Dear Diary,
We still haven't found Marlon, and somehow Gill is gone as well. The fact that the two of them went missing at the same time has put the whole town on edge. He and Gill were responsible for controlling the monster population, and preventing them from overrunning the town. As weird as it is to say, those old guys were our firepower.
Now that they are missing, nobody knows what to do. If the phone lines were up, we would have called for help a while ago... but the cable still hasn't been repaired.
It's been nearly a month since a storm damaged the cables!! I have no idea how the cable company let us go without communication for such a long time. I know this is kind of crazy to think about, but is it a really coincidence that the cable went out only a few days before John showed up in town?
Could he somehow be responsible for this? he pretty much is evil, right? I didn't tell my friends that John had wings. they definitely wouldn't believe me... But if John really wanted to, couldn't he just fly up and destroy the wires along the road? Maybe the reason they're taking so long to fix, is because they keep getting destroyed!
Honestly, that's kind of a conspiracy theory anyway. I'm sure the cable company is just dragging their feet, although they haven't historically been like this. I think everybody has the same thoughts though. The mayor had assured all of us that he would call for help as soon as he could. Still really worried though. At least John has been at the bottom of the lake for the past 3 days. There's a sense of normalcy that's returning to the town... but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he comes back up.
Do you think if we drop Stones down the hole, he'll be badly injured and get trapped down there? Terminal velocity plus 20 lb stone is pretty much a cannonball, right? Isn't this a great opportunity? okay, okay I know its murder and is not even proven that John got to Gill and Marlon...
But honestly. Who else could have done it?
Just between me and you, he clearly isn't human. I think I'll talk to Alex and see what he thinks.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 19Dear Diary,
I ended up not mentioning throwing rocks down the Lake shaft. I mean, I don't think it's a really terrible idea per se, but I definitely don't want to be the one to do it. What if John didn't actually kill Marlon and Gil? The last thing I need is to murder an innocent person. Then the town's people will think I'm also a psychopath.
I just really hope I don't come to regret not bring up the idea. I guess it's kind of a cowardly thing not to say it? But it's also murder so... ugh. If it is actually a good idea, then I'm sure someone else would also have thought of it. I think it's best to be cautious with this sort of thing.
In any case, Abby and Leah, (the redhead who lives Southwest of the town on Marnie's Ranch), were telling us about how there's apparently some wizard who lives in the woods. They wanted to recruit us to go visit him and ask him for help.
I thought it was a great idea. Although, I'm not really a believer in the supernatural, I've seen my fair share of supernatural in John... so I guess it's a real thing.
Alex didn't come, he said he doesn't believe in this nonsense. He said he and Sebastian were going to figure something out. I'm not sure what they're planning, but considering they we're taking the path up towards the lake, to where are the adventurers guild is, I guess it's safe to assume they're just going to spend the day looking for Marlon and Gill.
I really hope they find them, but honestly my hopes aren't High.
Abby said she already had prepared gifts for the wizard. The plan is to go tomorrow morning.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 20
Dear Diary,
So we met the wizard today. He was this really weird guy that kept talking about Forest spirits. Had this otherworldly vibe about him. Either he's legit, or he's just some crazy old man.
Anyways, he said that he had never heard of somebody like John - which was honestly pretty discouraging. He did say he was going to check it out and it disappeared right before our eyes.
Actually, I thought I was hallucinating or something - but Abby and Penny saw the exact same thing. Anyways,The Wizard reappeared after a few minutes with this sober look on his face. He claimed to have teleported into the shaft John was digging to talk to him. Apparently John just called him "Tim" and tried to attack him.
luckily the wizard man came back safely. It's obvious he has some real power, and it looks like he's going to help us.
I'm really thankful.
Hopefully we get this entire mess sorted out soon, and we can go back to the peaceful boring life.

YEAR 1 SPRING DAY 21
Dear Diary,
I haven't seen Alex and Sebastian at all today. Normally we don't see each other every single day, we have things to do... but ever since John arrived and things started going wrong in town - all of the young people are stuck together like glue.
Honestly really strange. They were heading up to look for Marlon and Gil right? Surely they couldn't have gotten into any trouble... John is still digging away at the bottom of his hole. common logic says it's impossible for him to climb out and injure anybody, but I know that bastard can fly.
Is it possible that he jumped out of the shaft and attacked Alex and Seb-
Actually I'm not going to jinx it. I'm sure they'll be back soon.
I think all of us are on edge. Even Elliott, the novelist who lives in the shack on the beach, has come to join us. I can't help but think he is just here to observe the drama as inspiration for his book... nah, maybe i just don't like his hair haha.
Everything is so tense around here. I can't be starting to be suspicious of people for no reason...
Anyway, the wizard guy said he was going to work on trying to reason with John before taking any drastic action... which I guess I understandable, but I wish he would just put a giant rock over The mineshaft and use some magic spell to seal the guy down there.
I know it sounds really harsh oh, but I honestly think he's a psycho murderer.
I hope Sebastian and Alex are just exploring the mines or something...

SPRING YEAR 1 DAY 22Dear Diary,
I can't even write straight. I'm honestly in shock. like, I haven't talked to anyone or eaten anything all day... except for you, I guess. does this count as writing to yourself?
fuck. so.
Alex and Sebastian still weren't back this morning. Their parents (grandparents) have been asking around for them, so the group of us go investigating. It's me and Elliot, then all the girls. Maru had built some fancy machine that is supposed to track people? Kind of creepy not gonna lie, but I guess it worked.
Because her machine led us all the way north to the drained lake. We peeked into the lake bed and saw there was a whole bunch of rocks piled up near the entrance of the hole. It looked like someone had gathered the stones and placed them there... but considering the imprints on the ground, it looks like they were originally many more rocks. Only about a third remained.
The moment I saw that, I knew what Alex and Sebastian had tried to do... it was the exact same idea I thought of. They had tried to kill John Terraria...
But we could still hear the hammering from the bottom of the shaft.
I turned around and went home immediately. I don't know exactly what Maru and the girls found, but considering all the wailing I can hear from across the square, they might have found the bodies.
I'm going to the wizard tomorrow. Whatever magic seal he's going to try, he had better do it now.
Mom has been trying the phones obsessively, trying to get a hold of Dad. She also keeps talking about buying us bus tickets to move out for a while. as much as we love the valley, family comes first.
Once the cable company fixes everything, we are out of here.
I just hope they hurry the hell up.
