Author's note:
Well, here's another chapter of Tears of a new Start, I have been receiving help from some friends who had been helping me to find some typo errors and mistakes, if any of you find some you can tell me, and whenever I have time I will try to fix it.
Now I hope you guys enjoy some action, because things will be interesting on this chapter.
Also, I'm writing the new chapter of Hell's Bells, but it will take a few days, maybe this weekend will be published or not. I hope you guys have patience and enjoy a good time. Have fun.
An hour had passed as the group finally had their meal, but still Josh's Pokémon were enjoying their deserved rest. Magikarp was still reflecting on the tiny puddle of water as Tentacool stared at the fish Pokémon in amusement, while inside the aquarium, the squid Pokémon was enjoying the good Pokémon food it deserved.
Ditto was talking with Pikachu in their own language, which only Pokémon would understand. Caterpie and Weedle were lying on the floor after eating too many leaves from finally learning Bug Bites. Caterpie learned tackle as Weedle learned how to use its poison sting. They felt they accomplished their mission, and soon their evolving stages would happen.
Pidgeotto covered it's body with bandages after being treated with a potion and a new move on it's head.
Misty showed both her Stariu, Starmie, and Goldeen after making a puddle for her Pokémon as well, and it was a good interaction between the Pokémon to meet and talk with each other... However, there was one event that mostly would need to see it happen.
"Well, it seems we reach to this point." Josh commented as he saw both Samurai Kid and Ash staring at each other as they gave a good space as they grabbed their Pokémon. Seeing both trainers getting ready for their Pokémon battle. There's nothing else Josh could do at the moment, but let kids be kids. "Alright, for the sake of our Pokémon continuing to survive on this forest, we have potions and rations to help to deal with their injuries, but I warn you both that this forest is unpredictable, so be careful on the moves you are going to make."
"Don't worry about it." Ash turned his cap backwards, which Josh had to blink, but felt a kind of nostalgia for seeing that move. "I will take him down easily. Go Pidgey."
"Pidgeyyyy," And as the little bird Pokémon appeared on the field, it spread its wings, ready for a good fight.
"Pidgey, Pikachu has been resting for a while since the last fight, so I'm going to trust you to do your best to win this." Ash explained as he could see the bird Pokémon getting ready for the combat.
"You brought a flying type, which is a very cunning strategy; however, I'm not a simple trainer. Pinsir, get ready for combat." Samurai decided to show the difference in their power by simply launching his Pokéball, which revealed an insectoid Pokémon with a wide, dull-brown body divided into segments by thin lines. And what surprised even more Ash was that at the top of its head there was a large pair of gray, spiky pincers. In its mouth are many long, flat teeth arranged horizontally, and it has triangular eyes.
"Oh wow, he has a Pinsir." Ash commented as he immediately took from his pocket his Pokédex.
"Pinsir, a frightening Pokémon that uses its pincers to give grip to its adversaries." The Pokédex was clear, and on the next moment both Ash and Pidgey had to stare at the big Pokémon looking at the small bird.
"This Pinsir seems to be tough, but at least we have the type advantage. Making Pidgey still has a chance," Ash said as he looked at the bug Pokémon opening and closing its pincers. "Pidgey uses Sand Attack."
At that moment, Pidgey used it's wings to create a small sandstorm in the direction of the bug-type Pokémon, which seems to not phase Pinsir, nor his trainer.
"That's child play. Pinsir, use Tackle." Samurai smirked as on the next second the brownish bug Pokémon jumped and gave a powerful tackle, which made Pidgey affected and launched on the ground.
"Pidgey," Ash said in alarm, but as soon as the little bird Pokémon got up, even as looked a bit hurt. It showed the desire to keep fighting. "Do you still want to fight?"
"PIDGEY," As it felt like it had been offended by a sudden attack, Pidgey refused to be one-shot against a bug-type Pokémon. Which the little bird flapped its wings and stared at Pinsir with a glare. "Good, then let's do another move. Pidgey use Gust."
And this time as the group looked at the little bird taking flight and approaching the insect Pokémon, Pidgey didn't give another change as he used the little wings and flapped into a strong motion of winds, making the samurai flinch as he held his helmet, and Pinsir used its body to remain in the ground. But still suffering the damage of a strong wind towards its body.
"That's good, but not good enough. Pinsir, tackle again." At the moment the samurai gave the instruction, Pinsir, still struggling with the force of Gust attacking it, used all the strength to use it's whole body to attack Pidgey.
"PIDGEYYYYYY," The shout was enough to make the body of the bug Pokémon the triple of its size still manage a good hit and launch the bird Pokémon at the floor.
"Pidgey, are you alright?" Ash just saw his Pokémon on the ground as even trying to stand up, but suddenly the body crumbled and it couldn't move much. Before Ash would take his Pokéball. Josh decided to intervene.
"Well, it seems the first battle is over, and Pinsir has the victory. Ash, don't take out your Pokémon yet. We're going to treat the injuries and let the Pokémon eat and rest while watching you battle." Josh explained as Misty took a bowl with Pokémon food, which made the boy nod his head at them.
"You're idea of using Gust was good; however, I have been training around this forest for so long with my Pinsir that we know ways to handle ourselves against Pidgey and Pidgeotto at this forest." Samurai kid said as clearly showed to Ash that he has more experience than him. "Don't think you're going to defeat me so easily. Are you ready to surrender?"
"No, I'm just warming up." Ash said as he narrowed his eyes and decided to use his next Pokémon. "Metapod, I choose you."
And at the time the Pokéball revealed, Misty and Josh saw the Coccoon Pokémon in a green color staring in the direction of the Pokémon, which defeated Pidgey in two attacks.
"Well then, let's see if your Metapod can deal with the pincers of my Pinsir; my Pinsir is going to crush your Pokémon," Samurai warned as the Pinsir approached the green coccoon Pokémon. As then Ash realized the meaning of his words, on how the pincers could be lethal to his Pokémon.
"Ash, don't let Metapod go; not even a bug Pokémon deserved that." Misty, as much as she had a phobia of bug-type Pokémon, she felt heartfelt from imagining the cruelty into seeing Metapod being crushed between pincers and claws.
"Go Pinsir," Samurai said as the Pinsir went to use it's claws, which Josh could see that in case things would cross the line, he would need to intervene by using Ditto. Since he knew the right Pokémon to deal with the bug-type Pokémon.
"METAPOD HARDEN." Ash shouted as, on the next second, the Coccoon Pokémon showed a green light, which, on the next second, its shell felt like it would be shining like metal. And as the Pinsir placed over it's pincers and started to crush, what resulted was the pincer's spikes being pulverized by not being able to crush Metapod.
"Pikachu," To see the yellow rodent Pokémon comment, Josh could see the Pokémon was impressed.
"It worked," Misty said happily, as even though she felt scared of the bug Pokémon, she couldn't help but be happy to see how nature works when a Pokémon would use Harden against a predator.
"So, who is the amateur now?" Ash said confidently, which annoyed the boy in front of him.
"Pinsir, come back." And on the next second, Pinsir was brought back to its Pokéball, when on the next second the boy was taking from his pocket another Pokéball. "Smart, very smart indeed. Pokéball go."
As the moment was tense and it seemed the Pokémon battle ended with 1x1, it turned out for another battle. Ash was feeling anxious... Just for the next second, he couldn't believe his eyes.
"Metapod?"Ash asked in disbelief; at the time Josh and Misty looked at Josh, who seemed a bit more serious.
"That's bad; if the samurai's Metapod knows tackle and bug bites, it can be something Ash would be at a disadvantage." Josh commented as both he and Misty, as the same way their Pokémon stared at a mirror match, with 2 Metapods staring at each other and their trainers.
"METAPOD USE HARDEN LIKE HIM." And at that moment, Josh's mouth went wide open in disbelief.
"HARDEN AT THE MAXIMUN METAPOD." Ash commanded as both cocoons' Pokémon glew green, making their shells gleam like metal, as both samurai and Ash glare at each other, showing how determined they are.

5 minutes later...
Both trainers remained on their spot, refusing to move but only commanding their Pokémon to continue using hardening. And on that moment, Josh, who was now using his laptop as a way to make some notes and write down everything he did over that day, the objectives, and the training schedule he developed for every single Pokémon he has, Pikachu kindly accepted to do a little favor for Josh as Nurse Joy allowed the teenager to take an electrical converter just to charge his equipment. Meaning Pikachu is being very helpful by charging his cellphone in exchange for Josh making a draw of him but also buying any type of food the Pokémon would want in the next city.
It was a fair price, and Josh didn't want to overuse his Ditto, who seemed to be enjoying talking with other Pokémon.
Charging his cellphone and tablet, Josh was now using his laptop as a way to distract himself around the forest since the battle in front of him was something that he would think to be the most boring Pokémon battle he ever saw. Wondering if such a Pokémon battle shouldn't have a speed button just like the emulators. Which now Josh looked on the corner of his computer, and happily he could see there were still some of his iconic games in case he would be with a desire to play in case he was alone. It would be very awkward to explain how advanced games that have their own portrait and Pokémon are being used as simulators.
But nothing like enjoying his selection of music by using his headphones and seeing the opportunity for what he could be doing as the next podcast.
"I think if we do that daily, it will not be good for our journey, as the same way I could be losing topics along the way." Josh commented as he was a content creator, but still, as he was a poketuber and streaming Nuzlocks, it would require time for him to recharge himself before returning to the challenges and studying more about the Pokémon moves and items he could have provided along the Pokémon roms, such as Emerald Kaizo, Radical Red, and any other that could bring the most difficult challenges for the streamers.
He kind of missed watching his friends play and do their own content, as they would help him to have more ideas or even make him participate in their videos as well. Josh misses his friends; that's a fact, and there's nothing he could do to try to deny that. Only accept he was now in the Pokémon world.
He could at least develop his training schedule and possible moves he could teach for his Pokémon in the future...
30 minutes later.
"Keep going, Metapod; use Harden once again." Ash's voice echoed as neither the group of Pokémon nor humans cared about the red cap boy and the boy dressed as a samurai.
"Don't give up Metapod; show who is the best among us." Samurai shouted as the time had progressed, and neither of them moved a single muscle as they continued to shout to their insect Pokémon constantly.
Misty lost her interest in the battle and somehow brought 3 chairs to do something else. Pikachu, after the favor it did for the poketuber, was glad to receive a well-deserved rest. Misty, dressed in a bikini, decided to take a sunbath as Josh looked at the archieves of his own tablet, and he couldn't help but be glad that he had the downloaded web comics from Nekoama, a very great artist who taught him how to make good comics related to Pokémon society as if they lived as humans.
Char and Lil Gang is a story about three starter Pokémon who were simply children while they had a daily life as children while their relatives were in the growing-up stages of their evolution, teenagerhood and adulthood.
He remembered at the time he read the first webcomic, he recommended to all his streaming videos, and even gave a slight joke about him doing some comic dubs, which thankfully for his microphone system and the audiobox, which allowed him to exchange his voice in a way, made it good to be seen, and even laughed from so many good jokes in regard to the comics.
He loved to play the trio Articuno, Zapdos, and the annoying Moltress. It was a funny experience. And something he missed around: his pokémaniacs, his fans who gave him support when he needed it most at the time he first started streaming, the moderators, the videos, the emails, everything.
He doesn't know if his podcast would be seen in a good way, since he doesn't know how it worked with the technology he has. Rotom seems to be hacking around anything technological to transmit his podcast, whether it was a radio, a Pokédex, or even a device of communication among themselves. He isn't sure if he's disturbing the peace of everyone with his inconvenience, and doing it daily would be more troublesome than worth it. He thought it through.
As soon as they reach Pewter City, Josh will call Professor Oak for advice... or at least when his boredom reaches the limit. Since he could see inside of his tablet, there was something he was glad to have downloaded before taking that dammed cruise trip. The comics of Char and Lil Gang... but also the whole transcript, walkthrough with dialogues of Mistery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
He used that as his personal project to use some streaming videos of himself drawing a comic about it, retelling the entire story by hand as a fancomic. By using his favorite duo when he played the game for the first time. Riolu and Eevee. And he was happy with all the work he had done so far.
Maybe it won't be a bad idea if he continues a work that he had given a break.
Ash wouldn't take too much time, right?
3 hours later…
"Are you sure that you want to talk about this topic, Misty? It may be difficult to talk a lot more about bug-type Pokémon if it is too much for you." Josh explained as Misty felt a little nervous.
"I know, but you said it's just to explain. I'm trying my best to get over my fear of insects, but I also would be glad if we don't talk only about Bug Pokémon." Misty said nervously as she got a nod from her friend, as he gave a few notes about what they should be talking about over Josh's podcast. Josh said they should be relaxed, be used with the subject, tell about personal opinions and stories related to the subject, and since they have until Pewter City to discuss their ideas of what they could be discussing about. She was glad to be part of something to pass the time. When Ash doesn't screw up most of the recordings.
"It's fine. Maybe we could include something about Pewter City; since we are heading towards that city, we could be talking about the gym leader of that city... Maybe an interview? A local gym leader explaining the culture of the city and some good important facts regarding his gym would be a good way to attract Pokémon trainers to give a challenge to the gym leader." Josh suggested the idea as immediately Misty blinked but then enjoyed the idea of including another person in the conversation as a way to learn more about the city and even the life style of the gym leader of that city.
"Oh, I think that's a good idea, but maybe we should ask permission for them first." Misty said as she recalled that if she and her sisters would be interviewed, they would also like it if they asked their permission first.
"Fair enough." Josh commented as the duo continued to plan ahead of what they would do at the time they reach Pewter City. It would still take a few days, according to the map, and Josh wanted to train his Weedle and Caterpie until they reach not only their evolution state but also get moves that would help him to win the gym battles in the future.
They can't believe that both Metapod remained using Harden as the duo of stupid boys who refused to take a break.
1 hour later:
"Misty, Misty, come here. But still be sure to be 10 steps away." Josh immediately called the girl who was focusing into taking the sunbath, as the girl titled her head, but slowly approaching the boy, she suddenly felt her face slightly paling from seeing one thing. Two things actually—Weedle and Caterpie—were evolving at the same time. Lauching stringshots to themselves and covering their skin into a cocoon shell. "It seems that after eating too much and even learning Bug Bites, Tackle, and Poison Sting, they now are on the stages of evolution."
"Wow… that's wonderful," Misty said as she was trembling behind the tree. But her fear didn't go unnoticed. As Josh slowly nodded towards the girl.
"Don't worry, Misty, 10 steps. Be calm and be courageous, okay?" Josh once again gave reassuring words as on the next second both Metapod and Kakuna appeared, showing how the training paid off, as clearly they didn't need to fight each other senselessly like two boys who still were frozen like statues just like their Pokémon. "Kakuna, Metapod, congratulations on evolving; now I want to ask you both a question... Can you do Bug Bites?"
Josh said as he brought 2 leaves for them... and one the next second, surprised not just him but Misty into seeing how quickly the cocoons didn't have mouths, and yet just placing the leaf on their shell, it immediately disintegrates, like it had been eaten slowly.
"And now that's what I call a success." Josh said it was a personal victory, not just for him but for his Pokémon as well.
1 hour later.
The Ivysaur opened the fridge in a bored look, just to stare at a jar with a single pickle on the back at the end of the fridge.
"Hey uncle V, how old is this pickle jar at the back?" Ivysaur asked curiously as she looked behind her back, calling her uncle in curiosity.
"We have pickles?" The voice on the other side of the house asked in surprise, which made the teenager Pokémon smirk with an idea on her mind.
.
.
.
"Five buck," Suddenly the pickle jar was presented at the table with a slam sound over the wood. Both Wartortle and Charmeleon glanced as Ivysaur was now smirking happily at one of her friends.
"Five bucks for what? You wanna sell me a cruddy-looking pickle?" Charmeleon asked with his arms crossed, looking deeply annoyed from seeing what his friend was implying. "That stuff looks nasty; I might die if I eat it."
"Nah man, five bucks if you drink it." Ivysaur said with a smirk on her face, challenging the firelizard Pokémon into a bet. Which clearly didn't phase neither the fire nor the water Pokémon.
"Ivy, you can't even buy more pickles for five bucks." Wartortle commented as she crossed her arms in disbelief as Charmeleon agreed with her.
"Right? I'm insulted." Charmeleon commented as he placed his arm leaning on the table. He clearly commented his sarcasm on how stupid the bet had been if it was a clear lose/lose situation for him. "I'm a Mon found of dare. But give me equal payoff to the risk."
"Alright, how's this? Five if you drink and barf. Twenty if you don't barf."Ivysaur accepted their points as she decided to give more stakes to make Charmeleon tempted to give a try on the challenge.
Charmeleon narrowed his eyes as he could see it was exactly what Ivy wanted, and from seeing her narrowing her eyes with a smirk on her face, Charmeleon leaned on the table as he placed both hands nearby his chin and decided to give his answer.
"Nnnnnnooooooooooooo," Charmeleon refused politely as he clearly made a motion with both his claws pointing at the plant starter, who isn't buying one bit. She simply tilted her head with the same smile as she knew he wanted it. Which made him groan in annoyance. "Ugh fine! I want to; I just can't, okay? Dad says if one more dare sends me to the hospital, he won't give me any more rides home!"
"Wait, Really?" Wartortle asked with a smile on her face, because surprisingly it was something Charizard would say to Charmeleon.
"I make a lot of poor choices." That was the only reply Charmeleon says, which the water Pokémon accepted as a fact.
But then Ivysaur decided to give a look at the pickle jar once again. And an idea struck her head.
"Final offer. Five if you drink and barf. Twenty if you drink and don't barf. And if it makes you mad sick," Ivysaur decided to give something she knows Charmeleon would never refuse, an offer that would make him immediately jump on the bet. "Twenty bucks, and I'll let you tell everyone you beat me at arm wrestling."
Charmeleon was with his arms crossed, but deep inside of his mind, a choice was about to be made...
.
.
.
"So that's why you need a ride home?" Throh, a red Pokémon wearing a white judogi asked as he was being on the driver seat of the car, while Charmeleon was with the biggest smirk of his life.
"Yep." The fire Pokémon was wearing a hospital gown and crossing his arms with deep satisfaction.
"Was...was it worth it?" Throh asked as he couldn't believe the story he just heard, but from seeing the look of the teenager's face. He already could guess the answer.
"Totally," Charmeleon said as even his father would never take him for a ride back home ever again. His pride was now intact, and he could say whatever he wanted over the arm wrestling against Ivysaur; it was the best decision he made in his life. Not mattering the consequences.
"PFFHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA," Misty's laughed so hard as she read one of the funniest things that she ever read in her life. She remembered about the same Charmeleon who asked for pizza since Charmander was the one who tried to cook for the first time. And now she learned there were more Pokémon in that world. But still, the pride of Charmeleon clearly made it hilarious to see how far stupid it would take for someone doing something reckless like that. "Charmeleon is Ash; he's totally him. I can see the resemblance."
"Now now, Misty, don't be too hasty to judge." Josh commented as both were enjoying a good iced tea in the afternoon. Since Misty insisted on reading the little comics created as a way to tell the jokes and stories in regard to how a Pokémon society would work. He couldn't say no since he was already enjoying a good read as well.
"I can't believe you created all of this." Misty said as she recalled how Josh told her he was an artist, even drawing and taking pictures of his weird equipment, but good enough to make her the best portrait as she could be. She even learned more about the culture and how Josh viewed the way of the Pokémon life and how possibly worked on the island he lived on.
"Yep." Josh lied straight away; since he knew deep inside he could never see another work coming from the greatest artist as Nekoama, he decided to take her mantle and use it to develop the stories from that point. Since the creator of said comic gave some good points on which pen program, which color scheme, everything he learned from checking the and the work done... It was his way to make the story and the art live through time, space, and dimensions. A work that must be always lived and experienced by everyone who loves a good story. "There's some other good ones, but hey, can you tell me on the corner on the right how much battery it has?"
"Oh, it says there's 20 percent of battery." Misty said, to which Josh nodded his head. And by bringing the iced tea to the water gym leader and for himself, the boy quickly clicked on the button on the corner and made sure to turn off the laptop.
"To economize battery. I think we had enough for today." Josh explained as he looked around to see the Pidgeotto, Ditto, Magikarp, and Tentacool communicating with both Kakuna and Metapod after their slight celebration of training of the day. Learning Weedle, Caterpie can be a Pokémon that can evolve quickly was very surprising. It just took a day, and yet both already evolved on the second stage.
On the videogame, it would take minutes or even an hour to make one of them evolve into a Beedrill and a Butterfree. But from all the work he had done, it clearly paid off. Who knows how much longer it would take for them to evolve to the final stage, and then he could focus on teaching the next moves.
What was even funnier was the fact Ditto wanted to use transformation on both evolved Pokémon, as Josh would later give the stats of their strength. Something Josh was willing to teach his starter Pokémon.
As the scalding sun still affects the temperature of the forest, even after passing 4 p.m., the Pokémon trainers were still in a Pokémon battle.
"Arceus, give me patience." Misty then heard Josh looking at the boys, who were still glaring at their Pokémon, wanting to continue their battle. "How many hours are they on there? That's the most boring Pokémon battle I ever saw in my life."
"If things continue like that, we are going to pass our entire lives like this; boys are so stubborn." Misty said as she gave a small remark, which made her friend pinch her. "Ouch, what was that for?"
"Because you're wrong, ever saw me being stubborn like that?" Josh gave a look, and at that time Misty realized what he meant.
"Ops, sorry," Misty said sheepishly as she could see the teenager nodding his head at her.
"Apologies accepted. But still, I think we should include this as the most boring Pokémon battle of the world. I think even watching paint dry would be more exciting than that." Josh crossed his arms as he could see Misty nodding her head at him.
"Yeah, I think I would watch the grass grow." Misty nodded her head as she could feel her losing patience, until she suddenly saw both boys stick on their positions, and like statues they feel with their backs on the grass.
"Don't give up." Ash said through his teeth as he was clinching and not being able to open his mouth.
"Okay, that's a tie." Josh said as he raised his hand on the air. "Neither Pokémon trainers can continue the Pokémon battle. The winners of the match are the Metapods, who managed to defeat their trainers in a battle of willpower."
And on that moment, both Metapods went down on the side, completely exhausted from battle of whiz and determination. At least the bug-type Pokémon proved they are stronger than their trainers.
"YOU BOTH ARE WAY MORE STUBBORN THAN YOUR METAPODS." Misty shouted in outrage, as in that second. Making Josh shake his head, knowing how annoying these two had been.
.
.
.
"Okay, now we know that you both are tied. Can you explain to us why you insist on having a Pokémon battle with Ash?" Josh was glad that at the time Misty shouted it didn't provoke the swarm of Beedril, since they walked further away on the forest, being away from the Kakuna Tree, which usually belonged to the Beedril hive, and since Ash's last provocation, they didn't want to cause another mess.
"I'm here to challenge all the trainers who came from Pallet, since I already battled against 3 of them." Samurai immediately took the attention of not just Ash but also from the teenager who asked the question.
"You mean Gary and the others?" Ash asked, but then Josh interrupted.
"Erick and Stephanie, Ash, they also have names." Josh corrected the boy who seemed to never revel more about the others, only for Gary and his obsession with rivalry with only him.
"Oh yes, it was 3 spectacular battles," Samurai commented as he recalled the fights he had before, one with each of them. The first one was with a little girl who used Flamethrower to win a combat, then later he recalled her chubby friend who used a Bulbasaur to attack with Vine Whips, and then another trainer who seemed to be arrogant, but his skill showed how good he was by using his Squirtle. "Each one of them was more challenging than the other; those guys clearly knew how to use a Pokémon in a battle; even if I was defeated three times, I was excited to double my training to make my team stronger. I'm preparing myself anxiously to someday finally be the next Palet Pokémon trainer."
"Huh, so you're from Palet? That's interesting." Josh said, while Ash looked a bit annoyed. What the samurai kid said was very touching and even inspiring. A trainer who never lets down after a defeat in a Pokémon battle, but the excitement to improve himself and his Pokémon further. That was a drive that felt kind of unknown for him.
As years playing Pokémon, he never recalled the times a loss really inactivated him to train his team more. Or in case he fought Pokémon battles with his friends, which clearly the defeat never tasted good in the mouth of himself nor his friends. But indeed, it was an admirable feeling.
Looking inside his suitcase, he smiled after taking his stylish blue sports jacket and his sport top featuring lightning symbols on it, and behind his jacket the logo of his Twitch channel. A silluette of a Ninetails Pokéball looking similar to a soccer ball labeled as GG. Something he was glad to have as a reminder of the life he had before and how he proudly would be using his Galarian uniform.
"Okay, how's your Pinsir?" Josh asked as it made the whole group blink at the person who stretched himself.
"He's feeling better and recovered his pincers." Samurai said as he suddenly saw the boy already giving a good distance.
"Good enough for me." Josh said as the group then saw the boy taking his own cap, a blue cap as he placed over his head. He gave a look to his ditto. "Ditto, ready to teach this trainer and his Pokémon how to get stronger?"
"DITTO," The slimy Pokémon, so eager for the battle, clearly moved its slimy body towards the trainer.
"Oh, that's something I want to see." Ash never thought he would see Josh doing a Pokémon battle, and he never accepted his challenge when he asked to be a partner for training. Only when Team Rocket decided to disturb them, Josh worked together with him just in case to defeat Team Rocket, and yet somehow he refuses to even try to train together. But it seems the boy in front of him somehow convinced him to give it a chance.
"Me too; that's the first time we are going to see him battling alone." Misty nodded her head as she could see Samurai with a determinate look on his face.
"I humbly accept your challenge, and you have my gratitude for this Pokémon battle." Samurai said as he took a Pokéball with him. "Come out now, Pinsir."
As the samurai called his Pokémon, Josh took the device, which looked foreign for both Ash and the samurai, but for Misty, she already recognized it.
"I think this will make things interesting." Josh said as he calmly pressed a few things and gave to Misty. As he helped to raise her arm towards the sky. "Enjoy,"
(Pokémon Sword & Shield - Battle Tower Boss Battle Music)
As suddenly an explosion of sounds of trumpets made the whole group stare at the boy smirking at Ditto.
"Ditto, HP 35, Attack 55, Defense 40, Sp. Attack 50, Sp. Deffense 50, Speed 90, Eletric Type." Josh simply commented as the shadow on his face smirked as the little slimy Pokémon decided to transform itself, and both Ash and Misty had their eyes wide open as Ditto grew yellow fur into a semblance similar to a Pokémon they knew too well.
"Pikachu," Ditto said, as even with the failed 2 dots as it's eyes, the appearance looked almost perfect as Josh cracked his fingers.
"Samurai, let me teach what my friends had taught me in both Galar and Alola. You want a memorable Pokémon battle? Then I will give you one that you will never forget." Josh said as the boy in front of him could feel the music and how impactful it was towards everyone listening to the transformation of Ditto, it was like the sound of a marching band was in a single square, and yet. It also excited Samurai like a kid that he found a new experience to have.
"ALRIGHT, THEN LET ME SHOW HOW I WILL BE A GREAT PALET'S Pokémon TRAINER." Samurai said as his Pinsir felt also the fight spirit growing up from the song. "PINSIR USE YOUR CLAWS ON THAT IMITATION OF PIKACHU."
And on that second the guitar played as Ditto in Pikachu's form stared at the insectoid going in its direction.
"That's not nice." Josh said as he was smiling at the boy who is about to learn how Nuzlockers trainers would use their full potential. "Ditto Thunder Wave."
As on the next second, everyone saw Ditto jumping in front of Pinsir and giving a slight energy blast to Pinsir, who slowly's body became slower and even statics crossed around the body.
"What?" Samurai saw as on the next second Ditto jumped away from Pinsir. "Go after him, Pinsir."
"Ditto, now HP 35, Attack 60, Defense 44, Special. Attack 40, Special Defense 54, Speed 55. Total 288 base stats points, poison type." Josh said as immediately Misty's eyes went wide open.
"Poison Type, doesn't that mean." Misty commented that on the next second, when Pinsir was still slower than Ditto, the yellow-fur Pokémon transformed itself and started to expand its body to make it slicky and with a darker shade of purple.
"Ekans." Ditto commented as the serpent body appeared, creating another look of surprise from the boy who was there.
"HE TRANSFORMED HIS DITTO IN ONE OF THE TEAM ROCKET'S Pokémon." Ash shouted in surprise as Misty nodded her head, the new transformation of Ditto. On how Josh trusted his little Pokémon to memorize the numbers and the type of Pokémon.
"Pinsir, let's stop playing around; attack Ditto with Tackle." Samurai said the song really made the Pokémon give their all.
"Ditto Leer." Josh said, which immediately the serpent Pokémon went faster as it had a chance to make both eyes sparkle in intimidation, as it even made the insectoid Pokémon hesitate, but then fighting against the paralysis still gave all it's might to give a tackle, which on that second. The sound of Ditto being attacked made Josh remain calm. "Ditto, again, Leer."
On that second, the serpent who was on the floor crawled away and, with a good distance, once again sparkled the eyes.
"That didn't help before. Pinsir another tackle." Samurai commanded, but suddenly the body of the bug Pokémon didn't move. "What happened?"
"It's still paralyzed; it's way harder, for it gave another attack. Ditto ANOTHER LEER." Josh said as once again the purple serpent sparkled its eyes, staring intently at Pinsir.
"Why he kept repeating the same move? That didn't work on the other times." Ash said as he never could understand why Josh looked so confident of the battle, seeing the Pokémon paralyzed just to later make the transformation of Ekans only staring at Pinsir like that.
"I also don't know, but something tells me Josh knows exactly what he's doing." Misty said as the song showed the piano solo, which clearly made her enjoy even more the battle; it was like whenever Josh wanted to Pokémon battle, that would make things even more interesting. And she had to agree; it was memorable to see a Pokémon battle followed by music.
"Pinsir, it's your chance; attack Ditto with all you have." Samurai gave the command, as on the next second Pinsir fought the paralisis and went in the direction of the Ditto in Ekans form.
"-3 will do," Josh said as the guitar solo gave the best timing for him to finally attack. "DITTO BITE."
As Pinsir were to use its pincers to attack the serpent, suddenly the snake Pokémon was more agile, and it jumped to attack the neck of the insectoid Pokémon, and suddenly the Pokémon never felt so much pain on its entire being.
"PINSIRRRRRRRR," The creature scretched in pain, which made everyone stare at Josh, who now stares at Pokémon, even hesitating to attack after being attacked on the neck.
"HE FLINCHED DITTO, FINALIZE THIS WITH SLUDGE." Josh said as Ditto in Ekans form launched a green good liquid goo directly on the face and mouth of Pinsir, who were launched away from such a painful and horrifying attack. Which leads to it's eyes and face.
As on the next second, Pinsir remained on the floor for a few seconds, just to later show spirals on it's eyes. Showing that it had been defeated.
As then the final trumpets gave the conclusion of the song and the battle.
"Pinsir." Samurai said as he looked in surprise at seeing his Pokémon being defeated in such a way.
"I hope you learn this as a lesson." Josh said as the group saw Ditto transforming itself into its form. Happily with the victory they both worked together to make. "If your Pokémon is paralyzed, be aware your attacks will always be delayed to the point where, depending on the Pokémon, if it was faster enough, it could make 2 attacks immediately. And if someone uses the same move more than 2 times without frustration of the move not working... Then exchange your Pokémon immediately. Because your Pokémon's defense may have been compromised, and you should not risk your Pokémon staying on the field for so long."
Misty and Ash had their mouths dropped as Josh took his cellphone back and looked at his Pokémon team staring at him.
"I hope you guys are ready to keep training, because that's a little portion of the full potential I can bring to all of you in your battles. So get ready, because they won't see it coming as the time we will defeat them easily." Josh said as he could see his Pokémon still staring at him in shock. Josh seems to be oblivious about their shock but continued to focus on other things. "Ah, Misty I will call Professor Oak; I will be out for a few minutes. Can you do me a favor and prepare the tent for everyone to sleep in? Thanks, you're the best."
…
Samurai stared at his Pokémon, never realizing how the battle had indeed been on what he was instructed. It felt refreshing, and yet he learned a lot from the instructions he got from the grown-up teenager.
Paralysis from Thunder Wave and Leer that seems to surpass the defense of his Pinsir.
His question talked about how bug-type Pokémon came from another region; he wondered if Galar and Alola were also strong, just like the boy who came from there.
Yet the warrior spirit refused to accept this loss, and he was going to learn how to counter such moves in the future, as he felt ready and excited for maybe next year he would be chosen to be the representation of Palet to try to become a Pokémon master too, and also having a chance to visit Galar to capture some bug-type Pokémon, which looked so wonderful for him to add to his team.
…
Ash and Misty simply had no freaking idea what happened. But it was like Josh literally schooled not just the boy but them as well.
Misty, even as gym leader as her sisters would represent Cerulean, never thought to see something so precise and yet so ruthless as a way to command the battle, and yet that's how the battle ended. Easily handed to Josh, who had control of the whole combat.
Ash simply stared at his Pikachu, who clearly felt shocked as well. They never thought about using a move named Thunder Wave before, and a Pokémon that can transform into others showed more experience than the electric rodent itself. Pikachu felt insulted. Josh will pay him with 2 or 3 bottles of Ketchup and something extra from that insult.
