Chapter 86: The Order of Black:
Arashi's POV:
I was petting Liger in the garage. I still miss my planet. I had friends there. But I also have friends here.
"Yo Arashi," says Miko, "we got a job!"
Time to get to work.
. . .
"There's something going on in New Mexico," says Director Flagg.
"Is it another creature," asks Jack.
"I'm not sure. We just know that people have been acting strangely. You better go check it out."
. . .
We arrived in New Mexico, specifically in Santa Fe.
"Split up," says Jack.
. . .
Sunset, Drake, and I were looking around. So far, there is no sign of a mythical creature. But there was something strange...
"How are you this fine day," asks a man.
"How are you this fine day," asks a woman.
"How are you this fine day," asks another man.
"How are you this fine day," asks another woman.
Everyone seems too polite.
"Weird, it's like this town has a catchphrase," says Sunset.
"Something's out of the ordinary," says Drake, "try using your telepathic powers."
Sunset tries. "It's like everyone's mind is being blocked.
"Something's not right," I said.
Jack's POV:
Roadblock, Erika, and I were looking around. Everyone's just doing normal stuff. What's really weird is that that's all they're doing. It's like they're on autopilot.
"How are you this fine day," asks a woman.
"Uh... fine," says Roadblock, "thanks for asking."
"This is just too creepy," says Erika.
"Let's keep moving," I said.
Raf's POV:
Steel and I were looking around.
"No one seems too bothered by my robotic appearance," says Steel.
"It's like they don't notice you," I said.
Brightmore's POV:
Mikoh and one were loohking aaaround.
"How are you this fine day," asks a boy.
"WILL YOU PEOPLE STOP ASKING THAT," shouts Mikoh.
"There is something odd going on around here," I said.
"Hello, I'm Sarah Ellis. Why don't you two come with me in this windowless van?"
"One is not soh..." but before One could continue, something knocks us out.
Arashi's POV:
We all regrouped, but no sign of Miko or Brightmore.
"We better look for them," says Jack.
"We aaare roysh here," says Brightmore.
"How are you this fine day," asks Miko.
"That's what the people keep asking," says Steel.
"Shant any of you come with us in this windowless van," asks Brightmore.
"Get back," says Sunset, "they're under some kind of mind control!"
"Erika," says Jack, "we need a distraction!"
Erika creates a blinding light, allowing us to escape.
. . .
"So, can any of the creatures brainwash people," I asked.
"Actually, I think this one is a human thing," says Drake.
"Someone took control of the people here," says Jack, "Sunset, see if you can find the source."
"It won't be easy," says Sunset, "whatever's doing this is blocking everyone's minds, but if I can find who's mind isn't being controlled... done! There, in that warehouse!"
. . .
We go to the warehouse.
"Seems normal so far," says Steel.
"In this town, that's a problem," says Jack.
We enter. It's quiet. Too quiet.
"Well, it seems we have guests. We are The Order of Black. I'm Headmistress Kroger. This is Professor Wheeler. And this is Sarah Ellis." Professor Wheeler is a man.
"So, you're the ones behind this," says Jack.
"We're just trying to bring order to this town," says Professor Wheeler, "is that so wrong?"
"You turned them all into zombies," says Erika.
"You should've seen them before," says Sarah.
"We're going to stop this," says Jack.
"How are you three doing this," asks Drake.
"Why don't you ask our friends," says Headmistress Kroger.
Then familiar faces come.
"What are these things," asks Erika.
"Army Ants," says Miko, "they were supposed to work for us, but then that virus, Evox took control of them."
The Army Ants attacked, and we had to fight back. A lot of us used NERF blasters. Raf and Steel used their maximal powers. Erika used her energy powers. I saw the order and followed them.
. . .
I found their creepy lab and saw a big machine.
"That's creepy," I said.
"How are you this fine day," asks Miko as she and Brightmore appeared.
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh.. hey guys... good to see you both..."
They tried to attack me, but I pushed them off. I then ran to the machine, but Sarah came and started choking me. I then tried an option. I spat in her face.
"Hey, that's gross!" I then knocked her away. I grabbed a chair and started breaking the machine with it.
"You fool," says Headmistress Kroger, "now it's going to explode!"
. . .
The machine explodes and we were all lucky to get out of there.
"What happened," asks Miko.
"Arashi just saved the capitol city of New Mexico," says Jack.
"And we got one of them," says Steel, holding Sarah Ellis.
"I just hope it's the last we've seen of them," says Arashi.
Professor Wheeler's POV:
"My machine may have been destroyed, but..."
"But you are no longer a use to me," says Headmistress Kroger as she turns into a male ram.
"Wait, I work for a ram?"
He then charged at me...
In the next chapter, the team deals with a potato monster that collects body parts.
