Chapter 6
The next morning, Moroha is in the middle of getting dress to go visit Sakura Hills. Even though she can tell that it's for a completely different reason, she couldn't refuse it. She opens her bedroom door until she sees the twins about to knock on her door.
"Hey, what are you guys doing here?" Moroha in complete surprise. She sees them in a similar dress as she is. Setsuna is wearing a formal lavender dress with her hair down. Towa on the other hand is in black dress pants and teal blouse on.
"Wow, you guys look great." Moroha compliments to the both of them. Even her outfit that she picked out was just as gorgeous. Moroha's hair is in a ponytail twist that Kagome was able to do for her. "Our father was informed about the mission that Grandpa Toga gave you. We wanted to see rather or not that school will accept us as well." Setsuna said as she and Towa enter the bedroom.
"Wait a minute. I was going to tell you guys about it. How was it that you knew about it?" Moroha is in shock to hear the news.
"Sometime last night, Sestuna and I were going to get ready for bed…" Towa starts
Flashback.
Towa and Setsuna are in their Jack and Jill bathroom brushing their teeth for bed. "So, what should we do this weekend, Sis?" Setsuna asks after spitting the toothpaste of out her mouth. "I'm not sure. There's a lot of things to do but we just can't pick one." Towa jokes in the end. Setsuna giggles at her sister's sense of humor.
"Towa, Setsuna." Rin calls from outside of the bathroom. The twins come out to see Rin with a smile on her face. "What is it, mother?" Setsuna asks her first. "Your father and I want you to meet someone." Rin keeps her smile on her face. "OK, then who is it?" Towa asks curiously. "Come with me." Rin gestures the twins to follow her into their father's office.
They enter the massive office that their father works sometimes from home instead of the company building. "Father, are you sure that they can handle this?" Sesshomaru asks him in his usual stoic expression. "I'm very confident that they can do this." Toga responds in the same tone of voice.
"Father, these here are my daughters Towa and Setsuna." Sesshomaru appropriately introduces his daughters to his father. Upon instinct, the twins bow their heads to their grandfather. Toga smiles to see such resemblances the twins have.
"Towa, Setsuna. I need to ask you two something." Toga said to them. "I've told your cousin Moroha to attend the school she told you about the other day. I know for certain that she's going to need your help taking care of the issue at hand."
"What exactly does she need our help for?" Setsuna asks him respectfully.
End of Flashback
Moroha didn't see that coming. "So, Gramps told you first instead of me." She said in disappointment. "I really wanted to do it so badly. I wouldn't known that he'd get to you first." She sighs. Towa and Setsuna looked at each other before placing their hand onto Moroha's shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about it. As long as we take care of this issue, we can prove how dependable we are to them." Towa assures her. Moroha smiles and hugs them both.
The entire family arrive at the Sakura Hills School Parking lot. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru pull into two empty spots to each other. Inuyasha is in the outfit that Moroha picked out for him. Kagome did her part as well. Sesshomaru on the other hand isn't that different from Inuyasha sense of style. Like any man would wear, business suit, jacket, black slacks, with his silver hair pulled back with is a rare sight. Rin in a nice casual red dress with a black Carnegie covering her shoulders to the wrist of her arms. Her hair is completely down.
They enter the building property, but something is clearly wrong. It's the fall season as in it's getting a bit chillier. But the entire area has cherry blossom pedals falling from the surrounding trees. "Hello." Someone greets them.
They turn to see one of the faculty members looking at them with a nice smile. A woman in her thirties with short brown hair and matching brown eyes. "Hello, we're the Takahashi family for a visit with the headmaster." Moroha walks up in front of the group. The woman nods. "Ah, of course, this way." She guides them through the building's hallway. Since it's the weekend the classrooms are vacant. "My name is Musiko." She introduced herself.
"Right in here. I'll inform the headmaster about your arrival." Musiko excuses herself to enter the one door that has the nametag 'Headmaster. Yuki Yahamito.' The girls sit in the vacant seats while the parents remain standing. It doesn't take long for the Headmaster's door to show herself. "Moroha Takahashi, Towa Takahashi, Setsuna Takahashi." The Headmaster is a woman in her fifties in a usual business attire of her own. She has her black hair in a nice bun.
The three girls stood up and enter the door. The moment the door, something happens. "I sense something unusual about that room." Kagome whispers to them. "Yeah, something's blocking us from eavesdropping on their meeting." Inuyasha agrees. Rin felt uneasy all of sudden but remains calm. Sesshomaru remains silent.
Yuki Yahamito takes her seat in the office leather chair while the three girls sit in the individual chairs across from the massive desk. "Again, I'm Yuki Yahamito. I'm the headmistress of this school. So far, I've found out about Moroha Takahashi through the system and I'm curious about you." Yuki smiles at Moroha so far.
"It's a pleasure to have us here, Mrs. Yahamito. I was informed about your school through a brochure from our Headmaster Mr. Totosai." Moroha bows.
Yuki smiles. "And I would like to know Towa and Setsuna Takahashi." She turns her attention to the twins.
"Well, we're twins. Moroha is our cousin." Towa said politely to her. "Towa. Tell me about yourself." Yuki said to the white hair-ed twin. "I'm a runner. Like Moroha we both have been top athletes for our schools." Towa explains herself.
"I see, I can tell that you're quite strong for your physique. Is there something else you like to do for a hobby?" Yuki asks her another question with interest. "I usually like to workout with my cousin to keep ourselves healthy."
Yuki can tell that Towa didn't say much to her. She turns her attention the black hair-ed twin.
"What about you Setsuna. Tell me about yourself." Yuki encouraged her.
"I'm a violinist." Setsuna answers to her. Yuki seems intrigued about her answer. "Ah so you're a violinist. How long have you been playing?" She asks curiously.
"Not long, just about a few months now." Setsuna honestly replies. "Hmm. So you just started and then you somehow were able to master the instrument in a short amount of time." Yuki laced her fingers together with her chin on the fingers. "I've heard such beings. Those who are able to accomplish in a short amount of time. Do you have any pieces that you'd like to share with me?" Yuki asks in a calm eagerness tone.
Setsuna goes into her pocket purse to take out her cell phone and shows a video of her playing the violin. Yuki is absolutely amazed by her talent. "Oh my, I've never heard such a beautiful piece. Please tell me, is it from one of the famous pieces?"
Setsuna shakes her head. "No. It's a lullaby that I was sung to." Yuki nods. "A lullaby. Interesting. Is that the only piece you know so far?" She asks.
"Frankly, yes. That's the only piece I know."
Yuki nods. "I can tell you three have a lot of potential. I believe that you have what it takes to be here. I welcome you to our school." She stands up and offers her hand. The girls clearly see that her hand has claws instead of fingernails.
"Ah I see that you noticed. I'm aware that you're half demons, Moroha you're a quarter-demon. As for me I'm a half demon as well."
"What kind of half demon are you?" Moroha asks her. Towa elbows her cousin. "You're being rude." She murmurs.
"It's ok, Towa. I'm a cat demon. I have cat ears on my head, but I have a charm on my wrist to make me look human. However it cannot change the claws on my hands." Yuki explains as she shows them as she removes the charm.
Once off, the hair turns into a slate gray color, her eyes are green, and the ears are on her head like Inuyasha's akita ears.
"But then why wear it? Isn't this place…" Moroha's mouth is covered by Setsuna. "I think you've asked enough questions." She said in annoyance.
Yuki chuckles. "I know exactly what she is about to ask. She wants to know about the school for half-demons. I happen to be a close friend to the great dog demon himself. He has told me about you. The whole task that you might be able to figure out. I assure you that no one else but us knows about the truth."
"The truth is that whoever is the mastermind behind the disguises. The case hasn't been solved for almost 50 years." Towa tells her in a matter-of-fact tone.
Yuki nods, "Impressive. I can assure you that whoever the mastermind is somewhere among us."
Setsuna seems curious. "What about you? Do you know who the mastermind is?" She questions the older woman.
Yuki looks inconvenienced about Setsuna's approach on the subject. "It's not me." She simply tells them.
"Ok. But you have our word to find the mastermind." Towa said in certainty. Yuki holds out her hand. "If you can find the mastermind, I'll make sure that you are entitled to the school's legend."
"What do you mean by that?" Moroha asks her this time.
Yuki turns to the one side of the office room's wall. "We are aware how we are rejected by the society, But, we don't let that happen here. We are here to treat each other the way we want to be treated. I take it that there have been articles about teenagers committing suicide due to their status."
The girls seem to be wary about it. "We don't let that get to us." Towa said seriously.
"Yes. The legend foretold that whoever can make sure that not a half-demon student doesn't perishes will deemed a hero." Yuki explains as she shows articles that happened each year for a half demon committing suicide.
"Tell me, do you think that the school you've been to accepts you for yourself?" Yuki asks them. The girls didn't see that coming.
"We'll do it." Moroha immediately responds as she offers her hand to Yuki. Towa and Setsuna stay behind as Moroha and Yuki shake hands.
"You don't have to shake on it. Just attend the school and I'll give your assignments." Yuki said to them as she opens the door for them.
The girls leave the room and head to their parents. "So how did it go?" Kagome asks the headmistress. "I believe your daughters have what it takes to be here. They can attend as early as next Wednesday. I'll give their school's headmaster for their transfer files." Yuki smiles at them.
Kagome and Rin shake their hands with the headmistress' hand, while their husbands stay behind. "The school store is around the corner to the left of that door you can get your uniforms there." Yuki gives the family agendas with the school map on one of the pages.
They head to the store, bought the required utensils and their uniforms. For the girls know for sure they have a mission they have to do.
