Popular demand says John Terraria isn't playing hardcore afterall
SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 20
Dear Diary,
Its been peaceful for a few days now. Everyone is suffering from whiplash. John Terraria really put us all through the grinder, and we lost a lot of good people... but in the end, we won.
...
We won in a really stupid, anticlimactic way... but we did win, and if anyone like John ever comes back, me and Abby will be able to fight them off. Its no wonder John was so freaking strong! These accessories are ridiculous! Abby has got the armour and the sword and she's an absolute beast with them. I might have been jealous - but she's always been a fighter. The two of us working together can battle off any threat! I'm sure of it.
But we had only a little time to celebrate our victory.
Because this strange guy showed up.
I don't think he's gonna be another John. He... well, its almost as if he's not even a real person! So listen, I was patrolling the beach recently - because with everyone still up in arms, I'm just patrolling, and happened to see a flicker of light inside Willy's house! Of course, nobody has seen willy in forever, so I run over to greet him.
I knock, but nobody greets me or opens the door (I find this pretty strange). I sort of push my way into the house anyways, and the guy sitting there isn't Willy!
Let me tell you, he looked really weird. Like, he was just a dude, don't get me wrong. He didn't have alien tentacles coming out of him or anything, he was just... weird. He had these flat emotionless eyes that looked like they were painted on. He was sitting at Willy's shop counter just staring straight ahead. There was a live torch placed on the tabletop beside him, just burning away. Weirdly, it didn't seem to get consumed.
But anyways, I just stand there, and he stares at me with that flat, painted on expressions. For a second, I think he's some sort of mannequin - but I asked him who he was, and he responded. I said, "who the hell are you? What did you do to willy?" - and he just stared at me and answered, "I am The Guide. I know no 'Willy'."
He speaks in this really weird official accent. Its like he's a computer or something. Not entirely human, just like John. I don't believe his name is, 'The Guide', like, who's first name is The?! He persists though. Insisting that's his name. I eventually give up trying to make him say his real name. Its not like it matters much anyways.
I talk to him more, pressing him for answers - which he gives almost automatically. Most of them don't make sense. He does not know where he came from and doesn't seem bothered by that at all! He had moved in four days ago! and had not left the house since. Does... does this man eat? Maybe he's consuming raw fish? I wonder if he's another John Terraria - but he's completely unarmed and has been sitting here doing nothing for four days. I figured I'd tell Abby. If he ever gets threatening, she will take care of him.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 20
Okay so, these weird people keep popping up.
This old bearded dude started living in Pam and penny's old trailer. He said his name is "The Merchant", and he sells random stuff. I stopped by his 'shop' and he was literally selling blocks of dirt and torches. I have no idea who would want to buy a torch in the age of electricity, but he is also selling these things for pennies! I mean, I haven't seen prices this cheap EVER. I still have custody of John Terraria's winged bow, so I bought One Gold worth of arrows. There were so many, I could hardly carry them.
Sadly, I am unable to use the bow at all anyways... I can't pull the drawstring back. I wonder how strong John Terraria must be to operate this thing. Even Abby - with that crazy strength enhancing armour - could not use the bow. pity, but at least i can fly!
(I don't do it in front of anyone else, i don't want them to freak out)
The Merchant has the same strange, dead look about him as John and The Guide did. He just sits at the entry of Pam's house - with nothing but a torch mounted at the wall, all day - and all night. The Shop never closes. The Merchant is closer to the rest of us, so we see him more often. I had suspected that The Guide doesn't eat anything. I think The Merchant is the same. Literally he has not left the trailer all night. I stopped by to give him a Joja Cola earlier today, and it's still sitting on his table, unopened.
I'm really concerned about whats happening in town. There is defiantly something strange going on.
Also, the cables have yet to be repaired. its only a matter of time now that John's gone. But until we establish contact with the outside world, I'm not comfortable here. John is no longer running around, trapping and terrorizing people, but once these random half-people started showing up, it feels like John all over again.
I've been talking to Abby and some of the other young people, and we are wondering if we should kill these new people. Its putting everyone on edge.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 22
Dear Diary,
I'm seriously considering just going around and killing all of these half-people.
Every house that got abandoned (because John killed or drove away their occupants) are now being occupied by them! First Willy, then Pam (she didn't die. she and Penny just moved to Sebastian's old house). Now Marlon and The Doctor!
These people all look the same! They are all these fake, mannequin people. At lest they don't appear dangerous, but I'm starting to get worried that they will soon outnumber us. It bothers me that they just move in so naturally. Its like their aliens or something, claiming houses and just standing around and staring at walls. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually aliens... I talked to Abby about it, but she's reluctant to uh... cut someone open to find out.
I went to visit The Guide today and asked if he was an alien. He responded by rattling off instructions to create a 'martian probe'. I don't even know half of what he was saying, but he definitely sound really alien. Only now do I realize i haven't ever seen John Terraria's face. maybe he looks the same as these people!
Is he the first alien who had come to scout the town for invasion??
It might be!
PS: bad news. Abby said she lost John's Armour. but still has the super powerful sword. I'm wondering if her dad tried to sell it or something. i know her mom is also in worried about her being a tomboy, but can't they see the dire circumstances? ugh. whatever. I'm sure her parents will give the stuff back soon.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 23
Abby scoffed when i proposed my Alien invasion theory. instead, she asked me to go with her tomorrow to see the Wizard's tower. She suspects somebody might have moved in there as well, and wants to see if magic is what caused all of these strange people to show up. She's also getting the heebie jeebies with all these newcomers, and I can tell she's also considering if she should attack them or not. Its sort of a difficult decision because all they do is sit around and creep everyone out. I mean, it's uncomfortable - but you don't kill people because they make you uncomfortable, right?
Something in me can't help but think this is all tied to John. Maybe John was just the first of many calamities that will fall on Pelican Town.
I'm not sure, but I need to protect my family from anything that might happen.
Oh, by the way, i saw something a little strange... well, stranger than usual, today. remember how I said these fake people normally just sit around and stare straight ahead? I saw one today running around, just sprinting across the town square from the direction of my house. He was actually going pretty fast towards the northeast end of town. I followed him but lost him near the mines and the drained lake.
I wonder what he was up to?
I went home and found some of my accessories missing... not all of them, but the fast boots and the shield that's so heavy i can't lift it. Did that guy steal my stuff??!!

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 24
Today Mayor Lewis called a town meeting in the community center to address all of the strange happenings.
And you know what? all the fake people showed up. There are so many of them! The Guide who's living in Willy's house, The Merchant in Pam's trailer. There is this tailor dude - he calls himself The Clothier, and i swear he looks like death itself with how pale and musty he is. he's living in The doctor's house.
There is also this nurse lady. She doesn't seem to have any medical apparatuses aside from a syringe filled with suspicious green fluid. She holds it at the ready wherever she goes, and it's really creepy.
I didn't see the running fake person at the meeting, but whatever. there are already too many of them. They all stand wordlessly in a row against the back wall of the community center as we had the meeting. although they all have different appearances, their eyes are all the same. Flat, dead expressions and painted on eyes.
Elliot was really creeped out and grabbed The Guide and started shaking him. he started screaming something about aliens and lizard people, demanding to know who he was and why they were here. The Guide didn't respond, but after the fourth shake, The Guide burst into flames.
When i say burst, i really mean Burst.
It was really horrifying. blood and guts and fire. he disappeared into a blackened stain on the floor, and none of the fellow fake people even blinked.
The meeting was abruptly cut short and everyone fled
