November 17th - 1:05 PM

Some days had come and passed. I had gone to school as usual, learned a bit, talked to some of my friends and gone home, of course. I woke up this morning, said hello to my mom and sister and went upstairs, got dressed. I put on a black jacket with matching black tapered jeans. I put some of my cards in my pocket too, just in case.

Cael: You never know when a spontaneous duel could happen.

I giggle to myself. I then looked in the mirror before heading out of my room. I go down the stairs before calling out to my mom.

Cael: Mom, I'm going out.

Mom: Okay, honey. Where are you going?

She asked while walking towards me.

Cael: I'm going out with my friend, ohsaka.

Mom: Oh, the gray haired girl you told me about? Just you two, huh.

Cael: H-Her hair is silver and yes, it will be just the two of us.

I relayed to her.

Mom: Oh, so like a little date huh? Ah, my little boy is growing up so fast

Cael: I'm not a little boy anymore… I'm 14.

Mom: You're still my little boy.

She smiled as I rolled My eyes and scoffed.

Mom: I remember me and your father's first date, he took me to the annual carnival and bought me some cotton candy, we rode so many rides and did so many things that day.

Mom: Ah…. The memories.

My mother reminisced.

Cael: well, I'm glad to hear you and dad had a good date like 20 years but I'm not going on one. It's just a little meet up between me and ohsaka.

Mom: If you say so, darling.

She chuckled.

Cael: well, I suppose I should be heading now. I'll be seeing you later mom.

Mom: See ya later too, sweetie! Good luck on your date.

Cael: It's not a date! Goodbye.

I shouted as I grab my jacket and ran towards the door. The air blew past me as I rushed towards the door, only stopping to push it open. As I exited I felt the bright rays of the sun as I continued my stride towards my destination - The city square. My destiny awaited me there.

Blocks of urban buildings and skyscrapers passed me as I walked through neo city. Looking up at the city skyline, I saw how much this city represented progress. The sleek silver buildings, the modern transit system, the flashy signs, it all gave off a feeling of a high tech wondrous city. As I walked down the street surrounded by people in the rush hour surge. The surge of car horns, subway cars screeching and people talking…. It all overwhelmed me. Still, I walked through all of this stuff and continued to my destination - The Arc Tower.
It was a popular place amongst teens, it had 180 floors all with action packed activities for everyone. What I liked the most of course was the arcade on the 163rd floor, it had loads of games and by loads I mean loads, probably about 100 machines on that floor. Me and my friends go here a lot on the weekends.

Cael: Just gotta turn at this block and I'll be there.

I said to myself. I rounded and soon found myself in front of the massive tower. I took a breath as I looked at the piece of steel and concrete in front of me. It had to be at least 800 meters tall. I merely thought how amazing it was that people could built Something like this.

Cael: …

A smirk formed on my face as I entered the building and went forwards.

Inside of the building was a sleek foyer which had several aquariums, A small sushi restaurant and a couple of dance machines near the back. I walked past these distractions and went straight to the elevator which was also in the back. The elevator had a touch screen which you could select to go to a certain floor. I selected 'floor 163' and entered the elevator as it opened it's doors.

After waiting awkwardly for about 2 and a half minutes with elevator music blaring in my ears, I arrived on the 163rd floor.
Arcade machines littered the floor as entered, all with flashing lights displaying some sort of fashionable entertaining game. I saw ohsaka sitting at a table near the end, sipping on some sort of drink. She saw me too and waved at me, I nodded and walked over to her.

Ohsaka: Ah… there you are.

Cael: Yep, Here I am.

We conversed as I approached her table and sat down.

Ohsaka: Ready for a whole day of fun?

Cael: Never thought I'd hear you say the word 'fun'

Ohsaka: Contrary to my dry-deadpan personality, I do know how to have fun.

She smirked as she looked at me.

Cael: I'm surprised you knew about this place.

Ohsaka: The world famous arc tower? Of course I knew about this place. It's the best tourist trap in the world.

Cael: No, not the tower. But this specific floor. It's not known to most tourists or newcomers.

Ohsaka: Well, to be honest I didn't know about it until recently. I heard Rhaja and Yubie talking about it.

Ohsaka: I thought it would be a good place to take you since you're familiar with it.

Cael: Well you thought correctly.

I chuckled as I gazed downward.

Cael: So…. What arcade cabinet are we hitting first?

Ohsaka: I was thinking Pon-Pon fighters.

Cael: A fighting game huh? I didn't think you would go for that. You looked more like a dance machine type of girl.

Ohsaka: Could you imagine me dancing?

Cael: Um…. No I couldn't actually.

I once again chuckle as Ohsaka looks at me dryly.

Ohsaka: So, shall we?

Cael: Of course.

Ohsaka and I stood up and headed over to where the arcade machine she was talking about is located.

Pon-Pon fighters is a fighting game based on a somewhat popular tv show. I haven't seen it but I've heard about it, it's about a group of humans with food-like characteristics who wander about a mythical kingdom. Sounds quaint yet it got enough attention to get several other spinoffs, including an arcade game.
We approach the cabinet and start up the game. The game loaded up its screen and we went to a character selection screen. Ohsaka selected Blackburn, A knight who wore a suit of armor made of liquorice, Meanwhile I chose Peppermou, A princess with peppermint swirls in her hair and a long sword made of the candy.

Cael: Let's do this!

I said to ohsaka as our match began.

We had a tough bout, each of our characters exchanging punches, kicks, slashes and energy beams. Eventually Ohsaka got the upper hand and K.O'd my character.

Cael: Crud.

Ohsaka: My My, That match didn't last long.

Cael: Yeah…. I know, I'm not very good at fighting games.

Ohsaka: I can tell.

A grin formed on her face.

Ohsaka: Well, Why don't we go another round, See how things go.

Cael: I guess so!

I agreed as we played another round. Starting up the machine once more, we began another bout. Once again, we exchanged attacks, blasted each other and made sure our palms got there use on these joysticks, until….

Ohsaka: gotcha!

Ohsaka beat me again. I put my head down in defeat as I look at ohsaka with a grin.

Cael: You're too good at this, you know that.

Ohsaka: Perhaps. Or maybe you're just bad at the game.

Ohsaka winked at me as I continued to smile, we enjoyed ourselves as we played several more rounds of this intense but fun fighting game. I had a warm feeling in my heart and I had a good sense that this date would go well.
