Chapter 8: The Gift of Giving
Inside the Caboose, after wrapping all of the gifts for charity, Heather cleared her throat. "OK everybody! It's time for SECRET SANTA!" she announced with glee. "Charlie, your present is up first!"
"Why thank you, Heather." Charlie Brown smiled, opening his gift which turned out to be an autographed baseball. "NO WAY! Signed by Joe Shlabotnik?! This is amazing!"
"My turn!" Heather smiled, opening her gift to find a pair of homemade gloves. "Homemade unicorn gloves? These are truly special!"
"Thanks, Heather. Glad you like them." Charlie Brown said before covering his mouth. "Ooops!"
Heather giggled and kissed his cheek. "Franklin's turn, next."
Franklin smiled and opened his Secret Santa gift. "How thoughtful! A new football!"
Schroeder curiously opened his Secret Santa gift. "A new Beethoven bust! Perfect!"
"Oh brother..." Lucy thought before opening her gift. "A diary! Now i can write about my fantasies in it!"
Snoopy hummed before seeing his gift: a wooly sweater with the words "DOG LIPS" on it. "HAHA!" he laughed.
"A Nemo plushy!" Lila gasped as she saw her gift. "ILOVEIT! ILOVEIT! ILOVEIT!"
"It's nice when someone knows what you like." Pigpen commented before seeing his gift. "Alright! A bucket and shovel! Perfect for mud pies!"
Kami giggled before seeing her gift: a toy train. "Awwww, how cute. ALL ABOARD!" she announced.
"Oh Kami..." the kids laughed before seeing Marcie already enjoying her gift: a copy of 'The Prince and the Pauper'.
"Who got her a book?" Kevin questioned.
Woodstock shrugged before seeing his gift: a handmade birdhouse. He jumped for joy and climbed in it. It was perfect.
"Doesn't take much to make him happy." Peppermint Patty said as she saw her Secret Santa gift: a new hockey helmet. "COOL!"
"WOW! IT'S A TRUCK!" Darnell gasped. "I LOVE IT!"
"And I love my new gift too!" Janice smiled, sporting a very festive Christmas hat.
Linus giggled as he saw his gift. "Sewing supplies! THEY'RE PERFECT!" he pulled out both pieces of torn blanket from his backpack. "Now I can fix it, good as new!"
"The newest Snoozy Suzy set?!" Sally gasped. "It's no Barbie Dreamhouse, but it's the next best thing!"
"WHOA! A RACECAR!" exclaimed Kevin. "LOOKOUT! HERE IT COMES!"
"Oh my!" Peggy Jean gasped before opening her gift. "A SOCCERBALL! I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT OUT!"
Rerun smiled sleepily, hugging his new plush dog. "You're beautiful." He murmured as his mom wrapped an arm around him.
"Check out this teddy bear." Beth told the Barney doll before smiling. "Best Secret Santa ever."
"Merry Christmas, Barney." Lucy said, putting a little tinsel around the Barney doll.
