9S landed with a hard THWOMP! as the shock from the impact spread throughout the back of his ribcage and spine. Plus butt bone.
"Ouch! Son of a mechanical bitch that hurt."
He looked up and saw he was in some kind of dark dimension and not the real world. Scanning the strange environment of endless blackness which confirmed he wasn't on earth.
"Where am I?"
Seconds passed by and the darkness remained.
"So this is what death is really like? Or did I fall through the game world and end up in hollow earth?"
He tried taking a step forward only to be yanked back by an unknown force.
"What the? Can someone please me out of this virtual shithole!"
"Hello 9S."
He slowly turned around and saw a puppet mounted on a red tricycle. It was Jigsaw.
"For years as a soldier of YoRHa, your duties and skills as a scanner model made you a valuable asset towards restoring mankind and fighting the machine network. However you tend to let your curiosity miscalculate your position and step out of line. When you step out of line, you make choices that end up… fatal. Take a look around you."
From every angle there were many bodies floating in the air as if they were pigs on meat hooks. Each had an expression of horror on their face. Each body had a big scar or cut on their limbs and torsos. Some had their heads severed and stitched back on. There was even one without its genitals. The worst part? They were copies of 9S himself.
"This is what happens to androids who don't listen. They all had breached into YoRHa's servers and were executed for that by their 'friend'. That one friend who's thicc and such."
Was Jigsaw talking about… 2B? The girl he'd been paired with since they met? The 2B who was stabbing him in the back these past missions they were together on? It's no wonder why he wakes up having no memory of her. Now it made sense. That cold, white haired, emotionless bitch!
Unless he wrote it in a diary.
"Oops I think I said too much. Anyways you also have a bad addiction to E-Drugs which isn't helping your cause. So here's the deal."
Nine faced Jigsaw and listened carefully.
"I want to play a game. This game will be taking place in front of you on this TV screen. It is called Jeopardy. There's a 6x5 column of questions you must answer using your general knowledge of specific people, places, things, and more to gain points. The more columns down means harder questions, which means higher value points. You have nine chances. If you run out, it's game over."
"Live or die. Let the game begin."
Jigsaw vanished and the intro of Jeopardy! started up and displayed the game interface options.
