The tension in the room could be felt by everyone, but this time it was different because unlike before the Empire didn't have the upper hand.
"You would dare challenge us?" the ambassador says to them as his guards tighten their grips on their weapons.
It had taken months for the ships protecting Earth to behave their armorers replaced with the same material that the generation ships had been given by the aliens.
Thankfully it had been enough, granted just barely but it had been enough.
The empire was demanding that Earth haded over half of the colonies saying that they could manage and protect them far better than the Earth could.
In the past that was true, Earth's ships still relied on accelerated light technology, it was faster than anything they had but it still took months for them to get to any of the colonies.
The Empire on the other hand had both Accelerated light and super weapons that could tear through Earth's ships.
"Fire." the ambassador orders his men but none of them move
The screens in the room come to life showing that the ambassador's escort ships had fired on one of the space stations.
The president of Earth couldn't help but smile, as the ambassador's arrogant smirk vanished and a look of shock filled the woman's face.
"What's wrong ambassador didn't you bring your good guns with you or has your empire become weaker." he taunts the woman, who quickly presses a button on her uniform shirt and vanishes as she is teleported away.
The room becomes a chaotic mess as both Earth's security force and the Empire's guards shoot and fight each other before everything becomes quiet when the soldiers of the Empire are overwhelmed by the guards.
"Well that could have gone better." the president says to his vice president who looks at him as if asking if the man was kidding.
They look at the screens in front of them that show that the battle in space hasn't ended.
The images on the screen show several Earth of ships placing themselves between the Empire's ships and the Earth as the Empire fir at the planet.
Both men can't help but feel themselves filled with pride as they watch Earthships take every shot and shrug it off as if it were nothing.
The rest of the ships continue to tear into each other each showing their experience in war.
Earth ships while eager to show that the weapons of the empire can't hurt them still acted the same way they did when those same weapons were deadly to them.
They avoid the empire's attacks and try to hit their enemy's engines and whatever weak points they find.
The ships of the empire seem to be made of nothing but guns as waves upon waves of gunfire emerge from them.
They only move out of the way when Earthships manage to get behind them or somehow manage to blast a hole in their armor.
The battle ends as the empire's ships escape, the captains are ready to follow them but he orders them not to, while Earth's ships may have been upgraded the rest of the fleets haven't.
For now, they would have to celebrate this victory and prepare themselves for what was coming, this battle would make the empire think twice about taking the colonies.
