An excerpt from the cosmology of stars. Page seventy three, Chapter one. A book lost to time
"When the stars first formed, when the warp was infantile and limited in nature, before the chaos, before the war... There were three. The creators are one of ideation, one of lumination, and one of absence. The three existed in the newborn universe and together sought to make life. Yet conflict between lumination and absence arose. Absence wanted their creations to be strong, able to survive even the harshest conditions. Yet Lumination, out of jealousy or competitiveness, wanted her creations to best their sister's creation. Over countless years, they bickered, creating race after race: C'tan, Eldar, Orcs, Skaven... Yet none were perfect in their vision.
Ideation, unlike his siblings, did not bicker. He paid no mind to them and instead focused on his own creations, as well as a system of planets. The sun, the light, separating the water from the firmament. The creations he made, he considered his children, humanity. Not as strong, not as fast, but with unending potential to surpass the other races.. An unlimited imagination.,
He was proud of his children. Yet his siblings were not so. They were livid. How dare he make a race to surpass theirs? How dare he think himself better than them? Some legends say the battle between the three shaped creation into what it is now, ... Yet one thing remained in each: the sisters killed their brother out of jealousy and contempt.
Creation cried out in grief…and so did the sisters, Consumed by grief, consumed by regret, they blamed one another, accusing the other of being the one to lay the last blow towards their brother. However they were unaware that in the chaos…It gave birth to something horrible. Something that defeated the Sisters and sealed them away… taking their power for its own.
It was this thing that caused the war of heaven…It was this thing that gave birth to the Gods of chaos…and it was this thing that proclaimed itself the true creator, secretly pulling the strings from behind everything…and so darkness has since ruled our realm."
Throughout the material and immaterial, chaos and a barely held together peace walked on a thin tightrope that was the conceivable universe…everything was normal…yet something happened, Something that would shake the very foundation of creation itself, and bring that thing fear..for once in its existence.
The brother had seen the grief and the regret from his siblings. He had seen that thing defeat them and lock them away. He had seen it rule behind the scenes. and yet could do nothing, He had seen the rise of the Necrons, The orks and all of the races his siblings created thrive and fight against one another, He had seen the rise of his creations…the emperor of mankind, and everything that came after. It pained him... He was but a husk of his former self. His power was still there, yet locked away. a "death" of sorts, to be certain.
Yet an opportunity arose; he saw it. a soul appearing in the immaterium, a soul from another universe... one untouched yet so pure. Despite its sins, despite its issues... A chance—one that the brother took—would inhabit the soul, give advice when the time is right, and guide it. So the brother poured his full power into the soul, shaping a body for it after a creation that the soul treasured. Slowly sealing himself into the soul, fusing with it...becoming one.
And as the brother completed his task, he sent out a message—one to inform, A pulse that went through all of creation. To That thing that sealed away his siblings, those so-called Chaos gods—The ideation has returned…and He will set everything straight.. Once and for all.
"Hey, would it be alright if everyone just...sat down? Just sit down. It's a little less formal, and so I can see—you know, see you better." Louis had forgone his chair in favor of the metal floor; his cup of coffee sat beside him. Elvira had answered his questions pertaining to the hierarchy, rituals, and reasoning as to why most of the Tech priests are augmented... rather badly from his view. Honestly, he could do a better job in his sleep.
Where in the hell did that come from?.
Louis reigned his thoughts in for a moment and then let out a sign. He guessed the first thing to do was reform and at least give the techpriests a little bit more insight. But how was the question?. The multitude of techpriests and magos sat in front of him, with Envira and the inspector general at the forefront. All of them were silent, waiting for a word from their God. Vigdis floated lazily beside him, her holographic optics gazing over them with a bored expression.
Louis picked up his cup of coffee once more, taking an extra long swig from it. Honestly, he hoped they had creamer and sugar here. Drinking pure black coffee was going to be annoying real quick. It was then that it dawned on him. Earlier, Elvira handed him a book with his religion. The first thing that stood out was the creed, then the rituals to appease machine spirits... This was a convoluted mess.
Setting his now empty coffee cup to the side, He picked up said tome and looked over it, It was surprisingly light in weight.. He thought it would have been heavier. Opening it he skimmed through a few pages, and slowly anger was building up inside of him the more he read. Complete augmentation of the body to get closer to the Omnissiah. Servetors…
He closed the tome with a loud crack, causing most of the techpriests to jump in slight fear. Elvira and The General, especially. Yet they then noticed him gazing upon them with…sadness.
"I think it's time for things to change. It seems you all have lost what made you. Human…" He could see most of them reeling back in slight shock. Yet louis continued. "Ingenuity, creativity, striving to be better, emotion, love, sadness, hate, strife—all of this is something that I see you all lack. And it was something that I failed to give you all." Was Louis hamming it on thick? Yes, he was, considering he did not want to be killed in a horrific way.
"But my lord, you are not at fault... We simply wished to be closer to you. for your light to shine upon us, to be free from this biomatter, from the weakness of the mind, from the weakness of the flesh." It was the general that spoke this, his mechanical voice carrying a slight timbre of zealment.
"And here I am...now closer to you...human in appearance. And yet I failed."
"My lord, pardon my impudence, but... You never failed us; we kept the faith; we believed you would be among us once more, and now you are! ...You will guide us to new heights." The inspector general spoke standing to his feet. Slowly The techpriest approached the man and then laid a cybernetic hand on his shoulder. "You are here now to guide us in any way you see fit... Even now multitudes of Magos and mechanicum are making their way to Mars..to gaze upon your glory."
After a moment, Louis gently removed the hand of the general and looked on once more at the group. 'Any ideas, Vigdis,' he thought towards his companion.
"Honestly, you're doing good so far; just keep hamming it up, I guess." The cube responded. Her eye had changed to a mouth eating popcorn, much to Louis's annoyance.
Louis then closed his eyes, thinking for a moment. Opening them once more, he gestured over to Elvira. beckoning her close, to which she did without question. Gently, he grabbed her cybernetic arm, moving the cloth from it. He then reached the point where it connected to the shoulder, seeing how roughly it was forced in—no time for healing. No time for it to be fitted properly.
"Starting now..there are going to be some changes. Firstly, your cybernetics are awful. Plain and simple." He spoke gesturing to Elvira's arm
For the next few hours, Louis went over proper prosthetic installation and creation with the Magos and the other Tech priests. He even used Elvira as a demonstration, carefully creating a prosthetic arm and attaching it to the woman. Proper surgical gloves and other medical equipment were used to do so as well. To which some of them recorded fervently.
"Now, the nerve endings should be numbed in order to connect them to the main augment system; this is to allow complete control of the limb and a full range of motion, including sensory as well. Of course it will take a week for the numbing agent to wear off. But afterwards there should be no complications." Louis spoke out, taking off his gloves. He did not notice Elvira coddling the arm like Gollem does the one ring.
"The Omnissiah gave me a new arm. My precious arm."
Having Vigdis with him was a godsend, because anything she created was safe to use. He really needed to remember not to make anything with his own two hands. actually scratch that he had a few ideas. Eventually he had even had Vigdis create multiple blueprints for them to use. It was honestly somewhat creepy watching them fawn over them and worship them. But he felt it was something he would have to get used to in time.
"Thank you, my lord, you have blessed us once more!"
"The Omnissiah has given us a boon! It must be preserved!" One of the techpriests spoke, holding up the blueprint as if it were an ancient artifact, only for another to tackle him, making a grab for it. Eventually a scuffle ensued between the two.
"Oho… You are approaching me, Muros."
"I can't get the omnissiah's boon without coming closer," Louis watched as they struck some sort of strange pose. He would need an advil after this..and a good nap.
"...just gotta get used to it in time," Louis mumbled to himself. He then made himself another cup of coffee.
And he now realized he would probably have to get a pair of boots. He had been walking around barefoot for most of the day. Honestly, he was glad he was wearing clothing right now. It would have been weird if he did this all in the nude... but then again, the techpriests probably would have been even more fanatical
"Oh Louie, The General wishes to show you all the advancements that they have made since "your" absence," Vigdis spoke up floating over. She then circled around to face him, gazing over him with a worried eye. "But I feel like right now you need some rest."
Louis looked on at the commotion from the currently brawling tech priests, Elvira in a corner hugging her arm close to herself, and simply pinched the bride of his nose. "Yeah...yeah, I do need some rest."
