Here's the second part of the double release. The duel between Yuuji, Yuto, and Yugo.
And with this chapter comes a question I want to ask you, the reader.

"I'll start!" Yugo declared as he drove forward on his Duel Runner. "When I control no monster on my field, I can Special Summon Speedroid Terrortop (Wind/Machine/Effect/ATK: 1200/DEF: 600/LV: 3) from my hand!"
Flying red disks with blades all connected in a line appeared.
"Next, I summon the Level 3 Tuner Monster Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice (Wind/Machine/Tuner/Effect/ATK: 300/DEF: 1500/LV: 3) from my hand!"
A floating metal pyramid monster with painted eyes appeared on the field.
"Now I tune the Level 3 Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice to my Speedroid Terrortop!" Yugo announced as his monsters transformed into green rings and orbs, lining up together in a line as he began chanting. "Cross-shaped magical sword, slice all your enemies with your power! Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 6! Hi-Speedroid Kendama (Wind/Machine/Synchro/Effect/ATK: 2200/DEF: 1600/LV: 6)!"
A machine monster shaped like a lance with curved sections that split off from the center appeared.
"A Synchro Summon?" Yuuji gasped. "Does this mean that there is a Synchro Dimension as well?"
"I activate Kendama's effect!" Yugo declared. "Once per turn, by banishing a Speedroid monster from my graveyard, I can deal 500 points of damage to both of you!"
Two blue beams of energy are shot out from the machine monster. Yuuji and Yuto start running, narrowly escaping the blasts.

"I set two cards and end my turn," Yugo concluded.
"Then it's my turn! Draw!" Yuto drew a card. "I summon The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves (Dark/Warrior/Effect/ATK: 1000/DEF: 500/LV: 3)"
A towering monster emerged, its large metal arms gleaming with a blue hue, revealing a blue flame-like body flickering within its armored shell.
"When there's a Level 3 Phantom Knight on my field, I can Special Summon The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots (Dark/Warrior/Effect/ATK: 200/DEF: 1200/LV: 3) from my hand." This time, a blue spirit with a black cloak surrounding it appeared on Yuto's field. "I now overlay my Level 3 The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves and Silent Boots!"
His two monsters transform into energy as they are absorbed into a galaxy vortex.
"The souls of the fallen knights on the battlefield, resurrect and become the light that cuts through the darkness!" Yuto chanted. "Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 3! The Phantom Knights of Break Sword (Dark/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/ATK: 2000/DEF: 1000/R: 3/OU: 2)!"
A headless, humanoid armored monster on top of a metallic mount, with a giant greatsword in its hand and blue flames erupting from the open sections of its body, appeared on Yuto's field.
"Ragged Gloves effect now activates!" Yuto announced. "When an Xyz Monster uses Ragged Gloves as material, for the rest of the turn, they gain 1000 ATK!"
The blade on Yuto's monster begins to glow purple.
(The Phantom Knights of Break Sword — ATK: 2000 → 3000)
"Now it has a higher attack than Kendama…" Yugo frowned as he rode around the stage.
"Battle!" Yuto shouts as he runs after Yuto. "Break Sword, attack his Kendama!"
Break Sword gallops towards Yugo's monster, slicing cleanly through it and creating a shockwave that caused the riding duelist to wince a bit as his Life Points dropped.
Yugo — LP: 4000 → 3200
"I set two cards and end my turn, and with the end of my turn, Break Sword's ATK returns to normal (The Phantom Knights of Break Sword — ATK: 3000 → 2000)," Yuto then turned to Yuuji, "It's your turn."
"Wait, I have a question before I start, why are you two fighting in the first place?" Yuuji asked. "I don't see why Synchro and Xyz would be fighting when the main threat is this Academia?"
"It's cause he's the bastard that took Rin!"
"He's the one who kidnapped Ruri!"
The two shout at the same time, both accusing the other of kidnapping each other's girls.
So, it's just a misunderstanding? Yuuji thought. Wait, maybe not? I'm not sure at this point. However, for now, I don't plan on taking any sides.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuuji drew a card. "I set the Pendulum Scale with the Scale 2 Antique Silver Rake and the Scale 8 Maiden of Broken Mirrors in my hand!"
Yuuji placed the two cards on opposite sides of his duel blade, with the words [PENDULUM] appearing between them as his two monsters rose into each Pendulum Zone.
"Pendulum?" Yugo wondered. "What the hell is that?"
"..." Yuto remained silent, having already seen the summoning method earlier on.
"Next, I summon the Tuner Monster, Antique Resonance Mirror (Light/Fairy/Tuner/Pendulum/Effect/ATK: 0/ DEF: 0/ LV: 2/SC: 4)!"
A pristine-looking mirror appeared on Yuuji's field.
"When this monster is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon another Antique Monster from my deck to my field!" Yuuji announced. "Appear now, Antique Crystal Lamp (Light/Fairy/Pendulum/Effect/ATK: 0/DEF: 0/LV: 5/SC: 1)!"
A blue, pristine lamp made of several crystals appeared on Yuuji's field.
"When this monster is Special Summoned from my deck, I can add 1 Rank-Up-Magic from my deck to my hand!"
"Rank-Up-Magic?" Yuto was shocked. "But only members of the resistance would have that…"
"Next, I tune my Level 2 Antique Resonance Mirror with my Level 5 Antique Crystal Lamp!" Yuuji announced as his two monsters transformed into rings and orbs respectively, lining up as he began chanting.
"Brilliant dragon that rides through sonic winds," Yuuji chanted, "Descend from the clouds and ravage all who stand before you! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Level 7! Clear Wing Fast Dragon (Wind/Dragon/Synchro/Pendulum/Effect/ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/LV: 7/SC: 4)!"
Appearing on the field was a brilliant flying dragon with shining white scales with green gemstones sticking out from parts of its body.
"That looks just like my Clear Wing…" Yugo's eyes widened.
"Maiden of Broken Mirror's effect now activates!" Yuuji announced. "When a Pendulum Monster is Synchro, Xyz, or Fusion Summoned onto my field, I can draw 1 card!"
Yuuji drew a card.
"Now, with my currently set Pendulum Scale, I can summon monsters Levels 3 through 7 all at the same time!" Yuuji declared. "Shine, Pendulum of Destiny! Draw an arc across the ether, and reflect onto me a path to victory! Pendulum Summon! Return from my Extra Deck, Antique Crystal Lamp (ATK: 0/DEF: 0/LV: 5)!"
The crystal lamp appeared on Yuuji's field once again.
"I now activate Maiden of Broken Mirror's other effect, allowing me to make the Level of a monster on my field equal to that of another!" Yuuji shouts. "I choose to make Crystal Lamp's level equal to that of Clear Wing Fast Dragon!"
(Crystal Lamp — LV: 5 → 7)
"I now overlay my now Level 7 Antique Crystal Lamp!" Yuuji announced.
"But you're only using one monster, how is that possible?" Yugo asked.
"Crystal Lamp is treated as two materials when used for an Xyz Summon," Yuuji stated as his monster was absorbed into a galaxy vortex. "Cruel black dragon relentless in its slaughter. I now call upon one of the most dangerous of dragons! Xyz Summon! Appear now, Rank 7! Dark Anthelion Dragon (Dark/Dragon/Xyz/Pendulum/Effect/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500/R: 7/SC: 10/OU: 1)!"
A black dragon with an armor-like body and large, jagged wings extending from its back appeared.
"Now it's a dragon that looks like Dark Anthelion?" Yuto said.
"Once again, Maiden of Broken Mirror's effect activates, allowing me to draw 1 card." Yuuji drew another card. "Then I activate Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect, allowing me to target 1 monster my opponent summoned from the Extra Deck, lower its ATK to 0, and negate its effects while it's face up on the field! I choose to target your Break Sword, Yuto!"
Clear Wing Fast Dragon begins to glow, using its power to restrain Break Sword.
(Break Sword — ATK: 2000 → 0)
"I hope you both are ready, I'll be attacking both of you with my full force!" Yuuji smiled as he moved into his Battle Phase, "Battle! Clear Wing Fast Dragon, attack Yuto's Break Sword! Whirlwind Sonic Driver!"
Clear Wing Fast Dragon soars into the air, erupting into a green light as it flies toward Yuto's monster. It crashed into the metallic warrior, destroying it and creating a giant shockwave that caused Yuto to fly back a few meters.
Yuto — LP: 3500 → 1000
"When Break Sword is destroyed, I can Special Summon the monsters used as materials for it as Level 4 Monsters!" Yuto declared. "Appear, Ragged Gloves (ATK: 1000/DEF: 500/LV: 3) and Silent Boots (ATK: 200/DEF: 1200/LV: 3) in defense mode!"
Yuto's two monsters return to his field.
"Now for you, Yugo!" Yuuji turned his attention to the riding duelist, who had just completed another run around the center of the park. "Dark Anthelion Dragon attacks you directly! Dark Annihilation!"
Dark Anthelion charged up a massive ball of dark energy, hurling it at the riding duelist who begins to drift as one of his set cards is flipped up.
"I won't let you!" Yugo counters. "I activate one of my set traps, Speedroid Acceleration! When my opponent declares a direct attack, I can immediately end the Battle Phase, and Special Summon a Speedroid Monster from my graveyard. I choose to summon Hi-Speeedroid Kendama (ATK: 2200/DEF: 1600/LV: 6)!"
A barrier appears around Yugo, protecting him from Dark Anthelion's attack, as his formerly destroyed Synchro Monster returns to his field.
"So you had a counter to that," Yuuji smiled, "I set two cards and end my turn."
"Then it's my turn! Draw!" Yugo drifted around the corner as he began his turn. "I summon Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice (Wind/Machine/Tuner/Effect/ATK: 100/DEF: 100/LV: 1)!"
A yellow eyes with art depicting eyes on each of its sides appeared.
"I now tune my Level 1 Red-Eyed Dice to my Level 6 Kendama!"
Yugo's two monsters transform into rings and orbs that line up together in a straight line, creating a pillar of green light as he begins chanting.
"Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings, and strike down your enemies at the speed of light! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (Wind/Dragon/Synchro/Effect/ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/LV: 7)!"
A magnificent dragon adorned in gleaming white and blue scales, with crystal-green wings flaring from its back, appeared on Yugo's field. Simultaneously, Yuuji, Yuto, and Yugo all began clutching their chests.
"What the hell?" Yuuji gritted his teeth. "What is this feeling?"
A deep, unsettling darkness began to stir within him, an ominous feeling he could barely keep at bay. Though manageable for now, a gnawing concern crept into his mind—it felt as though this darkness was only the beginning and would soon spiral beyond his control. To make matters even stranger, Clear Wing Fast Dragon, and Dark Anthelion unleashed hateful, guttural roars toward Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, who responded with an equally furious roar.
"I activate the Equip Spell, Synchron Booster!" Yugo announced, trying to ignore the pain in his chest. "When it's equipped to a Synchro Monster I control, it gains 500 ATK and DEF for each Synchro Monster on my field! Also, it cannot be destroyed by battle!"
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon — ATK: 2500 → 3000, DEF: 2000 → 2500)
"Battle!" Yugo accelerated towards Yuuji as he began his battle phase. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, attack his cheap imitation of you! Whirlwind Hell Dive Slasher!"
The dragon's wings erupted into a green light as it soared into the air, a green whirlwind of winds surrounded the dragon as it flew down toward Yuuji's Synchro Dragon.
"I activate Clear Wing Fast Dragon's effect!" Yuuji shouts. "Once per turn, I can target one of my opponent's monsters that was summoned from the Extra Deck, negate its effect, and reduce its attack to zero!"
Clear Wing Fast Dragon's green crystals began to glow as it tried to trap Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with its energy.
"Naive!" Yuto stated. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect now activates! When a Level 5 or higher monster activates an effect, I can negate the activation of the effect, destroy that monster, and Clear Wing gains the ATK of the destroyed monster until the end of this turn!"
"What!?" Yuuji cried out as Clear Wing Synchro Dragon flew straight through his dragon, destroying it and sending him flying. It then loops back into the air, surrounding itself in a green whirlwind and it powered up.

"Now go Clear Wing Fast Dragon, attack and destroy Dark Anthelion Dragon!" Yugo commanded as his dragon dove down towards Yuuji's other dragon.
"Like I'll let you do that!" Yuuji declared. "Dark Anthelion Dragon's effect now activates! By detaching one Overlay Unit, I can half the ATK of one monster on the field, and give that lost ATK to Dark Anthelion! I choose to reduce your Clear Wing's ATK!"
(Dark Anthelion Dragon — OU: 1 → 0)
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon — ATK: 5500 → 2750)
(Dark Anthelion Dragon — ATK: 3000 → 5750)
Dark Anthelion powers up, catching Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with its arms—stopping its attack.
"I activate my set trap, Dicatadium of Fate!" Yugo announced. "With it, I can target a monster on the field and target it with an effect depending on the number I roll with my dice! The target I choose for this effect is Dark Anthelion!"
Fiendish creatures appear around both Yugo and Dark Anthelion. One of the creatures then places a die in Yugo's hand.
"By rolling a 1, 3, or 5, I can destroy the targeted monster," Yugo explained, "However if I roll a 2, 4, or 6, the targeted monster gains 1000 ATK instead!"
"Banking it all on chance?" Yuuji's eyes widened. "Why would you take such a risk?"
"If the damage goes through, I lose the duel anyway," Yugo stated as he accelerated towards a ramp, "However, by leaving it up to luck, I can pave a path to a future where I don't!"
Yugo leaped over the ramp, his movements fluid and daring as he tossed the dice high into the air. Time seemed to slow momentarily, the dice spinning in midair before hitting the ground with a sharp clatter. It rolled across the surface, each bounce heightening the anticipation, until it finally came to a stop—landing on a 1.
"Yosh!" Yugo pumped his fist in the air. "That means that your Dark Anthelion is now destroyed, allowing my Clear Wing to now attack you directly!"
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon is freed from Dark Anthelion's grasp as the dragon suddenly vanishes, leaving its path wide open towards Yuuji.
"I activate my Continuous Trap, Halve Attack!" Yuuji shouts. "While this card remains on the field, the damage I receive from attacks is halved!"
"But you still take damage!" Yugo declared as Yuuji is hit by Clear Wing's attack, being sent flying into a lamp post which knocked the wind out of him.
Yuuji — LP: 3500 → 2125
"With that, I end my turn!" Yugo concluded as Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's attack returned to normal.
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon — ATK: 2750 → 3000)
"Damn…" Yuuji cursed as he struggled to get back on his feet. "He's good; he managed to wipe out my monsters like it was nothing."
Now, aside from his current face-up Continuous Trap, he no longer had any defenses. This position could get dicey if Yuto focused his attention on him. His set trap wasn't exactly useful to him when it came to defending himself.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuto began his turn. "I overlay my now Level 4 The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves and Silent Boots!"
Yuto's two monsters are absorbed into a galaxy vortex as Yuto begins chanting.
"Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose it with its treacherous fangs! Xyz Summon! Now descend, Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (Dark/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/R: 4/OU: 2)!"
A menacing dragon with dark purple scales, silver spikes, and sharp wings, with a red core at its center plated in armor appeared on the field.
"Gah!" Yugo clutched his chest as his eyes began glowing blue.
"What's happening?" Yuto clutched his chest as well as his eyes began glowing purple.
"What the hell!?" Yuuji clutched his chest as his eyes began flickering from being normal to glowing yellow. In his hand, Nirvana Crest Ritual Dragon was glowing, drawing his attention to it.
{WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!}
The monitor began blaring a warning message as the personnel frantically tried and search for the cause.
"What's happening?" Nakajima asked.
"A high amount of summoning energy is being accumulated at Central Park!" The personnel informed. "Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum!"
"That's where Yuto is!" Shun flared up as he immediately tried to leave the office—
"—You stay where you are, Kurosaki Shun." Akaba Reiji coldly demanded, surprising the Xyz Duelist. "As I've said before, I can't have you go out there and risk the cancellation of the tournament."
"You want me to just sit there while my best friend is out there potentially fighting Academia!?" Shun scowled. "I refuse to leave my comrade alone out there against a threat like the Pawn of Fusion!"
"You do not have a choice in this matter," Reiji stated as he stood up, turning to one of the personnel who was controlling a remote, "Have you managed to get the drone out to the air."
"Yes sir! Connecting drone camera to the monitor now!"
The blank monitor began projecting a video. In it, they could see three duelists in a standoff. The most surprising thing of all was the fact that all three of them shared the same face. They all were screaming out in pain as their body all had similar, unnatural reactions. A dark aura was emanating from them, with each of their eyes glowing eerily.
"What the hell happened while the feed was off?" Reiji frowned.
Yuya was running alone around the outskirts of Central Park. He had decided to split off from Yuzu earlier to cover more ground, finding himself drawn to this area. He clutched his chest, which began beating heavier and heavier the closer he inched to the park.
He pulled out his deck, which was glowing. When he went to search for the source of the light, he found Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon glowing vibrantly.
"...What the hell is happening?" Yuya frowned.
"I activate Dark Rebellion's effect!" Yuto declared. "By detaching one Overlay Unit, I can target 1 monster on your field, halving its ATK, and giving that attack directly to Dark Rebellion! Treason Discharge!"
The wings on Dark Rebellion open up, emitting a charge of electricity that surrounds Clear Wing and saps its ATK away while revitalizing Dark Rebellion.
(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon — OU: 2 → 1)
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon — ATK: 3000 → 1500)
(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon — ATK: 2500 → 4000)
"Like that'll matter!" Yugo shouts. "You won't be able to destroy my monster with ATK like that, and you sure as hell won't be able to reduce my Life Points to zero!"
"Is that what you think?" The darkness around Yuto flared up, "I'll pay you back for all of the sufferings you've caused me, Pawn of Fusion! I activate Dark Rebellion's effect again, reducing your Monster's ATK even further! Treason Discharge!"
Once again, Dark Rebellion's effect activates, sapping even more of Clear Wing's ATK.

(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon — ATK: 4000 → 4750)
"Yuto…is acting different…" Yuuji muttered as he struggled to retain his sanity. "Could he have…fallen to their weird darkness that's welling in our hearts?"
"Now it's time for me to completely eradicate you!" Yuto declared. "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, attack Clear Wing and wipe out his Life Points! Lightning Disobey of Rebellion!"
Dark Rebellion's tusk began to glow as it dived towards Clear Wing who fought back against the dragon with all its force. However, it proved too weak, being overpowered completely.
"I…activate my Trap Card, Last Minute Offering!" Yuuji declared. "When this card is activated, I can target 1 face-up card I control and give it to one of my opponents! I choose to give my Continuous Trap Card, Halve Attack to Yugo!"
Yuuji's trap card is transported to Yugo's field right before Dark Rebellion's attack connects, and while it didn't protect Yugo from all of the damage, it did prevent him from being taken out of the duel.
Yugo — LP: 3000 → 1000
"..." Yuto was silent for a moment at his failed attack. "...I end my turn."
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon's ATK returned to normal.
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon — ATK: 750 → 3000)
(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon — ATK: 4750 → 2500)
"Why would he make a play like that!? If he hadn't done that, the Pawn of Fusion would've been defeated!" Shun angrily shouted. "Could he be working for the enemy?"
"Didn't you hear what Shuinin Sora said before he was forcefully transported?" Reiji said. "Haruki Yuuji had a hit on him from Academia, he can't be allied with them."
"Then what other reason would he have?"
"I wouldn't know the answer to that," Reiji stated, "This is beyond my calculations as well. The only person who could know the answer is Haruki Yuuji himself."
"Why did I do that…?" Yuuji muttered as he thought about what he had just done. "It's almost as if my body had moved on instinct there."
If he hadn't decided to do that, Yugo would've lost the duel by now, which should be a good thing…right? Wait, no…it wouldn't be. But why?
…
He didn't know why he did it, but he felt like if he had let that attack go through, only bad things could come from that—
"Gah!" The pain in Yuuji's chest flared up again, a subconscious command within his body forcing his hand to the top of his deck.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuuji drew a card. It was Dawn of the Crest. Which meant that now he could summon the Nirvana Crest Ritual Dragon that was in his hand.
Nirvana Crest began glowing vibrantly in his hand as if hypnotizing Yuuji into using it.
"I…" Yuuji tried to speak but suddenly stopped himself. "No, I can't…I shouldn't. He would come back if I did. The world will be lost once again."
Yuuji had no idea what he was saying right now, but those words seemed to snap him out of his daze, giving him enough clarity to continue his turn.
"Using my currently set Pendulum Scale, I Pendulum Summon!" Yuuji announced as three energies appeared from a portal that opened between the Pendulum Zones. "Return from my Extra Deck, Clear Wing Fast Dragon (ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/LV: 7), Dark Anthelion Dragon (ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500/R: 7/OU: 0), and Antique Crystal Lamp (ATK: 0/DEF: 0/LV: 5) in defense mode!"
Yuuji's monsters swarm his field once again. When Yuuji's two dragons appeared on the field, the darkness within his heart began to subside just a little bit.
"Crystal Lamp is treated as two monsters when used for an Xyz Summon," Yuuji stated. "Now, with my Level 5 Antique Crystal Lamp, I construct the Overlay Network!"
Yuuji's monster is absorbed into a galaxy vortex as he begins chanting.
"An antidote lost through time. Appear once again, and bring about your legacy! Xyz Summon! Come forth, Rank 5! Antique Healing Remedy (Light/Fairy/Xyz/Effect/ATK: 0/DEF: 0/R: 5/OU: 1)!"
Appearing on his field was a floating assortment of syringes that contained many colorful solutions inside.
"Battle!" Yuuji moved into his battle phase. "Dark Anthelion Dragon, attack Yuto's Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! Dark Annihilation!"
"I activate my Continuous Trap Card, Phantom Knights' Fog Blade!" Yuto countered. "With it, I can negate your attack, as well as any further attacks and any use of effects from that monster."
A purple fog blade appeared; its essence spreading around Dark Anthelion and leaving it immobile.
"Tch." Yuuji clicked his tongue. "I set a card, and end my turn."
"Then it's my turn! Draw!" Yugo drew a card as the darkness surrounding him flared up. He began driving his Duel Runner straight towards Yuto. "Battle! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! Whirlwind Hell Dive Slasher!"
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon soars into the air, erupting in a brilliant green light as it descends towards Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon. At the same time, Yugo attempts to ram into Yuto, who narrowly dodges the advance.

"I set a card and end my turn!" Yugo concludes.
"My turn! Draw!" Yuto drew a card. "I summon The Phantom Knights of Valiant Stories (Dark/Warrior/Effect/ATK: 500/DEF: 700/LV: 2)!"
A cloaked being holding an old book appeared on the field.
"Valiant Stories' effect activates!" Yuto announced. "When it is summoned while I control a The Phantom Knights' card, I get to draw one card for each The Phantom Knights' card on my field!"
Yuto drew two cards.
"Now I overlay the Level 2 The Phantom Knights of Valiant Stories with Lost Vambrace!" Yuto declared as his two monsters are absorbed into a galaxy vortex. "Piercing through ten thousand warriors, the cursed spear of rebellion entombed in darkness, descend now! Xyz Summon! Come forth, Rank 2! The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin (Dark/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/ATK: 1600/DEF: 0/R: 2/OU: 2)!"
A skeleton warrior holding a bone shield and javelin appeared.
"Cursed Javelin's effect now activates!" Yuto announced. "By detaching one Overlay Unit, I can one monster on the field, reduce its attack to zero, and negate its effects! I choose to target Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"
Lightning is shot from Yuto's monster's javelin, surrounding Clear Wing.
"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect now activates!" Yugo announced. "When a Level 5 Monster is targeted by a monster's effect, I can negate that effect, destroy that monster, and increase my monster's ATK by the ATK of the destroyed monster!"
Clear Wing Synchro Dragon shrugs off the lightning, creating a whirlwind that destroys Yuto's Xyz Monster.

"Fine then, how about this," The darkness around Yuto erupted once again as he spoke. "I activate the Spell Card, The Phantom Knights' Rank-Up-Magic Launch! Targeting my Dark Rebellion, I can Special Summon a monster from my Extra Deck 1 Rank higher, using both it and this card as material! With my Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, I construct the Overlay Network!"
Yuto's dragon roars as it is converted into energy and absorbed into the galaxy vortex. A giant pillar of light erupted from the vortex's center, causing the ground around to shake.
"From the depths of purgatory," Yuto chanted, "Dedicate to the unsinking souls your song of rebellion as you become reborn once forth! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Appear, Rank 5! Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon (Dark/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500/R: 5/OU: 2)!"
A dragon similar to Dark Rebellion appeared on the field. However, its wings looked like stained glass, with a variety of colors making it up which shone brightly. The rage within the dragon oozed out of it, flaring up Yuto's aura and causing both Yugo and Yuuji to clutch their chests as the pain grew.
At the same time, Yuya finally arrives at the scene, clutching his chest in the same way as his eye was glowing an eerie red.
"Yuya?" Yuuji was surprised at the sudden arrival of his friend.
"Yuuji…what's going…on?" Yuya struggled to ask as he clutched his pained chest.
"I'm…not sure myself," Yuuji replied, "All I know is that weird things are happening to those who look the same as us."
At the same time, in the Fusion Dimension…
A purple-haired teen in a similar colored uniform leaned on a wall outside of a classroom, putting a hand over his chest. Though he wasn't feeling pain, he felt something in that area. In his hand was a monster card, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon—glowing brightly.
"How interesting…" The teen smiled. "You must be hungry Starving Venom. But don't worry, the time will come for you to feast soon enough."
"I activate Dark Requirem Xyz Dragon's effect!" Yuto shouts. "Targeting Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, I can reduce its ATK to 0, and increase Dark Requiem's ATK by the original ATK of Clear Wing! Requiem Salvation!"
(Dark Requiem — OU: 2 → 1)
Dark tendrils appeared from the orbs on Dark Requiem's body, threatening to trap Clear Wing.
"Naive!" Yugo states. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates once again, negating your effect and destroying your monster!"
Clear Wing begins to glow, sending a whirlwind that clashes with Dark Requiem's tendrils.
"Dark Requiem's second effect now activates!" Yuto declared. "When an effect is activated that would destroy a monster, I can detach another Overlay Unit from it, negating that effect, and Special Summoning an Xyz Monster from my graveyard! Using this effect, rise once again, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/R: 4/OU: 0)!"

Dark Rebellion returns to the field. At the same time, Dark Requiem's dark tendrils break through the whirlwind made by Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, draining it of its ATK.

"5500 ATK!?" Yuya exclaimed.
"..." Yugo furrowed his eyebrows.
"Now battle!" Yuto shouts. "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, attack Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and annihilate him! Lightning Disobey of Rebellion!"
Dark Rebellion flies forward, its tusk beginning to glow as it dove toward Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
"I activate my set trap, Speedroid Last Stand!" Yugo shouts. "By banishing a Speedroid Monster from my graveyard, I can reduce the battle damage I receive from an attack to 0!"
Dark Rebellion's attack is blocked by a barrier that protects Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and Yugo.
"That changes nothing!" Yuto angrily shouts as Dark Requiem soars into the sky, the panels under its wing expanding as it illuminates the night sky with a light as bright as the sun. "Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon now attacks you! Disaster Disobey of Souls' Repose!"
Dark Requiem's tusk begins to glow as it dives down towards Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. At that moment, Yuuji's facedown is flipped up.
"I activate the Trap Card, Battle Redirection!" Yuuji announced. "With it, I can force an attacking monster to battle a monster on my field. I choose for it to target Antique Healing Remedy!"
As if pulled by a mysterious force, Dark Requiem is pulled toward Yuuji's Xyz Monster.
"What are you doing Yuuji?" Yuya worriedly asked. "You'll surely lose if this attack connects."
"Not when I activate Antique Healing Remedy's effect!" Yuuji declared. "By detaching its only Overlay Unit, I can negate an attack that targets this card, and increase my Life Points by half the ATK of the attacking monster!"
A barrier appears around Yuuji, protecting him from Dark Requiem's deadly attack and healing him.

"Damn you," The possessed Yuto cursed at the grey-haired duelist, "I end my turn."
Dark Requiem and Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK return to normal.

I've managed to prevent them from destroying each other once again. Yuuji thought. But now what? How am I supposed to stop this bad thing from happening, when I don't even know what it is I'm trying to stop?
Maybe he should try and destroy both of their dragons. The three of them started going berserk the moment those two dragons hit the field, so the opposite should be true when they leave, right?
But how?
Maybe Nirvana Crest… Yuuji thought as his hands inched closer to his ace. No…I can't. I have to find a way other than him.
"Gah!" Yuuji cried out in pain as his chest began tightening again. All of their dragons let out a roar at the same time, which reverberated through the area—intensifying the pain that the four lookalikes felt.
Okay, he should just start his turn, and figure things out after.
"My turn. Draw!" Yuuji drew a card—

Yuuji felt his chest beat. However, surprisingly enough, it wasn't a painful one. In his head, the image of a new dragon appeared in his mind, with the Rank-Up-Magic he had drawn thanks to Crystal Lamp's effect all the way back at the start of the duel glowing brightly.
That's…odd. Yuuji thought. But, compared to everything else that's been happening recently, this is probably the most welcome change.
"Let's see what this can do…" Yuuji smiled. "I activate the Quick-Play-Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Pendulum Ascension! With it, I can target a Pendulum Xyz Monster on my field, then Special Summon 1 Pendulum Xyz Monster from my Extra Deck that is 1 Rank higher, using both this card and that monster as materials!"
"He's using a Rank-Up Spell!?" Shun's eyes widened in shock.
Reiji had a more neutral expression on his face, though upon closer inspection, a small smile formed on his face as he watched the events unfold.
"With my Dark Anthelion Dragon, I construct the Overlay Network!"
Dark Anthelion Dragon roars proudly as it's converted into energy and absorbed into the galaxy vortex. A pillar of light shoots out of it, causing the area to shake as Yuuji begins chanting.
"The sovereign of the lunar moon," Yuuji chanted, "Bring judgment upon the fallen! Defy fate as you pave a path to a better future! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Come forth, Rank 8! Dark Eclipse Anthelion Dragon (Dark/Dragon/Xyz/Pendulum/Effect/ATK: 3300/DEF: 2800/R: 8/SC: 11/OU: 2)!"
The vortex suddenly disappeared from the ground, reappearing in the sky like a second moon, as a giant, black dragon with glowing blue, jagged wings, slowly emerged from the portal. An aurora begins forming in the night sky, illuminated the area with a beautiful hue.
"A new monster?" Yuya gasped as he stared at the new dragon in awe. The pain in his chest faded from the presence of the dragon.
"Since I've Xyz Summoned a Pendulum Monster, I get to draw 1 card."
Yuuji drew a card.
"Then, I activate Dark Eclipse Anthelion Dragon's effect," Yuuji stated, "By detaching one Overlay Unit, I can decrease the ATK of all monsters on the field by half, and increase my monster's ATK by that amount! Eclipse Impulse!"
Dark Eclipse's body began to flicker with blue lightning, sections of its wings expanding as it prepared to use its effect.

"Are you an idiot!?" Yugo shouted. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates, since you targeted a Level 5 or higher monster with an effect, I can use my dragon's effect to negate that effect and destroy your monster."
"That's where you wrong!" Yuuji claps back. "Dark Eclipse's effect does not target, meaning your monster's effect is useless!"
Dark Eclipse sends its blue lightning straight toward every monster on the field, sapping them all of their strength.

"..." Yuto furrowed his eyebrows
"Battle! Dark Eclipse Anthelion Dragon, finish this duel!" Yuuji announced as his dragon soared into the air, charging a giant ball of energy from the core on its chest. "And at this time, Dark Eclipse's effect now activates. By detaching another Overlay Unit, it can make a second attack during the Battle Phase!"
[What!?] Yuto and Yugo exclaimed.
"Now for the climax!" Yuuji pumped his fist forward. "Dark Eclipse attacks the both of you! Dark Supernova!"
Dark Eclipse erupts into blue light, channeling that energy into the giant ball of energy, hurling it down towards Yuto and Yugo's dragons.
—BOOOOOOOM!
A giant explosion is created from the attack, with the force of the impact sending Yuto and Yugo flying away. A giant crater was formed where the impact zone of the attack was.
Yugo — LP: 950 → 0
Yuto — LP: 1000 → 0

The monsters on Yuuji's field disappear as the pain in his chest subsides—his glowing eyes return to normal. Yuya also shared similar relief, the eerie red glow in his eyes subsiding as well.
"That…was something," Yuuji commented.
"Yeah…I'm too stunned to speak," Yuya said.
"But you just did."
Yuya frowned, "You know what I meant."
Yuto struggled onto his feet, clutching his head.
"What the hell happened?" Yuto muttered.
Yugo had a different reaction. As soon as the riding duelist regained consciousness, he quickly ran to his Duel Runner and tried to see if it was okay. However, once he found that nothing was wrong with it, he sighed a breath of relief.
"Phew. Thank goodness," Yugo smiled as he picked up his Duel Runner. He then turned to his other lookalikes and asked, "Do you guys know what happened? As soon as that bastard summoned his Xyz Dragon, my mind went blank."
[...] The other three remained quiet. Yugo turned to each one of them, expecting an answer, but received no response whatsoever for a moment until Yuuji just shrugged.
"No idea man," Yuuji said, "I'm just as lost as you. But it seems like beating both of you managed to knock you guys out of that weird, rage-filled state of yours."
"Rage-filled state?" Yuto asked. "What do you mean?"
"You don't remember as well?" Yuuji frowned. "You both began attacking each other violently, with the intent to kill each other. If it wasn't for me, one of you might've taken things too far, mainly you Yuto."
"Yuto?" Yuya raised an eyebrow before realizing something. "Wait, he's the one that Yuzu was talking about, right?"
"Yeah," Yuuji nodded, "And the other guy there is Yugo. He's from the Synchro Dimension."
"The Synchro what?"
"Oh, right. You don't know about this yet," Yuuji sighed, "The thing is…"
Yuuji's voice faded out as he suddenly lost consciousness, surprising Yuya.
"Yuuji!" Yuya caught his friend before he fell to the ground. "Hey, wake up! What's gotten into you?"
"He must've exhausted himself from our duel," Yuto stated as he approached. "Especially if what he said was true, he had to use everything he had to keep us away from each other."
"Yeah…" Yuya looked down at his friend with an uneasy expression before turning back to Yuto to ask a question. "Hey, did you happen to see another one of my friends around here?"
"Your friend?"
"Yeah, he's a short guy, around our age, with cyan blue hair and always wearing a blue school uniform. He recently escaped from the hospital and we've been searching around everywhere for him."
"..." Yuto remained silent for a moment before answering. "...Your friend, Sora is gone."
"Gone?" Yuya tensed up, gently placing Yuuji's unconscious body on the ground. "What do you mean? Did you do something to him, just like Kurosaki!?"
"I may have had something to do with it…" Yuto answered. "But your friend isn't who he seems—"
"I don't want to hear it!" Yuya interrupted as he attached his duel disk and activated it. "It doesn't matter who Sora is or what his past with you guys is, he's my friend, and I won't let you get away with hurting him!"
"Fine, we can settle this with a duel," Yuto stated as he activated his own duel disk. "I'm sure it's the only way I can drill the fact that your friend is not as good of a person as you think he is."
"Did you forget about me!?" Yugo shouted as he had already gotten back on his Duel Runner. "You still haven't told me where you're hiding Rin, you bastard!"
"I don't have anything to do with that!" Yuto shouted back. "And you're the one who did the kidnapping. I've never have and never will consider doing such a thing!"
"Like I'll believe you!" Yugo shouted as he revved up his Duel Runner. "I'll defeat you right here, right now, with no other outside interference!"
"Yuya! Sora! Yuuji! Are you guys here!?" A feminine voice shouted in the distance, alerting the three. Soon, a pink light flooded the area, causing both Yuto and Yugo to suddenly vanish.
"Yuzu?" Yuya turned to the source of the light, coming face to face with Yuzu who quickly ran up to him.
"Yuya, did you manage to find Sora?" Yuzu asked before noticing an unconscious Yuuji on the ground. "What happened to him!?"
"He was in a duel…against Yuto and another guy who looked like us called Yugo," Yuya answered, "But, I don't know why it all started, since I only arrived at the end of the duel."
"Yuto was here?" Yuzu gasped. "And another person who looks like you?"
"Yeah, but they disappeared as soon as you arrived."
"Just like the other times…" Yuzu mumbled before looking at Yuuji, "But why didn't he vanish just like them. He does look like Yuya, right? So it should be the same thing…"
"What was that?" Yuya asked.
"Nothing." Yuzu replied before motion towards Yuya, "Let's bring Yuuji back with us. We can ask him questions when he wakes up in another week."
"Right," Yuya nodded as he picked up Yuuji along with Yuzu. Unknown to them, a drone that was flying over the area captured everything, flying away shortly after the three had left.
Yet again, Yuuji had awoken in that same dream with the giant dragon being. The land around him was devastated, the conversation between Zarc, Ray, and the brother that he was currently in the body of having the same conversation.
However, unlike all the other times he had the dream, the events continued passed where they would usually end, which was when Zarc said that his reason for doing what he did was to ascend.
Or, it was more like there was a sudden timeskip of sorts. One second they were talking, the next the dragon bring held the nearly lifeless body of his brother in the sky.
"Now with you, my dear brother, as the final piece, I'll finally be whole," Zarc stated as he slowly lower his brother into his dragon mouth, "Together, we shall become the most almighty being to have ever graced this pitiful world."
"Yuuji!" Ray cried out from her spot on the ground, severely injured.
Yuuji? Yuuji thought in his mind. So, this body I'm possessing, has the same name as me?
As the dragon let go of Yuuji, he felt the wind on his back as he fell straight into the mouth of the monster. While he was falling, he noticed his reflection on the teeth of the dragon. Someone he recognized instantly.
It was himself. His body. This wasn't just some man who he was possessing…
…It was himself.
"Gah!" Yuuji jolted awake, finding himself inside a white room. "...Where am I?"
Yuuji tried to move his body, being surprised that he actually had control over his body this time—which was weird. He knew he was still dreaming, since this wasn't just some place where one could suddenly appear.
…
"Isn't something supposed to be happening here?"
That's normally how these dreams would go. He would appear somewhere, see something, then either be ejected from the dream, or just fall into a deeper dream.
But there was nothing here for him to find.
"Maybe if I should just walk in a straight line…" Yuuji said. "If I keep going straight, I'll eventually find something."
And that's just what he did. He just walked. And walked. And walked, and walked, and walked. In an everlasting white void, unsure of what he was looking for.
After what felt like hours, or days, he wasn't sure at this point—he had no way to tell how much time had passed—he found something, or it would be better to say he found someone.
It was a young teen with brown hair and amber-colored eyes, the one he recognized from his first strange dream when he was in a mini coma after his duel with Hokuto. The teen sat on the ground with a dull expression in their eyes. In front of him were five monster cards, each of Yuuji's ace dragons.
The teen just kept constantly tapping their finger on Nirvana Crest Ritual Dragon.
"What are you doing here?" Yuuji asked the teen.
"..."
"Hello?"
"..."
It was like the teen couldn't hear him, continuously tapping on Nirvana Crest.
"Fine, if that's how you want to play, how about this…"
Yuuji got down on the ground, reaching for Nirvana Crest Ritual Dragon. However, when he tried to take the card, he realized that he couldn't even move it from its spot.
"Okay, maybe you instead."
Yuuji tried to pick up Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon, but he couldn't. Then he tried Starve Venemy Dragon, and then Clear Wing Fast Dragon. But he couldn't pick up any of them.
"What the hell!" Yuuji pulled on the cards as hard as he could. "Why can't I lift any of you guys!"
—Tap. Tap. Tap.
Yuuji noticed the teen moving the target for his constant tapping to Dark Anthelion Dragon.
"Do you want me to try and pick him up?" Yuuji asked.
"..."
"I'll take that as a yes."
Yuuji then approached Dark Anthelion, placing his hand on the card. He struggled momentarily to pick it up, similar to the other cards. However, after using as much strength as he could muster, he was able to pick up Dark Anthelion.
—Rumble!
The ground began to shake in the white void.
"What the hell is happening!?"
A giant white shrine with a massive locked gate appeared right in front of Yuuji, startling him and causing him to fall on his butt. A blinding light then flooded the area, causing Yuuji to close his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, the teen was gone, and five pillars appearing in front of him, with five different dragon statues depicted on them. Inside the center of each pillar were each of Yuuji's dragons.
"...What the hell?" Yuuji said in awe. "What is this?"
Yuuji approached one of the statues that depicted Dark Anthelion Dragon, dragging his hand across the rough surface of the concrete pillar. He felt some sort of deep connection to each of the pillars, though he had no idea why.
"Why is this one different?" Yuuji asked as he looked at Dark Anthelion's statue.
Unlike the other statues which were cracked and damaged, Dark Anthelion's look almost as good as new. The card itself was glowing vibrantly in his hand.
"Could it be because I managed to evolve it?" Yuuji wondered.
That had to be it. He couldn't think of a better explanation otherwise.
"So…if I somehow managed to evolve my other dragons, these statues will be fixed just this one?"
But how would he go about that? Dark Anthelion Dragon's evolution just suddenly happened. He knew for a fact that no matter how many times he had checked his Extra Deck, Dark Eclipse Anthelion Dragon was nowhere to be found. It was like it had just suddenly appeared as soon as he had the strange vision during the duel.
"Yeah, I need to stop thinking about it for now," Yuuji rubbed his head in exasperation. "I already have too much to think about."
The existence of other dimensions, the revelation of his counterparts, and the cryptic dreams—or perhaps memories—that haunted him, all weighed heavily on his mind. And then, there was the brown-haired boy who had appeared in two of these visions. He already had too many mysteries to worry about, and one more might make his brain blow up.

And that's the end of this double release. I hope you've enjoyed these two chapters (I enjoyed making them). We're finally getting into the juicy story bits of Arc-V which I enjoy the most, hence why these chapters were mostly talking compared to the other two chapters which were mostly 1 big duel.
Though, this chapter was also just one big duel...but, it also came with a big shift from the canon. Yuto actually doesn't die before the first quarter of the story is done.
A bit more of Yuuji's past has also been revealed in these two chapters as well. If you're confused about what the hell is up with his past, don't worry, you're supposed to be confused just like Yuuji is. If you're not and you've already caught on to the whole thing...you're really smart. That's all I could say. It's not the most complicated past at least to me (but I'm the writer, so it doesn't count).
As I've said at the top, be sure to write some reviews and suggestions (I want that review to count up and I want to hear what you readers want.) You don't even need an account to review, so just write one. I don't plan on uploading another chapter for a while unless I get an idea of what you guys want to change in Arc-V.
