The Unforgiven

Chapter 53

weeks later

At 17 weeks the babies were the size of a pomegranate.

Weird dreams. Itchy boobs and belly. More rapid weight gain. Stretch marks. This pregnancy had taken over my body my thoughts my emotions.

Brooke's appetite was back and i loved seeing her now be able to enjoy and eat meals again. Morning sickness had really taken a toll.

She had that pregnancy glow i always heard about.

I wake up in the morning. Thankful that she agreed to marry me. Thankful that we were going to finally have the family we've always dreamed of.

Brooke started to eat the breakfast she had gotten from Karen's cafe for them. Cinnamon pancakes. Maple bacon. Eggs.

Lucas poured a full glass of ginger tea for them both.

"I'm headed over to Skill's and Bevin's house. Nathan's going to be there and Mouth." Lucas explained.

"I'm off today. And i plan to have a relaxing day." Brooke replied.

...

Later on that day

"What exactly am i here for?" Lucas asked. As he sat down in the living room.

"We have to prepare you." Skills said.

"You're going to be in the delivery room when Brooke gives birth you have to get ready." Nathan explained.

"Get ready for what?" Lucas asked with a smile.

"To be by her side. To actively be involved."

"Watching the woman you love in so much pain and agony."

"Seeing her give birth is something you will never forget." Mouth proclaimed.

"We have a video for you to watch a multiple birth." Skills explained.

...

Brooke had spent the start of her afternoon reading pregnancy and parenting books. Looking up boy and girl names.

Eventually meeting with Karen for lunch.

Karen brought over food she had made for them.

Brooke's stomach growling as she sat down in the kitchen.

"Me and Keith want you and Lucas to lean on us whenever you need too. We love you both and are looking forward to meeting our grandchildren." Karen proclaimed.

"Thank you. I know Lucas will reach out to Keith once the babies are here. He was the best possible father figure."

"I don't have a relationship with Victoria."

"I'm alot more worried and terrified about being a mom then i let on. I want to do everything right." Brooke admitted.

"Well i assure you there is no perfect mother."

"But i am here for you day or night once the babies are here." Karen reassured her.

...

After embracing goodbye. Brooke was on her own again.

As she started to make her way out of the entryway after locking up.

Brooke was met with knocking at the door. She unlocked and looked up.

Surprised to see Haley not sure what to make of her these days.

"Let me in. We are overdue for a talk." Haley said.
