19-year-old Killua Zoldyck walked with his friend, Gon Freeze, through the village. Behind them Kurapika and Leorio were talking about work. Life had changed for the four friends.
Leorio was a doctor who treated those who were on a fixed income. Kurapika was a head guard for a mafia family. Killua and Gon were blacklist hunters.
"I can't believe dad ordered me home. I hate going home." Killua said with a sigh.
Gon smiled, "We could always leave and not go."
Killua laughed. "Dad would be furious."
Alluka ran over with a smile. "Brother, look it's a new pokke flavor. The shop has a lot of new flavors including blueberry."
She popped the food into her mouth with a smile humming in pleasure.
Killua snickers and took one of the bags of food opening it to take a bite with a smile. "Cinnamon. Not Bad."
Alluka had been traveling with the two since Killua rescued her from that trapped room. Nanika enjoyed coming out and seeing the world as well. She knew that if she did not want Alluka to be locked up that she could not ask someone for anything.
The two went with Killua and Gon on their assignments and made sure to keep their supplies in order.
"I'm sure your father has a reason for calling you back home." Kurapika said with a smile.
"Why did he call us though?" Leorio said with a frown. "It makes me nervous."
The white-haired youth shook his head in mirth. "I wish we could ignore it and take off, but dad has a butler following us."
Gon smiled. "I know. he has been following us since we left the airship."
The five turned and waited. A few minutes later, a black butler appeared.
"Good afternoon, Master Killua, Mistress Alluka and master's friends. My name is Fredrick." The butler said with a smile. "By orders of Master Silva, I am to escort you to the Zoldyck mansion."
Killua sighed. "Yeah. Yeah. Let's get this over with."
The group walked to a limo that was waiting where another butler was standing. The female bowed and opened the back door. "Master Killua, Mistress Alluka and master's friends. Welcome. Master Zeno is waiting in the car for you."
Killua's eyes widened. "Grandfather Zeno is here?"
The female butler said nothing. She only motioned to the car.
The five got into the limo to see the older man sitting there with a smile.
The door was shut and soon the limo was moving.
"Welcome home. I see you brought your friends. Good. It will be an interesting day." Zeno said with a glint in his eyes. "Tell me of your adventures."
The car ride was spent with the five telling Zeno about things they had seen and learned.
Killua looked out the window seeing the trees and cliffs of home. He turned to look at his grandfather with a tilt of his head.
"Why did dad call us to come home?" Killua asked.
Zeno's eyes glinted in amusement. "Illumi is getting married."
Everyone's eyes widened in shock.
"What?" Gon said while staring at the man in confusion.
Killua was no different. "Someone actually agreed to marry that psycho?"
"Bet she is crazy like him." Leorio said to Kurapika.
Zeno nodded his head. "Yes. Illumi found her years ago and has been molding her into the perfect wife."
Leorio frowned. "Molded her? What does that mean?"
"He has decided his wife will not join the assassination business but be a stay-at-home wife and mother. Illumi's bride has lessons about how to be a good wife such as running a household, how to be a good wife in bed, what's expected to be a proper lady in front of guests and other such things. Very different from what was expected of Illumi's wife, but it was agreed upon since he swore his children would be trained to be assassins." Zeno said with his eyes on his grandson.
Killua stared at his grandfather in confusion. "He found her years ago? When?"
Zeno's eyes narrowed as he looked at his grandson. "Yes. He had met her years ago and observed her through several different trials. He knew she was the perfect candidate. She made a real impression on him."
Killua frowned and glanced outside the window as he thought about what his grandfather said. 'Illumi found her years ago and she passed several trials to impress him. Illumi rarely leaves the mansion except for missions. The only time he was around other people to approve someone for was…." Killua's eyes widened 'The hunter exam.'
His head jerked toward his grandfather with his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Who is she?"
Gon turned to his friend in confusion seeing his bloodlust. "Killua?"
The other three stared at their friend in confusion as the feeling the bloodlust coming from Killua.
Zeno raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Killua leaned forward and yelled. "WHO IS ILLUMI'S BRIDE?"
The limo stopped outside the house and Zeno glanced at his grandson. "Your father is in his office. You and your friends will meet with him there."
Zeno got out and disappeared into the manner.
Killua shook in rage.
Alluka squeezed her brother's hand. "What's wrong, big brother."
Gon placed a hand on Killua's shoulder. "Killua, what's going on? Talk to us."
"Come on. We need to talk to my father." He hissed while getting out of the car.
Leorio and Kurapika shared a confused look. Something was not right.
They walked through the mansion ignoring the butlers standing there. Gon frowned as there seemed to be a lot more butlers in the hall than the last time he came here as a child.
"Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot more butlers around than usual?" Leorio said in confusion.
Kurapika nodded his head. "It does seem security has been raised. It's like they are expecting someone to attack the mansion."
Killua snorted in mocking amusement. He knew exactly what was going on. They were not here to protect someone from attacking from the outside, but they were here to keep him from murdering his brother. He had a feeling he knew who the bride was. If it was true than he was going to kill his brother.
The two arrived at the office and Killua knocked at the door. The door was opened a few minutes later and a man appeared.
"Master Killua, Mistress Alluka, Master Killua's friends. I am head butler, Jamal. Master Silva awaits you." The man said taking a step back.
The five entered in to see a huge silver haired male sitting on a large cushion across the room. To his left was Zeno and to his right was Killua's mother, Kikyo.
"Killua. Your home." The woman said with a smile.
The 17-year-old ignored his mother and went to stand before his father. His eyes narrowed at the man in anger. "It's her, isn't it?"
Gon looked between the two. 'Her?'
Leorio frowned while Kurapika frowned.
Silva sighed. "Yes."
Bloodlust filled the air as Killua glared harsher.
"What has he done to her?" Killua said in anger with his eyes glowing red.
Leorio frowned looking at the two. "Calm down."
"Killua, what's going on?" Gon asked with concern in his voice.
"We now know where Amira has been, Gon." Killua said in anger.
Gon, Kurapika and Leorio froze as it registered what Killua meant.
"Amira? Your friend who died?" Alluka asked in shock. "She's oldest brother's bride?"
Gon's eyes moved to Silva. "What have you all done to Amira?"
Silva sighed. "We have done nothing. Illumi has chosen your friend as his bride. Just as Killua and the others know. They have until their 30th birthday to find their own wife who was worthy of holding the Zoldyck name or I would pick for them. Illumi has chosen Amira."
"What was done to her?" Killua asked in anger.
Silva frowned at his son. "What was done was to Illumi's specifications which you are aware of. Each of you may choose a bride. Willing or not. You may mold her in your requirements to meet your expectations as long as they pass our expectations. Amira passed with flying colors. Illumi controlled her training and made her into the wife he wanted. She will make a great bride for my oldest son."
"You just kidnap people to marry you? They have no choice even if they don't want to marry you? That's wrong." Leorio said in fury.
The man stood and motioned to them. "I will take you to your friend but know that your friend is not the person you will remember. She has been changed to fit her role as Illumi's wife. She will never know fear. She will never know starvation. She will never struggle for the remainder of her life. She will live the life of luxury until the day she dies. Illumi handpicked the guards for her protection and has trained them himself to protect Amira and any children she will bear."
The four hunters did not say a word.
Silva walked out of the room with the entire group following.
"Where is Amira?" He asked without looking back.
Jemal pulled out his phone to check her schedule. "Mistress Amira is in her garden reading. She prefers the coolness from the mornings and evenings to visiting the garden. She is sensitive in the heat due to the heat punishment Illumi gave for disobeying him."
"What heat punishment?" Gon asked confused.
The man turned to the hunters. "Master Illumi had her locked into a metal box during the hottest parts of the day. She slipped away from her butler guards and was found in the woods alone trying to escape. Master Illumi was not happy."
The look on the hunters' faces was mixed between furious and concerned.
"What is this about her garden?" Killua said with a frown.
"Master Illumi has prepared Mistress Amira her own garden. It was a reward for behaving so well. No one except the gardener, Master Zeno, Master Silva, the mistress's butlers and Master Illumi are allowed to enter without permission." Jemal said while adjusting his glasses.
Silvera led the group to a stone wall with a blue door. He knocked on the door and spoke. "I'm coming in. I have guests to see Amira."
They walked in and the hunters looked around. It was a beautiful garden filled with different colors of flowers. There was cloth covered chairs in different parts of the garden that were made to be pleasing to the eye and fit into the surrounding. A swing was hanging from one branch. It was beautiful.
Suddenly, Killua gasped in shock. The others looked at him confused before looking to where he was staring. Their eyes widened when it landed on the Gazebo.
On the gazebo was three people. Two were butlers standing to the left and right of a couch. Canary was standing there watching them with a blank look on her face while the other was watching the only other person who was there with the butlers, a fancy lady in an emerald, green dress. It had taken them all a minute to realize it was Amira. She looked completely different from when they saw her that day at the airport.
Amira was curled up with her feet tucked beside her on the couch with a book in her hands. A pair of green slippers were on the ground before them. Her outfit was something none of the males ever expected Amira to wear. Its collar went across her chest and rested on the edge of her shoulder blades. Lace straps ran up her shoulders holding the dress up. A green corset held the front of the dress close to her chest. It had long-sleeved see-through lace sleeves that ended by her wrists. Around her neck was a lace choker collar with a green stone with the Zoldyck crest on it. Her ears had green sapphires in them that matched the necklace. Amira's hair was pulled back into a twisted bun on the back of her head with a beaded headband on the top of her head. The gems on the headband sparkled in the light making everyone realize that the headband had sapphires on it.
"Welcome home, brother." Illumi said appearing out of the shadows to appear behind where Amira was sitting.
He placed his hands on the young woman's shoulders. Amira looked up from her book with a glance at Illumi before turning to look at the group before them. She shifted to an upright position and slipped on her shoes sitting perfectly straight with her ankles crossed and her hands holding the book resting on her lap.
The four hunters could do nothing but stare in shock at the changes. Her eyes were not as blank as Illumi's but it was obvious that the spark that was Amira was no longer there. Her skin was pale as if she did not spend much time in the sun. She looked delicate like a flower. One harsh wind would blow her away. The strong hunter they knew 7 years ago was gone.
"Amira?" Gon said taking a step forward.
Canary and the other butler moved forward to stand a step closer to them with Amira protected behind them watching Gon. Canary had her staff out and the other butler pulled a blade out.
The young man glared at the two. "I would never hurt my friend."
"Stand down." Silva said with a look at Illumi.
Illumi waved his hand, and the butlers took two steps back behind the couple. Their eyes never left the four hunters.
Kurapika could do nothing but stare in sadness at the state of his friend. Leorio was looking at her closely to see for visible injuries. Alluka frowned at the appearance of the woman. She looked like a glass doll that could easily be broken.
Killua was shaking in rage. "What did you do?"
Everyone turned to stare at Killua.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO AMIRA?" Killua screamed at the man.
A thud was heard, and everyone turned to see that Amira had dropped her book while staring at Killua with fear.
It was a punch to the gut to the young man. "Amira?"
"Enough. You are scaring my bride." Illumi said with a blank look at Killua as Canary picked up the book offering it to Amira.
"Mistress Amira, your book." Canary said watching the woman.
Amira took the book whispering a thank you while clutching it to her watching the others with a fearful look. It was a stab in the heart to all of them.
Illumi walked around the butler to the other side of the couch taking a seat by Amira.
He placed his arm around the young woman pulling her close. "I have made Amira into the perfect bride. She's very happy with her place here. Aren't you, Amira?"
"Of course, Illumi. I'm very happy here with my family." Amira said with a small smile.
"How can you say that? What about your dream of helping people?" Killua said in frustration. "You perfected your healing to help those who couldn't afford a doctor."
Amira stared blankly at Killua.
"Now, KIllua, darling. Amira is a perfect bride for your brother." Kikyo said with a smile. She walked up and took a seat on the other side of Amira. "We have gotten to know each other, and she is the perfect bride. Illumi has done well on choosing her especially with that healing gift. It will be perfect for our house. We will be able to use it for ourselves."
Kikyo reached out and ran a finger down Amira's cheek. "Just think of all the cute grandbabies she is going to give me. It's so exciting."
"I'll save you, Amira." Killua said with a glare at his brother.
Amira tilted her head staring at the young man in confusion.
"She's perfectly safe her. Isn't that right, Amira?" Illumi said with a tilt of his head.
Amira nodded her head before saying, "I'm perfectly safe with Illumi. I don't need saving."
"He kidnapped you. He tortured you. He is keeping you a prisoner here." Killua said while pointing at Illumi.
Amira's face went blank. "Illumi did what he did to make me the perfect bride. He helped me to be a better person by punishing my mistakes and correcting them. He is protecting me from the dangers on the outside world. Here I am safe. Here I am loved. Here, I will be free from worry and danger. I will remain by Illumi's side."
Everyone could see Killua was becoming angry with the glare on his face. Before Killua could say anything else, Illumi stood.
"I believe you should rest before dinner, darling." Illumi said holding out his hand.
Amira rose and took his hand.
Illumi led her down the steps of the gazebo with a frown at his brother. "You may meet with Amira once you have calmed down."
Before the four could say anything else. Illumi led Amira away. They watched as two more butlers appeared walking behind the other two.
"Those four are tasked with protecting Amira. Their only job is to protect her. Failure will result in torture and death, but rewards are great. They are treated on a different level than other butlers and want for nothing." Silva said. "Come. Jemal, show Killua's friends to the guest rooms. I assume you two remember where your rooms are."
"Yes, Master Silva." Jemal said.
The group moved out the door and were soon given guest rooms. They were instructed to remain there for an hour to rest.
Gon
Gon was sitting on his bed glaring at his hands. He had sat there for an hour just glaring at them. A knock at the door had him looking up to see his other friends walk in sitting on the floor or other furniture.
"What do we do?" Kurapika said.
Leorio sighed. "Just from those few minutes of seeing her shows some trauma to the mind. Psychological abuse is hard to overcome and could take years to correct. It's likely there is also a strong form of Stockholm syndrome in play as well. She will need some major psychiatric treatment from what she suffered under Illumi's instructions. Who knows what other physical torture was used on her."
"I can't believe she was here this entire time." Gon said with a frown. "We became blacklist hunters because we wanted to find out what happened to Amira. How long do you think he has had her here?"
Killua sat there staring at the ground. "This is all my fault. If I hadn't come home, none of you would have followed me and Illumi would not have captured her."
Alluka leaned over and hugged Killua. "I'm sorry, brother."
"Your wrong." A voice said.
The four looked to the door to see Kalluto standing there.
"Kalluto?" Killua said looking in confusion.
Kalluto walked in and took a seat on the floor by his siblings. "Your wrong about Illumi capturing her. He intended to capture her before you came here. His interest started during the hunter's exam before the last phase he had already had a butler waiting. He was planning on taking her than but decided to hold off when he learned she would be accompanying the others to come to our home. He decided to test her to see if she had the drive to open the testing gates."
"He had already chosen to take her before the exam ended. He knew he was going to marry her from the hunter's exam?" Kurapika said in shock.
Kalluto nodded his head. "Yes. She impressed him."
"When?" Killua asked. "When did he take her?"
Kalluto sighed. "Amira never left Padokia."
Their eyes widened in shock.
"Seven years. She has been here for seven years." Gon said in shock.
Killua's eyes widened. "I didn't see her when I came to get Alluka and Nanika. I didn't even realize, and I was right here."
Kalluto glared at his brother. "Of course not. The minute the butlers were made aware you were here, Amira was moved to a hidden room. It was orders from Illumi that you were not to know about his bride until his wedding day. By then, Amira would be the perfect bride."
"We have to get her out. We have to save her." Gon said with determination.
"And do what with her?" Kalluto said with a tilt of his head.
The others turned to stare at her in confusion.
"Your friend is not the same person she was when you met her. Illumi broke her down to a shell of a person before filling her back up with his desires for a wife." Kalluto said with a blank face. "He used torture that is used on us starting as children on her. She was strong in the beginning, but everyone has their breaking points."
"no." Killua said in horror. His mind playing over different tortures the had gone through as a child.
"Yes." Kalluto said with a look at his brother. "Speak with your friend and see but it's too late to save her. She has only one desire now and that is to please Illumi. Her world revolves around him and the family. Taking her away from the only world she now knows would crush her. She would not be able to survive on the outside now."
"It's time for dinner." A voice said.
The group turned to see a butler standing there watching them.
Killua and the others followed the butler into the dining room. The other family members were already there. Silva was sitting at the head of the table with Zeno on his left and Kikyo on his right. Beside Zeno was Milluki with Kalluto taking the seat by him. Beside Kikyo was Illumi and beside him was Amira. She had been changed in another outfit. A dark blue dress that covered all her skin except for her hands, throat, and head. Her Zoldyck necklace had been changed to a blue diamond and ribbon with the Zoldyck family symbol on it. Her hair had been let down but was held back with a blue headband with blue sapphires on it.
Leorio moved quickly and took a place beside Amira.
The others shared a look before taking seats. Kurapika took the last seat by Leorio on the right side of the table. Gon took a seat by Kalluto with Alluka taking the last seat. Killua took the seat at the end of the table facing his father.
A few minutes later, plates of food were brought in and placed before everyone. Milluki started joking about some new virus he had that would destroy computer systems. Killua's mom was going on about the wedding and how excited she was to have a daughter.
Killua noticed Leorio freeze as Amira pushed some hair that had fallen behind her ear. He glanced at her and saw what upset the man. His hand tightened on his fork causing it to bend.
"A new fork, Master Killua." A female butler said while holding out a new fork.
Killua handed the bent fork taking the new one to eat.
It was near the end of the meal that Leorio decided to act.
Leorio turned to Amira and watched her eat.
"So Amira, tell me what do you do during the day? I'm sure it gets lonely with only the butlers for company." Leorio said watching for signs of distress. "They don't seem like the most talkative bunch."
Amira glanced at him before looking at Illumi. The man stared at Leorio with a blank look before nodding his head.
Amira turned to Leorio with a smile. "I spend the mornings reading or embroidering in my garden. I have lessons before lunch at 1. I usually learn things like how to play an instrument or do flower arrangements but I'm currently learning the best method to take care of a child and how to be a pleasing wife. After lunch, I rest in my room for an hour. The afternoon consists of either drawing or reading. Sometimes I have tea with mother discussing books or hearing family stories. The evenings before dinner I either spend it with Illumi reading or listening to music."
"You have to be careful going out. Wouldn't want a cold or to become ill with a virus." Leorio said with a smile.
Amira smiled. "The Zoldyck family has the best doctors on staff. The minute I start feeling ill, the doctor visits to correct it. On the days it's not good to go outside, I go to the library. I have a section that is just for me filled with my favorite genre like fantasy and adventure."
Leorio nodded his head. "That's good. Do you ever go shopping in town? The city has some beautiful shops. I believe I have even seen a few bookstores that looked to have some interesting stuff."
Amira's face went pale. "No. it's too dangerous to go out there. Illumi can get me anything I need or want. I just need to ask his permission."
Leorio's face tensed before he forced a smile on his face. "Yes. It can be dangerous at points. However, there are beautiful points too. Beautiful places to see. Food to try. It would be sad if you couldn't view it."
Amira nodded her head. "that's true. Illumi said for our honeymoon he would take me somewhere safe. My butlers and a few others will be joining us as butlers to protect me when I leave the mansion. He promised vacation trips a couple times a year with the butlers there to protect me."
Leorio nodded his head. "It's good to have protection. You were a good fighter yourself. You definitely put a good show during the hunter exam."
Amira's face went blank. "Hunter's exam?"
Leorio's eyes narrowed and went to Illumi. "Yes. The hunter's exam. You passed with Gon, Kurapika, Illumi and me. Do you not remember?"
Amira frowned and rubbed her forehead as a headache started to appear. The other family members watched. Some watched in boredom while some watched in amusement. Kalluto watched in pity thinking of the woman who Amira was before Illumi tortured her into his perfect wife.
"I…I don't…..Illumi." Amira said turning to her fiancé in destress.
Illumi reached out and squeezed Amira's hand. "You did pass the exam but no longer need it. You are to be my wife and bear my children. You only need me. I will protect you from the outside world. When I am not here, your butlers will protect you. I trained them to be the best. You only need to be happy, follow your schedule I have set up for you and love me as well as our children you will bear."
Amira blinked for a few minutes processing what he said before nodding. "Your right. This is all I need to do."
She turned her eyes to Silva. "Father, may I be excused. I'm getting a headache and would like to rest."
Silva nodded his head. "Jemal, have someone bring medication to Amira's room. Canary, you will check on your mistress in one hour and report her condition to Illumi."
"Yes, Master Silva" Canary said with a nod of her head.
"Excuse me." Amira said with a smile.
Amira rose and left the room with her four guards following her.
Illumi turned to look at Leorio. "Are you satisfied, doctor?"
Leorio frowned glaring at the man. "Physical health wise, Amira is fine. Mentally health wise, no. I'm not satisfied. I see the damage to her mind, and it concerns me. You have stripped her of who she is and replaced it with a puppet who lives on your whims. Does Amira even know who we are? I saw the marks hidden under the makeup. I recognize the discolored marks from electroshock therapy on the sides of her forehead. How much of her memories did you wipe with that?"
Gon and the others stared in confusion and horror.
"What are you talking about, Leorio?" Gon asked baffled.
Illumi picked up his glass and took a drink. "She was having mood swings from missing you all and others she met before coming here. It needed to be managed. She knows you are friends she had in the past. You all went your separate ways, and she became my bride. She has no family to return to. I checked. Her father, stepmother and the rest of her family died during the Chamira Ant epidemic. Her village was completely wiped out by the ants. This is her world now. Only here matters now."
"We will save her." Killua said in anger.
"From what?" Illumi said looking at his brother. "She has a home where she gets the best meals imaginable. Doctors are on staff to stop any sickness from occurring. She has the best clothing and wants for nothing. All she has to do is ask for it and it is given to her. You would take her away and do what with her? Her mind has been torn down and built up to be the perfect wife and mother. She is deprived nothing she wants."
Killua stood in anger glaring at the man. "I will give her the freedom that you deprived her of."
"What will you do with her after you rescue her from me?" Illumi said with a tilt of his head. "Will the doctor take care of her while dealing with his busy clinic? Will the guard take care of her when he is contracted to wealthy families? Will you or Gon take her on your black hit hunter trips? Or will Alluka be the one forced to take care of her?"
Killua stared in shock as the others besides Leorio looked confused at Illumi's statement.
Illumi tilted his head at his brother looking him in his eyes. "She will not survive without someone taking care of her and making the decisions for her. I ensured that when I started molding her. I deprived her of any human contact for over 5 months. I made sure to be the first human contact she saw and gave comfort to her. I punished her with unique treatments when she tried to resist and guided her in the way I expected her to act. I taught her that only I and the butlers would protect her from the evil that is out there. Only with us will she be safe to venture out there. I tell her what to wear, what to eat and what she will do each day. I am the one who runs her life to my design. Just as a good husband should. She doesn't do anything without my express permission."
Illumi rose and walked around the table to where his brother was standing. He leaned down and said in his ear loud enough for the others to hear.
"You take her from here and she will be in a worse situation because she will seek guidance from anyone, and I mean anyone. Imagine if someone like Hisoka or Chrollo Lucifer got her. What would they do to her? A broken woman with a strong healing ability waiting to be molded into the holder's desire. If you keep her with you than you will have to put her in a mental hospital when you grow tired of her depending on you. It will take years upon years to undo the changes I made to her mind and there is a chance it will not happen at all. She will be locked in a hospital for the rest of her life with only doctors, nurses and other mental patients as companions. She will not be given the freedom she has here. Ask your doctor. He knows the truth."
Leorio glared at the man but did not say anything. He knew the man was right. The others stared in shocked horror at the truth.
Illumi smirked at his brother who trembled where he stood. "You are seven years too late. She said you and your friends would rescue her at the beginning. As time went on, those threats became less and less. I broke her down to make her who she is today. Amira would never willingly go with you now. She trusts only a handful of people I told her to trust. You try to take her by force, you and your friends will be the villains in this story. The kidnappers who stole Amira from her loving fiancé."
The man turned and walked to the door. He stopped and looked over his shoulder at his brother. "I can promise you that Amira will be treated as the queen she is. She will want for nothing. Tomorrow she will swear herself to me as my wife. We will go on to have children who will grow up to be assassins. Face it, brother. Amira is mine and there is nothing you can do about it. This time you lose."
Illumi walked out the door without looking back at his brother.
Silva lifted his glass and took a drink watching his third son. Sitting it down, he decided to speak not only to his son but his son's friends as well.
"You know the rules, Killua. Illumi is right about one thing. You and your friends had seven years to look for Amira. You have a hunter's license that could have been used to see if she had even made it to her destination or left our homeland, but you didn't do that. You all failed your friend. The woman is right where she is supposed to be. Nothing you can do will change that."
He rose and moved away from the table. "Just a word of advice, don't try and kidnap Amira. I know for certain that Illumi has that bizarre friend of his, the magician clown, to help guard his fiancé tonight until the wedding tomorrow. The butlers are also on guard to make sure none of you interfere in the wedding. Illumi has chosen his bride and tomorrow he will have her whether you like it or not."
The next day
Gon and the others watched Amira marry Illumi. They tried to interfere but found they were attached to their chairs and their mouths were closed tight. One look at Hisoka told them why they couldn't say or do anything.
Amira was dressed up in a white dress that the old her would never have worn. It screamed Illumi's name with the design. Everything about the wedding screamed that Illumi and Kikyo had designed the wedding to their preference.
Amira and Illumi left for their secret honeymoon with Amira's personal butlers as well as a dozen other butlers.
In Gon's room, the five sat there melancholy. Kalluto appeared with a tray of glasses and two bottles of alcohol.
He poured the drinks out handing it to each one.
All of them thought about the Firey hunter who was not afraid to test limits with those around her who had become a domesticated puppet wife for a sadistic man. They were not drinking in celebration but in grief and morning for their friend. They had failed her and now she was lost to them forever.
