It's a soap, characters have evolved since the prequel and are going to be OOC by the sheer nature of it being a SOAP.

Set in both Dallas and Odessa, Texas. Maura Isles is the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Jane Rizzoli is a detective, and Maura's best friend. Maura gets a call one day with some bad news which forces her to leave town. Bad goes to worse, and Maura begins to spiral. Will she find the strength to tell her best friend that she's in love with her? Or will Jane have to say it first?
