Chapter 7: Baby, It's Cold Outside
After awhile, everyone was finished and applauded their hard work. "OK, everybody! It's time to light the tree!" Granny Phillips smiled.
"Hold on! Seems like we got a little problem here." Grandpa Phillips said.
"What now?" Lucy groaned.
"I can't reach the top of the tree from this ladder anymore." Grandpa Phillips said.
"Well, come on down, Mr. Phillips. Maybe I can help." Barney offered.
"You can probably reach the top of the tree from the ladder, Barney." Grandpa Phillips said.
"Well, he's certainly taller than anyone else." Peggy said.
"Maybe so, Mister Phillips..." Barney commented "But let's try this!" and he tossed the star in the air.
"THE STAR!" the kids gasped as the star landed atop the tree perfectly and turned on all the lights.
"Oooooooooh!" Snoopy and Woodstock cheered.
"Well I'll be." Peggy Jean commented. "Barney magic IS amazing!"
"Told you." Lucy smirked.
Barney, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy new year
Glad tiding we bring
To you and your friends
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy new year
"Hot chocolate?" Janice's older sister offered to the kids.
"Thanks!" Linus smiled.
"This is great!" Barney chuckled.

(AROOOOOOOO!)
Grandma Phillips smiled 'I'd like to thank Henrietta for taking time out of her schedule to help with the charity drive and to the Beagle Scouts for their contributions to our annual food drive. But most importantly, I'd like to thank all of you for bringing ornaments to make the tree the most beautiful it's ever been."
"EEEEEE!" Lucy squealed.
"And I'd especially love to thank my granddaughter Beth and her friends, for finding and bringing our lovely star." Grandma Phillips added.
"Thanks, Granny. And we have somethings we want to say too." Beth smiled. "Starting with Linus."
Linus stepped forward. "Every year, I recite passages from the bible. Tonight, I'm gonna share my favorite. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger". And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men"."
Everyone clapped, especially Janice and Lucy "Your first big Christmas speech at the park." The latter beamed.
"Thank you, Linus. And finally, we ALL just want to say..." Beth looked over at all her friends.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY! MERRY CHRISTMAS!" the kids and dinosaurs all said in unison.
"Alright, everyone, we've still got some gifts to wrap, back at the caboose. Come on!" Grandma Phillips explained.
"Oh boy! Oh boy!" Barney chuckled as he, Baby Bop, BJ, the kids and the animals stayed behind, along with most of the Peanuts Gang's family.
"The tree looks terrific!" Rerun exclaimed.
"It sure does!" BJ agreed.
"Great job, everyone." Mrs. Van Pelt praised.
"Our very first Christmas in the park is a hit!" Peppermint Patty chuckled as she hugged Marcie.
"We sure had a lot of fun, up in your grandpa's attic, Beth!" Pigpen smiled.
"And I liked watching the Christmas tree light up!" Baby Bop smiled.
"Thanks, everyone. It really was a special day." Beth replied.
Heather rubbed her hands together to keep them warm "A-a-a-and we'll g-get to do S-s-Secret Santa, in the C-c-c-caboose..."
"Heather, your hands are freezing!" Charlie Brown gasped before holding her hands. "There we go. I really want your pretty hands to stay warm."
"Thank you, Charlie." Heather shivered a little.
Lila smiled "This is definitely a special Christmas." She said before Snoopy handed her a cup of hot chocolate. "Thanks, Snoopy."
"It certainly is a special Christmas." Barney commented as they all watched the tree glow.
"But everyday is special when we spend it with family and friends you love." Heather smiled.
"Awwww..." the kids smiled.
Barney:
I love you
You love me
We're a happy family
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too?
"We DO love you, Barney!" Peggy smiled.
Barney, Baby Bop, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
I love you
You love me
We're best friends like friends should be
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too?
"Lots of holiday hugs!" Barney smiled as the kids wrapped him in a big hug.
"Oh, BJ! You promised me to make me hot chocolate!" Baby Bop remembered.
"Oh yeah, you're right, Sissy! And we're going to put those itty, bitty marshmallows on top!" BJ smiled. "Bye guys! See you later!"
"Bye Baby Bop, bye BJ!" the kids smiled and waved as the two disappeared in a trace of magic sparkles.
"Come on everybody! It's almost time for Secret Santa!" Heather smiled. The kids then rushed towards the Caboose.
"Are you coming, Barney?" Beth asked to which she turned around and saw Barney, back in doll form. "Come on, Barney. Let's get going!"
