Tears ran down Damien's face, unable to forget his brother's screams. They were loud and terrifying. As the Flames died out Damian heard his dad calling out for them. Quickly their dad and uncle grabbed Hadrian as the Flames died and took him to the infirmary with Damian following behind. Once their poppy was able to access him.
James and Dumbledore interrupted the silence an hour later. Damian watched as James argued with Madeye and Dumbledore. They were discussing how Hadrian broke the rule of using magic. With James arguing about how he did it to save students.
Finally Damian had enough, "He saved me. I went back there knowing the fire was coming, Hadrian didn't even think he went after me." He stood having the adults' attention with James giving his son a proud look, "it doesn't matter if he used magic or not it matters with what he did with his magic." Damian paused, looking down to Hadrian's prone figure, "he stopped the fire." He finished taking Hadrian's hand in his sitting back down; he didn't want to say how the fire seemed to listen to him in case they got the wrong idea.
In the end Dumbledore stood up for Hadrian standing with James and sent Mad-eye away because he, Hadrian, had saved students. Despite this, Damien remained against Poppy and James' wishes.
Two days. The sun rose and fell twice since that first day. Damian stayed with Hadrian.
Never leaving and barely sleeping. Guilt ate him, for pushing both Hadrian and Marcus away after the game. It was stupid but he can't take the words away. "You know he won't be upset." Marcus interrupted the quiet Hospital wing.
"How would you know?" Damian asked, looking at Marcus as he sat on the other bed.
"Hadrian and I are brothers in every sense of the word." He smiled softly at the memories, "it's what brothers do when they fight. Say a few things."
"You two have fought?"
Marcus laughed at the idea, "oh ya and the whole castle would know and hear it. Especially about what we are doing here and our plan.
There were many arguments, sometimes we didn't talk for quite a while. But ultimately we made up, brushed it off. We're brothers. Just like you are to Hadrian."
Damion hummed at that, looking back at Hadrian, "so he isn't upset about it."
"Cirice, no this is new to both of you, it's bound to happen." Marcus looked back to Hadrian and glared, "and this bloody idiot is being a lazy sod."
Damian looked confused towards Marcus, but then Marcus smirked and looked at Hadrian.
He then followed his gaze and found that Hadrian had opened his eyes.
"You've been awake!"
Hadrian chuckled and sat up with Marcus to help, "like I said he is a lazy sod, called me to come up here after class. Wanted me to talk to
you. Make sure you don't be as lazy as him."
Damina, seeing his brother sitting up, suddenly sprang to life, tackling his brother. "I'm so sorry. I was rude. I didn't mean anything. I'm sorry. I'm sorry-"
"Stop." Hadrian stopped him. "I don't want another apology."
Damian, looking shocked, sat up on Hadrian's bed "I'm-" He started but stopped again from the look Hadrian gave him. "Can I still call you Harry?"
Hadrian gave his younger brother a fond look, "Of course I'll always be Harry to you."
"Listen," Dansien started. "There was a lot of talk dad and I got you one more chance." He looked down while Hadrian and Marcus shared a look.
"What!" came the bustling head nurse "why was I not told he was awake?" She came up and scanned over Hadrian "He needs to rest his magical core is down." She then Acioed a couple potion vials and handed them to him. He watched her holding them and then raised them up to see. "Well, go ahead."
Hadrian sighed and drank each one in one gulp. He looked to Marcus who was still standing next to the bed. 'Take care of Damien and see what the adults are planning.'
Marcus nodded 'will do.' After that Damien and Marcus watched as Hadrian fell back to sleep.
"Now" madam Pomphry stated "you two go on. He is fine and will be by tomorrow."
Marcus then took Damien who wanted to argue but Marcus didn't listen. As they walked out, Marcus heard the head heater say "take good care of that young boy Mr. Pire." He looked back and nodded to her before heading out with Damien.
Hadrian first noticed harsh talking nearby.
He opened his eyes seeing it was sunrise or sometime after. The wing was mostly empty except for the group at the entrance being stopped by the Matron. "No need to rest, I will not wake him up."
"Well it seems you won't have to!" Dumbledore's voice rang through.
The matron turned around to see that he was indeed awake. "Fine no моге than 10 minutes then only one can see him." She then turned back to her office leaving the group with Hadrian.
"My boy, glad to see you awake." Dumbledore stated. Hadrian had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. "We came to inform you of your actions."
The leading Aouror then stood closer. "You and Marcas left the security detail, used your magic and ignored all rules set for you." The man said then the other one stepped up.
"However, we have taken into account many accounts of what you were doing at the time of the fire. With your guardian's consent, we have decided to give you one more chance." The man then handed him the wand. He had to hold back a wince as he held the restricted wand. It's not right to mess with a person's wand. If done wrong, the wand rejects its caster. Which is what would have happened if he didn't have a blood bond with the wand.
Once the wand was returned, the three left, leaving James standing. Worry filled his face.
Looking at his son in the hospital bed, James signed. He slowly walked closer to the hospital bed, his heart heavy with worry. He had to find a way to fix this. In spite of everything he cared about, he had to find a way to let his son know.
He knew something was missing for years before the spell was released.
Hadrian watched his father's face; a feeling of hope was growing inside him but he pushed it down. James slowly reached out and touched his son's hand, his heart filled with emotion. He promised his son that he would always love him and be by his side no matter what. He failed without even knowing it.
"You really scared me. When they brought you in, I thought the worst had happened. I'm so glad you're safe." Hadrian's eyes looked away; he was scared to open up again to a parent after he lost his son so many years ago. Surprised, his father pulled him into a tight embrace. He whispered in his ear, "I'm here for you always."
It took Hadrian a while to relax into the hug.
His father pulled away and smiled, tears streaming down his face. He then sat back looking at Hadrian. "Us Potters huh, always in the centre of trouble." He teased me. Hadrian chuckled softly though he had an urge to correct him on his name Pire.
He decided against saying anything and instead just smiled back at his father. He knew he didn't want to cause any more tension and they both needed to heal from the recent tragedy. Hadrian knew that they would always be connected, no matter what. He just didn't want them to open up with their plan in motion.
For a little while later the dad and son duo talked about various things. Quidditch and school. It was light hearted but Hadrian was finally able to see his father without the stress of everything that happened. Once the matron came bustling in again she sent James away Hadrian sat back and thought about everything they had planned. He hoped James would still welcome him back.
The cheers reverberated throughout the stands as the sounds of excitement filled the air.
It was a highly anticipated match between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, and the tension could be felt in the air. Both teams were eager to demonstrate their skills and determination.
As the game began, the players from both sides closed their eyes, immersing themselves in the intense atmosphere. Hadrian, who had been released from the infirmary just two days ago, was in attendance, accompanied by Marcus. Marcus, a Slytherin, had his eyes fixed on the field, intently watching every move.
As the game progressed, a pivotal moment arrived. With a crucial goal scored by the Hufflepuff team, victory seemed within reach. The crowd erupted into deafening applause, and the sounds of their elation echoed throughout the arena.
In the midst of the excitement, Marcus seized the opportunity to make a deal with Hadrian. "Hey if Hufflepuff were to win, You need to oblige my request."
Intrigued, Hadrian looked over to Marcus and then back to the game, "Alright you got a deal." They continued watching the game cheering with the crowd around them.
The outcome of the match came as a surprise to everyone, with Hufflepuff securing a resounding victory. Cheers erupted once again, and the crowd went wild with excitement.
Hadrian, who had been closely following the events, knew that his acceptance of the deal had earned Marcus a reward.
Once the celebrations died down, Hadrian led Marcus away from the bustling crowd and towards a secluded area. "Come on before the party starts, let's go to a tower." T ogether they walked to the side of the garden with Marcus following along confused.
Hadrian stopped. "What's going on?" asked Marcus.
Hadrian smiled and said, "You'll see."
Hadrian then continued to a small overgrown path. Marcus followed close behind, curious as to what Hadrian was up to.
Hadrian stopped in front of a hidden doorway. He stepped inside once he pulled back the vines and Marcus followed. "Every founder tower has two entrances, one in the castle and one outside. Care to guess which one this tower belongs to?" He asked as they climbed up the winding stairs.
"Hufflepuff?" Marucs guessed and Hadrian hummed to the answer.
"The founders built a secret staircase inside the tower so that if the castle was ever attacked, they could use it to escape. It was designed for their protection." Hadrian said, continuing up the stairs.
Finally Hadrian stopped at the top of the stairs and looked out back to Marcus only the heir and those invited could use the stairs otherwise anyone could solve their door to get in.
They spent time visiting each tower, and during their exploration, "what about that tower?" Marcus asked as he noticed an extra tower that piqued his interest. Hadrian came up to the window where Marcus was standing. "I'm not sure the founders haven't mentioned one. I have been actively trying to uncover information about that tower."
In Salazar Tower, they spent some time searching for clues to gain a better understanding of what Salazar was working on.
"We haven't found much yet," Hadrian said.
"Let's look later."
Marcus nodded, putting his book down. "I have to say they are impressive works." He said as they stood up.
Hadrian chuckled, "imagine working with them though. Salazar and Row are the most confusing in person."
Marcus laughed remembering the complaints Hadrian spoke of when they were younger.
Marcus and Hadrian sat in the common room of Hogwarts, surrounded by younger students who were busy studying for their upcoming exams. As fifth years, they were supposed to be studying as well, but instead, they found solace in their shared passion for teaching. As they sat in the common room, Marcus and Hadrian were engrossed in a heated discussion about the best way to teach Charms. They were both passionate about the subject and had spent countless hours perfecting their teaching methods. To the younger students, they seemed like experts in the field, but little did they know, Marcus and Hadrian had been teachers for several years already.
They were both highly respected in the wizarding community for their knowledge and expertise in teaching. But in the common room, they were just two fifth years, proclaiming themselves as experts in teaching. Their banter and laughter drew the attention of the younger students, who were intrigued by their seemingly endless knowledge. Even the older students couldn't help but join in on the fun, knowing that Marcus and Hadrian were more than just fifth years.
As the night went on, more and more students gathered around Marcus and Hadrian, eager to learn from their wisdom. The common room was filled with laughter and excitement, as the students soaked up every bit of knowledge that Marcus and Hadrian had to offer. In that moment, surrounded by their peers, Marcus and Hadrian felt a sense of fulfilment that they had always admired with teaching others.
Marcus sat at a long wooden table in the potions classroom, surrounded by shelves filled with jars of mysterious ingredients and cauldrons bubbling over with colourful concoctions. He had invited a young student, new to the world of magic and to Slytherin house, to join him for a lesson in potion making. The student, named Emily, nervously took a seat across from Marcus, her hands fidgeting with excitement. She had always been fascinated by potions, but had never had the opportunity to learn the craft until now.
"Welcome, Emily," Marcus said with a warm smile. "Today, we're going to go over the basics of potion making. It's important to have a solid foundation before attempting any advanced potions." He pulled out a thick leather-bound book and placed it in front of Emily. "First and foremost, it's crucial to take notes. Potion making is a precise and delicate process, and one wrong move can have disastrous results. So, always make sure to write down every step."
He flipped through the book, showing her detailed drawings and descriptions of various ingredients and their magical properties. Emily's eyes widened in awe as she took in all the information.
Next, Marcus led her to a large table with a variety of ingredients laid out before them. He explained the importance of measuring and mixing ingredients in the correct order, and showed her how to use a magical scale to ensure accuracy.
"Ah, and here's one of the most important tools in potion making," Marcus said, picking up a mortar and pestle. "This is used for grinding ingredients into a fine powder. It may seem like a small detail, but it can make all the difference in the potency of a potion."
Emily eagerly took notes as Marcus demonstrated how to use the tools and mix the ingredients together. He then showed her a few examples of simple potions, explaining the effects and uses of each one. With a newfound understanding of the basics, Emily was ready to create her first potion. Marcus and his assistant, Hadrian, guided her through the process, offering tips and advice along the way.
At first, Emily's potion didn't turn out quite right. But Marcus encouraged her to keep trying, reminding her that potion making takes patience and practice. With each attempt, she improved, and finally, she successfully created a potion that glowed a bright purple color.
"I did it!" Emily exclaimed, a huge smile on her face. "I made a potion!"
Marcus and Hadrian congratulated her and praised her for her determination and hard work. Emily couldn't wait to try more potions and continue her journey in the world of magic. As the lesson came to an end, Marcus and Hadrian bid farewell to Emily, who left the potions classroom feeling proud and accomplished. They knew she had a bright future ahead of her as a skilled potion maker.
After they had finished with potion making, Marcus and Hadrian moved on to helping the student with Transfiguration and Charms. Marcus walked the student through the basics of the two magic classes, explaining the theories and laws behind them. He showed the student some examples of how to do basic transfigurations and charms, and then explained the importance of practice and patience when it came to mastering the two magical classes.
With patience and guidance from Marcus and Hadrian, the student was able to successfully cast a few simple spells. The student was thrilled with their newfound knowledge and thanked Marcus and Hadrian for their help.
Throughout the day, Marcus and Hadrian continued to lend their support and knowledge to the younger and older students. With patience and enthusiasm, they guided them through their assignments, clarifying doubts and offering insightful explanations. They jokingly joked that they were natural-born teachers, enjoying the lighthearted banter in the Slytherin common room.
Later in the day, the room of requirement doors opened to allow Forest to enter. Damien followed closely behind, stepping into the room that transformed into a dense forest. As the golden trio arrived, the door vanished without a trace. Hadrian and Marcus emerged from the trees, waving and emitting a pulse of magic. In a surprising turn of events, their clothes changed. Damien was now adorned with a shimmering gold hue, while Michael donned a cadet blue colour. Hermione stood out in a vibrant shade of yellow, while Ron sported a verdant green. The sudden change in their appearance caught everyone off guard, but they knew it meant the start of an exhilarating race.
The instructions were clear: Each member of the golden trio had one minute to run as far as they could through the dense forest, using their wits and various items to solve challenges along the way. However, they were not allowed to rely on assistance from their fellow team members.
As the race began, each team member set off at a brisk pace, navigating through the dense foliage and using their surroundings to their advantage. Ron, known for his speed, quickly took the lead, his green robes blending seamlessly with the forest background.
However, Ron soon found himself stuck at one point, unable to move forward. Despite his initial setback, he managed to find an alternative route and managed to make it to the farthest point within the allotted time.
Damien, known for his agility and quick thinking, steadily made his way closer to the finish line. He successfully completed four tests along the way, showcasing his resourcefulness and determination. Michael, not to be outdone, matched Damien's feat by also completing four tests along the way. Both Damien and Michael's efforts resulted in them tying for the closest distance to the circle.
Hermione, while initially getting stuck, demonstrated remarkable perseverance. Despite not reaching the farthest point, she managed to complete more tests than Ron, showcasing her ability to think on her feet and find creative solutions.
As the minute drew to a close, the golden trio knew that their time was up. Before they could celebrate their achievements, they were interrupted by the sounds of Hadrian and Marcus's approach. The hunt had begun.
As the golden trio sought refuge amidst the trees, Hadrian and Marcus appeared, their magical powers enabling them to navigate the dense forest with ease. They called out to the trio, signaling the end of the session. Hadrian and Marcus emerged from the thick forest, they could hear the heavy panting and rustling of leaves behind them. Hadrian, nodded at Marcus, and they both called out to the golden trio to gather around. Even if they were being force he wanted them to at least of a small chance of survival in a war that wasn't theirs.
