Chapter 82: Roc and Roll:

Brightmore's POV:

Having Lacum steay with us is the absolute worst! The man's hygiene is atrocious. He has the table manners of ah baboohhn. Let's not forget the fact that he has magical powers that cause problems. In his kip, he nearly sent us to the sun. It was lucky he woke up and got us out of that. Still, if one more thing goes wrong because of him...

"Brightmoe, hope you don't mind," says Lacum, "I'm borrowing your dressing gown. Also, I should warn you, I don't really wear undergarments."

Well I say - One is going to kill him.

"We got another one," says Director Flagg, "there's something in Tokyo."

"Alright, my hometown," says Mikoh.

. . .

We were in Tokyoh, loohking for the creature soh lacum can doh the one useful thing he can doh, send it beck... ohn the uhthah hand, noh we knoh anyone can use those dice. problem is, he doesn't trust us with them. Then again, they aaare unpredictable. If one isn't caaareful, they could bloh up the Universe... or something. We could fie kill the creatures, but then they'll come beck, strongah than evah... unless he was lying about that toohh.

"Split up," says Jack.

. . .

I'm terribly sorry but Erikah, Lacum, and One were in an aaareah.

"So, are there any kappas in your world," asks Erikah.

"Kappa-what," asks Lacum.

"Never mind."

Old beans staaarted running and screaming.

"Nande min'na hashitte iru no? (Translated: Why are you all running?)" I said.

"Watashitachi o osotte iru kyodaina tori ga imasu, (Translated: There is a giant bird attacking us)" says the chap.

We butchah and see the bird.

"A Roc," says Lacum.

"You want to throw a rock at it," asks Erikah.

"No, that's a Roc! We have to run!"

One then grabs Lacum's dice.

"Brightmore, what are you doing," asks Erikah.

One then rolls the dice and had ah nine.

"I haven't done nine yet," says Lacum.

The bird then developed fire breahth.

"Run," says Erikah.

. . .

We regrouped with the uhthers.

"And thanks to Sticky Fingers here," says Lacum, "we now have a fire breathing roc!"

"So, a rock that breathes fire," asks Mikoh.

"Hold it," says Lacum, "I'm going to assume you're thinking of the stone. A R-O-C is a giant bird. They have a really bad attiTtude. And now, this one breathes fie."

"Brightmore, what were you thinking," asks Jack.

"One was trying to dispose of the creature," I said.

"And probably thinking if you all can use the dice, that means you won't be needing me, right?"

"Can we hairlairh trust this chap," One asked, "he's bin bally all but ah freeloadah!"

"Oh, and you're a nice man," says Lacum, "you have an attiTtude that rivals the Roc's."

"See here..."

"Enough," says Jack, "we need to stop that bird."

"Or Tokyo will get roasted," says Miko.

"I got it," says Steel, "we send Ra-Vu and Liger against the Roc. They made a good team against the worm."

"It's a start," says Lacum, "and those tuo ae the only things that can fight it."

"Let's move," says Jack.

. . .

One summoned Ra-Vu and Aaarashi got out Ligah. The twoh creatures then leaped to the roc. Ra-Vu hits the Roc with his staff, but the roc deflected with its wing and swats Ra-Vu awah. Ligah then scratches the roc. Out of angah, the roc hits Ligah with ah fireball.

"Time to get to work," says Lacum. Lacum then rolls the dice but gets ah seven.

"Is seven our lucky number," asks Mikoh.

I'm terribly sorry but the roc's whole body then gets covered in fire.

"I just turned the roc into a phoenix!" The bird then hits Ra-Vu and Ligah with fire blasts.

. . .

"This is not going well," says Erikah.

"What does seven do," asks Steel.

"It turns the creature into a different creature. In this case, it turned a roc into a phoenix."

"Why couldn't it have been a pixie," asks Mikoh.

"It's not that simple," says Lacum, "it has to be another type of bird."

"Well, I say - well, One is soh glad you aaare useful," One said.

"Maybe I should send you to..."

"Alright," says Jack, "right now, we need to stop that bird before it destroys Miko's hometown."

"That reminds me," says Mikoh, "I have to make sure my parents are safe."

"You do that," says Jack, "the rest of us, let's go."

. . .

The phoenix was still causing trouble.

The team was working ohn ah trap, but Lacum and one had to steay out of it.

"Is there ah weay the dice can trap the beast," One asked.

"If ya roll an eight."

"One see."

"Steel, are you sure you want to do this," asks Jack.

"Birds like shiny things," says Steel as he polishes himself, "let's do this."

. . .

The phoenix was flying aaaround when it saw Steel.

"That's right. I'm shiny."

The phoenix staaarted coming closah and the team set the trap, but it didn't wok. The phoenix destroys the trap. Out of desperatiohn, One grabbed the dice and rolled it.

"What are you..." Lacum begins.

"Honestly, one is gagging!"

The dice roll an eight, creating an energy cage aaaround the phoenix.

I'm terribly sorry but Lacum then grabs the dice and rolls them. It's ah twelve. Ah portal then comes and sucks in the phoenix.

Lacum and one then shake each uhther's hand.

. . .

Mikoh returned to us aftah visiting with hah paaarents. We all toohk our leave and headed beck to the base in Americah.

. . .

One knocked ohn Lacum's doohr.

"Can I help you," he asks.

"Listen, One knoh what it's fancy to be... difficult. Seeing that we aaare noh in the same team, perhaps we can leaaarn to wok togethah."

"Sounds alright maTte with me. But remember, these ae my dice. You wouldn't want me takin' your glove, now, would you?"

"One suppose not." We then shoohk hands, and he closed his doohr and one walked awah.

In the next chapter, the team deals with a Zeuglodon.
