Clawdeen Pov:
"Not exactly the family reunion I'd imagine having out of all places. Being in an unknown world that nobody knows exists, learning that the person who was responsible for making my mother keep the monster world hidden from me and destroying a girl's family was because he was envious of her father's leadership. I mean you have to have a lot of anger toward a person to poison him and then raise his kid to one day kill someone that would pose a threat to him. It's no wonder my mom didn't want me to tell me about her travels in the past, they weren't as fantastic as I thought. But it has allowed me to meet new people and form relationships I never knew I could have, which means I have a reason to face this crisis that's in front of me. As well as bringing back my siblings so my dad knows that my mom left him something else to remember him by, and I'm keeping that promise."
Later-Hollow Jungle
It took the gang a while for them to arrive at the spot where Clawd had arrived to the Hollow Earth and started to set up traps for when Skar arrived with his army. Each of them had different ideas about how they would take out his apes without injuring them since there had been enough of Kali's people getting hurt, she wanted to end it once they stopped Skar. Some holes had been filled with honey that would keep anyone trapped due to its sticky substance to logs that were set to swing into apes if they tripped the wires that Robecca had set up.
"Those human movies you watched Clawdeen are coming in handy for us right now. I mean, my dad came up with these first when he was the leader of an army but this is more of your field of experience."
Draculaura complemented the werewolf for her inspiration in using movies for inspiration to make the traps. She smiled at her compliment since Clawdeen needed it for the fight that would be coming their way, she looked over at Clawd to see him have trouble speaking to Howleen since they were close to each other.
"You should talk to him while you still have the chance. We don't know what exactly will happen once Skar arrives."
She told Clawdeen in confidence to speak with her brother since they wouldn't have a chance when they arrived. Taking her advice and walking over to check on how her siblings were doing, Howleen saw this as a sign and went over to assist Suko to see if he needed help with the plant bombs he managed to make that would render the apes unconscious.
"Ever since I grew up here I thought she was my enemy. Skar told me that Ghost took away from me to one day kill me, I should have known better. But I was focused on helping Kali get stronger and prepare to get revenge on Gojira's son."
Clawd told her about how blind he was to the ape's deception that he wasn't able to figure out that both Kali and himself were being manipulated from the start. She felt sorry for him being in that situation as well as for Howleen who had to be raised here and knew the truth while her brother was kept in the dark.
"Before coming here, Venus told me that she wouldn't mind seeing you come back to the island. As well as that the staff consider you family with how you helped them, which is all the reason to make it up to them and everyone around us. To make sure Skar doesn't hurt any more monsters."
She told him about there being time to make amends for what he'd done and protect the monsters that consider him a friend despite how he was raised. With that being said and surprised that he had a friend who still believed in him made Clawd confident in their plan working as the two continued with setting up the traps. On the side was Kali Kong who was looking at the spot where Clawd descended from and the armor that Jet had given her, it made her think about how the surface world had changed to offer her this type of assistance in fighting Skar.
"Just wanted to let you know that the armor is a loaner. But if you like, we can make an actual set of armor once this is over."
Robecca told her from behind about using Jet's body since he'd need it for when they freed Shimo from Skar's control. The ape girl nodded at the offer of being given a set of armor that could aid her in a fight that would require protection than how she regularly defends herself.
"I don't know if I'll have a chance to take you up on that offer. I'll be busy fixing my kingdom as well as getting the trust of my apes back for letting Skar fool me into being a pawn."
Kali responded to the metal girl about the work she'd be busy with since there would be a lot of apes she would need to require their trust and the repairing of her castle. It made her saddened that this would be the last time they'd work together since it was nice meeting new people, it left Robecca to continue with the trap building while on a rock was Jet Jaguar's head who was positioned to keep an eye out for Skar and his army.
"While it is honorable for you to help your kind and make amends for what has happened. It's also important to help yourself before aiding others, one of the things I learned at Monster High."
Informing her about needing to take care of herself before protecting the apes she cared for. Kali never thought about that since the old ways had taught her to always look after the tribe and its people, nobody what condition their leader was in. The ape girl gave the head a nod as she noticed Jet's eyes blinking rapidly which was detecting motion coming toward them as the ghouls took a moment to listen to their surroundings.
"Their coming. Should we hide?"
Skelita asked the group about what they needed to do next as she finished setting up her trap, the skeleton started to feel a chill coming up from her spine. The others felt the same feeling as it was coming from Shino, it meant Skar wasn't close by as they immediately went over to the places they had built a hiding spot for when they arrived. Only Kali didn't hide as she wanted the ape and his followers to see her standing in their way to returning to the surface world. The ground started to rumble with the sounds of footsteps stomping toward her as she saw the plants and trees start to change their color from green to white. Looking over at the sight she saw Skar riding on top of Shimo with the apes walking by her side and carrying a collection of large crystals they'd use to travel to the surface world. The group saw Kali wearing the robotic armor around her body which caused her former advisor to laugh at her appearance as his laughter was joined by the other apes.
"Is this your plan now Kali? Armor yourself with an outsider and stand against your fellow apes. You truly do wish to keep us imprisoned in the Hollow Earth."
Skar responded to the attire that Kali was wearing and accused her of keeping them from returning to the island. The ape girl didn't let it bother her as well looking in his possession was her axe, which made her agitated since the one thing she wouldn't want that weapon to be used in a war.
"That axe you're wielding right now? It wasn't meant for war, that dorsal fin was given to my father in respect for him standing against Gojira in a fair fight. You made me believe that he gave it to him in the sense if they wanted to see who would rule both races, it give would him an edge. Right?"
Questioning him about the origin of the bone axe in being an offering of respect rather than for aggression, Skar looked at the weapon before looking back at her as he held it tightly as she was right. However, it didn't seem to matter as he had in his possession a group of brutal apes that battle anyone in their path and a creature that was just as powerful as Gojira. The ghouls were hidden in their spots waiting for the right moment to spring the traps, but didn't know when they could set it off as they were waiting for Kali to make the single.
"Out of courtesy for your father and keeping things at bay for the Skull Kingdom. I will let you live to look after everyone here, while I take over the surface world. All you have to do is step out of the way."
Skar offered her a choice of living here with the apes while he took his ambition and his apes back to the island and would not let her see him again. Everyone looked at the expression on Kali's face as there was a moment of hesitation in letting him leave and never return here, but the idea left her mind as she focused on keeping them here and not letting any of them go. She moved her foot against the dirt and drew a line to taunt them that if they wanted to make their way to the surface, they'd have to get past her.
"Kill her. Take the armor as compensation for her defiance toward the new king."
He ordered one of his apes to go after her as an ape walked out in front holding a spiked mace that he would use to take out Kali. Watching the ape walking over toward her and showing no signs of holding back, the ape girl singled Howleen and Suko from the side as they pulled a rope that caused a log that was hanging from one of the trees and swung right into the ape that knocked him out in one blow. Skar's apes were surprised at the sight of her having traps set around the place as they didn't know what was placed around them.
"She stands between this prison and your true selves to be conquerors! Go!"
Skar roared at the apes which caused them to rush Kali in the hopes of overwhelming them with their ferocity and rage at being trapped in this land. Kali singled out the group as they started to set off the traps, without knowing the apes fell for the traps that had been set for them. Half of them had fallen into holes where they got stuck in honey while the rest were either hit with other logs or throwing plant bombs that made them all pass out into the dirt. Soon enough, all of Skar's apes had been taken down leaving only their leader and Shimo left.
"There's a difference between the both of us. You use apes to fight your battles, I fight them by myself. But I rather think it's better to fight with them than being alone."
She told him which was the single for everyone to come out and show themselves to Skar as they got out of their hiding spots where they had a fearless look in each of their eyes of not running away. The red-haired ape looked at the adolescent monsters standing against him and seemed ready to fight him, it left him to laugh at them thinking they had an advantage over him.
"Wise words. But one small issue with that statement, I have others who are stronger to fight for me."
He announced as Skar pulled out his whip and struck the ground which singled another set of soldiers to come out of hiding as they were responsible for carrying the crystals. Slithering from behind Shimo was a set of Skull Crawlers that hissed toward the gang and were intimidated into working for Skar because of Shimo being under his control. It made the monsters frightened at their appearance and how ready they were to attack the gang, Clawdeen stood her ground as she unsheathed her claws before looking at her siblings and Draculaura as she looked afraid at what was in front of them.
"For our mother."
The wolf girl told them before changing her expression to fearless as Clawdeen let out a roar toward the Skull Crawlers before starting to charge at them. This left the gang to follow her as they each let out a road toward Skar and his second army as they would do whatever it took to free Shimo and stop Skar from making it to the surface. Jet Jaguar was the only one who wasn't involved in the fight as his head was on a rock watching the fight commence, the robot hoped that Junior would walk up in time and come to save everyone before they got overwhelmed by Skar's forces.
Later-Ghost's Village
It had been two hours since their friends had left the village and Frankie had waited inside the hut watching the crystallized body of Godzilla Junior to see if his wounds would be healed. Looking outside to see the apes staying close to their families and frightened about the outcome of Kali's fight against Skar, the reanimated ghoul sat down in stress about what was happening.
"You wanna know something funny? Everyone in the group has either been hurt, injured or had been targeted by someone who has a grudge against them. All except for me."
Frankie told the unconscious lizard in the hopes of him listening to their words despite being unconscious. The moment left them to think about their time at Monster High and each of the monsters and Kaiju they had the fortune of meeting had gotten into problems that revolved around them, all in the while was Frankie who hadn't gotten on anyone's bad side.
"I mean it's good that I haven't because I act nice toward everyone. But it also means they don't I'm worth it, that I can't be as serious as Draculaura and as determined as Clawdeen. Or hard-headed as you."
They spoke about the ghouls they'd befriended to now dating and him as the trio had been chased or challenged due to their parent's history they'd faced in the past. It frustrated Frankie that despite them escaping from harm and making it out in one piece, it would eventually happen to them soon since they were affiliated with them.
"It could happen to me one day, maybe when I'm relaxing with you all or maybe with my family. But I don't want it to happen, because I'm just as strong as all of you. And I don't want to wait for it."
Continuing to share their feelings with Junior as Frankie walked over to play their hand over the large crystal, they didn't notice the electricity coming off from Frankie's hand. The energy traveled into the crystal and to Junior as it began to affect him, all the while was Frankie frustrated with the emotion they were going through.
"I want the monsters, Kaiju, and maybe even humans to know that if they come for me. They're facing someone who could stand against them and not be lied to or convinced their friends, that I won't be the trusting monsters that my ghouls are. That Frankie Stein is the reanimated monster that said. No more!"
They declared on being defenseless and frightened if a moment came when they would be approached by a group that was fascinated by them and wanting to take something personal. Frankie's yell caused them to let out a jolt of electricity that caused the crystal to crack around the crystal, frightened of interrupting the healing process and leaving Junior in his unconscious state. The ghoul watched across the sides as the crystal continued to crack leaving Frankie scared about their ranting ruined any chance for reinforcement to assist their friends. Though just as fear was taking over Frankie, it faded away as they saw his body starting to glow a different color than his usual blue. A humming sound started to slowly build up from within the crystal to the point where Junior's eyes opened up to show them glowing magenta, Frankie had no choice but to run out of the hut which caused the apes to notice the ghoul running out of there in a hurry.
"Get down!"
Frankie cried out as suddenly Ghost's hut exploded in a bright manner that blinded half of the village by Junior's emergence from his crystalized seal. Smoke covered the remains of Ghost's hut as the apes and Frankie saw a pair of glowing eyes emerging from the sight, it faded away to show Junior reawakening with a new look that included his fins being magenta colored and his injuries healed. He looked at the apes who seemed frightened of him to that of Frankie, who was bewildered by his new look to that of the added boost they might have given him.
"Where's. My sister."
He asked them about the whereabouts of Shimo as that was the one thing that was on his mind after hearing about the white-scaled reptile being related to him. The question was answered that came from a roar coming from the far side of where the village was at as they saw a storm brewing above a spot of the jungle which indicated that's where Shimo was at. Without saying a word and making his way past the apes who could feel the newfound power that was radiating from him, Frankie followed him in the hopes they could help in whatever fight that was left between their friends and Skar.
Meanwhile in the Jungle
It had been a vicious fight between the ghouls and Skull Crawlers as they'd managed to take out the serpents with the assistance of Kali's strength and the combined witchcraft of Draculaura and Skelita. But it didn't last long with Shimo using her ice powers to change the weather around them causing everyone to huddle together to keep warm. All except for Kali as the armor she had on allowed her to continue fighting despite the cold rendering everyone to not continue. Skar's Skull Crawlers had set up the crystals around the area where Clawd had arrived and was awaiting their leader to finish settling with Kali Kong.
"This is what true leadership is child. Having the power to change nature itself, the same power that Gojira had when he could wipe out our people. That's what I'll show the world, that a king's authority can change everything."
He told Kali as she was right now bound by several crawlers who kept her at bay as she looked over at the ghouls who couldn't get up because of the cold. Staring at Skar showing no sign of giving up, the would-be king walked over to Kali as he prepared to take off her head with the axe and he raised it in the air preparing to end Kali with one chop. Before having the chance to kill her, Jet's armor reacted toward the hostile threat and fired off a flashbang in Skar's face causing him to move back and the crawlers to let her go.
"And that power isn't worth anything if you don't know how to use it."
Responding to his claim as she picks up the axe where Kali prepares to continue the fight, but she sees the ghouls continue to shiver in coldness which leaves her to run over and use the armor to warm them up. Unknowing from the crawlers coming from the back and about to attack them but were stopped by a roar that came from the far side of the jungle. It also came with the sound of something exploding as they looked up in the sky to see an energy beam that was magenta colored as the beam went toward the storm that Shimo made.
"Junior?"
Clawdeen called out his name on how it looked familiar to his fire breath attack as the beam was able to evaporate the cloud and allow the snow around them to melt away letting warmth help the gang get their strength back. Skar and Shimo looked confused at what happened to the snow cloud as they checked out where the blast came from as the Skull Crawlers hissed at something coming from the bushes. Everyone looked to see a pair of magenta eyes staring at Skar Kong which came from Godzilla Junior who emerged in an intimidating manner as he looked at his friends and back at Shimo who looked at him as if he was the same as her.
"He's back. And he's pink?"
Suko spoke out at Junior's new look which caught the ghoul's attention and took them by surprise since they didn't think the crystals would change him entirely. He didn't change his expression as he walked forward toward the white lizard with one idea that was in his mind, freeing his sister.
"Rematch time."
Junior announced toward Skar as he made his way toward them, the ape leader roared at the Skull Crawlers to attack him as they slithered at him with murderous intent. It was all for nothing as he took out each one with no hesitation and did not see them as a threat, his friends watched Junior mowing through them while behind him was Frankie dealing with the crystals as they were absorbing the energy from each of them.
"We need to help split up. Again."
Draculaura spoke out in an annoyed tone about having to do the same thing that could get them into trouble like last time. She along with Skelita, Robecca who carried Jet's head and Suko went over to see if they could remove the energy from the crystals while the wolves assisted Kali and Junior's fight against Skar and Shimo. Despite having the axe taken away from him, Skar was able to match Kali and Junior's fighting skills while Clawdeen and the others attempted to keep Shimo from getting into the fight.
"We need the fin. Get his fin!"
Clawd shouted to the pair as they did everything to take it off from Skar's possession. The ape was too quick for them and made it difficult for Junior and Kali to take it, he moved around with agility and used his bone whip to lash at them as he realized if they took the fin, he'd lose control over Shimo. Meanwhile at the crystals were the ghouls who helped Frankie take the electricity that was stored in them, looking over at the fighting happening and seeing no sign of it ending.
"Think you can direct that energy toward Skar?"
Robecca asked Frankie as she calculated the right amount of energy to stop Skar from moving about and denying any chance for the pair to get Gojira's fin off him. They had trouble keeping the electricity within them from imploding as Draculaura walked over and held their hands as she helped aim it at the fight as she focused on a spell for a combined attack toward Skar.
"Power's a word that knows no bounds. Let out all out right into the ground!"
The vampire announced as her magic aided Frankie in discharging the electricity at Skar, the blast blinded everyone and resulted in them collapsing onto the ground. Smoke was across the area as Skar managed to get back up to see that he had only been burnt by the attack, but he noticed on his was the dorsal fin missing as it was lying in front of him as he made his way toward it. Only for the fin to be stepped on by Howleen who had managed to get the axe from Kali as she takes a step back and ready herself for a swing.
"This is for ruining my family."
She told him before striking the dorsal fin and destroying it as the piece that connected the control over Shimo was now free. In the back were Clawdeen and Clawd who were able to assist each other in standing up as they saw Shimo in front of them and thought she was still in Skar's control, only for the look of obedience in her eyes to go away and to show an expression of curiosity. Skar growled at Howleen and was about to hit her in the face but was stopped by Junior who hit him with his tail sending him flying into the air.
"I got this."
Clawd called out as he was about to attack him but was aided by Clawdeen who helped with the pair slashing him against the face and sending Skar over to Kali who grabbed him by the neck. She raised him in the air for everyone to look at him as the ape girl growled toward Skar for the pain and suffering he'd done to all of them.
"My father will always be the better leader than the both of us, but the thing he'd agree on? Is whoever harms our family pay the price, and you've already paid the price for Selena's. Now it's our turn."
She told him that the claw marks the wolves gave him were for keeping the three siblings apart. Aiming him toward Shimo, Junior gave her the gesture to get her revenge as she let out a blast of ice onto Skar as he had been completely frozen into a statue. Using the enhanced strength that the suit of armor gave her, Kali Kong raised his body into the air and smashed it toward the ground where she repeatedly punched it till there was nothing left of the former power-hungry ape. She lets out an enraged yell holding in years of anger and stress from the death of her father had finally been settled. Looking at the the gang and the two lizard siblings to see if she was okay, but all the ape girl could do was collapse on the ground, she was out of breath and didn't know how she'd be able to fix her kingdom after taking out of Skar. Everyone else remained silent since they would have to wait for her to settle herself if they were going to figure out a way to get back home.
