Chapter 3
Shampoo's eyes lit up with interest as she heard Inuyasha speak. She stepped closer to him, her eyes roaming over his features.
"You have interesting face," Shampoo said, reaching up and touching his cheek. "And you not human, yes?"
Inuyasha's ears pressed back at Shampoo's touch, and he swatted her hand away from his face.
"Hey, watch it," InuYasha growled. "And of course, I'm not human. I'm a hanyo, half-human, half-youkai."
Shampoo's eyes widened in fascination at Inuyasha's revelation, and she took another step forward, completely unbothered by his grumpy demeanor.
"Half-Human? Very interesting," Shampoo said, her hand reaching out to touch his ears. "And you have dog ears?"
Inuyasha flinched at Shampoo's touch, not appreciating being touched without permission.
"Yeah, I have dog ears," InuYasha said gruffly, his patience wearing thin! "I'm not a goddamn zoo exhibit! Stop touching me!"
Shampoo seemed to pay no attention to Inuyasha's words of protest, and she continued to admire his features. She reached up and gently rubbed one of his ears.
"Your ears very soft," Shampoo said, as if in awe. "And so cute."
Inuyasha's face flushed red at Shampoo's comment, and he swatted her hand away from his ear again.
"Hey, knock it off! These are not cute. They're part of me, and I don't appreciate you treating them like a toy," InuYasha exclaimed, his irritation growing.
Watching the exchange, Ranma couldn't help but snicker at Inuyasha's frustrated expression. He knew how sensitive Inuyasha was about his ears, especially when people touched them without permission.
"Looks like we've got a fan, huh, Inuyasha?" Ranma teased, a smirk on his face.
Kagome was silently watching the interaction between Inuyasha and Shampoo, her expression turning slightly sour. She couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy at the way Shampoo was touching Inuyasha's ears, knowing how sensitive he was about them.
Kagome crossed her arms and took a small step closer to Inuyasha, subtly claiming her territory.
Oblivious to Kagome's possessive gesture, Shampoo continued to admire Inuyasha's features, her hand now touching his hair.
"You have nice hair too," Shampoo said, running her fingers through his silvery locks. "And your eyes...very unusual color."
Inuyasha was practically bristling now, his patience nearly exhausted. He swatted Shampoo's hand away again, growling lowly.
"Will you stop touching me already!?" InuYasha snapped. "I'm not a damn doll! And keep your paws off my hair!"
Kagome's expression darkened even further as she watched Shampoo continue to touch Inuyasha without regard for his personal space. She couldn't take it anymore.
"Alright, that's enough," Kagome said firmly, her voice sharp. "Inuyasha already told you to stop touching him. You need to respect his boundaries."
Shampoo turned to Kagome with a slight pout, clearly unaccustomed to being told what to do.
"But I just want touch," Shampoo protested, reaching for Inuyasha's hair again. "He have cute ears and nice hair. Why I can't touch?"
Kagome bristled at Shampoo's stubbornness, her irritation flaring.
"Because he said no," Kagome insisted, stepping forward to place herself between Inuyasha and Shampoo.
"If someone tells you no, that's the end of it. You don't just continue touching them without their consent. That's not how it works." Kagome said.
Inuyasha shot Kagome a grateful look, appreciative of her intervention. He hated it when people invaded his personal space like that, especially when it came to his ears.
"Yeah, what she said," InuYasha muttered, crossing his arms to protect himself from any further unwanted touches.
Akane, who had been watching the whole exchange quietly, couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Kagome defending Inuyasha from Shampoo's advances.
"Looks like someone's got a bit of a possessive streak," Akane remarked, shooting a knowing smirk at Kagome.
Kagome shot Akane a dirty look, clearly not amused by her comment.
"It's not about being possessive," Kagome protested, though she couldn't deny that there was a hint of possessiveness in her actions.
"It's about respecting boundaries. Inuyasha told her to stop, and she just ignored him." Kagome spoke.
Akane shrugged, a mischievous smile on her face.
"Yeah, she's a bit of a floozy," Akane said, nodding her head in Shampoo's direction. "She flirts with any guy she finds cute. It's kind of her thing."
Kagome's expression darkened further as she heard Akane's words. The thought of Shampoo flirting with other guys, especially Inuyasha, was not sitting well with her.
"I see..." Kagome replied through gritted teeth. "Just great."
Inuyasha caught the look on Kagome's face and rolled his eyes. He knew exactly what was going through her mind.
"Relax, Kagome," InuYasha mumbled, trying to diffuse the tension. "I can handle myself. I don't need you getting all worked up over some girl's flirting."
Kagome huffed, her irritation obvious. She knew Inuyasha was right, that he was perfectly capable of handling himself, but that didn't stop her from feeling protective.
"I know you can handle yourself," Kagome said, her voice still a bit strained. "But that doesn't mean I have to like it when other girls fawn over you like that."
Inuyasha smirked at Kagome's words, enjoying the hint of jealousy in her tone.
"What, you're jealous?" InuYasha teased, leaning in a bit closer. "Don't worry, Kagome. You're the only one I have eyes for."
Kagome felt a pang of annoyance at Inuyasha's teasing, but she couldn't deny the warmth that spread through her at his words. She huffed again, trying to maintain her facade of irritation.
"I'm not jealous," Kagome protested, though the redness in her cheeks betrayed her. "I just don't like seeing other girls pawing all over you like that."
While Inuyasha and Kagome were having their exchange, Shippo, who had been quietly watching the scene unfold, suddenly spoke up.
"Hey, Inuyasha," Shippo said, a sly smile on his face. "Looks like you've got two girls after you now."
Inuyasha's ears perked up at Shippo's comment, and he shot the little kitsune a withering glare.
"Shut up, you little troublemaker," InuYasha grumbled. "I don't need your smart remarks right now."
Shippo just smirked, clearly amused by Inuyasha's reaction.
"Oh, but it's true, isn't it?" Shippo teased. "Kagome's getting all possessive, and now you've got the girl with purple hair all over you too."
Shampoo turned her attention back to the group, realizing she hadn't officially introduced herself to the little fox child.
"Hello, cute child. My name is Shampoo," Shampoo said, her smile sweet. "What your name?"
Shippo blushed at Shampoo's compliment, but he quickly regained his composure.*
"I'm Shippo," Shippo replied, a hint of pride in his voice. "And I'm not a child, I'm a kitsune!"
Shampoo chuckled at Shippo's declaration, clearly amused by his youthful energy.
"Kitsune, eh? You adorable little fox." Shampoo said.
Shippo puffed out his chest, preening under the attention.
"Yeah, that's right," Shippo said, grinning. "And I'm Inuyasha's loyal sidekick. We have lots of adventures together!"
Inuyasha rolled his eyes at Shippo's boastful words.
"Loyal sidekick? Don't make me laugh," InuYasha grumbled. "You're more of a pain in my ass than anything else."
Shampoo's smile widened at the playful banter between Inuyasha and Shippo. She found the dynamic between the hanyo and the kitsune endearing.
"You two make very cute pair," Shampoo said, chuckling softly.
Kagome couldn't help but laugh at Shampoo's comment. She found the whole exchange between Inuyasha, Shippo, and Shampoo amusing, despite her earlier annoyance.
"Yeah, they're like a comedic duo," Kagome chimed in, grinning.
"Comedic duo, huh?" Shampoo mused, her eyes drifting back to Inuyasha.
"Well, he definitely has funny ears. They're adorable." Shampoo said.
Inuyasha's ears twitched irritably at Shampoo's comment.
"Knock it off with the 'adorable' stuff," InuYasha grumbled. "My ears are not cute, they're part of me. And they're sensitive, so stop touching them!"
Shampoo held her hands up in a placating gesture, still a smile on her face.
"Okay, okay, no more touching ears," Shampoo said, feigning innocence. "But they really are cute. I can't help it."
Kagome fought back a grin at the exchange. She found Inuyasha's gruff denial of his cuteness endearing.
"He'll get all huffy and deny it, but deep down, I think he likes the attention," Kagome said, bumping Inuyasha playfully with her hip.
Inuyasha grunted at Kagome's comment, his ears flattening against his head in protest.*
"I do not like the attention. I just don't appreciate being called 'cute,'" InuYasha protested. "I'm a powerful warrior, not some damn doll."
Shampoo couldn't help but giggle at Inuyasha's fierce denial. She found it endearing how he tried to maintain his tough demeanor but still blushed at being called cute.
"Okay, no more calling you cute," Shampoo said, still smiling. "But you can't blame me for thinking it. You're just so..." She trailed off, her eyes moving down to eye his body.
Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at Shampoo, sensing the change in her tone.
"So what?" InuYasha asked, arching an eyebrow. "Don't finish that sentence."
