Amira sighed as she stared out of the window. The four were on the way to the home of deadly assassins to get the boy but what if he didn't want to be with them.

Memory

Amira pulled the boy to her giving him a slight squeeze as she felt him freeze as if waiting for something bad to happen.

"Good job, Killua." She said as she let go of him.

Killua huffed and looked away. "Yeah. Yeah. Sure."

Amira wasn't sure but she could swear the boy was blushing slightly.

END MEMORY

'I promise Killua. I will make you see not all people are out to hurt others.' Amira thought as she thought of the boy.

Gon was sitting across from her staring outside.

"Killua" he whispered.

Amira's heart broke for the boy.

Leorio suddenly shoved a fry in the boy's mouth.

"What's with the long face, Gon?" Leorio said while stuffing fries in his mouth.

Kurapika took a seat by Amira handing her a drink. "We will be in Padokea tomorrow. You will see Killua soon."

Amira reached out and took the boy's hand. "We will find him, Gon."

Gon smiled and munched on his fry. "Yeap."

Amira giggled as the other two boys smiled. "Gon, you have stuff on your face."

She reached out and whipped it off with a paper towel.

Leorio leaned back with a smirk. "There goes Mama hen Amira taking care of her chick."

The others stared confused before Gon and Kurapika laughed.

"Mama Hen?" She said in confusion.

Leorio nodded his head. "Yep. You are the mother type. Making sure the two drank water during the run during phase one, feeding Killua before phase two, phase three you helped by making sure Gon had food before it started, phase four you were so positive to the two and us before it started. Last phase you were so worried about Gon and Killua. I also saw the first aid kit and all the food you bought."

"Killua did give you some of his boiled egg at the Phase two site." Kurapika said with a smile.

The teen leaned forward with a smirk. "Just now you cleaned Gon's face off just like a mom. You're a mother hen taking care of her chick."

Amira blushed. "Shut up."

The boys laughed at her.

"Shoo. Be quiet." An old woman said with a glare at the teens.

The boys snickered again and Amira's mouth twitched. They settled down for a rest.

The next day they got off the airship and onto a train.

Amira read though a tourist brochure trying to learn everything about the area.

Getting off, the group walked into town and to a woman to ask about the mountain.

"You'll want to take the scenic mountain bus tour over there. It runs once a day but there is a guide to give you information about the mountain." She said pointing.

Amira got on the bus and sighed. It was going to be a long trip. Leorio got on beside her with Kurapika and Gon taking the seat in front of them.

The woman started speaking but Amira tuned her out. She rested her head against the glass and closed her eyes. Any kind of travel always made her tired.

Leorio leaned over and whispered in her ear. "Be on guard. There's some guys back there who look very suspicious."

Amira nodded her head. A few minutes later, she felt Leorio's head on her head and a snore came out. She soon drifted asleep too.

"Wake up, Leorio. Amira, you need to wake up." Kurapika said.

Amira opened her eyes to see the bus had stopped. Leorio sat up rubbing his eyes.

"Are we there yet?" He asked.

"Yes. Now come on." Kurapika said with a roll of his eyes.

The two got off the bus and stared in shock at the huge gates before them.

"This is the front gate of the Zoldyck estate." The tour guide said with a smile.

Amira walked away from the boys and touched the gate. A light push did not move it.

'It's very heavy.' She thought as she tuned into the tour guide.

"It's an assassins' hideout." She said.

Amira walked over. "Surly the Zodyck have had visitors who they wished to not kill? There must be a way in for guests."

The woman glared at Amira. "No one has ever been inside and lived to tell the tale."

"It's a sham." Said one man with a huge sword.

Another larger man with a brown coat on scoffed. "A family of assassins no one's ever seen?"

The other man smirked at Amira and winked. "If we snap a picture of them we will get a hundred million in reward money."

Amira huffed and looked away. 'What a creep.'

Leorio was shocked. "We could have taken a picture of Killua and gotten rich."

Amira walked over and lightly popped him on the back of his head. "Idiot. Don't talk about Killua like that."

He huffed crossing his arms before whispering, "stupid mother hen. Protecting that kid."

Amira rolled her eyes before turning to stare at the two man. Her eyes widened as the two man attacked the guard inside.

"Open up the gate." The larger man demanded.

"I can't. the master would not approve." The old guard said.

"Don't worry. We plan to kill your master." The sword man said.

The old guard glanced at the two before giving them a key. He was thrown on the ground and the two men made their way to the gate.

Gon and Amira ran over to the man.

"Are you ok?" Gon asked.

'Yes, I'll be alright." The guard said.

"Hey, Sweetheart." The sword man called.

Everyone turned to look at him and his friend who just smirked.

"Want to come with me? I'll show you how a real man fights." Sword man said with an obnoxious look.

Amira was about to speak when she felt a hand on her arm. She glanced at the guard who shook his head slightly with a pointed look.

The girl's eyes widened for a second before turning to the man. "No thanks. I've seen real men fight and you would just disappoint me."

The guy scoffed and the two disappeared through the door.

Amira looked at the old man and whispered. "That's not the real front door, is it?"

The old man's mouth twitched before looking at the door. "The master hates when Mike eats between meals."

Screams were heard and a few minutes later a huge paw came through the door dropping the skeletons of the two men on the ground.

The tour guide and the other guests started screaming. They ran to the bus in fear.

Gon, Amira, Leorio and Kurapika remained standing where they were staring at the gate.

Amira was frozen as fear filled her. 'it can't be. It can't be one of…them.'

"Well, shall we go in my office to talk on why you four are staying here?" The guard asked as he pulled a trashcan out of his office and placed the skeletons in it.

The four walked in and spent the next hour speaking about Killua and the hunter exam.

"So you are Killua's friends? I've worked her for the past 20 years, and Killua has never had any other friends to come visit." The old man said.

Amira sighed and picked up her tea, sipping it.

"No one ever visits so it's really lonely here." The man said. "People like them are the only ones who do. I'm so glad you are here however this does not mean I'm going to let you inside. You saw that beast's arm, right?"

The boys shared a look but Amira paled.

"The girl knows." The guard said looking at her. "That arm belongs to Mike. It's the Zoldycks' watchdog. It only obeys the family and attacks everyone else. Its orders were to kill all intruders who get inside and it has followed that order for over 10 years now."

Amira shuddered.

"I can't let you in. I do not want friends of master Killua to die." The guard said before taking a sip of his tea.

"How are you safe here when you can go inside? They would not have given you a key id you could not go in" Kurapika said.

"That's very perceptive." The guard smiled.

"It's the big doors, isn't it?" Amira asked.

"What doors?" Leorio asked confused.

The man smiled at Amira before turning to Kurapika, "You are only half right. The young miss is the correct one. I don't need a key to get inside as this key was made for intruders only."

He stood and motioned for the four to follow him outside.

"Intruders always went for the front gate. If I didn't open it, they would try to break it down. It was decided to add a door for the intruders to use and I would just give them the key if they asked." He said motioning to the wooden doors by the guard's building. "They take the key from the poor, helpless guard and Mike eats them for trespassing."

Kurapika suddenly turned his head to Amira with a look. She nodded her head.

"I'm not a security guard. I just clean up after mike when he eats intruders." The guy said.

"The front gate isn't actually locked after all." Kurapika said.

"What?" Leorio asked in confusion.

The five walked over to the gate.

"If it's not locked we just need to enter in." Leorio said and started pushing the doors.

The guard removed his jacket and walked over to the gate.

Amira stared in shock as nen suddenly pulled all over his body.

"This gate is called the testing gate. Anyone who is not strong enough to open it is not worthy of entering the Zoldyck Estate." He said pushing it open easily.

They stared in shock as it closed when he released the doors. "AS you can see the doors shut automatically and Mike has strict orders not to eat any who enter through this gate."

He walked over wiping his head. "I'm getting too old for this but I need to stay fit to open it or I lose my job. The first door weighs two tons each."

"First doors?" Leorio said in shock.

The man nodded his head. "There are seven in all and each set is twice as heavy as the doors before it. Master Killua opened doors One though Three."

"That's 12 tons." Gon said.

Kurapika sighed. "It's 16 tons, Gon."

Amira giggled at Gon's face. "It's ok, Gon. I'm not good at math either."

"Starting to get it now. This is what it takes just to get though the door." The guard said looking at them. "They live in a different world."

Gon sighed. "I don't like this. May I borrow the key?"

Amira and the others stared at him in shock.

"I didn't come all this way to be tested. I came so I could see my friend." Gon said. "Think of me as an intruder. So please let me borrow the key than I will go through the intruder's door."

"Gon." Kurapika said.

Leorio reached out to the boy. "Hey. Wait a minute."

Amira stepped over to the boy. "Absolutely not. You are not dying like that."

Gon shook his head. "Lend it to me or don't. I'm getting in. I will climb the wall if I have to."

"Don't be stupid. You saw that monster. It will kill you." Leorio said.

"We will find another way. Please don't do this." Amira said in fear.

"Why test your friends? It's crazy. There's no way I'm going through the door." Gon said.

"You will not be able to force your way in. Mike will kill you." The guard said.

Amira turned to the walls and touched the door ignoring the others behind her. She placed her hands on the door and forced all of her nen into her hands. She pushed and for a few minutes felt nothing. The door suddenly shifted forward an inch.

Losing control, the door slid shut. Behind her the guard watched quietly as the boys were arguing.

'so she can move it a little. I will need to report this to the head butler.' The guard said.

Amira glanced over as Gon called her name. "Come on, Amira."

She walked over to hear the guard speaking.

"Sorry to call but four of young master killua's friends are here and they would like to see him." The guard said.

They watched as he apologized over the phone. Just as the conversations was about the end the man said, "Also Master Illumi's package has arrived."

The man hung up and turned to the group. "I figured I would get yelled at."

"You called the house for us?" Gon asked.

The man shook his head. "No, I was speaking with the family butler. All communication goes through him first."

"Can you get him on the phone again?" Gon asked. "I want to talk to him."

The man sighed before nodding his head. "I can but you are not going to enjoy it."

The three friends watched as Gon spoke to the butler. From Gon's tone, it was not going well.

They jumped as Gon started to yell.

Amira bit her lip while glancing at the guard. He shook his head. She sighed and stepped outside walking to the door.

'There has to be a way in.' she thought as she put her hands on the doors and forced nen into them pushing. Again the door only moved a few inches before closing.

Gon suddenly stormed out of the building and sent his fishing hook to the top of the gate.

"You three can wait here. I'm going in alone." Gon said.

"I can't let you do that." Leorio said in annoyance.

"I'll be fine." Gon said.

"No, you won't." Leorio shouted back.

"Look, boy of you need to calm down." Kurapika said looking between the two.

Amira frowned and reached out to them. She said, "Calm down. Take a breath. We will figure this out."

'how interesting.' He thought.

Gon climbed down and huffed. "We need to go after Killua."

"I know Gon, but we need to think this through. How would Killua feel if we died at his home?" Amira said with a sad look.

"Here, Gon. I will give you the key. You can go through the door, alright?" the guard said.

All four turned to stare at him confused.

"I will go through the door with you. There is a chance mike won't attack if I'm with you but there is a larger chance he will kill us all." The guard said.

Gon shook his head. "I don't want to cause any trouble for you."

"Too late. I'm coming. If stay, there will be trouble." He said with a look. "If you die, I would never be able to look Master Killua in the eyes again so it's better if I die along side of you."

Gon sighed but nodded his head. "I'm sorry. I didn't think about your situation."

Amira and the others smiled. It was just like Gon to act this way.

"You like animals, Gon?" The guard asked.

Gon nodded his head.

"I'm going to open the testing gate so you can see Mike with your own eyes." The man said.

He walked over and opened the doors.

"Are you sure we can come in?" Leorio asked.

"Yes. You came through the testing gate so you will be fine." The guard said.

Kurapika looked back at Amira who stood with her back against the gate. "Are you going to come closer?"

Amira shook her head. "I know what that creature is. I'm good all the way over here."

The boys frowned as the guard yelled out, "Mike. Come here."

A few minutes later a growling noise was heard. Out of the darkness came the creature. Its eyes lit up in the darkness as it moved around the kids.

"Do you now see, Gon? This is a hunting beast. A highly trained one at that." The guard said.

The others shook with fear as they backed up.

"You thought you could communicate with him but he is not like any other creature you have encountered. Mike is memorizing appearances and scents of you all. His sole focus is on you. Do you think you could fight him?" The guard asked with a tilt of his head.

Gon shook his head. "No."

The guard turned to him. "How long will you stay here?"

Gon glared "Until we see Killua and we're not leaving a second before."

The guard sighed. "All right. Follow me."

Amira walked over quickly to follow. A nudge to the back of her head had her staring in shock as Mike appeared to be sniffing her. She quickly ran to catch up with the others.

A figure appeared in the woods watching. They pulled a phone out to report everything to the boss.
