SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 25

Dear Diary,

I don't know what happened during the town meeting yesterday, but that night, I was thoroughly convinced these fake people were actually not human.

I'm no sadist, and I know they didn't pose any threat to anyone yet, but... honestly the fact that The Guide exploded out of nowhere, then all of his fake companions just stared at him without a single inkling of emotion on their faces just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe they are innocent creatures, maybe not, but I can't get their emotionless faces out of my head. It almost feels like we are the subject of an alien invasion, and all of our people are being replaced by these extraterrestrials.

And so last night I was struck with a really dark thought... what would happen if I just... killed all of them?

I don't hate them really, but they're also definitely a risk! How did they come here anyways? Pelican town is in the middle of the remote Stardew Valley, and there hasn't been a single car or train through here since The Joja guys left. (I'm now cursing myself for not hitching a ride with them. I thought the danger was over after John died, but maybe not.)

Anyways... These people aren't violent. Not like John was.

And they're not really doing anything "wrong" persay... but ugh, whatever.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 26

So I talked to Abby today about killing the fake people. She is conflicted over the idea too, and said she would think about it. I guess she's also creeped out by the weird people. She did bring up a valid point though. What if the fake people are only peaceful because we haven't been aggressive towards them? Maybe each of these people is a John Terraria, but "not activated"? The thought scares me. We could barely handle the one. There's no way we can handle Two (now that The Guide is dead.)

She also told me her sword and armor are still gone. I'm surprised at that, but I also know her dad hates when she does 'boyish things'. I suggested her dad grabbed her stuff, and she told me she was super careful about hiding it. She's getting really antsy about it (and I have to admit, I am too - but freaking out with her isn't good.) She asked me if I think John Terraria might be back from the dead.

Of course I said it was impossible.

I've had a long time to think about it, but seriously... I saw that guy turn into *hamburger*.

There's no way he's alive.

Right?!

PS: So I went home and checked my lockbox - where I stored all my accessories... The rest are gone. I'm starting to get worried. There was some guy running 'away' from my house a few days ago... I didn't get a look at his face, but did that guy steal the rest of my stuff?! Who even was he? Sure as hell wasn't The Nurse or The Merchant. Is it...

Shit. Is it John?!

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 27

There was a real racket last night.

Just horrible noises, screeching, banging I swear there was the sound of a freaking chainsaw - and not just a normal one, it was deafening, like a jet engine.

I didn't go out. Pretty sure nobody did... but the noise was like if metal was screaming (not 'metal' as in the music genre, but I suppose the metal fans might get a kick of the crazy noises we heard last night). Anyways, Vince was so scared he was just sobbing all night and Mom was really freaking out too. I wish dad was back, but then again, I don't know what he would do about this.

So... the noises go on and on until the wee hours of the morning before they just stop.

Still, I don't sleep or dare come out of the house until the sun is well in the sky. I try to open the door and there's just a huge hunk of metal blocking the way. I get mom to help me push open the door and let me tell you - there was so much junk everywhere. Not garbage, but metal scraps. Nails, weird gizmos that blink with an evil red light, gears that twitch and shudder on their own, sheets of metal that kind of wriggle and move like it's alive... just really weird, horrible stuff.

What in the world happened last night? Did this just rain from the sky?

So of course, I look up and you know what I saw?

Remember way back when, when I told you John Terraria had these weird floating platforms above his barren field?

Well, they are above the town now, just a really long shelf that slits the sky. It's so narrow you wonder if it's just an eyelash on your eye or something.

But nope. It's there.

And It's probably John's.

What the actual hell.

SUMMER YEAR 1 DAY 28

So I got together with all the young people in town: Abby, Penny, The Bartender lady, The Bimbo, and Elliot (RIP Alex, Sebastian and Doctor dude). I feel like the old people aren't going to be very good at dealing with anything. It appears their answer to any problem is to have a meeting about it and hope somebody takes the initiative to do something. I'm not gonna be like that. We need to do something.

Now, if my theory about John getting revived is correct, then we're all royally boned and need to get the hell out of town. We will hijack the next train that comes by here or something. I dunno... but before we pack everyone up, we need to see for sure if John did... whatever he did last night. (Everything points to signs of battle, but what the heck did he fight!? The Bimbo Girl said there was a huge skull - like the size of a house - sitting on the beach. We went to check it out. I've never seen anything like it in my life. Did John kill this thing? What the heck?!)

Well I mean, maybe the military shot a missile at an alien or something and we caught the fallout? unlikely, but much preferable to having our resident monster-man back in the realm of the living.

Anyways, I got Abby and Bartender Girl to come with me. Elliot, Penny and Bimbo are pretty much useless and I swear the moment we split paths, they started talking about hair products. Whatever. I told them to keep an eye on things while we snuck onto The Farm. We figured that if John had just fought that massive monster, he might be injured. If he's alive, we're not gonna kill him - since he revived once already - but maybe he won't attack us if he catches us.

So the three of us tiptoe our way past the bus stop and into the farm. There is debris littered everywhere and a ton of trees had been snapped at the base, and we just have to climb over it all. Finally, we get to The Farmhouse. We sneak inside.

We found some weird stuff. There are tons of metal chests lined up in rows on the walls. There's also a lit furnace, a workbench and this strange sciency/alchemy table. I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but I Am sure John's not here. Abby - brave as ever - immedietly opens one of the chests and pulls out an entire sofa. Like what? The Sofa is way too big to fit in that chest, but she pulled it out and put it down, and sat on it.

Anyways, so John's not here - but he's definitely nearby. We decided to go through and try to take some useful things that will help with train hijacking. I got a giant wrench, chains, several pickaxes (dunno which will be strong enough to break the train tracks... do we even break train tracks?) and whatever else I thought might work. The Bartender grabbed a whole bunch of gold and jewels to bribe the conductor (or so she says), and I'm pretty sure Abby got this absolutely massive hammer she can barely carry and a gun. I also weapon-ed up. We grabbed six pairs of wings and skedaddled.

Anyways, John is going to be looking for us really soon. No time to dilly dally. We need to hide our tracks and look innocent until the next train runs through here.

FALL YEAR 1 DAY 2

Dear Diary,

So... the season's changed, but nobody even cares at this point. All we're doing is watching our backs. It's been three days and nobody's dropped dead yet so I guess its safe to say John hasn't suspected us. I made everyone hide the stolen items away from our houses. We agreed to keep everything in the secret woods so that even if John did find them, he would have no reason to attack any of us. Well in any case, we did see him kind of running around on those platforms high in the sky (It's probably him), so he's definitely here - but seems to be ignoring all of us. I'm fine with that... but what worries me is that gigantic metal monster we're still sweeping out of our streets.

Maybe some alien? Are they gonna be more?

Honestly as soon as another train comes, I'm getting everyone out. Looks like John Terraria is making Pelican town his monster-fighting playground, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

Anyways, I was still worried about all the fake people, so me and Abby went to go visit The Merchant - who is living in Pam's Trailer (Penny and Pam moved into Sebastian's vacated home). We decided to try to ask him if he knew John. Of course, he wouldn't say anything until we bought some dirt from him (literally dirt) and we were rewarded with this repeat of canned lines: Some gibberish about "The Hero" and "The Monster Slayer". Well John isn't a hero, but he might be a monster slayer considering that mess of a giant mechanical skull? Not sure.

Anyways, there was a really odd feeling in the town all afternoon... like there was some imperceptable vibrations coming from the earth below. It's got me on edge, and even Abby said the same. Against our mantra, we snuck to the Secret woods and got some weapons we stole from John. When we got there, Bartender Lady and Elliot were doing the same. Looks like we're all gonna bunker down tonight. Something's gonna happen, just not sure what.

PS: The Guide is back. I swear I saw him explode and burn to ash, but he's back with those same canned lines and that same dead expression. He's living in Willy's house again. in the afternoon I went down and boarded the windows and the doors so he couldn't get out. Dunno if it'll help, but it helps me sleep better at night.

You know, Sebastian's family was supposed to send help... I wonder if they're okay? I mean It's been forever. Well in any case. It's only a matter of time before a train comes...
