SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 8

Dear Diary,

We've been locked in here all night. The Wizard dude was supposed to let us out when it was safe, but he hasn't come around yet. I'm starting to wonder if he's forgotten about us... I mean, he is kinda crazy after all. I'm tempted to climb out and go check out what happened. It's probably safe by now. I haven't really seen any of the junimos around. I hate to think they're partying without us.

I mean... we definitely won, right?

There's no way John can win against that army, even if he is some kind of monster. Abby decided to come scouting with me. When I get back, I'll write what I saw.

...

I'm only writing here cause I promised to.

That bastard is alive. How the hell is the bastard alive?!

I don't know. I don't know what kind of monster he is... because he looks like he took every bit of punishment The Wizard's army dished out, and punched back twice as hard. Me and Abby saw him in the ravaged town square - which was flooded as high as my knees (The Junimos must have tried a water attack or something). His armour literally looked like it'd been deep fried. His cloak was filled with sticks and sharp brambles, and there was a thin sheen of venom coating everything else. One of his wings was plucked clean of feathers (strangely, there was no flesh beneath the feathers - only a bone-like framework) and the other flopped about as if broken. Yet despite how terrible he looked, John had no issue getting around. He still moved with the same rapid aggressiveness he had while perfectly healthy.

And to make matters worse, he was using The Wizard's bloodied hat as a net to collect the little multicolour essences floating in the air. It took a moment for me to realize what those floating star-shaped lights were, but once I realized the colors if the lights matched the colors of the Junimos - I knew what must have happened.

The Junimos weren't invisible to him. He must have always been able to see them... and he'd somehow managed to kill them. I didn't see any of their little tofu bodies anywhere, but I knew the star shaped lights must have been their remains.

I didn't see Marlon anywhere, but I'm 100% certain he'd dead too. I see evidence of battle all around the town. Broken trees, uprooted stumps... the whole place is a wreck - and the only one walking around is John Terraria.

He saw Abby and I peering at him through the trees, but he ignored us. He was busy looting his kills. I guess he thought we didn't pose any threat to him. He probably thought he could take us out at any time...

And he's right.

Abby was absolutely shocked seeing The Wizard's bloody hat. She must have been close to him. I had to drag us away; the two of us went to Pierre's shop and hauled out a whole bunch of merchandise to bring back to the Wizard's tower. Its only a matter of time now that John comes after us. We might as bring food with the bad news.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 9

Dear Diary,

The News went over just as well as you might expect. There was utter panic everywhere. Granny Evelyn fainted. We were really worried she had a heartattack or something, but she was eventually okay. At least physically.

So, Mayor Lewis is in charge. He's still deathly afraid of John - but I don't blame him, and I don't think anyone else does either. In fact, its pretty obvious that we can't get rid of John through violence. I guess its correct to treat him like some wild animal.

That's what Mayor Lewis just got done saying when there's a loud knock on the front door. The people thought it must be Marlon, but I knew better. If Marion tried crossed John Terraria, then John Terraria killed him. There was only one person alive outside, but before I could yell not to open the door, Clint undid the latch.

Then he almost fainted.

Because surprise surprise! It's John fucking Terraria standing on the doorstep - fully armoured and carrying The Wizard's bloody hat. I see glowing objects inside it. He pushed his way into the room. I spear the place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

He walked in like he didn't just destroy everyone's lives and made a beeline for The late Wizard's weird magical pedestal. He stood there for a while doing something, but eventually he gave up and left - leaving the way he came.

I... I guess the fact he didn't kill all of us is something I should be grateful for?

I dunno.

But at least I get to go home and sleep in my own bed.

I wonder... is this just going to be our new normal?

I think I'll go nuts.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 10

Dear Diary,

We... we messed up.

Remember Morris and the red-haired girl employee at the Jojamart?

So, uh, we left them tied up and locked in the refrigerated closet in the Jojamart - and I guess nobody remembered to get them out. I found them blue faced - suffocated in there while i was looking for groceries.

I honestly feel really bad. I never intended for them to die. I'm pretty sure nobody did. It was a real accident.

And I also feel really bad saying this, but we weren't always just able to go to the store and buy anything we wanted. Now that Morris and the lady are gone, I just took the best things off the shelves.

it is emergency time anyway. and if I don't take it, it's only a matter of time before someone else does - or it rots. So although I feel a little bit of guilt, it's not enough to stop me.

Mom didn't ask where i got groceries. She's making beef stew with filet mignon. I can Tell she's really anticipating how this is going to taste. Seeing her smile like that is worth that little sting of guilt.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 12

Dear Diary,

The Doctor guy has vanished. He's not locked in the sewers... I guess John has found a different place to store his people.

It's been two days since everybody's come home. and JoJo Mart has been picked clean. You can't even find a piece of gum in there anymore. I bet that homeless guy really went at it... but all of us know that Pam went in and took everything. She's always been a greedy and useless drunkard. I'm certain she took way more than what she and Penny can eat.

Whatever though. I'm glad i got the groceries i got... Now that Morris is gone, Pierre has no competition. He's doubled his prices. I see him sitting behind the counter wearing that sly little smirk, and can't help but just despise him.

i know he's Abby's dad... but hell. who thinks of making a profit while a literal monster is kidnapping our people?

Maybe that's a little bit hypocritical of me... after all, no one really knows what else to do but just carry on.

so yeah. doctor had disappeared. John didn't give Marlon anything to eat when he imprisoned him. I doubt John will treat the doctor any differently...

But this time, we have no food to spare, so nobody looks for him. Its been a while since Robin's family drove off... shouldn't they have sent help by now? At this point, they're our only hope...
