Eddie scoffed.
"The superhero comic nonsense... Grow up Pete... You know you have had this power in you and the fame of your other self and it was thanks to me... It was because of me that you were bitten... You got all that and this is how you repaid me! You ruined my life!" Eddie snapped at him and something filled up with Peter's claims.
His frustrations with Eddie; they were there already and the symbiote let it all out.
"You ruined your own life! I'm sorry for being a jerk but you were the one who was careless and invaded Flash's privacy to support your claims! You got drunk and almost killed a kid! You have almost got me into trouble so many times during the years!" Peter snapped back as Eddie stared at him. It felt good for Peter to get that off his chest but still... He was afraid as he was at Eddie's mercy.
"So the truth comes out... You always hated me just like Dad did..." Eddie said shaking his head as Peter stared at him. "You love being a hero so much... I'm going to start by ruining it for you... You are gonna stay here as I make sure that no one will ever look up to you or call you a hero ever again... They will see the monster Spider-Man wrecking havoc..." Eddie told him as he then formed the head of Venom again and then left.
Peter was stuck there and wondered about if he could have stopped this... The guilt of...
He had to face the facts that he was trying all these years to ignore; Eddie was already an entitled self-centred friend for a long time and the symbiote enhancing his negative qualities...
He had to be stopped and used his newly increased strength and focused hard... He then broke free!
He forced his way through the basement and saw that the house he was in was barely standing... Was this Eddie's house... He looked ready to puke as he found stuck on a wall was the body of Carl and...
It looked like his death wasn't painless at all and made him want to puke...
He then saw the roof collapsed underneath Eddie's room and found a broken framed picture of the two of them when they were kids. "...Sorry Eddie but you are far too dangerous with that thing stuck to you..." Peter said as he had to hunt Venom down and find a way to put an end to the alien symbiote for good...
Yes Venom plans to take advantage of the fact that as far as the public and officials are concerned; it's still Spider-Man in the black suit so that he can destroy his reputation. Kind of like when Venom pretended to be Black Suit Spider-Man in Spectacular Spider-Man only worse with what he is doing. Had this as my plan since early in the story; possibly right as I was starting to write this fic. Was wanting to set it up with how at times I've written Eddie to as at least one review pointed out: sound like he's a teenage Billy Butcher.
